Castlevania has a number of references to Tolkien. I'm not sure if the Japanese developers had intended this or whether it was the English localization team that did made them.

"Ramble On" for instance talks about Frodo's journey from Rivendell to Mordor and mentions both Gollum and Mordor explicitly, "The Battle of Evermore" has lyrics that are based on events from ROTK and mentions Ringwraiths, that's the ones that I can think of at the moment.

The first Shadow of Mordor is wonderful. It's worth playing it for Celebrimbor's story and voice acting alone. Besides the great story it's a well made game. For example, the orcs remember encounters with you and taunt you if you fled, lost or are revived; the opposite is the case if you were successful and wound them.

>Shadow of Mordor
>Good
I'll admit celebrimbor was well voice acted and more interesting than every other character in the game, but that's just it. Every other character in the game sucks. Not to mention that the game takes a dumb on the lore
