No. I'm no expert, but I know enough to see that he's spouting misinformation, conflating several stories into one, and has no idea about the timeline of events.
The newly revealed "Meltdown" bug, first discovered in July last year, affects every Intel x86 CPU since the Pentium Pro (1995), when they introduced "out-of-order execution". Spectre, the other newly revealed bug that is related to Meltdown, was discovered in June last year, and affects every CPU that can perform "speculative execution", i.e. virtually every modern CPU regardless of manufacturer or architecture. Intel's Management Engine, which is the hidden subsystem/backdoor bullshit, was introduced in 2008, and is definitely NSA garbage, but it's not related to this at all although it does make these new bugs somewhat redundant, kek. NSA's hacking tools were indeed leaked in 2016, but that also has nothing to do with this.
The "30%-50% performance drop" caused by the KPTI patches for Meltdown (which prevents the bug from being exploited, so all his FUD regarding that is made irrelevant anyway), is a massive exaggeration. It only applies to operations in kernel space for a start, not user space, and will mainly impact servers. Certain specific tasks may see anywhere from a 0% to 30% decrease in performance, but the overall performance of the system will not be affected anywhere near as much. Keep in mind this is only in very specific scenarios, the affects of the patch won't be noticeable to general users at all.
I don't really know where he's going with the crypto stuff at the end, I think he just knows it's been a hot topic recently, so he's throwing it in there to generate more interest in his thread, relevance be damned.

No, I'm not defending Intel or ZOG or the NSA, I'm just trying to give a more accurate picture of the situation than that anon did. He clearly went in with the idea of making a FUD thread inspired by Meltdown/Spectre, and then strung various other tech and infosec half-truths together willy-nilly in an attempt to scare anyone with no prior knowledge of this stuff. Maybe he's false-flagging and intentionally spreading bullshit, or maybe he's just an overly enthusiastic lad that didn't take a minute to research any of this stuff before posting, I don't know, but what I do know is that he's largely talking out of his arse.

Everyone fucks up and makes things awkward from time to time, even normalfags. I believe the real difference between us and normies isn't anything genetic or predetermined like some gloomy cunts believe (minus actual illnesses and disorders), but whether or not you let the fear of fucking up hold you back from taking risks. Avoiding risks leads to lack of practice and experience, and the logical conclusion of continually doing so is that you become a social outcast, a shut-in NEET, and worse.
Congratulations on becoming an arse slapping normie though lad, tell us how her bum felt.

I say stop posting kekistani pictures here and attempting to roast them all the time, because it's almost as cringe-inducing as they are. Most of us had our fun taking the piss out of that lot in 2015 and 2016 after gamergate died down, when all the faggots from reddit and twitter started having meetups, and several of the e-celebs started doing talks. Bringing them up three years on, long after anyone here has mentioned any of them in either a positive or negative light, is just sad.
I get it, they're a deformed-looking bunch of lefties, kikes, queers, nu-males, shitskins, and trannies, who serve as a perfect visual argument against liberalism and soy consumption, but if you could do me a favour and never bring them up again, like most people outside of their little group have been doing for a while now, I'd be very grateful.

I don't remember the name of it because it was years ago, but there was at least one VN where towards the end a girl starts breaking the fourth wall and fucking with the player and their computer in a "scary" way. Plus just horror VNs in general, they've been around for years, and a lot of them start off innocent and progressively turn darker. Try searching various tags on https://vndb.org , although it's worth noting that if you're new to VNs, most of them are 10 - 30 hours long, some even over 50 hours, and make DDLC seem more like a visual pamphlet than a visual novel.

I was 7 at the time, I just avoided him for the most part because he was a fairly intimidating looking bloke from Sunderland, who would sometimes take the piss out of me. Don't think I ever had a conversation with him in the 8 and a half years that he lived here, although I occasionally played with one of his 3 kids from his previous relationship that was a similar age to me. He (mum's ex-boyfriend) worked nights stacking shelves at Tesco which helped, but it meant me and my sister had to be extremely quiet after school while he slept (we weren't allowed to play outside so we had to be indoors).
On weekends we went to our dad's "house" (actually our grandparent's house because dad moved back in with them after my mum kicked him out of his own house), so I wasn't around him (mum's ex-boyfriend) a whole lot. In the evening's, they'd just sit in the living room watching telly, and I'd be in the little room next door on the computer with the door shut, 1. because I was already becoming a recluse, and 2. because my mum used to smoke indoors until I was old enough to convince her not to. I don't miss having to hold my breath just to get a drink and a biscuit.

It's actually where he and my mum met. My mum was originally working nights at a care home in the middle of nowhere pretty much on her own, so my dad suggested she apply for a job at the nearby Tesco because there'd be more people around and maybe she could make some friends (parents moved to this town a few years prior and they hadn't made any new friends). She ended up making a "very good friend", and before long that "friend" was sleeping in the bed my dad used to sleep in.
>>63674
I'd actually say it's more dysfunctional now. Back then, my mum and her boyfriend would just sit in silence watching telly, and they'd sleep in the same bed. With her current one (a scouser who I'm certain has a <100 IQ), they have constant arguments about every little thing, and they sleep in separate rooms most nights. When he moved in, my sister had so many rows with him that she unofficially moved into her boyfriend's parents house (she soon left him though, got with another lad (because he had a car) a week later and moved into his parent's house, had a child with him at 19, moved into a housing association flat together, had another kid, and now they're in so much debt they can't actually leave or pay me back my £330 for their holiday. It's only a matter of time before their family falls apart at this rate, as much as it pains me to say it because I'd hate that to happen to my nieces).

