 No.51630 [Last50 Posts]

I'm making a new thread by request, because this was on a tech thread and it's totally unrelated.

Weeks ago, I found a zine downtown when I was taking summer classes. I posted some pics here, and people seemed to recognize the art. They think they've linked it to a few reddit users (who may be the same person) and the subreddit /r/corecyberpunk

The zine suggests that there's a group of people calling themselves 'corepunks', because they all hang out on the 'coredump', which is apparently a BBS or something.

In the zine it has a map, and suggests looking for the open WAP 'Coredump', which I found uses a captive portal DNS to send you to a page, that in the code, gives you an email address and a code to send to the email address.

Once you do that, you get a note suggesting you set up a 'dead drop'.

When you go to the dead drop, there's a little plastic bag with a pin and a note that says 'Stay Tuned'.

Some people suggested I stake out the dead drop with a camera and catch them placing it, but when I arrived at the coffee/hukah/headshop The item was already there.

People have suggested I send another email, from another email address, and try to catch them the second time around. I asked my room mate if I could borrow his GoPro, and he's actually pretty interested in it now that I've explained it, so we might try that.

For now, attached, is the image of the pin.

I think it needs to be pointed out that guy behind this corepunk larping thing is lurking and posting on this board with 98% certainty.

Why do you think that? I'm not saying you're wrong, but I've been following this pretty close since the beginning. The way I see it, you've got 3 possibilities.

1) M_Bishop made this game, OP found it, and M_Bishop is lurking.

2) OP is M_Bishop, he spent years setting up a game for 8Chan.

3) OP is telling the truth, M_Bishop made this thing for Reddit (which he's incredibly active on), and probably doesn't ever come here unless someone tips him off.

Since you guys called him out directly on the board, rather than playing it cool and messing with him for a while, it's going to be hard to say which one it actually is. Unless someone wants to just straight up confess they tipped him off, the userbase of 8chan is probably tiny enough that there's no reason to believe he's here.

The real question isn't 'Is this a game, and did M_Bishop create it?' I think OP said it was stated directly in the zine that it's a game, and people have already pointed out that M_Bishop at least made SOME of it.

The real question isn't even 'Is M_Bishop alone in making this?', though it's an interesting question, I sincerely doubt the 'lone gunman' theory. There's just too much material for one person to have made alone.

In fact, the amount of material OP is describing is my biggest question. If he's for real(and even a real person), then he(they) wrote an entire book, created a wifi access point, hid it in a public place, made stickers, pins and zines. They did all of that for a single player? Or are there a bunch of players around OPs location, and we're just watching?

The real question to me is: Is this an online game, and we're playing it? Or, is this an offline game, and we're watching it?

Did you look into the email address? see if it's been compromised or used elsewhere?

The zine pics are the skulls in the other thread or are there more? did you run any reverse image searches on the zine cover?

Image attached, I got from here I think, is it related to them? It's probably coincidence, it's pretty generic name.

Not OP, but I reverse image searched the stuff on the other thread. The weird thing is, I didn't get any matches … but noticed, the next post down, someone claimed to have done one, and that it was M_Bishop who did it, which is where we got the M_Bishop account name from.

Does a reverse image search work if it's a different picture of the same thing?

So with one of the images of the front of the magazine it is possible to go from it to this tumblr:

coredumpproject.tumblr.com/post/176067193142/zines-are-cool

With tumblr you can get from the pic of him with a head mounted display to:

reddit.com/r/CoreCyberpunk/comments/88zo65/if_you_are_a_fan_of_cyberpunk_and_complain_on/

https://tineye.com/search/d04d10b7d468b2a6ee735747ec17bf61022d68c0/

this is m_bishop talking about 2 of the tumblr projects

reddit.com/r/cyberpunkaesthetic/comments/7el42d/guess_ill_post_one_of_mine_cyberpunk_inspired/

Wasn't hard to follow the breadcrumbs, I think OP is legit.

I read through the chatter in the wearables thread and there's a lot of speculation. So here are my thoughts:

> I don't think it's an arg. I think zinemaker wanted it to be anon, but being a redditfag, he can't into anon and fucked it up.

