Many such cases. Imageboards were always cancerous but since around 2017 they've gotten enormously worse, and not just the small ones. I used to frequent a large and well known imageboard, though I won't name it here because I don't know what the rules are about mentioning other boards. The threads I would read would get spammed with retarded stale copypasta, gay porn, bestiality, soyjak animations, ISIS execution videos, dick pictures, guro, lolikon, some of that last category very sus looking and some of the thumbnails looked like they might have been real CP, but I ain't clicking that shit, nigga. And it wasn't one of those cases where all the mods are asleep. The last time it happened, from clicking the "report" button to getting the "you are derezzed for false reporting" message was less than two minutes, while the spammer continued to flood dick pics. After about the fourth time in a few months I got a three day ban for reporting the spam, while the spam stayed up and the spammer continued spamming and shitflooding, I decided I was wasting my time. That was over a month ago. I haven't been back.
It's a pity. The community, to the extent that we can use that word to describe a bunch of Internet randos posting anonymously, whom I've never met and will never meet, was comfy sometimes. There were productive conversations sometimes, except when it was getting flooded with torture videos and toddlerkon and uncreative bad copypasta that was cringe and unfunny the first time, with the apparent enthusiastic approval of the mods, who were not content merely to ignore the spam, but also felt compelled to seek out and punish users for reporting the spam.
Be happy there are no mods here, no jannies, and a board owner who hasn't been around since before COVID. On a board that doesn't seem to have much of a spam problemthe stuff OP is complaining about was posted years agoit could be much, much, much worse. There could be mods here spamming CP and banning people for complaining about it.