Well, all that would do is make it harder for her fiance to do his job ("self-employed" builder), and thus harder for them to ever pay me back. I get that they're in the shit at the minute, but my sister is an absolute moron. Us three were sitting at the dinner table over Christmas, and she started asking him if he would pay for her to get a new tattoo. I felt like reaching over and decking her, but instead I just said "I think there are more important things you need to be spending your money on right now" through gritted teeth, and she just looked at me with a "ugh, don't tell me what to do" face.
Maybe I should teach her daughter to ask her when she's going to pay me back.

Sorry lad, I was sleeping, in fact I'm still in bed. A £150 amp in guitar land (a magical place filled with overpriced gear and delusional folk on a quest for "tone") is a cheap amp, but there are several factors that come into play when it comes to bass.
One of those things is that guitar amps are shit speakers by design, because they're intentionally trying to sound like the average PA speaker from the 1940s - 50s. That's the sound people know and expect from guitar amps, and to a lesser extent bass amps (unless you've got a cheap one, which is just a rebranded guitar amp, but marketing won't tell you that). Due to bass guitars coming later, and the technology available when they were still a relatively new instrument, there are different expectations, which I'll get into in a moment.
The main distinction between guitar amps and bass amps is the size of the driver (and the cabinet it's contained in), which is directly responsible for the frequencies it can reproduce. The rule of thumb is that lower frequencies require larger drivers, higher frequencies require smaller ones. That's why to get a good representation of the full audio spectrum, like in a good hi-fi or studio monitor setup, you require a "tweeter" (high frequencies, like cymbals and bird whistles), a "woofer" (mid-range frequencies, like speech and a dog's bark), and a sub-woofer (everything below the vocal range). Guitar amps and small bass amps usually consist of a single, fairly shitty woofer, which will give you a very mid-rangey sound that cuts off around 100 - 200 Hz. You won't get any room shaking lows (80 Hz and below) or sparkling highs (8 kHz and above) out of it, even with oodles of EQ. For reference, the fundemental frequency of the lowest E on a bass guitar is about 40 Hz, so you're probably only ever hearing the harmonics when using your amp.
Another factor is the acoustics of the room. A room of any size can only reproduce frequencies that will physically fit inside the room, and if they can't, they'll get cancelled out by their own reflections. There are also "hot spots" and "null points", where the shape of the room and position of the objects inside it will make different frequencies sound louder or quieter (sometimes practically silent) depending on where you're standing. I don't know if you've ever moved your bass amp into different rooms, but you might have noticed that it sounds a bit shit and bass-less in your bedroom, but sounds much more full and bottom heavy in the living room.
When you DI an electric instrument (by plugging it directly into a mixing desk or audio interface), as opposed to plugging it into a mic'ed up amp, you bypass all of the above phenomenon, and just get exactly what the pickups are capable of reproducing. With electric guitars, this often zounds horrible, because you're getting all these nasty sounding high frequncies (especially from effects pedals) and an unnaturally character-less tone, that you don't get when you plug into glorified early-mid 20th century PA speakers, which mask and shape the sound. That's why software-based amp sims are a thing, to make guitars sound the way that people expect them to sound.
Bass guitars on the other hand, actually get "enhanced" when DI'd, because the lower frequencies are able to come through without any amp or acoustic limitations, and the high end isn't painfully bright or horrid sounding. DI'ing bass guitars has been a common way of recording them since the 70s, which was probably the most defining decade for the instrument, so you don't hear it and think "that sounds wrong". If anything it sounds more correct.

Plugging your headphones into an amp headphone socket IS DI'ing, as you're bypassing the main amp and speaker. It's just the direct signal, maybe going through the EQ circuitry which is just a couple of analogue filters, and then straight into an internal headphone amp.
With FL, first check the audio settings and make sure you interfaces driver is selected (and not ASIO4All or something like that), and check the driver settings to make sure you're operating at 44.1 kHz sample rate, 24 bit. Then you just go to FL's mixer, select a channel, then on the top right you can select an input from the black dropdown box. When setting levels, leave the software faders where they are at this stage, turn your bass's volume control all the way up, and set your interfaces input gain to a level where you're never going to clip (hit 0dBFS) even if you really whack the strings hard. To record, I recommend using Edison, which you can open in one of the effects slots on the right of the mixer.

If you've only ever played the PS1 version, I highly recommend the PC version, which has a much more atmospheric "dusk" lighting mode, as well as being higher resolution, a consistent frame rate of 30 FPS, higher ped/traffic count, and having an uncensored intro FMV (they cut some violent bits and changed the ending for the ps1 version).

