Nine Chinese Financial Institutions With Over 1 Trillion Yuan In Assets Are Nationalized On The Same Day
Perhaps it's a coincidence that just two days after we reported that China has been rocked by an "unprecedented" surge in bank runs which forced local regulators to "publicly vouch for the soundness of its lenders as the police halted the run", on Friday Chinese financial regulators took over a record nine financial institutions which they said broke rules and added risk to a financial system facing increasing headwinds from the coronavirus pandemic. Or perhaps the two are in fact connected, and as faith in China's financial system sinks and more money is pulled out of the country's insolvent banks, more banks will be bailed out or nationalized.
Whatever the case, the takeovers of four insurers, two trust firms and three securities companies that managed a combined 1 trillion yuan ($143 billion) in assets represent Beijing’s first major regulatory move this year and follows the extensively documented bailouts of several regional lenders last year. Among the companies taken over the China's Banking and Insurance Regulatory Commission are Huaxia Life Insurance Co., Tianan Life Insurance Co., Tian An Property Insurance Co. and Yian Property Insurance Co, the regulator said on its website.

>Human rights groups and western Governments have catalogued systematic attacks on the Muslim Uighur minority in China’s western region, including mass forced sterilisation and detainment in “re-education” camps.
>The Chinese government has previously defending the Uighur internment camps as a “necessary measure against terrorism,” saying that they offer “voluntary education and training,” though leaked documents have revealed them to be more akin to massive prisons.

Censorship in China
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Censorship_in_China
>The government maintains censorship over all media capable of reaching a wide audience. This includes television, print media, radio, film, theater, text messaging, instant messaging, video games, literature, and the Internet. Chinese officials have access to uncensored information via an internal document system.
Internet censorship in China
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Internet_censorship_in_China
>According to CNN, China's Internet censorship is more extensive and advanced than that in any other country in the world. The Chinese government blocks website content and monitors individuals' Internet access.[4] As required by the Chinese government, major internet platforms and messaging services in China established elaborate self-censorship mechanisms. Some have hired teams of thousands to police content and invested in powerful AI algorithms.

Bill Gates’s Nuclear Firm Collaborated With Chinese Military Proxy
Microsoft billionaire Bill Gates, who notoriously praised the Chinese government’s handling of coronavirus, has collaborated with a Chinese Communist Party-linked nuclear firm tied to the nation’s military, The National Pulse can reveal.
The Microsoft billionaire chairs a nuclear power initiative working alongside a Chinese energy company deemed a military asset by the U.S. government. Gates has also extolled China’s economic exploitation of Africa as “valuable” and “beneficial.” The tech-entrepreneur “philanthropist” came under fire for insisting the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) “did a lot of things right” with its coronavirus response, but the undeserved and factually inaccurate praise was just the tip of the iceberg concerning Gate’s consorting with China. As the Chinese Embassy to the U.S. revealingly phrased it back in 2010: “Bill Gates bats for China.”
CHINA NATIONAL NUCLEAR CORPORATION. But Gates’s ties to the CCP are not limited to merely rhetoric: Terrapower, a nuclear energy research company founded and chaired by him works with China National Nuclear Corporation (CNNC), a wholly government-funded and administered company. What’s more, the state-owned enterprise is involved with “the development of China’s nuclear energy programs, both civilian and military.” The U.S. Department of Defense had quietly identified CNNC as a Chinese military collaborator since 1999, with the names only first being made public in June of this year. The State Department has also highlighted the risk of engaging with state-owned nuclear enterprises like CNNC which function “as a strategic tool with which to augment China’s “comprehensive national power” – both through development in the civilian sector and in support of a military buildup.” Amongst further explanation of why “it would be little short of madness for any potential foreign partner to engage uncritically with the Chinese nuclear industry,” Assistant Secretary of the Bureau of International Security and Nonproliferation Dr. Christopher Ashley Ford singled out CNNC four times.
CNNC “wants as much Western technology as quickly as they can, but they aren’t always willing to work with the actual developers and producers of such technology in the ways they should in order to ensure proper safety and quality control” and has used Western nuclear software to “support Beijing’s efforts of high-technology military modernization.” While the Terrapower collaboration with CNNC ended over a year into the project, it was not of their own accord. Trump administration policies appear to have ended the plan between Gates and the Chinese Communist Party-controlled firm. Gates himself attributed the cessation of the joint venture to “recent policy changes here in the U.S.,” suggesting he’d reinstate the project “if we get over these obstacles”: “TerraPower, the company I started 10 years ago, uses an approach called a traveling wave reactor that is safe, prevents proliferation, and produces very little waste. We had hoped to build a pilot project in China, but recent policy changes here in the U.S. have made that unlikely. We may be able to build it in the United States if the funding and regulatory changes that I mentioned earlier happen.” The Chinese State Council awarded Gates with one of the country’s highest accolades: lifetime membership in the country’s Academy of Engineering for his work on Terrapower. As the only non-academic foreigner hand-picked by the CCP for the award, Gates’s close ties to the Chinese government are evident by meeting with Chinese President Xi Jinping “on various occasions and discussed further nuclear energy cooperation with Premier Li Keqiang earlier this month.”
EXPLOITATION ENABLER. Gates has spoken highly of China’s economic exploitation of Africa by means of “debt-trap diplomacy”: a duplicitous process where the CCP strategically grants sizable loans to countries for infrastructure and transportation projects they know they wont’t be able to pay back. Once countries, chiefly in Africa, default, the CCP then requisitions the projects, often amassing additional political and economic power. The Kenyan government, for example, was forced to relinquish its Port of Mombasa to China as a result of unpaid debt. Left-wing media, think tanks, and even politicians including Hillary Clinton have compared the practice to “new colonialism,” boosting China’s economy and access to raw materials while Africans see little in return. Despite this deceit, Gates hailed the prospect as helping to “create a shared future in a fractured world” while speaking with state-run media outlet China Global Television Network (CGTN) at the 2018 Davos Summit.

