The Bloop is actually Jormungandr, the serpent of Midgard, sleeping on the ocean bed, wrapped around Earth(Midgard) waiting to awaken on the days of Ragnarok.
Prove me wrong. Protip: You can't.

I mean I crack jokes about this all the time, but I don't think any of us actually believe that

I mean what the fuck would a giant serpent eat at the bottom of the ocean to be so big?
Most colossal animals existed when earth was abundant and this age has everything much smaller. Although whales are massive and live off tiny things. I don't think its possible that these things have managed to exist without us finding out about them while also being so big and there would be a few of them unless they live as long as LOTR elves.