Tinder has a learning curve, you'll suck at it at first but you will get better, so just don't take it seriously.
1. Don't put a lot of effort into your bio.
2. Don't be afraid to actually ask girls out, all they can say is no and the whole point of the app is to meet people.
3. Don't swipe right on 100% of girls, it messes your ELO rating up and actually gets you fewer matches.

good advice, I swiped right a lot and duffed the ELO.
actually take like 5 seconds to look at each profile and think would you want to spend time with her, message quick (maybe right after the match) and try to get it off tinder ASAP.
Be fun, don't over-think anything or try to be clever, it will just confuse/rustle them.
I think having bad convos fucked the ELO too, not sure.
I have managed to get a few dates from it though tbqfh I'd recommend getting good irl - find a way to be near roasties in your age range and actually make conversation.
Tinder is just casting a net, and while it's a skill in and of itself it's the least important of the three steps.
>Cast Roastie net (Tinder is a good net, maybe the best non-irl net)
>Get a Roastie fish out of the net (Much better to do quickly and with confidence)
>Penetrate the Roastie fish
Not that I'm particularly good at it yet, but that's the process.

Odd, well first, set the monitoring knob on your interface to only monitor playback rather than monitor inputs (that's a direct, untouched, zero-latency signal from the input to your headphones without going through the computer - useful, but we don't want it right now). Then go into FL's audio settings, ASIO settings, and if you can find it, check that the audio buffer length is no less than 10ms. That should be more than enough, but if it still crackles, try 20ms. If it still crackles, try turning the interface off and on again, sometimes they can be weird like that.

Wew lad, that's actually quite impressive in a weird way. In the meantime, I definitely recommend updating to a more recent FL version, and also updating your interface drivers if there's a newer one, just to help rule out any software-related issues. Hopefully it's not a hardware problem.

Search for "backing tracks for bass" on youtube, you'll find loads of videos like this https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=bO4IiUE0D_c that you can jam along to. Regarding what to play, try focusing in on something you've heard somebody else play that you liked, figure out how they did it, and figure out what makes it work. It might be something like "oh, these particular notes work well when this chord plays, what's the relationship here, how do they relate to the chord, are they part of another chord/scale that compliments this one, where can I go from here", and then just toy with it and practice it until it's just part of your improv lexicon that you can pull out when appropriate. Once you've built up a library of little riffs and tricks into your fingers, it's just about mixing and matching them, finding the right moments and contexts for them, and varying/modulating them in different ways to make it sound unique.

"Music theory" is really just the sounds and elements of music being translated into a traditional spoken/written language. It helps you express musical ideas and concepts to other people without having to play it to them, but it won't help you hear things you can't hear or play things you can't play. What I'm getting at is that there's the language of music, and then there's the theory behind it, which isn't a requirement to learn the language. A person can read and write decent English, huge epic novels even, without ever knowing what a "conjuction" or a "past participle" is.
The same goes for music, you don't need to know what "mixolydian mode" is or what "retrograde inversion" is in order to write a song that uses those things. You just need ears, a sense of tone, a sense of harmony, a sense of rhythm, and a lot of practice.

He is, although that's more about getting the kid out of solo/lead performer mode, and into backing rhythm mode.
Music is an art, something to be felt and expressed, you don't have to perform an autopsy on it in order to make good music that you and others can enjoy, you just have to learn how to express it. That's not to say it's completely subjective and that any old shit can pass as good (just because you're expressing something doesn't mean you're expressing something good), but it's something that's best learned in the same way a child learns to walk, or to speak. Not by studying textbooks and overanalysing everything, but by observing, copying, and repeating, with maybe a little bit of conscious thought here and there.
Obviously if you want to become a classically trained whatever, you have to learn all the bullshit, but in the contemporary music world it's not needed. With an active interest in music, you'll pick a lot of it up anyway, without making it a main focus.

Meanwhile, pewdiepie is pretty much blacklisted from trending (unless it's about the Paul bros), the majority of his videos get demonetised unless he massively self-censors and avoids "sensitive subjects", and his fully filmed youtube red series got cancelled at the slightest whiff of media outrage. For me, the big issue with brit/pol/ is that, unlike us who had a clean break from 4chan britfeel, brit/pol/ seems to have splintered off into several different boards and groups and factions. It's a lot of dramatically we'd prefer to avoid.

Across the room (but still within reach of my bed) I've got a 42" LCD TV with a fat PS2 (FMCB + 350GB hard drive installed, component cable for 480p), a fat 60GB PS3 with CFW, and also my PC hooked up to it. I mostly just play games on my PC though kek.

Good choices lad, Dino Crisis 2 in particular is one of my favourite PS1 games.
>Never really been able to get into JRPGs or RPGs beyond a casual level
I'm in a similar boat. I've started almost every single JRPG (or at least one game from the series) from the 80s to the 00s, but I've never completed any of them, usually not even reaching halfway. There's just too many games out there for me to keep playing the same one for 30 - 120 hours, and a lot of them have very similar themes, character archetypes, plot devices, gameplay, etc., to the point where they all sort of roll into one in my head. Western RPGs on the other hand I just plain don't like, unless they're basically action-adventure games like TES and Witcher 3. D&D-based RPGs like Eye of the Beholder or Baldur's Gate bore my pants off.
>FF Tactics
Not my sort of thing personally, I tried to get into it but I was just falling asleep. A lot of people rave about it though so take that as you will. You might also want to check out the Disgaea series, a couple of them were on PSP, same sort of gameplay.