> I think he's just trying to have fun and interaction with others without getting close to people. A distraction, which would make sense if what anon said in other thread is true, that he got cucked, etc

> The zinemaker, from what it said in the zine, is doing this as a hobby.

> I didn't lurk around on the reddit boards to look for info but I might later.

> I'm not convinced he's forcing his own meme of corepunk on reddit.

> I do think it's a group of friends, one doing the zine, other's doing other projects like it says in the zine.

OP here. This is weird. You say 'with one of the images of the front of the magazine it is possible to go from it to this tumblr', but I can't figure out how. I google reverse-image searched it after I took it, and it returned no meaningful results.

In the last thread, someone claimed they reverse-image searched the picture I took of the sticker. But, again, I'd already done that and got nothing.

I used both tineye and google image search, only tineye gives the hit to tumblr. google's image search is really weak for getting exact hits but great for finding similar, but different, images, if you're doing something artsy. tineye is great at exact hits, or pics of the same object/pic but altered.

OP here,

> I think OP is legit.

That's nice, haha.

>I don't think it's an arg. I think zinemaker wanted it to be anon.

There's definitely an ARG, or game of some kind going on here. The Zine even says 'We play games', and the wireless access point is ARG-101.

Also, I don't think there's any anon aspect to it. Call it the Baader-Meinhof phenomenon, or maybe just because students are back and things are more active, but I'm seeing stuff everywhere now. I see stickers all over town, I've seen buttons worn in public and even a T-shirt. I suspect these people get together, and at least know one another. There was mention in the zine about art being stolen online, and so now they mostly keep it offline, and someone tried to make a T-shirt and got shut down. I get the sense that the idea of keeping stuff offline is new.

>>51658

>I used both tineye and google image search …

Well, I guess I learned something new today. Google Image Search sucks.

Okay, that checks out. I was honestly just about to accuse you of being m_bishop! I figured, since the account looks like it could be fake, it could be a plant. I'm not sure if I'm still leaning toward that, and everything in the zine being fiction, or not.

My roommate is into the idea of setting up his gopro to watch the drop site, so as soon as we get around to it, maybe we'll catch something.

>There's definitely an ARG, or game of some kind going on here. The Zine even says 'We play games', and the wireless access point is ARG-101.

Ok, my bad, I've not read everything with respect to this so, or didn't read closely enough. Didn't know about the AP name had arg in the title. I think you also mentioned he said you "passed" the first test or something like that? maybe I misread.

So you think the zine is part of the ARG? Have you posted all the zine pages yet? maybe we can all look at it, search it for clues, maybe one of us will spot something.

The impression I got from what I read is that there are events, that you can participate in once you "join up", which you've done. I didn't get the impression, that the zine was an ARG, but a "portal" to the games. But the AP named ARG-101, is probably a good indication that you're playing an ARG.

>Also, I don't think there's any anon aspect to it.

I was going off what anon said in wearable thread, that if it really is an ARG, it ruins it by being so traceable back to the creator, it's not a very good ARG. Unless the tumblr and reddit profile are staged?

>I was honestly just about to accuse you of being m_bishop!

I'm giving you the benefit of the doubt for now. I'm still not sure that you're not m_bishop, and you're trying to attract people to the reddit, but he doesn't seem like the kind of guy to own an iphone from my brief glance at reddit and tumblr.

Another theory is you set up this to see if you could convince us of your story, include real tumblr and reddit profiles as part of your narrative. The best lies are part truths. If that's the case, I'd give you 10/10 so far, but we've not had much to chew on yet.

I'm paranoid, but it's warranted. It wouldn't be the first time I've seen people run a complicated op on anons just to interact with them or to study the interation out of boredom or whatever, or to use as material for a bigger project (an example: jack posobiec made a thread in /pol/ last year, threatening to kill jack posobiec, no one was buying it and he realised it was going to get shoahed by mods, so he screencapped it and published that 8ch was death threatening him), or to influence and experience some form of power. Some of them were bigger effort than this, like the_guardian's larp as an alphabet on youtube, convinced some youtubers, he did some damage, scared some people, but he turned out to be a kid. Then there's qanon which started as a cuckchan troll, an elaborate larp, and now is something else. qmwaffen who was probably the worst one I've seen at it recently, but he still put a lot of effort into it and his excuse was he only worked on it while drunk, he was pretending to be /tech/ elite and someone willing to dox anons if they tried to link the boards with their shitty youtube accounts, worked on a couple of them, scared them good, then there was systemspace which I didn't get to witness first hand but heard it was from one dude setting up an elaborate scam/larp/cult. All happened in the last 2 years and not an exhaustive list.

