So it seems at this stage that all groups are vulnerable to retreating to their little ponds seeking only what truth suits them. Our media and information networks seem now designed to favour this. Fake news is not something only the left or right contend with. Disinformation shows astonishing prevalence in the current setting a news headline dropped may contain no truth whatsoever and may still yield reaction from whatever groups may be targeted. All groups are vulnerable /pol/'s memetics though advanced at propagation are rather limited in terms of truth detection however since they particularly 8ch's particular subset of it have some goal in mind this seems less able to disrupt them unless they are managed in such a way as to yield the desired results such as in the recent doxxings 8pol was involved in versus the right stuff. Their findings invariably brought them some vindication but in the process set back their goals somewhat too potentially. That said my concern is a question to all of those who remain here. How does one parse out disinformation to acquire the truth no matter how troublesome to any narrative set including /pol/'s. How does one see what is true and what must be rejected as simply a convenient lie given that we exist in a post modernist nightmarescape of subjectivity and relativism.

>How does one see what is true and what must be rejected as simply a convenient lie given that we exist in a post modernist nightmarescape of subjectivity and relativism.

The first step, of course, the holy word logos.

But that's too broad.

The biggest thing, of course, would be to seek out opposing opinions yourself. I realize we are in a sea of retarded nobodies, but nothing has changed, only that the retarded nobodies of yesterday are useless as the retarded nobodies of today-- You won't get much out of them. If people fail, use books on the subjects you like.

Want to learn about economics? Go dive out into the classics like "The Wealth of Nations" or something. I would recommend having basic knowledge on whatever you're investigating.

Also realize that escaping a group does not entail rejecting all their views. You can think /pol/ is retarded and Trump isn't going to save America but still agree there's something funky going on about those Rich Jews on the U.S.

This is all basic logic really, the biggest thing is that you have to separate yourself form your emotions. Relying on logic is not a gut feeling.

The only way to beat the psychological war is to stay sober. Don't get emotionally attached to any website, any e-celeb or any media. Keep your distance and always strive to think for yourself.

.

That's all you need, and I think at some point we knew how to do that a little better, but lately the hiveminds of the intenet became too strong. Our minds don't know how to deal with this new information age, keep that in mind. No one is invulnerable and recognizing your weaknesses is a strenght.

/pol/ has gone to having some good to batshit insane with some occasional interesting threads, I have no trust on what their hivemind says anymore and I'm certain they're being manipulated.

I think in the future they'll realize they've been played by yet another zionist puppet (Trump). That will break the opposition even more. They're heading for a disaster.

We'll also get raided with more porn because of the new embeds. That's more psychological warfare right on this site.

the war will escalate, the disinformation will become even more venomous and nebulous. The effort it seems is to eliminate the center and induce a state of polarity in everyone. Both ends of the spectrum want this because that is the tipping point they both gamble on...and therein lies the trick that was pulled by those in charge.

^ same poster as here

Elaborationg a little more:

As a simple exercise Occam's Razor seems to prove an invaluable methodology for approaching "news" in general. But in general be wary of emotionally disarming language being used as cues to drive a point or conclusion to any report. Loaded language is used and abused by mainstream media and it seems the lesser elements along with their direct competition (filterman) are playing into this game as well.

Semiotics has become part and parcel of everyday psychological warfare, so it does good to question the aesthetic of the phrasing they use in reporting as well.

OP it's a hard line to walk. On the one hand one must stay informed about the world but on the other every source of information can not be trusted. The truth is always twisted to serve the agendas of those presenting the information.

My personal journey through life has been a constant struggle for the truth. I found myself begin lied to whenever I looked for it. The public schooling system managed to turn me against my parents and brainwashed me into believing globalism was the best thing for humanity. It took a long time to break this conditioning but a long the way I discovered /pol/ and related places. After many years I had found my political leanings had done a total 180. At some point I realized I was falling for the same tricks, just from the other side, and that some of the things /pol/ advocates now were just as bad as the things my teachers had brainwashed me into believing. While I do not fancy shouting from the fence and claiming neutrality I can understand why people do that.

Embed related. I used to be a TVfag to the extreme. I'd say over 50% of my free time growing up was spent in front of the television. In my teens I started ignoring it and using it mostly for background noise while I worked on my PC. Until one day I realized I could quote commercials I had never seen word for word simply from hearing them so often. Even though I wasn't paying attention to it they had managed to weasel their way into my mind. I'm not sure when I cut the cord for good but one day I just didn't turn the TV on and now I'm about a decade from that point. I have noticed my mind is much clearer and I actually think deeply about subjects now. I've also noticed that my peers spend way too much time watching it and that they consider me an oddball because I know nothing of pop culture after the early 2000s. It's hard to relate to them as well because all they want to do is stare at a screen and they get annoyed with conversation during that time. I have just given up on hanging around people like that unless there is some activity planned.

The internet is more of the same. That's why access to it is given away to the masses/poor. The only difference is the narrative can no longer be directly controlled like TV, so instead so many conflicting opinions are spread that you'll spend a life time sorting through them all.

You're a good example of what I've said. You recognized your weakness (TV) and acted accordingly. Our paths are very similar also. I'm really bad at keeping track of time, but I'd guess it's been 5 years since I stopped watching TV and I never looked back.

I wanted to say that this method is garbage and its best to not touch News anymore.

I mean, go ahead, try it, but it will drag you in. You'll soon realize those retarded headlines and unbalanced articles are made to string you around like candy is supposed to string along a child. You'll still become "fat" in the mind, in the sense that it'll become slow and tire easy.

The truth is memetics in the past were monopolized by jews through the printing press, this is why they were given so much importance in the protocols of zion. Now /pol/ has taken the meme fight to them asymmetrically.

Good point

The Hegelian dialectic is so effective it staggers the imagination. Even if people know it happening they still tolerate it.

Well if I may, what is the Hegelian Dialectic?

2+2=3, the state's endgame is to create an unreality by forcing falsities as politically correct doctrine, their lies and their lies alone will be accept as truth.

Creating polarity is a means to this, it'll come to converge with artificial crises imparted by the state.