There's numerous regular netherlads here, myself usually being one of them, so I don't know how you can assume from that one post that he's the exact one you've interacted with in the past.
I sort of agree though, I don't know why you would choose to go ahead with a roastie who admitted to currently being in a."struggling" relationship it's her fault it's struggling, let's be honest here beforehand, and yet all the while has been flirting and coming on to a colleague of hers (and probably others too) for ages. All the warning signs were there, and she even had the decency to own up to it before you did anything regrettable, but apparently that couldn't stop your dick from taking over your conscience like an absolute nigger.
I don't think you deserve everything bad that's ever happened or will happen to you, but you at least deserve anything bad that happens relating to these actions. I wonder if her boyfriend or whatever is even white. She might even have a few STDs, if not from him, then from one of the other countless chaps she sucked off before you.

He's a pessimist and always has been, he even admits it. I think he said something along the lines of pessimism being a kind of armour that protects you. And anyway he uses different measures to the ones we do. For instance, if we managed to eject all the pakis and niggers from Britain, even if it meant bloodshed, we would probably say that was a good result. For Peter it would literally signal the end of the country.

I've always wondered if I'd be able to genuinely convince you lads that I, a NEET hikki KHV, had met a girl, hit it off with her, became a couple, etc, just by making up and telling a very realistic sounding story over several months. Like, even with all the time in the world to plan it out and make the plot consistent, would I even be able to come up with a believable story if I've never had any kind of first-hand romantic or sexual encounter myself, nor really interacted with the outside world during the last decade? I'm not sure that I could, I think it's possibly so unlikely to get a gf in my current state and situation that I couldn't even lie about getting one.

Powerful stuff, always amazes me how much emotion some composers can get out of music, considering how "unnatural" it is. I've always wondered if there really is an instinctive emotional response within us from certain notes and chords, or if there's just a set of learned emotional responses from our musical experiences as infants, and we rely on external elements like dance, acting, storytelling, our life experiences, etc, to establish the "right" responses. Basically, I wonder if the emotional response to tonality and harmony that most adults can feel, is instinctive or learned.
If you show a pre-talking and pre-toddling baby a brightly coloured picture with grass, trees, and fluffy bunnies, they get a positive emotional response and show signs of happiness and joy, and if you show them something terrifying and moody and dark, they get a negative one and show signs of fear or upset, but this sort of makes sense when it comes to how we've evolved. It's useful in survival to feel positive or negative responses to visual cues instinctively, because people being fine with wandering out at night with no light, or entering dark caves that could be filled with predators, would spell the end of our species.
But music is more abstract, you don't hear suspended 4th chords or harmonic minor scales in nature, and they are solely the result of human science and art. It's evolved throughout history too, the further you go back, the simpler it becomes, and it varies somewhat from culture to culture as well. In my experience with my nieces, babies don't seem to show any emotional response to tonality or harmony, they just recognise the fact that there's noise, and at best will detect a rhythm (which makes sense, we have rhythms inside our heartbeat, in drinking milk, in crying, and so on). It only seems to be once the child has become very familiar with what songs and music are, and have learned to sing and dance on a basic level, that they start feeling any emotion at all from it, which leads me to believe it's more of a learned behaviour than an instinctive one.

Once we did get talking though we found we actually got on quite well. A year ago this would've seemed impossible but the more I've actually made myself go out and speak to people the better I've gotten at it. I still feel like I make a lot of mistakes, though I'm starting to realize how a lot of the time it's all in my head, my self-doubting tendencies trying to reassert themselves. Besides worshipping me as a deity for my strange clothing and apparent ability to wield magic, I'm not sure, but I doubt they'd have felt anything similar to us. There are no existing examples of the music they would have played, besides Roman accounts during warfare and a few simple instruments, but I would imagine it was relatively simple stuff: banging on drums, blowing large horns, chanting, etc. I can't imagine they'd have enjoyed some of the more dissonant or chromatic parts of Chopin's piece (which made even me wince at times), and I'm not sure they would have gotten any real emotional response from the nicer bits. It would be a bit like playing it to a toddler I guess; they'd recognise it as sound, and notice the various rhythms, but they wouldn't be getting any emotion from it, except maybe feeling afraid if it was loud.
The Romans on the other hand probably would've enjoyed it a lot more, they were far more advanced when it came to music thanks to the Greeks. The Greeks had developed proper tunings, scales, and more advanced instruments centuries prior. In fact, in doing a bit of research just now, I'm getting somewhat of an answer to my previous post:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Music_of_ancient_Greece
>The names for the various modes derived from the names of Greek tribes and peoples, the temperament and emotions of which were said to be characterized by the unique sound of each mode. Thus, Dorian modes were "harsh", Phrygian modes "sensual", and so forth. In his Republic, Plato talks about the proper use of various modes, the Dorian, Phrygian, Lydian, etc. It is difficult for the modern listener to relate to that concept of ethos in music except by comparing our own perceptions that a minor scale is used for melancholy and a major scale for virtually everything else, from happy to heroic music.