To be honest, which ever way this plays out is fine, it's pretty interesting so far.

>My roommate is into the idea of setting up his gopro to watch the drop site, so as soon as we get around to it, maybe we'll catch something.

That's great, if you recognize him, from the tumblr, will you talk to him? Also, does he mention anything about what happens if you try to contact the dead drop person?

OP again … I'm between things, but wanted to reply to this immediately.

>Didn't know about the AP name had arg in the title.

The AP was named 'COREPUNK'. I just meant that it feels like something you'd definitely do in an ARG setting. I guess it doesn't explicitly say it's an ARG, but I was working off that impression?

Maybe I should re-evaluate that.

OP Here:

>>51641

I don't think that's a related image. Nearly everything I've seen is 'branded' with some variation of the cyber-spike-skull guy. The other art is, basically, just shitting on corporations. The only mention of 'Cyberpunk' is where they say they are not Cyberpunk.

>>51645

>we should also compare pic exif data of the images, with Ops photo as well

I haven't had a chance to do this yet. Has anyone?

>>51654

> I think he's just trying to have fun and interaction with others without getting close to people.

With all the local interaction, I'd posit the opposite. They're trying to get attention, just not online.

> The zinemaker, from what it said in the zine, is doing this as a hobby.

I don't know if I trust any of the content of the zine out of hand. I've been looking for a marketing angle since I found it, because this must have taken some brouzouf to pull off.

> I didn't lurk around on the reddit boards to look for info but I might later.

> I'm not convinced he's forcing his own meme of corepunk on reddit.

I haven't done much of anything on Reddit since school started, but report back if you do find anything.

> I do think it's a group of friends, one doing the zine, other's doing other projects like it says in the zine.

I never bought the 'lone gunman' theory.

> Has anyone been able to tell where this is happening at?

I'm understandably nervous about sharing where I go to school. I'm going to hold off on that, if that's okay. I'm pretty new to the chan stuff(this is the only board I've ever posted on, I read 4Chan for a while but couldn't get into it. Complained to someone, and they linked me here), and would like to remain anonymous.

> Unless the tumblr and reddit profile are staged?

I'm kind of leaning toward staged accounts at this point. It's hard to believe someone would go seven years into building a Reddit profile just for a game, but it's much easier to believe that someone with over 100,000 karma has multiple accounts, and over 7 years built up different reputations for each of them. For instance, you see the /u/m_bishop account that posts 90% Cyberpunk stuff? I'm wondering if that's the 'Cyberpunk' alt account, that he's been using to troll /r/Cyberpunk with for years, and he's just branching out.

OP Continued: (Who knew there was a max char limit?)

> So you think the zine is part of the ARG? Have you posted all the zine pages yet? maybe we can all look at it, search it for clues, maybe one of us will spot something.

I'll post more pics as soon as I get a minute. Honestly, there's an interview where it looks like they asked someone to just interview one of the guys to explain what it is. That'll be interesting to you. Then there's some other general stuff like an article about how commercials suck, another one explaining the difference between anonymous and psudo-anonymous that I actually really liked, that actually got me to go on 4Chan for a while. They're all sort of politically motivated articles about technology being controlled by the corporations and controlling the masses or whatever, but it's not vital information, just ranting bullshit.

>I was honestly just about to accuse you of being m_bishop!

>I'm giving you the benefit of the doubt for now.

Yeah, if you flip and say you've been m_bishop all along, I'm not going to be too shocked. You put together the connection and I can see someone leaving breadcrumbs, and I can see someone coming here and putting them together for people because they didn't do it on their own too.

>I'm paranoid, but it's warranted.

This whole paragraph tells me that you know a LOT about these kinds of things. I thought everyone on the board was an anon? How do these people, running these games, have names? Honestly, I don't know much of anything about this stuff. I just saw it around, and thought it looked pretty cool, and probably wouldn't have gotten this deep into it if not for 8chan. I just re-read how this all got started, because I honestly forgot why it was in that other thread, and realized I'd just mentioned it because I saw people with buttons walking around last semester, and connected that to a zine I picked up. I've always wanted to get more into electronics, and thought the zine would have more of that in it, but it didn't. It'd been tossed out before I posted here, and you guys encouraged me to follow up on it.

