The lack of shading, the attempt at trying to convey pretty colors through sheer shades of white with floral patterns and the like, the weird non-conform panel-sizes and their oft ambiguous order, the lack of artistic talent in basic human-anatomy.

Why can't shoujo manga also look good? It doesn't need to be realistic or arousing but it's so far from looking appealing I wonder why they even bothered. Anyone get me? I also hardly ever find one that's interestingly drawn, like it's all just an afterthought to push out the most generic story about generic girl X falling in love with generic guy Y.

Low standards and laziness.

Lazy as well as low quality checking.

Again, same thing, low quality in general

and low standards for quality check ups.

Same thing again, low competition, low quality check. However this is case with most of shoujo i have read, i can't say it might be case for every shoujo out there, some may be genuinely good and have its own unique art style, i think its just because any fan fictioner run of the mil person who did not invest enough time in artist skilled, tries to make shoujo, and we get huge hands stupid body proportions which is not bad, but just uncanny in nature.

I think op was making point, since Reborn is drawn by a woman if my memory is rught and the art is very ...juicy, unlike shoujo crap i am used to.
