Unfortunately, many NEETs across the chans can sympathize with his love life in the movie.

Sorta. Went to a movie, was awkward and uncomfortable the whole time even though it was more of a friend thing. Never did it again. Also there was a chaperone.

Can someone explain to me the significance of "cells" and "interlinked"? I mean, it's obvious that it's examining whether he's having any emotional responses that he shouldn't have, like some modernized version of the Voight-Kampff, but why those words?
Amazing movie though. I'm so glad I caught it in theatres.

They're just selected triggerwords that he's been conditioned to repeat during the examination. You're right that it's an evolved/repurposed form of Voight-Kampff.

Some people praise it but hardcore Blade Runner fans complain they butchered the original idea.

It was a lot more focused on the "big ideas" than the original blade runner. Pretty much everything that happens has some symbolic meaning or relation to the ideas of free choice or slavery or something. You can still watch it as a straight up detective movie and it will be good, but I felt like the focus was on the metadata. Whether that's good or bad is personal taste.
It felt like a European movie to some degree, but it wasn't one of those slow paced literary movies where nothing really happens.

>hardcore Blade Runner fans complain they butchered the original idea.
As a hardcore fan I don't think they butchered the original idea at all. In my opinion they gave the original story a life beyond just the city. Of course no matter how they made the sequel, there would have been a group that complained. Also what "hardcore fans" are complaining, youtube e-celebs?

The poem is a way to illicate emotionally responses. As you recite the word, it will have new meanings as the prompt gives it new context.
So you’ll start thinking about the words in different ways, and the memories you can connect.
Read the whole poem, it’s therapeutic if you feel disconnected from your world.
