I was reading "Mere Christianity" by C.S Lewis today. I'm only a few chapters in but he's making the case for natural law or a moral law that makes civilization possible. He believes that most people have this inkling, this voice in them that tells them they should be acting a certain way , i.e fair play cooperation etc. Of course not everybody listens to this voice all the time but it's present in most people.

He posits that though there are differences in morality between one people and another, one time and another etc the differences aren't really that great. One people might believe in having 4 wives other just 1 but everyone believes you can't just have whatever woman you want whenever you want.

I only started posting again the other day after about a 3 week absence but I agree, I think we have one or two new posters.

Just had my third driving lesson, went pretty well, the instructor said I did much better today. Went left, straight over, and turned right at roundabouts, and also stopped at some traffic lights, without too much trouble. Got the hang of changing gears while moving without him needing to tell me when to change, and the routine for approaching roundabouts is a lot more solidified in my head.

Weakest areas at the moment are lane positioning on roundabouts, and moving after slowing down / coming to a halt at roundabouts. Fucked the latter up pretty much every time I had to do it, think I got better towards the end though. Also have a habit of either going way too fast or way too slow when I need to start moving again, don't really know what I'm doing in that area.

I don't know if that is the case or not, that's pure speculation on my part. But the law isn't based on just whether or not they have gone through puberty, it's also about emotional maturity. Yeah, you can't just take all your holidays at the start of the year and then quit unless you work the entire year because you're not entitled to them yet.

If you quit mid-year your holiday will be calculated pro-rata based on the amount of the year worked.

Though coincidently, I recently left my job and my last paycheck included a huge amount of "holiday pay". so I think they paid me for my entire years allowance by mistake.
