Fair enough but I believe Evangelion is an exception to this. I actually put off watching it myself for a long time because people were constantly talking shit about it online so I believed it was a genuinely bad show. When I finally got around watching it, I regarded it as one of the best anime I had ever seen and I still do. I recently rewatched it and watched certain episodes during my rewatch serveral times which is something I never do with other shows, I believe it's that good.
The last two episodes are infamous for consisting mostly of re-used footage and not really ending the story properly due to budget constraints but the End of Evangelion film makes up for that completely. Anyway, I highly recommend you watch it as soon as possible. It's one of a kind. Besides, I don't think something like Death Note is talked as much about as Eva.

Kuroneko is cute, but are you forgetting her diary. She wanted to break up with MC. On the other hand Kirino wants absolutely the best for the MC. She starts off tsundere but if you scratch the surface you will find the most loving girl in anime history. No one can care for her brother more than Kirino does.