Taiwan Denies Shooting Down Chinese Warplane
by Aishwarya Rakesh, September 4, 2020
The Taiwanese Ministry of Defense has denied shooting down a Chinese Su-35 jet today, after social media was abuzz with reports that suggested the same.
“The Air Force Command has refuted reports of shooting down Su-35. The information is false and completely untrue. The service strongly condemns this malicious act by deliberately creating and disseminating false information on the Internet in an attempt to confuse the audience,” the MoD said in a statement.
Earlier, multiple videos on twitter showed an aircraft engulfed in thick smoke in an unknown location. It was alleged that the warplane, operated by the Chinese People’s Liberation Army Air Force (PLAAF), had transgressed into Taiwan's Strait.
The Taiwanese defense ministry added: "The Air Force Command emphasized that in order to maintain airspace security, it will continue to closely monitor the conditions of the sea and airspace around the Taiwan Strait; and provide correct information in a timely manner to prevent the spread of fake and false news, and to avoid social unrest, and appeals to people to rest assured."
The statement from the Taiwanese National Ministry of Defence has been translated from Chinese using Google- Ed.
Chinese military experts have recently talked about crushing Taiwan. “A pair of (combat-capable) aircraft carriers can squeeze the island of Taiwan from different angles. Together with the DF-21D and DF-26 anti-ship ballistic missiles of the PLA Rocket Force, they can lock down the island and deny possible U.S. intervention,” Beijing-based naval expert Li Jie told Global Times on Tuesday, when China's new Shandong carrier was departing for its first combat drills.
Citing China Military Power Report 2020, Taipei Times reported on September 1 that Chinese PLA could successfully blockade the island nation but will not be able to wage an all-out war.