Kek, I saw that in another wikipedia article. There's some more really interesting stuff actually, like this:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Music_of_ancient_Greece
>It is a commonplace of musicology to say that harmony, in the sense of a developed system of composition, in which many tones at once contribute to the listener's expectation of resolution, was invented in the European Middle Ages and that ancient cultures had no developed system of harmony—that is, for example, playing the third and seventh above the dominant, in order to create the expectation for the listener that the tritone will resolve to the third.
So the whole phenomenon of "resolution" in music is a social construct as well. I think it's fairly safe to say at this point that any and all emotion we find in music is something we learn, rather than something we're born with.

Yeah I know, it's just difficult for me to suddenly implement a major dietary shift. It was fairly easy to substitute food A with food B, like I did with swapping chocolate cereals with porridge + banana, sliced-ham sandwiches with peanut butter sandwiches, and chocolate minirolls with fruit, but actually adding extra meals in has proven much more of a challenge. Besides the "having to ask my mum to buy more food even though I don't know what to ask for" struggle, I'm very much the type to get carried away with whatever I'm doing, and I often put off eating for hours, even if I'm really hungry, to the point where my hands and feet aren't able to keep a good temperature.
I'm also doing a lot worse when it comes to showering, which sort of factors into the whole "life routine" thing. I had a shower yesterday, which was the first time since Christmas Eve, which was the first time since the start of December. My room has shrunk significantly as well over the last 18 months, thanks to a combination of having more stuff, and me just giving less of a shit about anything besides using my computer all day. I really haven't been looking after myself at all.

I've never given it much thought before tbh, but my take would be that music epitomizes man's mastery over nature; the systematization of a vast chaotic array of auditory phenomenon into a neat toolkit to the purpose of creating order and beauty in his moving onwards and upwards towards the divine, with the huwhite man's creations being its highest manifestation.

Not bad, that sound was very out of date by 1990 though. Also it sounds like it's got pre-emphasis, like most CDs of the day (especially those from Japan). It's basically a built-in treble boost done by the mastering studio that would get corrected by analogue circuitry inside CD players on playback, in order to mask the hiss they generated back then (a lot of them had 14 bit DACs instead of 16 bit to cut costs, lower bit depth effectively means there's a higher noise floor). I wish normies would learn about this and correct it, so every CD upload from the 80s - early 90s didn't sound bright as fuck and completely bass-less.
Found a FLAC version of the album online ( https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/0B7WNLEgjqBEecnFDMXcxQURVcVk ), here's a digitally de-emphasised version I made of that particular track: https://my.mixtape.moe/abacck.mp3
Notice how much less tinny it sounds and how much more the bass stands out compared with the youtube upload.

I don't understand the technical stuff but it sounds better. Does the stuff on this channel have pre-emphasis? Since I can't find any downloads for these albums I was going to rip them off youtube and separate the tracks myself, but since I don't really know what I'm doing I thought I'd end up with sub-par quality and haven't really had the time to delve into it.

That record and a lot of stuff on that channel is recorded from vinyl, pre-emphasis of this kind only applies to CDs. It's fairly obvious once you know what to listen for, any time you hear an 80s or early 90s track that sounds really tinny or ear piercing, and you can hardly hear the bass, that's likely to be pre-emphasis.
That does have fairly heavy digital noise reduction applied to it though (whenever the tracks fade out, you can hear it sound slightly artificial and "watery" like a low quality mp3, before it disappears), and it sounds like there's a slight stereo imbalance, meaning the cartridge was slightly misaligned when it was digitised (can be corrected in editing, but they didn't bother or notice).
Ripping music from youtube will always be sub-par quality, that's just how it is, not just because of the re-encoded nature of it, but because normies always manage to butcher the source material one way or another. With obscure records like these though, a lot of which have never seen a CD or digital release, the only way to get the highest fidelity copy of it is to actually buy the record yourself, hope it doesn't get smashed in shipping, also hope the person who owned it before you didn't ruin it while they owned it, and then digitise and edit it yourself. It's quite a hassle.

Thinking about buying the parts and building one of these DIY 808 clones lads. Sounds identical to the real thing if built correctly, but only costs about 1/6th the price of a genuine TR-808 off ebay (£550-ish VS about £3000 - 3500), and with the benefit of not being dodgy 35-year-old electronics. It's a big project, and I'm not particularly experienced with soldering, but I could probably get my dad to help me out if I get stuck, he worked in electronics for years and did it as a hobby when he was younger.

Watching Star Wars Episode I since it's been so many years since I last saw it. The film is pretty 'racist' by today's standards. Gungans are total wogs and the Neimoidians have a strong Chink accent. Also Watto is a kike and makes me think Lucas got tired of dealing with Jews.

Whenever there's something you've got to do, you've just got to force yourself to do it. Obviously it's easier to do nothing about it, it's easier to get out of bed in 10 minutes rather than spending the energy to get out when you wake up, you're still going to have to do it anyway though.