>That's great, if you recognize him, from the tumblr, will you talk to him? Also, does he mention anything about what happens if you try to contact the dead drop person?

I hadn't even thought about it. The first time I decided I would sit in the coffee shop and do my work while keeping an eye out, with the hopes of snapping a pic on my camera, but when I got there the dead drop had already happened. The message I got told me 'Go to Chronic Town after 1pm on Tuesday, and check the bulletin board'. I went there after my 8am class, checked the board, and it was already pinned there.

No one mentioned what would happen if you tried to contact him during the drop off.

I'm going to re-do the game today. I assume the drop off will be in the same place, and there's an arcade machine right there. I want to put my roommate's GoPro on top of the arcade machine, tilted down a little. I think they open before my morning class, so I'll get up early and get there when they open. My roommate is being a bitch about his camera getting stolen, but I really don't think it's a problem.

So, I'll be there to watch the camera as much as I can be, but I didn't plan on confronting him, no. What would I even say?

Yeah, I tried with tumblr, site scrubs the metadata I think, or he did, I've not tried with reddit/imgur, I don't know if they scrub the photos.

>I'd posit the opposite

They want to get close to people irl and not interact with them? creepy

>marketing angle

Trying to market cybercore brand, makes sense.

>I'm going to hold off on that, if that's okay.

Yeah, don't dox yourself here, you should also be using a vpn or tor browser for this site, same with 4chan but my vpn doesn't work there so I don't go there. 4chan is too fast now and the owners are the worst, here you can use it with js disabled, ads blocked, and post from tor depending on the board.

>I'll post more pics as soon as I get a minute.

Nice one, thanks

>I'm going to re-do the game today.

Nice one, good luck!

Maybe you can stream the gopro to your phone, so you can intercept if you see it being grabbed. Like a good samaritan would pick it up and drop it at the register, or a bad samaritan would just grab it, gopro's are awesome.

>What would I even say?

"Hey chum, how're you?" "good thanks, do I know you?", "I requested the drop, is this an ARG or something else?"

If it was me, I wouldn't confront him, I'd just recon. Try to figure out the game and take it from there.

Searching reddit for u/m_bishop is returning some interesting results. I'm still learning to search there, like searching his posts for keywords isn't so straightforward. I'll look for images he posts when I figure it out.

>How do these people, running these games, have names?

Drama and shitposting spills over into irc/discords/twitter/youtube/etc where they have usernames

Cross board, cross chan posting and some of them use:

- avatarfagging(posting images of the same anime/cartoon/tv character with every post)

- namefagging(using the name field)

- tripfagging(tripcodes are like UUIDs generated from a password)

Even if they don't use identify names at first we can almost always find their names:

Some boards have ID's and new users who try to fuck with said board don't know that and pretend to be multiple people or if there are no ID's some mods will help track their post history. When they don't know we know that they're samefagging, they give a lot away about themselves and their motives.

Some people type a certain way, have idiosyncrasies that are easy to spot like using british or american spelling, getting triggered by certain things, habitually saying the same thing a lot, consistent spelling mistakes, use of punctuation, capitalization, attitudes towards certain topics, only responding to certain topics, etc.

Some people use certain filenames, screenshot and webpageshot programs that generate certain filenames, some phone post, I can spot some anons of whom I know their post history or memes, without an ID based on what and how they're saying something, easier to do on the smaller boards. Sometimes I can tell from what someone is saying on another site like youtube or another board that they frequent another site/board, because each site and board has it's own vernacular and sometimes people forget where they are or don't care. A lot of the time they out themselves, think they can trust someone or reuse a username, use a username too similar to previously used one, thinking it wont matter as no one notices such things, some accidentally post images which self dox them, always drinkpost responsibly. Some boards disable self post deletion for this reason, sometimes a bored or motivated anon will track people down to their house with very little info, it's scary, I can give a good recent example if you want. So many ways to expose yourself even when trying to be anonymous. This is why companies want your metadata and it's good to try to be conscientious of this, to spoof data, switch up your spelling, use s instead of z, etc or don't if you don't think it matters.

