The issue with jangle/twee pop is that not many bands actually released many of jangly records afaik (at least good ones). It always leads to some other things. MBV had like one EP and 1 compilation album and then they went into noise pop direction, McCarthy pm ended up as Stereolab, which brings me to another issue. This psychedelia revival you are talking about happened and is currently happening. Stereolab is actually great example because I love their early records and then they went to total shit with copying velvet underground. John Cage Bubblegum is still great song though, but their later albums were really boring. Same applies to neo-psychedelia, you can't repeat it forever and keep it interesting. It happened to shoegaze, dream pop, post-rock, all dead genres now. What was beautiful about those bands imo is the raw punk-y element in it. A Place to Bury strangers is another good example, they were insanely amazing band but they lost grip and edge to them. I wish I could cry. One of my issues is that my tear ducts were messed up as a child, making it impossible cry. I end up feeling like more of a sociopath, since I can never release my feelings and even in periods of extreme stress cannot show the universal sign of despair.

Ironically, I think my life situation has been getting easier. My teenage years I had to deal with trying to get straight As due to a perfectionist mindset while at the same time dealing with parents using me as a way of getting back at each other when going on dates. I would go nights without eating to hide that the one that should have been feeding me was on a date and was too busy to cook.

Nowadays I just work at a comfy job where I just do designs as needed. Then I go home and can be in isolation. Few expectations, much less chaos going on around me. In fact, this has been a major source of why people are angry with me, since they tell me that because my life is so much better now than it was that I should have had some shock factor, but should be healing. Instead, I am remaining the same.

So, based on my experience, the most negative portion would have been my teenage era. Not due to hormones or any of that, but due to situational stuff, while also dealing with the plate of mental issues that were developing such as OCD and autism. I still remember nearly dying due to dehydration when I spent three days on the computer trying to document shovelware files.

Based on logic, this means that if 15 year old me wouldn't be welcome here then, I sure wouldn't be welcome here now. My life is much more optimistic, even in my pessimistic mental state, and that mental state was the same as it was back then. If anything, that would have been the era when my tulpa was taking control of me and mentally torturing me, making even the mental more anguishing.

Don't think I ever cared much about console gaming, I couldn't have told you 2001 was when the PS2 was out. 2001 brings back memories of a lot of PC titles though.. that might be the year I was the most active with gaming before my OCD started kicking in and I got stuck on endless shovelware.

I was twelve when I got the shit beaten out of me because I confided in a friend that I had a crush on another boy, and my parents separated (unrelated).
