Has nobody seriously mentioned ProFont? Easily the most /cyber/ font but the a and o are too easy to mix up. Gohufont is nice and simple. No flourishes or anything. If I'm moving away from bitmap I either go Anonymous Pro or Source Code Pro but when you have font smoothing everything looks decent so what's the point?
The gohufont png is shit so go to font.gohu.org if you want to really see it.

Monochrome text is the easiest way to digest information, no images no animations, no Web 2.0 distractions. Amber and green phosphors are easy on the eyes, particularly in dark conditions which is what everyone's meat space dwelling should be in

Why not? Animations can give you a psychological cue for what something does.

Bull fucking shit. Green is a terrible color for your eyes, and so is anything on 000 black.

Where are you getting these numbers from? UTF-8 doesn't conform to either of those numbers
>Green is a terrible color for your eyes, and so is anything on 000 black.
The human eye is most attuned for green, which is why NVGs typically use green hues instead of black and white monochrome. Blue is the only color that is bad for your eyes. There's nothing wrong with black, and it's a much better background than glaring white. If looking at a dark surface hurts your eyes or gives you a headache than it's psychosomatic.

Typography is a very underrated art. I think anyone who uses a computer as much as people here do owe it to themselves to learn a little about it. It is incredibly easy to make fonts and typefaces for use on your computer. It could add a little bit of personal pizazz to your cli.
Check pic related book out y'all, pic is 3rd edition but I think there is a 4th edition of it, but it is a very good beginners guide to typography.

>No it isn't. You've just gone from base 16,581,375 to base 255.
Epic misunderstanding.Everything is stored in base 2 anyway. There are 255 extended ASCII characters because 2^8 = 255. Not base 255. Unicode is similar (with more bytes per character) except not all unicode code points are yet defined. Nothing is base 16,581,375 nor would representing things in a base like that be practical or /cyber in anyway

He might be using "base" incorrectly, but what he is trying to say is that intentionally handicapping your truecolor monitor to monochrome scale only removes information from screen.
I'm also not sure where number 16,581,375 comes from, he probably meant 16,777,215 (2^24 for three 8-bit channels).