We can use these ideas to pin together this story, build a case for it being an ARG or not, for it being a game or not.

There are a few boards here full of dox and info on people who tried to fuck with the boards anonymously and failed horribly.

That was me, I did the initial digging last thread. I'm not m_bishop I'm Akitaro, yes I'm still around. I got matches on his tumblr and reddit account, and did some keywork googling as well. The exact images don't match, but iirc keywords got me an imgur page where he had uploaded stuff and those pics matched to reddit and tumblr.

>>51654

>I don't think it's an arg. I think zinemaker wanted it to be anon, but being a redditfag, he can't into anon and fucked it up.

That's the really irritating thing. This would have been cool as fuck, but he went full shazbot and spoiled his own game for internet points.

>Baader-Meinhof

It's an incredibly effective phenomena if you can force it on yourself. Try becoming more aware of security cameras.

>>51664

It's definitely an ARG, he's made posts on reddit about making and running them.

Older people have lots more brouzouf to burn.

Chances are that it's a project where one person is taking a significant lead and doing most of the physical work, while others chip in ideas and art. That's how Jinteki happened, for example, although there was also a shitton of plagiarism.

>I'm understandably nervous about sharing where I go to school.

Understandable, but can you confirm at least that the state is PA?

>>51681

>How do these people, running these games, have names?

In this case, it was just his leddit username. Names are necessary outside of imageboards as a rule, even if you just keep them separate. IRC and Matrix handles, TOX, what have you. Or if you just want to be able to attribute works to yourself or make yourself contactable.

>GoPro

Excellent idea, hope nobody nigs it. Any way to conceal it? Is there a coatrack you could hang a throwaway jacket in with a hole cut in it?

>>51683

Easiest way to find info about someone on leddit is to just look at post history and use sorting options. Most upvoted is always good for getting interesting tidbits unless they spend lots of time in political circlejerks.

>>51688

Oh shit, it is PA. No doubt about it then, m_bishop is our man. ¥5 says that the handle is based on his meatspace name, too.

surely even ledditors aren't THAT retarded?

Maybe he just lifted that name from some piece of fiction or it's the name of one of the characters inside the ARG?

That aside I found a Twitter profile with the name m_bishop that might be related:

https://twitter.com/m_bishop

Seems to talk about online privacy/security but the last activity was 6 years ago and he mentions a "Canada Hockey House" and they seem to only have locations in Canada

His username seems rather generic we'll know if we're on the right track if he panics and goes into full "Delete fucking everything" mode

I'll take that action. m_bishop, as in 'Mutant Bishop', x-men character from the future where mutants are … well, more clearly black people than in the rest of the comics, where it's a pathetically thin veil for racism where minorities are painted as the superior race?

Anyway, definitely an X-men reference. Also, makes me seriously wonder if m_bishop is black and using a friend's pics online.

Women and blacks steal identities like fat kids steal cookies.

Good find on the Twitter account, looks like shit the reddit user would say.

My account got derezzed in less then ten minutes despite doing literally nothing expect looking at that one account for "suspicious behavior " maybe because i used a 10 minute Email address?

I didn't mention this Flickr profile under the name m_bishop earliest since it's empty and none of the names matched those of the twitter profile ,

I also found some interesting comments by having a quick glance at his Reddit profile and I remembered why I despise Reddit

>confirmation of what >>51698 said

>asking for info on hosting a MUD

>interested in ARGs

>confirmation that he also made the zines

This guy also seems like a massive hypocrite, complaining about online privacy while willingly sharing and pretty much cataloging private information about himself

and spewing typical anti consumerist rhetoric while admitting to owning Rolex watches and attempting to justify it by claiming that he only buys them because they are supposedly high quality even though I'm sure there must be cheaper but equally high quality no-name brands.

some irrelevant info to prove my point:

He's

>married and has a daughter

>works as a software engineer

>is bisexual and an Atheist

and that's just from ~2 months worth of posts

It honestly baffles me that anyone would willingly use Reddit and share this amount of private information like this.

Noticing the Static Shock and Bishop Deadpool comment …

I present to you: 'Shit M_Bishop says'

"Yeah, and if you don't want to get hassled by the cops, just quit being black!"

