I actually took a little peek at the light novel to see how far along the manga was, relative to the light novel. The manga is currently at around chapter 33 in the light novel series. Out of a total of 96 light novel chapters. So I guess anything could happen regarding their relationship. I'm not going to bother reading the light novel to find out. I can wait for it to be made into the manga. But I'm assuming that's where this Usagi Drop ending foretelling is coming from. But even the light novel is still ongoing.