I spend about 3 or 4 hours on average lying awake in bed before I get up, sometimes I'm there for 6 or 7. Years ago I used to just stay in bed all day, had my bed pushed up against my computer so I never had to get up, besides trips to the toilet or making breakfast/lunch. If procrastination was an Olympic sport, I wouldn't win anything because I'd neglect to sign up until it was too late.
>I think a lot will change when you actually find a job that you're alright doing

I tried fluoxetine, but I think that did more harm than good.
In the short term it did help with my depression, it didn't really improve my mood, I felt less bothered about the shitty things in my life. I wouldn't necessarily count that as a good thing but it allowed me to function for a while. After maybe 6 months I just started to feel nothing, just empty and not really feeling anything.
I quit after than and had a really bad bout of depression that was probabley the worst it had been but then I felt pretty great after that. I'd still say a big mushroom trip is better.

Never used phenibut, but I've been on a few different anti-depressants (including fluoxetine) at fairly high dosages, and all my experiences were negative. They basically turned me into a zombie, killing me off inside without me actually having to die. That whole period of my life is a fuzzy blur in my head, I spent most of it just lying on my bed staring at the wall feeling absolutely nothing, occasionally phasing in and out of sleep. My parents have told me they got really worried because it was like I wasn't really there, and at some point I went cold turkey on them. I felt depersonalised for a long time afterwards, it was maybe a year or two until I felt that I was the same person as my pre-anti-depressant self.

I have to agree with you there lad.
On the topic of slow motion videos though, for years I've desperately been wanting to see high quality footage of a CRT TV that's recorded at such a high frame rate, that you're able to clearly see the beam scanning across the screen horizontally (which has a frequency of about 15.7kHz, as opposed to vertically, which is only 50/60Hz and easily capturable). Unfortunately, I had come to the impression that it was either not possible to achieve with current technology, or that anyone with the technology to do simply hadn't.
Today however, I just happened to come across that exact thing in this slow mo guys video. They've always got some of the best slow motion cameras around, and they even said that this was the highest framerate they've ever recorded at (an incredible 146,727 fps). I know they're a bit of a normie channel, but I think this video is genuinely fantastic, they even go into comparing LED-backlight LCDs and OLED LCDs with a macro lens, which is another thing I've wanted to see. As a display autist, this video was a deeply cathartic and liberating experience, and made me think that maybe things are going to turn out okay.

So, I was driving on a 60 road today and I was getting a little pissed off because the person in front was driving at a steady 50. We came off the 50 road onto a 30 and I was a little bit irritated because I was expecting them to cruise along at about 25 the whole way.
NOPE, they drove down the 30 road still at 50, they didn't even change their speed. Strange driver.

Spent most of today and yesterday off the computer, yesterday me and my mum spent all day clearing out one section of my room, and now the floor behind my rack is the clearest it's been in about 12 years. Today I restrung my guitar (because while clearing my room I found some unopened strings I got for my birthday about 9 years ago), then received a delivery of hundreds of electronic components for my 808 clone project, so I sorted through and organised them a bit. Still haven't got the PCB though, nor a couple of other bits I need, so I can't start it yet unfortunately. Need to get a hold of some wire in various colours as well for the header cables, I've currently only got red.
Off to bed now though, goodnight lads.

It starts off with two men blindfolded, the title claims that it is a police officer and his son but many other sources claim that it is a cartel member and his son, regardless it is a man and his son.
Shortly after, their blindfolds are removed and the older man is bludgeoned several times with a large piece of wood before being quickly decapitated with a small blade.
After this, two men hold his son down and start cutting away at his chest until his rib-cage and entrails are visible and begin pulling organs out of his body until he dies.
Yeah…

Most people are rational and goodhearted, and they know a man like that has no business in the highest office. Then watch as they slam the door in your face.

Sounds like a blatant cross between Central Line's "Walking Into Sunshine" and B. B. & Q. Band's "On The Beat", both of which were very popular in clubs internationally during the early 80s. Always makes me laugh when the Japanese make their own versions of western songs, a couple of years after the originals came out. We did the same in the 50s and 60s to Rock & Roll and Soul, so it's only fair I guess.

Not him, but it was massively overrated in my eyes, I really didn't see what everyone else apparently saw in it. I didn't think it was shit, but I didn't think it was great either. I had the PS3 version though, which ran at a sub-720p resolution, was almost always 15-20 fps, and had the graphics settings turned lower than the 360 version in general, making the whole thing feel sluggish and look subpar. Can't say I remember a single thing about the story or the characters, so I clearly didn't think much of that aspect.
All in all, I'd give it a solid 6.5/10, with an additional "if it had a PC version I'd give it an extra point or two" award.

I used to think it was good until I played it all the way through recently. The gameplay is boring and the missions are repetitive. GTA is vastly better in every way, including 4. The Undead Nightmare expansion is even worse than the main game. Nier Automata had a barren open world too but at least it was fun. I couldn't respect anyone who thinks RDR is a well designed game. I bet you think Fallout 3 is better than New Vegas too.

