We now have the technology to enhance the human condition. Transcranial electrical stimulation (TDCS, CES, TMS, ect) , gene doping, nootropics, genetically modified probiotics, and other emerging technologies all have the potential to make us stronger, smarter, and live longer. Why are you not taking advantage of these technologies, /doomer/? Many of you have nothing to lose so why not take a risk with new technology and become a superman?

Us? no, just rich people in the first world bubble, certainly not me or the rest of the world, We are heading for a divide where the children of the higher classes are going to be engineered transhumans and the rest are dumb monkeys with no use or purpose, with most jobs automated, literall human cattle, i could even expect a surge in ebola and a new misterious thread of black plague coming "out of nowhere " to remove the excedent.
There`s already a huge divide in the kind of upbringing that people have and the uber competitive standards brought by globalization, we are seeing it now, and with this on the table kiss social mobility goodbye for good, poors kids can train and work hard all they want, they are fucked from the get go, the game is rigged, if merit was ever a thing not anymore, now the game is a pay to win and only oligarchs will be full citizens.

Some transhumanists are aware of danger that only the "top class" will eat the fruits of transhumanism, it's valid concern, so again, are you trying to say something here or you just like to call everyone who disagrees with you a leftist; while using GPL as example?

I was calling out conspiratorial bullshit when I see it. The capitalists wanting to kill us once they have automation is a very bad analysis of capitalism (and automation for that matter). Capitalism needs consumers, automated systems need programmers and maintainers, not to mention a userbase to serve and datamine. This is literally the /leftypol/ equivalent of "da jooz"
I wasn't attacking leftists per se, but the compulsively edgy, anti-intellectual leftism that thrives online. Nor are leftists the only defenders or biohacking or open-tech culture. It has a libertarian streak to it, that gets constantly called out by the SJWs. This is a case where SJWs have the right analysis, but are on the wrong side (as happens often).

Oh okay I get it now, correct, but still, personally I am concerned about the class issue in tech advancement. However, the truth is that I don't know anything, I don't see future, I don't know how tech will progress and how available/affordable it will become. I guess in medicine - plastic surgery/prosthesis/artificial organs/cure for diseases, we can say that all people will benefit from it more or less, even though question is US and your insane costs of medical care but that's not everything, is it? I see for example AI as big problem, where important projects are managed by only those who have money, simply because it costs money, there isn't anything else behind that. That's why I think it's very important, especially in tech advancement, to take advantage of open (and as long as possible - free) solutions, same as it is practice in academia - f.e. as doctors share new knowledge, tech world should behave in same manner and share the knowledge and solutions, whether they like it or not, literally. 'Market' (the consumers/users) should see this as one of the highest priorities, otherwise there are implied dangers coming out of it.
Now other issue is military, I'd love to completely avoid it. I don't like drones, I don't like lasers fucking ripping your ass from orbit. My pacifistic self would love to see the world where military power has no use whatsoever (especially if it consumes so large amounts of finances) but that's just a dream.

It won't matter if they will benefit from it and they will. In west even poor people in slums have smartphones now, they get (optimally) the same treatment as any middle class person, etc. and it doesn't matter if they receive welfare or not.

I agree with much of what you have to say, but the left (and everybody else, TBQH) is contributing to the fatalism about how technology is going to be used. There was nothing inevitable about tech consolidation, but we let it happen.
Here's what I meant when I say that the SJWs have the right analysis, but take the wrong side. Let's describe a situation
>A bunch of tech grads start a makerspace and float ideas about a start-up
>SJWs visit their start-up and note that most of them are white or east-Asian men with nerdy, utopian ideas that compete with their own.
>They start calling for government oversight, and more diversity etc.
>The only people who can compete in this climate are those who can successfully lobby the government, hire PR agencies to highlight the careers of their black salesperson and their hispanic secretary, and paint their office in rainbow colors every June, etc.
>Those companies (and the govt. offices they liaison with) are inevitably led by wealthy, white men who don't care about improving society in the least.
A big mistake a lot of people on the left make is to assume that by deconstructing the imperfect, something better will organically rise up to replace it. What happens instead is that we have a cultural vacuum that quickly gets filled by an ideology even more amenable to the powers that be. Folk-libertarianism (as I call it) might be misguided and cringy but it is nonetheless a defense mechanism to keep something even worse at bay.

