Once youve accepted an ideology and let it nestle into your mind, your mind will close itself to everything else and you will acquire pavlovian responses to any new information you come across. I went from liberal, to apolitical, to trumps cult of personality, to far right, to moderate right, to not bothering to care at all anymore. Ive got a life I need to live here, and I refuse to have my mind, my future and my soul closed shut like a lock. I genuinely think /pol/ has dangerous forces running psy ops on it which do indeed radicalize a lot of people without them realizing it. I've been around low class people my whole life and never met a poor adult who was innocently poor. It's always their fault. Yes, I am very indifferent towards politics. All politics is and every was was demographics applied to power. You can see this in every single group ever. Pick a group any group and they will have their views. These views are entirely derived from whatever demographics they happen to be a part of and how much power that group has. An "oppressed" or group that is in a lesser position of power will advocate and fight for equality or equal standings with whatever rivals they have, while on the flip side a group with more power will advocate and act in favor of getting more power, just the same as the "oppressed" group. There is no difference. If the roles were reversed the oppressed would act the same way that their oppressors do. It isn't just simple as oppressors and oppressed, there are millions of demographics that one can fall into that vary as a result of everything from eye color, to geography, to what music they listen to. Usually these things intersect quite a bit, and usually these things have a commonality in how important they are (with the likes or ethnicity, gender, and geography, religion being at the top). All of these groups battle each other all the time for whatever resources are there. The environment is the only thing that effects these groups beliefs. If they believe they will be the inner circle in a communist country, then they will advocate and push in favor of it, if they believe that they will have more power and control in an anarchist society then they will push for that. Whatever views anyone ever held are just about as flexible as where they find themselves. Change the environment and you will change the politics. You change the power that is held and you change the politics. Environment and power/resources is all it is. Nothing more and nothing less. All shall advocate in favor of himself.

None of this is due to New Atheism. It's due to long term trends going all the way back to the beginnings of the post-war world. The problem with this is that it works in the economical area, for material goods, or more generaly for what can be redistributed. If all human matters could be reduced to economy, then yes, socialism would be the best system.

But that logic does not aplly in the cultural or bioethical area. Obviously we share the same spaces, that's why for instance the radical left is a fan of psychiatry and involuntary commitment, that's why the radical left can at times be super conservative in the cultural area, towards eg. the holy trinity of anime, vidya, and porn, as well as prostitution (in France most anarchists defend the statist "Nordic model" I shit you not), that's why the radical left is super anti-tech too.

I'm not sure the argument can be made that unskilled labor is "just easy money bro, just work hard", but considering how everyone has the internet and can learn some skills, working trades or learning to code is easier than ever before.

Getting boomers to hire you without some certs/experience of some kind is another thing, but certs are getting easier to come by nowadays.