China Complains Trump's TikTok Ban Violates WTO Rules
A federal judge may have temporarily stopped the Trump Administration from unilaterally shutting down TikTok's business in the US, but the Trump Administration's battle with the company isn't over yet, though Bloomberg reported a few days ago that the TikTok issue will likely take a back seat until after Election Day, leaving the company free to operate as normal - at least for now.
But as Trump's trip to Walter Reed shakes up not just the campaign but the prospects for a stimulus deal and other items on the administration's agenda, Beijing is asserting that Trump's attempt to give China a taste of its own medicine - as some have described it - violates WTO rules.
Reuters reports that during a closed-door meeting at the WTO involving representatives from both China and the US, China's representative complained that Trump's heavy handed tactics violate WTO trade rules.
The fact that the White House hasn't produced any evidence that TikTok has transmitted private data on American users to Beijing - a claim that's central to the admin's argument for banning the app on "national security" grounds - shows that the administration is in the wrong.
A representative for China said at the closed-door meeting on Friday that the measures “are clearly inconsistent with WTO rules, restrict cross-border trading services and violate the basic principles and objectives of the multilateral trading system,” a trade official familiar with the matter, who did not wish to be identified, said.
The official said the delegate described the U.S. failure to provide concrete evidence of the reasons for its measures a “clear abuse” of rules.
The US representative at the meeting pushed back.
In the same meeting, the United States defended its actions, saying they are intended to mitigate national security risks, the trade official said. The government has previously said data from American users is being accessed by the Chinese government.
The office of the U.S. Trade Representative had no immediate comment. An official at the Chinese mission to the WTO did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
The Chinese statement will not have any consequences on its own although China could launch an official legal complaint about it to the Geneva body.
While this doesn't necessarily mean that China will pursue another action against the US via the WTO if Trump doesn't drop his pursuit of TikTok, it's certainly a possibility. And it wouldn't be the first time China has manipulated the international trade body to Beijing's advantage.

YouTube embed. Click thumbnail to play. Taiwan Presents Weapons Shopping List To US At Key Defense Industry Conference
Taiwan is set to present a veritable weapons shopping list to American officials during the annual US-Taiwan Defense Industry Conference, which began Monday and is continuing Tuesday.
The conference is yet another event attracting the ire and watchful scrutiny of China, given it is representative of the growing military cooperation between Taipei and Washington, and goes back to 2002.
However, weapons sales will be a closed-door discussion issue. Among closed-door topics include “US defense cooperation with Taiwan, the defense procurement process and Taiwan’s defence and national security needs,” the council said according to South China Morning Post. It will also “provide opportunities to connect with others working on Taiwan defense and national security issues.”
Also sure to catch Beijing's notice following last month's ratcheting PLA aerial and sea drills around the island is the following statement on the conference agenda: “Taiwan’s deputy defense minister Chang Guan-chung is expected to brief the US side on the weaponry most needed and urgently sought by the island after seeing growing military intimidation from Beijing.”
Ahead of the conference Reuters pointed out last month the US is content to further build up 'Fortress Taiwan' while "needling China" - as it "plans to sell as many as seven major weapons systems, including mines, cruise missiles and drones to Taiwan, four people familiar with the discussions said, as the Trump administration ramps up pressure on China."
That prior extensive report previewed Taiwan's 'defense needs' - some of which are in various phases of passing US legal hurdles and discussions, according to Reuters :
Drones that can see over the horizon for surveillance and targeting, coupled with advanced missiles and coastal defenses that include smart mines and anti-submarine capabilities to impede a sea invasion…
A Lockheed Martin-made High Mobility Artillery Rocket System (HIMARS), essentially a truck-based rocket launcher, is among the weapons Taiwan wants, people familiar with the negotiations said.
at least four large sophisticated aerial drones to Taiwan for what could be about $600 million.
under discussion are land-based Boeing-made Harpoon anti-ship missiles to serve as a coastal defense against cruise missiles.
Other systems include "underwater sea mines and other capabilities to deter amphibious landing, or immediate attack," Taiwan's de facto ambassador here to United States said in July.
Anti-tank missile systems are also said to be under consideration, at a moment Chinese PLA naval and aerial drills near the island have been on the uptick. Beijing has repeatedly signaled that it considers reunification as a landmark mission and won't stand idly by as external forces intervene in what it sees as inter-China affairs.
For this week's US-Taiwan Defense Industry Conference, no US official will need to visit the island given the talks are being done entirely by remote means due to the global pandemic.