I used to be when I was about 17 but not at all now.
I remember when I joined some /v/ guild on a private server and we were just about to raid, we were trying to decide on a loot system. I suggested the Suicide Kings loot system because it was literally perfect for our guild since nobody trusted anyone to be a loot council and nobody else was prepared to do DKP.
So we had about 5 people trying to coin different loot systems and obviously I was the one going for Suicide Kings (which was literally perfect). The GM invited everyone to a big vent chat and we all had to give a short speech on why our chosen system was best, when it was finally my time to talk I literally couldn't get the words out apart from a few trembling autistic sentences.
Because of this we had to use loot council, FUCKING LOOT COUNCIL. Obviously it didn't work out, the guild was mostly a bunch of close "friends" with a load of people recently invited for the purpose of raiding, it would never work out. It's crazy to think that people wanted it and obviously we had to go through with this guildbreaking loot system just because I was a little faggot bitch who couldn't talk.
Seriously, fuck loot council. I'd actually rather have standard rolling than loot council.

Seriously, Suicide Kings is fucking PERFECT for small guilds that don't take things too seriously. Loot Council only ever works when people take the game so seriously that it's basically their life. The main reasoning behind using this was other loot systems take "too long", fucking bullshit.
It ended up taking twice as long because people had 15 minute arguments after ever boss fight because someone didn't get the loot that they wanted.
I'm still bitter about this 6 years later.

Finished a little LED dice circuit kit that my dad got me for christmas a couple of years ago (pic is off internet, but it's the same one), thought it'd make good practise for when I start my drum machine. I royally fucked up one of the LEDs, but it seems to still function without it, and I'm really just impressed that it works at all. It was actually quite easy all in all, I think me using based leaded solder made a massive difference compared to my piss poor previous attempts with the lead-free shite.

I did it a couple of times in 2016 to try and overcome social anxiety. Started off not being able to open my mouth, but after a few months I could get a few words out if I was one on one. I couldn't talk at all if there was more than one person around, and I haven't done it at all since then.

Went to start putting the board together after spending the day reshuffling my room for it, and immediately found that my iron's tip is apparently too thick for the very thin through-hole pads on the board (at least I think that's the problem, it wouldn't solder properly and I think it's because it's not getting a proper connection to both the pad and the lead). So I've had to put it aside once again, and reluctantly order myself a 10 piece set of various sized tips for tomorrow. Pain in the absolute arse.

I'm off to bed. My new soldering iron tips arrived this morning, but unfortunately they didn't make a difference, the solder still won't flow properly onto the joints. My next course of action is going to be scrubbing the entire board with some 99.9% isopropyl alcohol (I already did somewhat before I started, but maybe not enough), and I've ordered myself one of those flux pen things which should make the solder flow more easily (there's flux inside the solder so it's not normally needed unless you're doing surface-mount stuff, but I've seen a lot of professionals recommend it anyway so fuck it). So the project is on hold yet again, I'm getting uncomfortably over the budget I initially set out for myself, and I've got ANOTHER FUCKING DELIVERY to wait for. Just end it all.

Building myself a Yocto 2, a clone of the Roland TR-808 drum machine that contains 1:1 identical analogue circuitry to the sound generators of the original hardware (sequencer is very different though, more like a TR-909, also it has MIDI and an additional Boss PC-2 voice). You have to buy the PCB and solder all the components yourself, and buy an optional case from a third party if you want it to actually look like a finished product, but it's still a hell of a lot cheaper and more reliable than buying a real 808 (which is £3000 - £3500 these days, VS about £650 for all the Yocto parts).
I've always wanted to get into DIY electronics, especially for audio stuff, but I never came across anything I thought was worth doing. I saw this a couple of weeks ago and I was taken aback by how authentic it sounded, and it seemed like a good challenge for myself.

What's she going to do if you don't? My mum often hints at the idea, but I just have to sternly tell her that it's not happening right now, and she'll drop it for another couple of months. It helps if she feels sympathetic and partly responsible for your situation, and currently considers you to be a valuable member of the household even without a job (I give my mum a portion of my autismbux as rent, I often do chores when she's at work, I fix everything in the house and help with anything technical, and I prevent her from making retarded impulsive decisions).
Things would be different if I had a dominant father figure around the house who had a sense of pride and didn't let things get this bad in the first place, but as is usual for lads like us, I don't. I just have my mum's useless low IQ betabux "boyfriend" that she mostly holds disdain for, but keeps around for the money, and my real dad (who got kicked out of here 19 years ago) that I only see once a month or so.

I posted about it before, but generally metal strings are for electric and steel string acoustic guitars, while nylon strings are for classical guitars. If you put nylon strings on an electric, you won't get any sound because they're not magnetic (and they probably wouldn't fit into the nut anyway). If you use metal strings on a classical guitar, it will be irreparably damaged, if not completely broken in half, due to them having no truss rod in the neck to support the stronger tension. Metal strings sound bright and twangy, and are like razors to the fingers if you haven't yet built up calluses, while nylon strings sound soft and mellow, and don't hurt the fingers at all (although your wrist might ache more because classical necks are wider).

