As much as I hate to say this, you might have to just lower your standards for what makes a friend a friend.

this is a hilariously bad idea, I'm sorry but no. Unless your standards are RIDICULOUSLY high, lowering standards for friends will lead you down all sorts of dark corridors. And personally, I don't think the OP's issue is that his standards are ridiculously high.

Wow, I sure do wonder why you feel this way about real life friends

>go to a meetup where people play a game that you like

>make friends there

>common interest

Though to be fair they're probably going to be faggots anyway.

It could work out, but it depends on the nature of the meetup.

This is why I never count e-frens as real friends; what they're like through a computer and what they're like in person can be too different.

That's what I'm thinking too. In 2018, everyone is so over connected with social media that everyone else has become anti-social. You ever try having a face to face conversation with someone? If they're under 35, it's brutal as fuck.

I regret to inform you that it doesn't get much better if they're over 35.

Literally everyone at my work is staring at their phone during break time. I just sit there staring at a wall because I don't even bring my phone with me and nobody there is willing to talk in favor of fucking around with their phones. Yet I'm the one called antisocial.

Don't you just love it? 15 years ago in highschool, if you didn't talk face to face you were anti-social. Now, if you don't spend all your time looking at a handheld computer, you're antisocial.

I was honestly hoping once I got out of school and got to the real world that I'd be able to talk to people face to face. Real people that is, and not the simple minded retards at school who only ever talked about drugs, and how drunk they got over the weekend. Now, can't even have real conversations because everything has gotta be through fucking phones.

I don't mind at all honestly. I can play my handheld wherever I want now, and nobody can complain because they're doing essentially the same shit.