"Roses are Red.

Doritos are savory.

Americas prison system.

Is modern slavery."

"They don't hate minorities, they hate poor people.

I've talked to lots of white people who'll explain that they love Will Smith, and they love Micheal Jordan … they don't hate black people, or Mexicans. It's just that they hate the crime from that comes from their communities.

Because, it's okay to hate crime, so it's okay to hate communities that commit a lot of crime. So, then, it follows that it's just fine to hate someone you suspect of being a criminal, and since poor people are statistically more likely to be criminals, and black and Hispanic people are statistically more likely to be poor, then it's okay to hate them.

They're not racist. /s"

"Also, do a quick search on 'black man shot with registered firearm', because in America, having a legally owned and purchased gun is a great way to get shot if you're black."

"Black people can't really own guns safely in America."

So, I ran back through his Tumblr pics, just what he's posted, and I'm pretty sure I've got two here of the REAL M_Bishop.

It's so common for black people to steal white people's identities online, it's just a given. I bet he invites friends over to look at his stuff, then posts with them wearing it, so no one knows he's black.

Which lends credence to what >>51698 is saying.

MBison was supposed to be Called Vega and Balrog was supposed to be called Mike Bison. But they didn't want balrog associated with Mike Tyson the black boxer and vega was a better name for the cage fighter, which is why M Bison is called M Bison, it was supposed to be balrog's name.

>That's when I took a step back and realized what I REALLY wanted was maybe 10 'players' to interact with, who I could basically hand-pick (or at least easily exclude), in a situation where they could contribute as well.

>We'll see if it works. If there's one thing I'm always astounded by, it's how little people actually ever produce as adults. People don't 'make' much of anything. That's the main issue with contributors … people love to tell you they're a writer, but ask them to write something, and watch excitedly tell you 'next week!', only to ghost you for 3 months. Hahaha

Ooof, that projection, same post he says he can't give code to a project he just was bragging about a post earlier because he "didn't have any tutorial written up", what a lying faggot.

>Did you expect us to be grateful that some redditfag shilled his shitty ARG on here?

Honestly, you guys pay me a lot of attention. I get messages fairly regularly telling me you guys are talking about my Halloween costumes. I even documented the headphone build in detail, and a lot of that was people who said they found my reddit username on here and asked me for explanations. I've always been happy to help.

I just figured, since it was something I was doing already, and you were complaining about sub being dead, you'd get a kick out of it for a week or two. I had a plan to cut it off fairly soon, anyway.

>You even acknowledge that the cyberpunk community is full of retards that think "rainy city at night = cyberpunk"

>The release of the Cyberpunk 2077 video game will do enough damage we don't need your help.

Fair enough. Like I said on Reddit, I'm done. I really didn't think it would draw new people here, but give you guys an ARG to watch. Most ARGS are just videos with the occasional puzzle element.

I see posts for games, and stuff on here all the time. I thought you guys would appreciate the laugh.

>And why are you upset at us?

Well, I wanted to do something fun. I thought you'd have fun. Instead you got seething angry, as if I'd tried to 'lie' to you. It's a game. It was always a game. I didn't think anyone would take it seriously.

I'm not having fun. It doesn't look like you're having fun either.

I'm not upset with you, just saddened that it wasn't what I'd hoped for.

Anyway, let's just cut it off here. Sorry guys, I guess I misunderstood what you would find entertaining. Trust me, I'll never bother you again.

So OP was this idiot and he was samefagging in the thread. He also mixed his larp with his real ID like a fucking retard and we accidentally doxed the idiot.

>Can we get a BO or VOl to tell us just how severe the samfaging ITT is?

I asked for them in sticky but they haven't replied, they might have abandoned this place. I'm in the irc's but wanted to lurk a bit before asking,

LIKE BISHOP SHOULD'VE DONE HERE

I guess we don't need to now that we ruined his game.

When you go into another culture, you lurk, watch, learn. You acted shifty as fuck and lied. We picked up on that. You may not have to deal with shifty lying cunts on reddit, but we get them a lot here, and they're not playing. They're writing articles about hate speech, they're doing studies for shareblue wondering how to shut it down, they're trying to pray on people, marginalized people, the kind of people who come here, to kidnap them or worse. You came off rapey as fuck in your reddit. You would know all this is if you just lurked.