Xi Says War Must Be Fought To Deter Invaders, "Violence Met With Violence" Necessary
Chinese state media is widely circulating a new bellicose statement from President Xi Jinping made on a key Korean War anniversary for Beijing. The quote is going viral following the US presidential debate between Trump and Biden where both were asked how they would "stand up" to the China threat.
Xi is reported to have said "war must be fought to deter invasion, and violence must be met by violence" in what's possibly his most openly jingoistic statement targeting the US to date, though without specifically referencing the United States or any external enemy in particular. But given China fought against the US side in the Korean War, the implications are clear.
According to the Global Times the statement which is also meant to show support to the Chinese PLA military is going viral through social and other media.
"It's necessary to speak to invaders in the language they know: that is, a war must be fought to deter invasion, and violence must be met by violence," Xi said according to the full quote.
"Victory is needed to win peace and respect. China will never cower before threats, or be subdued by suppression," the Chinese president added.
The "patriotic" statement is now widely circulating in Chinese state publications, including the major People's Daily. It was issued on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of China entering the Korean War to fight American troops there.
It also comes a day after the US once again went on the offensive against Chinese state-linked media, adding six more of its media organizations operating in the US to the State Department's designated list of "foreign missions".
Beijing is said to be preparing its own 'retaliatory' action. The number of Chinese outlets which must register in the US as arms of a foreign government is now at 15, as the tit-for-tat with the Trump administration rages on.
More importantly, tensions are rising sharply surrounding Taiwan, with an increase of Chinese military exercises meant to pressure Taipei into accepting Chinese sovereignty over the island. Meanwhile Washington has pledged to transfer more weapons there, which China says is a severe violation of the 'One China' policy status quo.

Statement from National Security Advisor Robert C. O’Brien
Issued on: October 23, 2020
National Security Council
The United States promotes a free and open Indo-Pacific region where likeminded nations uphold the international rules-based order.
The United States is a Pacific power. The People’s Republic of China’s illegal, unreported, and unregulated fishing, and harassment of vessels operating in the exclusive economic zones of other countries in the Indo-Pacific, threatens our sovereignty, as well as the sovereignty of our Pacific neighbors and endangers regional stability. Efforts of the United States Government, including the United States Coast Guard (USCG) are critical to countering these destabilizing and malign actions.
The USCG continues to modernize and enhance the capabilities of its fleet of major cutters, which play a prominent role in protecting our vital national interests, and where appropriate, those of our partners in the region. To that end, the USCG is strategically homeporting significantly enhanced Fast Response Cutters, built in a proven Louisiana-based shipyard, in the western Pacific. The new generation of Fast Response Cutters will conduct maritime security missions, such as fisheries patrols, enhance maritime domain awareness and enforcement efforts in collaboration with regional partners who have limited offshore surveillance and enforcement capacity, and ensure freedom of navigation.
In an effort to bolster our capacity and presence in the Indo-Pacific region, in Fiscal Year 2021, the USCG plans to evaluate the feasibility of basing Fast Response Cutters in American Samoa. If the survey is favorable, the United States could further expand its presence in the South Pacific.
Enhancing the presence of the USCG in the Indo-Pacific ensures the United States will remain the maritime partner of choice in the region.

