Let's say you receive an old laptop from someone. What would you do with it? Any schway project ideas?
I would like to see if I can recover any data from it but I wouldn't know how to do it.

I would suggest looking into Cyberdeck projects. As for the data, just remove the drive and hook it up to a laptop or something using a SATA to USB cable (if HDD, for SSD fuck if i know), then you can check if there is a file system, hopefully it is not encrypted.