I can't be sure this is actually you or some anon having a giggle but you're probably reading this anyway.

Well if it makes you feel any better your attempt at an ARG crashed and burned horribly due to terrible opsec, but that zine and those wearable you built seemed pretty neat.

Speaking of the zine, it seemed to include an article that comlained about advertisements and as you now doubt noticed people don't like being advertised to, especially if it's done in such a clumsy way.

Like >>51739 said, if you come into a community as an obvious outsider and try to push something of yours, even if it's not for monetary gain, people will obviously object to that and try to fuck with you.The fact that you come from a site that's pretty much universally despised across imageboards didn't help either.

I and (presumably) other anons weren't even trying to doxx you at first, the fact that your private account was so blatantly associated with the ARG made people think it was part of it.

Seriously, if you try to do another one at least use a throwaway account, or better yet just search for information instead of asking for it on a public forum.

All of that aside why even advertise it here?

The whole thing seems mostly meatspace based and most of us couldn't participate if we wanted to.

And even if we had a meatspace agent and worked together to solve it, then the link to your sekkrit club MUD/BBS/whateverthefuck would just be publicly available to anyone, and that seems to go against the core idea heh of trying to keep it a small thing only accessible to a select few.

Good looking out anon

>He also changed the name of his jewtube account from "none none" to "Gregory Bishop" no doubt trying to throw us off.

I still see it called "none none", maybe named it back. none none does come up with a gregory bishop search so I think that's the case.

>"brought in tones of edgy teenage larpers?

>You even acknowledge that the cyberpunk community is full of retards"

Oh shit, no thanks. I prefer a quiet board with a handful of anons.

>>51742

>I and (presumably) other anons weren't even trying to doxx you at first

this, I think 1 or 2 anons, assuming it wasn't op/bishop samefagging and trying to deflect badly like he did elsewhere, didn't even believe the reddit account was a real account. Which is a fair assumption as that was

STUPID

of bishop.

>All of that aside why even advertise it here?

I think >>51737 touched on this, and it's something I didn't link until I read the post:

>Did you expect us to be grateful that some redditfag shilled his shitty ARG on here?

>Do you know so little about this site that you think we'd be grateful if this thing took off and some shitty jewtuber like the ones you watch made a video about this totally epic cyberpunk ARG and brought in tones of edgy teenage larpers?

My take:

>Ignore everything bishop said here and on reddit once he got caught.

>Take everything on reddit before this "arg" as a possible lie as he lies a lot.

>the ARG was staged.

>there was no player, bishop was OP player.

>bishop was some of the anon posts trying to guide the discussion.

>He posted the same how to make a marble hornets style youtube series twice and seemed excited about it, recently.

>We we're props for his youtube video, a fucking series of screenshots.

>>51737 is right, I'm certain of it:"made a video about this totally epic cyberpunk ARG"

bishop is all "style" with no substance, this theory fits that perfectly. The lazy youtubers guide: "just get anon to do the work, they can't complain, it's just memes, amiriteguis?"

You're all being too nice and you're giving him good advice. He was going to use you and flood this place with reddit and youtube retards. Please stop feeding this shazbot advice.

Fucking snitches.

>Honestly, you guys pay me a lot of attention.

It was interesting enough to make me check the board once or twice a week, I just wanted to see if anyone would find who you were. In meatspace.

>and you were complaining about sub being dead

>sub

Neck yourself.

>Instead you got seething angry

We've always been angry. We're especially angry about cancerous redditors infesting our little corner of the internet.

>It doesn't look like you're having fun either.

I had lots of fun, for like, all of two hours. I found most of your stuff in the first 15 minutes, but still. If I'd been paying closer attention, I'd have noticed that one post you made on leddit - "Don't forget to target yourself so you can show them that you are a victim too".

>I'm not upset with you, just saddened that it wasn't what I'd hoped for

Lurk a minimum of 6 months before posting on any imageboard. No exceptions.

Seriously. You went to an imageboard, and somehow thought you wouldn't be tracked down? If I hadn't dropped it after an evening, I'd have your meatspace name and would have sent you some delicious pizza.
