The real gacha in this game is the costumes, you can get pretty much everything else and be highly competitive without spending money. I spent $5/month for the gem card 4 times and I'm in a pretty good place and even had a few gems left over for some live2d costumes, even having joined the game more than 6 months late.

I can’t care less about the damn story. I only care about the girls. The writing can hover between ‘eh’ to ‘why should i care?’ tier. The way they conveyed it is also very poor (i.e they use the same stock firing sound for every time the scene calls for a fired shot) that it detracts the overall narration. The gameplay can be pretty fun if it weren’t so grindy though. I’m looking forward to it though, the future content will add Heavy Weapon teams, branching storylines and MODs.
Also i don’t whale on gachashit, i’m not that pathetic.

Is anyone? They have ridiculous data requirements, as you said, but ridiculous battery requirements as well - more than you can even store just to get their facilities level nevermind their exclusive combat reports. Not to mention and you absolutely have to if you want a chance in future content since they're the only way to deal with shielded enemies. This turns them into less of an "Oh cool, a neat new thing I can use to fight more effectively" like mods are and into "Ah fuck, a new time and resource sink I have to get over with so I can kill the new enemies". Then there's the insane resource cost for actually using them, meaning you won't unless you absolutely have to.
The only reason they exist is because enemies have to get harder and because the enemies have gotten harder we need to get stronger but you can't just add more powerful dolls and MODs or you'll get powercreep and everything that came before will be useless or even more useless than it already is (80% of MGs). At least fairies were interesting and could change things up (airstrike letting RFs deal with dinergate swarms, construction letting you use the map differently, paradrop and all the bullshit it lets you get up to). Just "press this button so that you can kill this enemy without taking extreme losses". They aren't even voiced, either.
AGS is super cute, at least.

I'm only concerned about data. The battery cost might be high but you get so many from having 10 dorms with decent comfort as well as expeditions that this won't be an issue by the time CT comes out.
The other stuff is true but at least there are only a few HOCs. People have been rolling for fairies 8x a day or more since their release and still only have 1-2 five stars. Even then, serious players dupe them. If I level a HOC skill, it might be 1/30 levels for 1/8 HOCs but at least I didn't have to roll in a gacha for the chance.

Yeah you're right in the the HOC is a time sink for top-tier players to waste even more time in the game. I think the game is going to experience a whole new Power Creep to be honest. Power Creep is something that's unavoidable in F2P gacha games, but atleast the devs of this game gave a slight piece of fuck about it, evident by the recent big changes to the game (e.g Less grinding required now, Powerful Dolls being given out from the get-go, and The 'Bamboo' Re-work to make them not not as useless).
Still, there's so much things that they could probably do to make other dolls more viable or fill a certain niche. Take for example, armour buff tiles are limited by MGs only. MGs and SGs are already resource sinks, but maybe add a HG if you're lacking in MG buffers. They can also buff certain skills so that 80% of the dolls are not useless maybe. The Lock-n-Load MGs probably hit hard by this since literally every single MGs with others skills can outdamage them.
Make them into a new support niche (for example, making their skill also add more shells on the SG they're buffing as well) or anything really since there's already a good damage MG, and it dillutes the choice for MGs.
Who am i kidding, they're here to sell gacha-skins. They don't really care about balance.

Data is the constant bottleneck though, I have spend all of this and last month as well as a few months ago buying the 128gem data pack and have constantly been buying extra data for almost a year and still don't have every doll/fairy at SK7 with my favourites/MVPs at 10. Some really good shit. New event called Polarized Light coming with two new DEFY members and what will probably be rescue dolls. Having wanted a Webley for quite a while I'm pretty stoked.
As well, two new collabs. A fucking Gunslinger Girl collab and one where chinks and gooks need to buy KFC to get a costume, EN and JP Don't have 1895CB yet, so no need to worry about that. GSG seems like a good fit for the game since both have girls, guns and suffering.
Finally, SF Capture confirmed. We'll finally be able to give Destroyer all the headpats she deserves!

From what I've been able to gather, SF has suffered setbacks and now the ringleaders have scattered. With the help of a new company, whose name I've forgotten, you can capture the ringleaders and SF units. Actually getting them is chance based, of course, but apparently failing to capture them increases your chances the next time. To do this you use a new(?) type of energy that replenishes over time, like fairy commands I guess. Then your dolls and HOCs go in, destroy the fodder, stun the unit and cover them in jizz. There's also a special kind of energy you can use that either increases your chances or just succeeds outright.
Once you've got a ringleader and some SF units you build them into echelons just like normal dolls. They can't be in the same echelons as T-dolls, though, and they take up one of your normal 10 echelon slots. Then you send them into battle. Mostly like normal except melee units have special commands and ringleaders have anime cutscenes on their special attacks.

The anime is comedic chibi shorts and most of it is currently in chink. Healing chapter season 1 has a nip dub as well as two or three eps of Madness chapter. I'd say it's better but I have nothing to back that up except my feelings.

To anyone of you playing this (or want to try this), try to not ever spend a dime on this game. Most of the shit you see is grindable and you'll get there, sooner or later. The things that are pay-walled are the extra slots (only one or two of which matters), costume gachashit, and the marrying system. But you can get the extra slots by getting free gems from finishing quests, leaving the costume gachashit and jaypeg marriage as the wallet digger of this game.
Or just not play it entirely, it's a waste of time like all gachashit phone games. Just enjoy the lewd art and gun gals.

People are free to find their own enjoyment in this game and I like spending 20 gems a day out of my 30 gem a day pack that costs $5/month to ensure that I have some extra data to throw around.
Also the costume gacha is not paywalled, you get a bunch of free tokens a day just from dailies not to mention that they are also available from events and logistics. Only extra repair/production/research/etc slots (none of which you need) are paywalled.
