The year is coming to an end which would normally mean that it would be time to discuss anime of the year but this year we're instead going to look back a t the whole decade. What was your highlight of the decade? Your favorite, least favorite, lewdest, most wholesome anime of this decade?
Recency bias is of course gonna play a big role in deciding AOTD since it's a span of ten years. After looking through the archives the only anime shows that stand out in my mind are all SoL shows (which only shows how comfy this decade has been compared to the previous one). I've also come to realize that the winter 2018 season might've been the best season of the decade. But without giving it too much thought my AOTD is either Saiki or inchling's life. What about (you)?

I would put Madoka and Monogatari on the list. But Nichijou was very influential. I know Jojo fags would love to put this in the top 10 and although i would agree the problem is due to how unbearable and normalfag the fandom is much like how Fate has become i can not really like the anime as much as i use to.
>>114278
Its just edgy fags wanting desperately to be contrarian and act like their opinions matter when overall it changes nothing in the grand scope of things.

>Beastars
>One Punch Man
Why do you consider those your top favorites One Punch Man was the most boring anime i ever watched and unironically Mob Psycho was much better than it due to how there is an actual plot and things going on to advance it than monster of the week. Also beastars is for gay furfags.
Let me put my own and feel free to tell me my opinions are absolute shit i do not mind having a debate and speaking freely on it.
>Kill La Kill
>Psychopass S1 and the movie
>Fate/Zero
>Mob Psycho 100
>Bakuman series(highly underatted and i feel sad nobody has watched it)
>Panty And Stocking
>Monogatari
>Nichijou
>New Game
>Shield Hero
>Kiseijuu: Sei no Kakuritsu(underrated despite it being based off a manga from the mid 90's)
Honorable Mention
>Another
>Tasogare Otome X Amnesia
>No Game No Life(again nobody mentions this anime)
>Monster Musume
>Blend S
>Kobayashi Maid Dragon
>Helpful Fox Senko-San
>Dr.Stone
>Promare
>Pop Team Epic
>Jojo series

"Magical girls can't be 'serious'"
I'm putting "serious" under quotation marks on purpose, it's not like magical girl shows couldn't have serious themes before, but they simply didn't cross this invisible line into other genres.
Madoka has it's merits, even if it's cool to hate it now. Just like any other milestone of any genre in any entertainment media, it's takes as the "new standar" because it's "what the kids like", and driven to the ground with ripoffs. Nowadays everything is "magical girls with a 'serious' spin".

Did not Sailor Moon put tragedy, death and seriousness in the genre like three decades before Madoka? Why do we now pretend that Madoka "ruined" magical girls?

When I said
>it's not like magical girl shows couldn't have serious themes before
I specifically had SM in mind. What I meant was that SM never looked like anything other than a magical girl anime, while Madoka ventured into stranger territory. Don't get me wrong, I'm not dissing Sailor Moon nor elevating madoka over it, just pointing out what was different between them. I still prefer SM, even if for the untimely fact that compared to today's magical girls, it actually looks fresh.

I agree that Madoka was a bit weirder, simply by virtue of being a Shaft show, but there are better Shaft shows so I don't really see why Madoka is put on a pedestal. Especially since the movie was the most aesthetically interesting part of Madoka and many Madokafags seem to dislike it.

It was a very dark decade for anime with the genre on the brink of death, I'm assured the end will come in the 2020s now.
But there was some worthwhile anime.
10 I rate well in alphabetic order:
>Gabriel DropOut
>Girls' Last Tour
>Girls Und Panzer
>Hitsugi no Chaika
>KonoSuba
>Mahou Tsukai no Yome
>Maria Holic (Season 2)
>Mirai Nikki
>Nichijou
>Prison School
I'm sure there's more than 10, probably no more than 20. I'm limiting the list at 10 because I already struggled to find a 9th. Those are the ones that first came to mind while thinking for a few minutes. I'm counting some that started in the 2000s but had new releases in the 2010s as part of the list.

It's pretty much unanimously agreed that anime as a genre is completely dead to us at this point. Normalfags and SJWeebs now have full control over the genre and now it's guaranteed we will never see another good anime ever again. The Tokyo 2020 Olympics will be the herald for the end of Japan.

Indeed. The SJWeebs that we have been working so hard to fight against finally won and now they have Japan's full approval. They control anime now. There will never be a good anime ever again and everyone on this board knows it deep down.