When most normies hit their teenage years and start socialising outside of school, getting on buses, walking around town together, going to parties, drinking/smoking, having romantic/sexual experiences, learning to drive, getting their first jobs, etc., I chose instead to stay at home on the computer and make music / fiddle around with audio stuff every day until I went to bed, and every weekend I would go to my dad's house 35 miles away and do the same thing. I know more about this stuff than I do anything else because I pretty much sacrificed my child-to-adult transition period for it.

In terms of building it, at least 6 hours, though probably less than 10. a lot of that was spent faffing about and trying to get the solder to work though. In terms of just researching and planning the project, countless hours, it's been the number one life-encompassing focus of mine for about 3 weeks. It's not really a chore though, it's something I want to build, and it's all in sections so it's not particularly overwhelming. I've seen many people say it took them about a month to complete, and a few saying it took them 2 weeks, so I'm shooting for 1 - 2 months of working on it a couple of hours a day (I've always been a slow and steady worker). Gonna try and treat it a bit like a real job, getting up early, having scheduled breaks, etc.
Speaking of which, I better be off to bed, goodnight guys.

I don't know anything about Portugal or China's drug policies, nor do I give a shit, and I'm not the lad who wants you executed. My understanding of the Portuguese system is that they've decriminalised drug use and treat them as victims and seek to rehabilitate them rather than punish them, I don't really know any more in depth than that. I haven't heard much about how successful it's actually been, now as the opposite of this we have what Duterte has been doing in the Philippines which seems to be working, and has a proven track record when he did the same in Davidao city when he was mayor. Now I'm not actually arguing that we form death squads to violently purge drug users and dealers, it's just an example of when people actually enforce a zero tolerance policy it can work. I think most people think that the attempts to control drugs in this country have been fairly strict when really they've been pretty limp wristed and pathetic. Possession of the three legal classes of drugs will get you 7 years plus a fine for class A drugs, 5 years plus a fine for class B drugs and 2 years plus a fine for class C drugs. Meanwhile supply of class A will get you life in prison and a fine and supply of class B and C will get you 14 years prison and a fine. Clearly this is not sufficient deterrent because it hasn't been working, and if my local area is anything to go by the police don't even bother enforcing the law when it comes to weed (which is a class B drug). I'm not saying what I propose is the only way to deal with the drug issue we have and I think we can all agree the current system really does fuck all to help the problem, if the Portuguese system actually works and is cost effective (meaning rehabilitated people have a low rate of relapse) then I might be in favour of that for some people who have used less damaging drugs.

I think the way Portugal treats it's drug addicts is probably the right way to go about things. Most of these people are addicted too drugs because they didn't have a good support network in place, not because they thought heroin would be fun to try out just for shit and giggles. You say Duterte has a policy that works, his policy involves the murder of thousands of people with innocent people getting caught up in the crossfire. How in any way is that working?
I also disagree that most people think that drug policy is too strict, people in this country especially the over 40's hate drugs and think there a menace too society. the only thing I do agree with is this current drug policy is a pile of shit and needs to be changed. The fact you think that killing and mass incarceration or anything even stricter that the system we have now would be a positive step boggles the mind. As hard as you try you can not control everybody, so why not just legalize, illimante illegal trade that way, then be there to help the people that fall through the cracks and pretty much get them to pay for it themselves?

The idea behind laws is not just police / authority enforcement but also an aspect of moral reinforcement. It has generally been seen as morally wrong to break the law. And yes while today morals aren't exactly strong and neither is respect for the law, that is still the standard that should be aimed for. Why does it boggle the mind that I want people who push at worst very damaging substances and at best disruptive to healthy society killed? they are actively damaging my country and it's people and as far as I am concerned that deserves a hanging as much as committing murder or treason does.

The last thing I pre-ordered was Dark Souls 3, I very rarely do it. I don't really know why people hate Denuvo so much, given they're buying the games off Steam or another DRM platform anyway.

It's not just because it's DRM, it's because it sabotages the performance of the game by maxing out your CPU the entire time the game is running, it monitors what you and your system are doing without telling you, it gives you a limited number of activations, and it constantly phones home to third parties the entire time (and it may or may not give you a couple of days to play the game offline before you need to "re-activate"). Not to mention, there's no guarantee that the game will be "unlocked" once the activation servers go offline, which has happened to a couple of games already. Steam at the very least has the decency to not majorly fuck over your system's performance, let's you install non-Denuvo games on as many systems as you want, and lets you play non-Denuvo games offline without an arbitrary time limit.
The best way of course is to just not use Steam if possible, and for Steam-only games either pirate them, use cracked executables, or just tell the dev to go fuck themselves and play something else.

Eating more can help, your body only keeps warm when you have enough energy to spare, and it prioritises your major organs first, so if your hands and feet feel unnaturally cold for the environment you're in, that could be why. Moving around will help too.

Does it have a macro recording feature? If not, could be a number of things, a dodgy switch, crap firmware/driver, bad USB port, some sort of IRQ conflict, etc.

Exactly what is the issue with my post lads? I see no issue with promoting a bit of healthy lad banter and stories in the thread? Or are we all serious now?
