One should not view Paul's letters as divinely inspired from the first to the very last letter, since he himself states (1 Cor. 7:10) that his teaching is his own, not the Lord's, and some of his precepts are not mandatory rules, but merely advice (1 Cor. 7:6). Ultimately, Christianity is the religion of Christ, not of the apostles; Christians follow Christ, not the apostles.
