Just got my first council tax bill for £1123.03. Do you think I'll get any deductions or in-work/housing benefits as a young lad working 40 hours a week and renting a flat?

You are precisely the type of person that won't get any benefits or assistance

This is where you're going wrong. You've got to be NEET and/or physically/mentally disabled to get the best bennies, young working lads like yourself aren't getting shit unless you have a partner and kid(s) that you can't afford to support.

I think the singer has somewhat of an artificial sounding voice, and her pronunciation grates on me a bit (although if she's japanese, I've definitely heard a lot worse). Regarding the music itself, it's a pretty good cover, better sounding and more soulful than the original actually, which is rare, and I do love a good flute solo.
If you could combine Patti Austin's vocal from the original, with the instrumental of the weeb version, I think you'd end up with a version that's better than both.

What is it that makes Japanese backing tracks sound so unique? They've just got something to them that I really like but I couldnt point to what it is. I get the same when I listen to "City Pop"

They've had a different set of musical trends to UK and US over several decades, things caught on over there that didn't over here, and vice versa. There are numerous motifs, chord progressions, production techniques, etc. that went out of fashion over here, but never went away over there. Elements from jazz, 50s - 60s pop/ballads, latin american music (bossa nova in particular), disco music, and of course, cheesy european dance music from the 90s; they've continued to recycle and reinvent these sounds, while most of the english-speaking music world actively avoids them for fear of being out-of-date or uncool. Also the japanese abuse arpeggios to fuck, if you're listening to japanese music, there's a 90% chance of the track being drenched in synth arpeggios.
I don't think there's anything inherently japanese about this track or the boogie/post-disco "City Pop" stuff though, that's straight up african american soul and funk music, with latin american influences here and there.

YouTube also said that it had begun working with 15 more NGOs and institutions, including the Anti-Defamation League, the No Hate Speech Movement, and the Institute for Strategic Dialogue in an effort to improve the system’s understanding of issues around hate speech, radicalisation and terrorism to better deal with objectionable content.
Google will begin enforcing tougher standards on videos that could be deemed objectionable, but are not illegal, in the coming weeks. The company said that YouTube videos flagged as inappropriate that contain “controversial religious or supremacist content”, but that do not breach the company’s policies on hate speech or violent extremism will be placed in a “limited state”.
A YouTube spokesperson said: “The videos will remain on YouTube behind an interstitial, won’t be recommended, won’t be monetised, and won’t have key features including comments, suggested videos, and likes.”
YouTube has also begun redirecting searches with certain keywords to playlists of curated videos that confront and debunk violent extremist messages, as parts of its effort to help prevent radicalisation.

Thanks for the kind words lad, but I do want to stress that this knowledge has come at a great cost. When I love something in music, I really feel overwhelmed with positive emotions by it, but the same goes for when I hate something in it too, so it's very much a love/hate relationship.
I also had to sacriface a lot to amass what knowledge I do have on music creation and audio engineering. I chose music over friendships, over social skills, over relationships, over education, over career planning, over money, over family interaction, over my personal development, over physical and mental health, over everything really. And this was mainly between the ages of 13 and 19, when you're supposed to be taking in the world around you to transition from care-free child, to independent young adult.
So while it's neat to have something to say on the way any bit of music sounds and the ingredients used to make it, I basically gambled my life away for what is, at this point, nothing more than a party trick. I really believed I could be a successful DJ/Producer if I just focused all my time on learning, developing, and honing my skills, but I realised too late that success in music comes from networking and confidence around people, not being a silent-but-skilled autist recluse.

It's strange how money works. I was all worried about how much I've splurged on upgrading my PC setup this year, but after making a spreadsheet and working it all out, it's really not as bad as I'd thought. It's brought me down by 13.96% of my original balance. For comparison, when I originally built this PC in 2013, it cost me 88.79% of my original balance, although it didn't hit me quite that hard because immediately afterwards I got ahold of my childhood savings account money from my grandparents. The strange part is that I actually spent more money this time around (about £1.3K) than I did back then (about £1K).

Called in sick to work today as I really was not I. The mood for it, and I slept a little late so would have been 15 minutes late anyway.
Needed to get out of the house though, my father is home before I am so I can have him seeing I'm here when he gets home.
So I took a drive into the city and I'm sitting in a comfy little "tea house"

Not really no, it sounds pretentious. I've also always hated music that has all those IDM-tier clicks and fx over everything like you've got insects running around inside your ear canals. It's not musical or pleasant to listen to, it's just annoying.
