I don't get why the genius minds behind 8chan would do that to my country when it's not been involved in hacks/raids/botting, as far as I know. Also, what's even the logic behind blocking a country but allowing VPN use? At least some people from the blocked country will be able to bypass the block. Doesn't that defeat the purpose?

Question for the anons who aren't from blocked regions or have a VPN. How active are the 2 8chans I can't reach?

Assuming you aren't blocked for being Israeli, and the site isn't down again, they are at least half as active as 4chan but twice as active as 8kun. /v/ is the most active board on 8chan.

.moe and .se are just mirrors for the same site, if one doesn't work the other usually will. /vg/ and /v/ seem to alternate in active users, the jannies said they will eventually move /v/ generals to /vg/ but the general infrastructure is superior to 4chan and if it comes back I'm going to insist we move our group over there.

50mb post limit, videos are allowed to have sound, the jannies/mods actively listen to the community and ban racebaiting spammers.

I'm not familiar with this chan enough to know how it compares, but most people say don't bother with it.

Thanks for the informative answer. I checked the other 2 8chans and both give me the same error. I guess my country is blocked for the moment. Which I really don't get why they'd do that. I understand blocking Brazil, China, India, Israel, etc.

But why Romania? What did my fellows here do to deserve such a harsh treatment? Now I know some may bring up the gypsy subhumans, but those are a small percentage of the population that everyone hates, like below 5% or something like that. The rest of us are Caucasian, as you'd expect. If they're going by that logic, they better have blocked Hungary, Bulgaria and Greece, too. Since any one of those places have way more shitskins than we ever did. Won't even mention countries from the west, like Germany and France, those guys are overflowing with sand-niggers since 2014.

Surely we aren't being blocked for that reason, God knows the USA surely isn't blocked and that place has 16% straight up niggers in its population. My working theory is that they're blocking some countries that are otherwise ok because their servers or whatever can't handle all the traffic without shitting the bed every 5 minutes.

Now that's a thinker. I feel like my gov just isn't the type to do that, though. What's even weirder is that they didn't block 4chan in all the long years it existed.

The first few days of this mess I could go on 8chan with no issues. Suddenly my country's gov just up and decides to block access to this very small and niche site, that is barely active and, in the grand scheme of things, VERY few people know about? To me that just doesn't make sense, but I could be wrong. I wonder if a VPN can still help then?

To be honest with you, I'm not sure what to say bro. There are rumors about it coming back and I don't even know if those rumors have any base in reality. If they're true there is still no way to tell exactly when it'll come back. My bet is on at least a month from now, maybe even several months.

The question we should be asking rather, is if/when it comes back, will all the anons on 8chan even go back? Or at least the majority of them? Not just fellow /ddlc/ anons, I mean all anons in general. You have to admit 8chan has better functionality and stuff than 4chinz. That, and as far as we know now, 8chan doesn't sell you out to the feds and """countries""" like Israel are blocked.

If 2x2chan is to return, successfully, it has to do what 2x4chan is doing and maybe even do it better.

even if 4chan comes back better than ever before, will it still have the same mods and jannies behind it? cuz if that's a yes, this fact alone will have the opposite effect of getting people back

I won't lie, if/when 8chan stops blocking my country or I find a (free) VPN to solve that, I don't see why I'd go back to 4chan. 8chan may have low server capacity or whatever, but I can see that changing in time.
