The Israeli State is only semi-secular. Netanyahu and his Likud party are the farthest thing from secular. They want to make the Talmud the law of the land, and I think they've been doing that incrementally. Obviously the way the country started is not secular in nature either.

The founding was definitely secular, but you're right about the trend towards orthodox Judaism. Maybe it should say "secular/talmudic"
