How do you live with the fact that you're not a great man of history like Napoleon, nor a visionary artist like Beethoven, and that you will be forgotten after your death for all eternity?

Everyone gets forgotten eventually maplenigga, see khufu, you know who he is? no? he's the guy who built the great pyramid of giza, and we know almost jack shit about him because it was over 4000 years ago. All we have left of him is a tiny statue that might not even be his actual image but what someone thought he looked like 1000 years later when it was made.
Everything turns to dust eventually, focus more on getting a fucking life instead which is what I'm trying to do

>How do you live with the fact that you're not a great man of history
Because 99% of all men that came before me weren't either and I take solace in that. Recognized in the history books, that is. There are undoubtedly countless great men who history has forgotten or has never known or whose deeds were on a smaller scale that those you named. Thinking about those men and their impossible to know adventures and deeds is a better feeling than looking up to the men who we all know from the history books.
You should also realize that most of those great men weren't occupied at all with the thought of being remembered by the world after their death, though some of them certainly were. Some of them were also only remembered after death and couldn't have known they would be remembered at all.
True Virtue doesn't know itself.
If you want a sense of leaving something behind, then plant a tree, make a statue, or carve something into the earth that won't easily fade. I suppose that's not what you're after since no one will know it was you who did those things, but it's something within the realm of possibilities for you to accomplish.

The thing is, I am one, but i gave it all up and let someone else profit from it. Ive ghost written many hit respected movies and even shows, and nobody will ever know i wrote them. I did it because im lazy, I just basically told someone a bunch of ideas one night who i knew could make them happen. I didnt want to write it all down and go through the process of copy rights, negotiation, publication, etc. At the time I just wanted to see if people would like it, but i do now regret not taking credit. Maybe ill get credit in death.

I believe in reincarnation, at least to some extent, so that's not a particular problem.

Then, off the top of your head, name three great ancient Roman and Greek composers. Hell, throw ancient Egyptian ones in it too if you like.
Civilizations die, and their memories die with them to a very large extent. And ours is moving towards that point. Your eternal memory is going to last no more than a century, maybe two at most. And we haven't even built for eternity like those civilizations. Of us, there won't be much more known than is of the ancient Germanic tribes since we write on easily perishable paper instead of long-lasting parchment (if not in even easier destroyed computer memory), make buildings that fall apart in a generation, and use little metal tools, preferring plastic, which becomes brittle inside of a couple decades and is guaranteed to lose shape within a century.

All of Napoleon's gains were lost. Classical music has been substituted by a pop cultural plebeian consumer horde and their musical fads. None of the things which are great in the eyes of humanity are lasting. I wake up every day and take a shit, but this will end someday too.

Thats the funny thing nothing ever ends, it just keeps fading away. I find that deciding whether to do something small, or do something great is largely irrelevant. The question is whether to do anything at all. As the old saying goes "they cant unrape you". So you might as well go out there and fuck everything. I mean that in a metaphorical way, but suit yourself.

Valid but what if you don't care slightest about your heritage or being remembered? It's not question of low self-esteem, I just simply can't imagine instance where would passing my 'heritage' (whatever the fuck that even means) benefit anyone and why the hell would people desire to keep memory of me after my death. If there is one insecurity then it must be fear of being forgotten. It's not an insult, I just have hard time understanding it honestly, as I can imagine, my opinion can be hard to understand for people who are obsessed about postmortem idealized image of own's self. People won't remember you, people who will want to remember 'you' will cherrypick the good stuff (or if you will be monster, only the evil stuff) and make completely biased image about you right after you pass away.
There is no 'you' after your death, there IS 'you' only if you are alive because yours 'you' can be experienced by no one else than you.

There seems to be an innate need for people to prove their own existence, from the child that scratches his name in a school desk to the sadistic rapist who burns his soulless gaze into his victims memory. Pehaps I am a fool, but I would rather continue as long as possible with the hope of something at least interesting coming about. I don't think I will ever be happy, but to experience something interesting would be marvelous. Be it the collapse of society, or some other extreme paradigm shift, whatever. As long as it is interesting or novel, I would enjoy experiencing it. I have no delusions about it making me a hero, or even surviving. But it might be poetic, if even in a tragic manner, and to me, that would be beautiful and therefore worth living for.

Most people will be forgotten after their deaths.
Most of humanity is forgettable. It's only a very few individuals which are remembered. For instance, normies can't even remember who was the president during the gilded age of America, but they will DEFINITELY remember that George Washington was the 1st president and one of the founders of America.
I don't care about being remembered, I never did. I never even cared if my funeral would have only a good dozen people there. What I care is that my material life is comfortable. I can't go on thinking about things such as this which'd make me uncomfortable because obviously I won't be seen as a great man of history.

