Hello chummers. I decided to start a PirateBox and I need your help to fill it up.
The hardware I'm using is a tplink wireless router with a 32gb drive.
The current contents are a bunch of programming and electronics books and a few others like "Steal" this book.
What would you want to see on this thing/what would you want to add to it?

Eh, some music, some pictures, some webms, some games, some demos maybe too.
A fine mix of both stale meme and obscure hipster stuff for variety.
The main idea of PirateBox, as I see it, is to let it be filled up by other people.

And by other people I mean in the field, not by asking strangers online for ideas.

Although interesting idea would be to find another piratebox and just rip it's content.

Ooh. You've reinvented a public FTP server, nay BBS. How exciting.

I completely agree, but I think for it to be interesting it should have something already inside.

On second thought if you've only got 32GB shouldn't you fill it with arty shit? Apart from knowledge on computing, I can't see how people will stand to gain from any of the other topics on mechanics or geology.

Depends on who opens it honestly. Maybe some people will find a new passion.
On a sidenote, I'll be bringing it to a tech conference in about a month. Any tips for reducing the chance of getting into trouble?

What kind of trouble? There's nothing illegal about a piratebox.

You could fill the entire space with texts about agriculture if you wanted to but it's of limited utility to nerds at a technology conference. Books should either be fictional or detail how to be a handy gentleman. Just the basics. Workshop manuals, self improvement books and the like. Leave out the motor-racing specifics and the water toxicity experiments.

Facilitation of copyright infringement is a big deal to burgerlanders. I would say it's more of a social experiment, and less of an effective means of thieving copy-protected materials.

you can add it to an openmesh/i2p network, and join the effort to make a FOSS internet.
Although idk how well a $25 router will accomplish that.

It would be cool if /cyber had a guide of recommended content and technology to consume which could then populate the priatebox.
You should probably have cyberpunk manifesto on it.

It would be awesome to add a TOR routed open network through it as well.
