New season has just been confirmed to air later this year globally on Netflix. Get hype!
>The story takes place during the Danish invasions of Britain, when all but one of the English kingdoms are conquered. The protagonist of the series is Uhtred of Bebbanburg, born to a Saxon lord in Northumbria, but captured and adopted by the Danes. The name of the protagonist comes from the historical Uhtred the Bold

The Last Kingdom Season 3 delay is solely due to Netflix wanting to give it an exclusive air date, i.e., Winter Season, after the Summers done with movie/ big TV show premieres. The show will be given an exclusive Netflix premiere and will no longer air on BBC2 like it used to before. BBC2 for its part ended up discarding the show, so the sole responsibility fell to Netflix. Netflix decided of not canceling the Series but owning it and trying to better it, given the latest developments in Season 3. Alexander Dreymon who plays Uhtred of Bebbanburg on the show was seen on Season 3 of The Last Kingdom recently. He spotted a new look. He appears in a new avatar, with his hair visibly shorter than before.
Now for Season 3, Ragnar who is Uhtred’s brother and friend in the show will be given a bigger screen space. Ragnar is portrayed by Tobias Santelmann. Readers should know that Season 3 of The Last Kingdom is based on The Burning Land, which is the book 5. This book traces the union of Alexander and Tobias. And if you consider how The Burning Land shapes, Ragnar’s role is bigger than what we saw in the previous two Seasons. Now in Season 1 and 2, we only saw a bit of Ragnar the young here and there.

There's really no reason to be pessimistic about this series' future or the direction they're taking it in

I'm only three episodes in, but i'll confirm its uncucked so far.
Maybe the only issue I have is that the make certain people seem incompetent or dumb in order to make others seem more competant, but I guess that's just Netflix.

'Last Kingdom' author makes cameo in Netflix adaptation
>.thebookseller.com/news/cornwell-makes-cameo-last-kingdom-season-three-871776
Historical novelist Bernard Cornwell will make a cameo appearance in the Netflix broadcast of "The Last Kingdom Season Three" later this year (pictured in character).
The 10-part third season is adapted by writer Stephen Butchard from Cornwell’s best-selling series of novels of the same name, set in ninth century England. Alexander Dreymon will reprise his role as the warrior Uhtred, continuing his quest to recapture his ancestral lands of Bebbanburg. The new season will also see the return of David Dawson as Alfred, Ian Hart as Father Beocca, and Emily Cox (Homeland) as Brida.
Cornwell, who released his latest book in the Last Kingdom series, War of the Wolf (HarperCollins), this week, will be discussing Uhtred’s latest adventure at the BBC History Magazine festival in Winchester this weekend and next week in Newcastle, Guildford and Cheltenham.

I watched more, and the plot seems to be that the bad guys in the show are muh evil Danes, but the main character was raised by Danes so he gets to be cool and edgy.
Not really worth watching

/asatru/ should have their first duel to settle score. Who's first blood spilled decides who the schizo is?
The duel is such an important rite of our people. Almost always never to the death but if so than that is fate. Justice and honor must be preserved. Also no having a "champion" fight for you, like the dumb Christians invented, your qualms can only be satiated by your own prowess.
