There's a reason that Discordia attracts those people. Discordianism is a satirical, counter-cultural religion and philosophy. More conservative people are often less attracted to countercultural things, while disgruntled hippies adore them. Of course, such generalization is general, conservatives can love satire, novelty and philosophy as well.
I assure you I am not a user of drugs or a hippie. Ironically my political opinions are too chaotic to fit neatly onto one side of a political compass, so I just say I'm central. The world is complex, unwavering political alignment is an ignorant cop out.
This place became a little bit more lolrandumb than before and I make the baseless assumption that many Discordian groups have a large amount of that same thing. It's unfortunate but expected.
I can't comment on Principia Discordia as I have not yet read most of it, but the parts I have seen are my type of humor
