I wish I could cry. One of my issues is that my tear ducts were messed up as a child, making it impossible cry. I end up feeling like more of a sociopath, since I can never release my feelings and even in periods of extreme stress cannot show the universal sign of despair.

Ironically, I think my life situation has been getting easier. My teenage years I had to deal with trying to get straight As due to a perfectionist mindset while at the same time dealing with parents using me as a way of getting back at each other when going on dates. I would go nights without eating to hide that the one that should have been feeding me was on a date and was too busy to cook.

Nowadays I just work at a comfy job where I just do designs as needed. Then I go home and can be in isolation. Few expectations, much less chaos going on around me. In fact, this has been a major source of why people are angry with me, since they tell me that because my life is so much better now than it was that I should have had some shock factor, but should be healing. Instead, I am remaining the same.

So, based on my experience, the most negative portion would have been my teenage era. Not due to hormones or any of that, but due to situational stuff, while also dealing with the plate of mental issues that were developing such as OCD and autism. I still remember nearly dying due to dehydration when I spent three days on the computer trying to document shovelware files.

Based on logic, this means that if 15 year old me wouldn't be welcome here then, I sure wouldn't be welcome here now. My life is much more optimistic, even in my pessimistic mental state, and that mental state was the same as it was back then. If anything, that would have been the era when my tulpa was taking control of me and mentally torturing me, making even the mental more anguishing.

Oh, that is my personal special era as well anon. While games died in 1997, it was a waning sort of death, meaning we got a few years where it possibly burst into more life, like a supernova, before it fully faded.

The biggest problem is that the standards were being set for the destruction of gaming. Games were being based on stories instead of actual games, the internet was taking over and so shovelware stopped really existing, DRM started becoming more secure and annoying due to the internet.

Plus by 2001 Looking Glass Studios was dead. We never got Thief II Gold, instead being left with a rushed product that was never refined.

Don't think I ever cared much about console gaming, I couldn't have told you 2001 was when the PS2 was out. 2001 brings back memories of a lot of PC titles though.. that might be the year I was the most active with gaming before my OCD started kicking in and I got stuck on endless shovelware.

Problem is that Carnivores ended up feeling boring as the AI would just endlessly run from you before running off the map. It was too broken and miserable to be enjoyable, it surprises me that a community suddenly picked up the game recently.

Stronghold is a very boring RTS title in my eyes. You just spend a lot of it waiting, more time is spent watching an old man cross to a stockpile than it is playing the game.

Shark is one I have a lot of nostalgia for, but the problem is that I can recall it being very short.

Empire Earth… I really need to replay that one, I can't criticize it at all. Would have gotten more popular than AOE2 if not for the absolute complexity, which I find a plus in my book.

Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone. So many good memes from those bobbleheaded freaks.

Zoo Tycoon. Always one of those titles I want to like, but every time I try to touch it I end up wondering what the point of building up a complex zoo is, especially since then you get endless fence repairs. I think I don't work well with sandbox.

Virtual Deep Sea Fishing II. I always wanted to play the first game, easily the best fishing game out there. Great, now I miss playing a fishing game.

I was twelve when I got the shit beaten out of me because I confided in a friend that I had a crush on another boy, and my parents separated (unrelated). I was thirteen when I was raped by a man I met online. I was fourteen when I started studying philosophy, and became introduced to existentialist, and later, pessimistic and nihilistic thinkers; I started smoking, and it got harder and harder to feel emotions that weren't related to sex, drugs, or drowning from the thoughts in my head when I tried to sleep. 15 is when I started uploading pornographic videos and pictures of myself to reddit under the fake identity of a 19 y/o; this is the year where I tried to kill myself, and failed. I spent 2 weeks in a hospital, and when I got back, I had 0 messages. No one realized I was gone. By 16, I was getting high every day. I self-harmed constantly, and I could only get off on hard bdsm porn, which I was, in every sense of the word, addicted to.

About 5 months ago is when I decided to get my life together. I met a boy at school who shared my love of music and philosophy, and we started dating. I was scared to have sex with another person from the time I was raped, but he never rushed me. He comforted me when I had panic attacks, he laid with me when I was depressed, and he even helped me quit smoking. He was everything I needed in my life, but I took him for granted. He left me because he wasn't getting anything out of the relationship, and didn't sign up to fix someone. He said it more gently than that, but I knew why.

I'm desperately trying to keep myself together, because I don't want to slip back to where I was. I meditate, I make music, I stopped self-harming, I haven't started smoking again, and I'm trying to stay caught up in school, and hopefully graduate on time. I finally have a foothold on lifethough it might just be that, a footholdand I can still feel nihilism trying to creep back into my life every single day. I see scars from cutting myself and twinge, because I desperately want to remember what my arm looked like when it was cut open. A friend of mine smokes, and every time she leaves to light up I want to join her.