Who cares? The Sun will die out eventually. The Universe will go dark and cold. Even the Black Holes will vaporize. And obviously, humanity will exterminate itself much sooner than anything of this happens. There won't be anyone to remember. Just go through this ride with ease. Even though it's ultimately pointless, but nevertheless you should live your life as best as you can: don't become a mindless NPC, read, contemplate, watch good movies, listen to good music. Given the times we are born in, we have the possibility to experience only the best the humanity has to offer. There are plenty of things to be sad about, but being 'forgotten' is definitely not the one. Consider how many people has there even been on this planet, and think about how many we remember. Billions and billions of lives: everyone had their family, their desires, everyone had consciousness, and thought about this at one point in life for sure. Just relax. You are not the first one.
Sorry for this stream of thought, but I hope I made myself clear enough.

If anything, God's biggest mistake was His over-fondness for Man. You know what God defines as sin? Not following His "divine plan." He doesn't care about how many people you killed/fucked/swindled/bribed/domineered. If you are a viruous human who gives up on his carnal desires and refuses to follow God for "finding purpose", you are as good as dead. God will populate heaven with humanity's filthiest trash bc they decided to suck up to their Creator in their last breath while Hell is filled with virtuous people who live simple and humble and dont need a deity for validation.
If thats not narcissism, I dont know what is.
If free-will beings are bound by predestination with no power to choose their physical, social, and chronological characteristics, what good is free will?
I'd rather have God be a Watcher. Cold, unmoving, non-interfering. Bc let's be honest: people become Christians because they're flattered with the idea that someone or something is watching out for them, interested in them.
Not bc they feel they need to be a part of something bigger than themselves. Christianity, if you have noticed, is the most anthro-centric belief. Thats why white rightists love it so much. They can hide their racial narcissism behind it.

This morbid obsession with making milestones is the reason for most world problems. No one can change the world. But the world is changing. History is made by the few, executed by the masses. The west has been spoiled by the nonstop back-to-back action of the 17th-20th centuries into thinking history happens once every twenty years. That each new generation is obliged to theatrocally level up society or theyre a failure. Thats why the millennials and now zoomers are accused of bringing "the dark ages part. Two", bc life is not bound to human whims.
Adults are only able to think fifty years max relative to current year anyway.
For all we know, there were ancient ruins in the days of the Greeks that commoners used as a idiom.

Ah good to see a fellow Calvinist here. I unironically held the same views; except that I've come to accept the whole thing as very based. I mean; the Christian God is truly the God of doomers. The cast out; and destroyed is invited in to a union of suffering with Christ. I will be forgotten; but thats insignificant as my glory is with Christ.
After reading the book of Hosea which I take as an allegory of God's predestination; I realized that without predestination the relationship that come from salvation is empty; imagine marrying someone merely because he/she pass the uni without ever meeting her.
As for all man; saved or not; that will all die and be forgotten, I resolved that their lives is preserved in God's eternal glory. For He knows all.

Predestination is petulance on God's part. Imagine burning people in hell because they choose to create their own destiny. The fact that God made humans as pets to "bond with" and dangle the free will schtick is beyond narcissism.
They say God is all-powerful, indescribale. If so, why does he allow Satan to wreak havoc? Why did God put Satan in the Garden?
I think God is the metaphysical autist that never wanted open fate.
Im sorry but I feel God created us to have animate toys
He can abuse as His whims please.
Also, I believe with all my heart that Christianity is popular because of its anthropocentrism not bc of its humility.
Man prides Himself as above the animals just bc He builds tools and machines that can imitate nature and explore other realms. Yet despite allthis, He is bound to biological and psychological drives not unlike the animals. He is at the mercy of weather and wild animals amd plants. And then He has to contend with the fact that his world isnt infinate but a small speck of rock orbiting around a big ball of burning gas that can devour the earth when it burps.
Thats why when life doesnt go as planned, people say "God is angry at us for abandoning Him."
No one loves God for God. I dont care what any cocksucking churchgoer says. These people are in church bc their generational zeitgeist is dead and gone. The world has moved on to new fads. Its all masturbation.
Also, people who say "Christianity is not a religion, its a relationship with God" or "I dont believe in religion, I believe in Jesus" deserve a punch to the brain.
God shouldve been a Watcher. Never punishing nor rewarding. No plan for alvation Let mankind create their own destiny. If they snuff themselves out because of sin, then so be it. Nature is better off.