Not well sauced, but worth further study anyhow. This site gnews.org has started dropping purported images off the Hunter Biden hard drive(s).
Every Penny That Europeans Spend on Oil and Gas is Taxed to the Biden Family!
Whistleblower Tony Bobulinski issued a statement in the New York Post yesterday stating that Jobe is the “BIG GUY” that holds 10% of the company. This trade is realized through a contract that pays 10 million US dollars to Hunter Biden in the form of “consultant fees” for a three-year period totaling 30 million.
Tony Bobulinski is the CEO of Sinohawk Holding, and the recipient of the email about the contract in “Hard Drive Gate”. Sinohawk Holding is a company jointly established by Chinese Communist Party businessman Ye Jianming (one of the Chinese Communist Party’s white gloves with a Chinese military background) and Hunter Biden. The current disclosed shareholding status of this company is Hunter Biden 20% (about), Jim Biden 10%, and Joe Biden 10%.
Sinohawk Holding specializes in oil and gas projects in Russia, which are transferred through Ukraine and eventually sold to the entire European Union. Because this oil and gas trading project was carried out under NATO under the leadership of the United States, in view of the fact that Russia became a hostile country with the United States on the Crimean Peninsula issue at the time, the two countries did not establish diplomatic relations, so this trade must be obtained by the former US President Obama and Vice With President Joe Biden’s agreement, it is clear that both of them are supporters of the deal.
This Russian oil and gas project is a goose that will continue to lay golden eggs for the Biden family: every barrel of oil and every cubic meter of natural gas is sold at an increase of 10% to 20%, and the profits generated are distributed in proportion to the contract. These huge sums of money can be held anonymously through family trust funds, or distributed to shareholders through various methods such as real estate and company shares. The oil and gas contract held by Hunter is worth 4.5 billion U.S. dollars, and the contract period is 5 years. If the Biden family still holds power when the contract expires, they can still keep the goose laying the golden egg. And if the Biden family loses power and is replaced by a new powerful person, then this 4.5 billion contract will be used to bribe the new powerful person.
Sinohawk Holding is not only a project transfer company, but also a consulting service company and lobbying company. Not only Joe holds shares in this company, but there are also many other European dignitaries, which will definitely subvert readers’ imaginations. (Everything will gradually surface, please continue to pay attention to the follow-up report of GNEWS)
It should be noted that in this process, the CCP did not pay any money. As a Chinese saying goes, they tie a white wolf with bare hands. Even the small amount of initial start-up fees paid in advance came from international bank loans. Once the project is launched, profits come from EU oil and gas expenses. In other words, every penny spent by the people of the European Union to buy petroleum products and natural gas has an illegal hidden tax burden, and this money goes to the CCP, the Biden family, and many other politicians who colluded with the CCP! This is actually a blatant robbery against the people of the European Union and a blood-sucking contract.
In this deal, the oil and gas belong to Russia, the consumers are EU citizens, and the licensors are American politicians. So why do they need the CCP to make this deal?
First of all, the black box operation system constructed by the CCP skips the supervision mechanism of all democratic countries. The desires of those degenerate political figures that cannot be obtained in the democratic world can be satisfied by the CCP.
Second, the CCP is the world’s largest money laundering base. Only the CCP can launder all these astronomical amounts of dirty money. Alibaba, Tencent and other companies listed in the United States and Hong Kong are money laundering companies. This is why the 700 listed companies in the United States have not been able to be cleaned up, why Wall Street has always supported Biden, and why Hong Kong’s decoupling cannot proceed. Because the interests of countless people are tied to the CCP.
All kind people, do you still think that the CCP’s penetration of the civilized world is just a conspiracy theory? Do you still think these political games are far away from every ordinary person? It is not a possibility for the CCP to rule the world. It is something that has already happened. Before everything is irreversible, everyone who refuses to be enslaved must speak out, spread the truth, and urge the government to drain the swamp of their own country and fight against the most evil regime in the mankind history: the Chinese Communist Party.

The Bones are back: B-1s return to Guam
Two B-1B Lancer aircraft prepare to land during a Bomber Task Force deployment at Andersen Air Force Base in Guam this week. (Pacific Air Forces)
Four B-1B Lancer bombers and 200 airmen from Dyess Air Force Base in Texas arrived at Andersen Air Force Base in Guam Tuesday for a bomber task force mission, Pacific Air Forces said in a release.
The bombers and airmen, with Dyess' 9th Expeditionary Bomb Squadron, were sent to Guam to support PACAF’s training missions with allies, partner forces and joint forces such as the U.S. Navy.
This represents the latest in a string of near-monthly B-1 bomber task force rotations to Guam since the Air Force ended the continuous bomber presence in April.
“Every bomber task force is important because they accomplish both tactical and strategic objectives,” said Lt. Col. Ryan Stallsworth, the squadron’s commander. “As we conduct training operations, we are able to increase our bomber force lethality, readiness and experience across the force. It also demonstrates the Department of Defense’s ability to operate in an agile fashion to the world.”

On their way to Guam, the bombers trained with the amphibious assault ship America, which is now deployed to the western Pacific Ocean, PACAF said in Thursday’s release.
The bombers also linked up with 16 F-15s and two F-2s from the Japanese Self-Defense Force, also called the Koku-Jieitai, near the Sea of Japan.
“The training proved to be a very good opportunity to improve tactical skills as well as to show our commitment to the robust Japan-U.S. alliance and the region,” said Lt. Col. Kobayashi Yoshiyuki, commander of the Koku-Jieitai’s 305th Fighter Squadron, in the release. “Through continued bilateral trainings between the Koku-Jieitai and the U.S. Air Force, we are tough and strong, and always ready.”