It's not just issue of left but I'm very sure you are aware of that. That would be up for political debate I'm not willing to have though, it wouldn't lead anywhere. For me it's simply issue of freedom and accessibility. I don't care if you call it folk-libertarianism or whatever else, I don't want to follow some new system by book, I only care about reaching freedoms we might have and which would be reasonable to have, even in this system we currently live in. I would call it more evenly redistributed power among people, not in socialistic terms though. If that is possible in this system more likely than in any other? Eh, maybe? Tech companies are transforming, they learned that open sourcing their software, especially under free license, saves them money because a lot of neckbeards and soyboys will hop on this train and fix their issues for free for reward of contribution credits. Open hardware is slightly different question but hopefully we will get there as well. Bottom line is that world is transforming, maybe not quickly enough, more in right direction I would say, even though we have some big issues and technology plays huge role in it. The only thing that truly matters, as I said, is how we will approach it. I don't mind some big CEO not giving fuck about improving society as long as his company provides some good solution/product, which should be free and open, for his own benefit - which will benefit the consumers as well. It's not important if we benefit from it even if that wasn't prime concern of the developer, morality plays no role here.
Of course there are other issues, like is he exploiting his workers (sorry for leftspeak but I simply mean paying bananas to workers somewhere in 3rd world) and if his company cares about ecology, etc. People are caring more about these issues spontaneously and I think that's a good thing.

No it's not. I was calling them out because by their own standards, they are the ones who should be preventing the consolidation of power in the hands of the privileged. I didn't ague that folk-libertarianism was a good system, or even a consistent system to begin with, It's just a way for techbros to express their collective interest. I brought up morality only because SJW-ish criticism of "white male brogrammers" are morally oriented.
The only point that I was trying to make was that there is an undue and undeserved criticism of people who are into biohacking, and into generally using technology for creative purposes. It is something that both the online right and the online left love to criticize, but having interacted with some of those people IRL, they couldn't be further from the "bugman" or the "privileged bro" stereotypes of the right and left respectively.

We had tiny thread about transhumanism not so long ago, not sure if you participated in it but the guy told me that there isn't really something as guideline for transhumanism, in other words it's umbrella term for different views. What is the criticism exactly and does it apply to some certain points (of biohacking/tech for creative purposes)? We had one argument here and that was class argument, are there any other arguments against it? I'm asking because I'm far from being knowledgeable about this issue. From my experience, regular people are generally excited about those ideas, imo sometimes too much - they are not thinking about possible outcomes enough and want to just nosedive into tech utopia. As far as online right and left goes, I can't say they were too much critical as well, at least from my experience. /pol/ had always strong userbase promoting tech advancement for their purposes, same as /leftpol/ used to have pretty strong anarcho-transhumanist shilling going there (great banters with anprims always, good old times). I once had a great talk with ancom online about this, where he went on how cryptocurrency as concept could solve a lot of problems and so on. I know it's very small sample and only my experience with these people, that's another reason why I'm asking. I'm keeping my (healthy) skepticism, as I'm (unhealthy) careful type of person but I'm open to talk about this because this is the trending topic which will most likely shape our future. I don't know how much you like the word transhumanist, I'm just using it as useful term here.

AI driven art is something which is certainly not giving me any excitement because tl;dr it's just algorithm with database large enough creating some result, whether that is composition or photopainting or whatever else, nothing much extra other than showing how much we are good at doing math. The thing which I love about art is precisely the human element, the imperfections which are present in it, the background of its creator, art often tells a story if its genuine enough. Even if it isn't, it just says about author how much of an npc he/she is.
However, you have a point, I'm just more interested in how much we can spit into face of being a human. Not so long time ago, I was against everything non-natural when it came to human beings, but now? Fuck, I want to see btfoing cancer in real time, I want to see people modifying their bodies into whatever they wish it to be. I even think it will create this insane scenario, where natural beauty will be even more valuable. Imagine being able to shape your body in some kind of character creator, including voice modification and whatever else and how imperfect that will be for at least next decades even if not centuries. I laugh at people who are repulsed even by something marginal as tattoo. But if people wish to circlejerk forever about politics while at the same rejecting this as some kind of utopia (as if your political systems are something else than wet dream), then be my guest. And you will appreciate it you ungrateful weebs, you will love this androgynous future, as soon as baldness and manletist incelism will be cured lmao.
