He went on to write songs for tranny show Steven Universe but before that he wrote very solid stuff for a bunch of crappy licensed games. The one I linked you is from the other composer Ian Stocker releasing the uncompressed version on youtube. I split apart the songs and released them on this channel.

Shame Naruke doesn't do much solo composition anymore, and the last game she did so for was apparently too late of a release to be deemed worth bringing over.

Getting on in years, perhaps? Though it's not like that's stopped other composers (Sugiyama's 88 and still going on Dragon Quest). Of late she's done guest arrangement for Smash Bros (Bloody Tears, Mad Monster Mansion, and Let's Go to Seoul) and co-composition for the mobileshit reboot Wild Arms: Million Memories (I'd like to think at least the OST would be good in light of that much the way the official art is, but fuck Sony for dumping the series on the mobile train like it's got no value being on their own systems). Think she's also been involved with Project Re;fire as the ongoing Wild Arms anniversary concert project, but that's still co-composition. Does seem she was releasing her own album series or something from 2013 to 2014 called "Feedback" (six total). I wonder if there's uploads of those around.
Anyhow, since you like Naruke, look into the OST for Nora to Toki if you haven't yet. Really nice music by her there.

That was quick. Reminds me of how fast Breath of Fire 6 went under. What a fantastic anniversary gift to fans this was. Reminder that Sony killed Wild Arms 6 to have Media.Vision make that instead.
>I couldn't find anything even on 2ch. I'll ask around in Akihabara when i'll get there this year, but those albums, even the most recent one, might be hard to find.
Did some looking myself. vk had Feedback 3rd, and doujinstyle had Feedback 5th, but the rest I can't find uploads of. Chink pirating sites might have more but I'm not sure I'd trust those. From what I can tell after looking following some links on an apparent promotional soundcloud, the entire series, even the most recent release (Feedback 7th), as well as the "Flat" duology (co-composed with Noriyuki Iwadare) are all out of print from what I've seen. Might be a good idea to familiarize yourself with the cover arts before you go, just to make it a bit easier to find.
And if you do manage to find them, could you rip and upload them to a share thread in the future?

Definitely. I admit it was a pretty niche franchise, but they could have sold it to someone else more willing to continue it. Who am i kidding, Sony probably left WA in the dust with many other games like The Legend of Dragoon.

More popular in Japan to my knowledge, where I suppose the setting felt more exotic, and Media.Vision definitely seemed to want to continue it. Sadly, it's kind of a shock in retrospect it kept on as long as it did, given the prevalence of Sony at ignoring series they own after a generation's passed, if not just a single sequel (if anything). Of course, it might not help matter when they had the likes of IGN calling it a "filler" series in import reviews.
>I searched on vk and i managed to find Feedback, 3rd, 4th and 5th.
Odd that I could only get results for 3rd when I'd tried. Looking again, maybe it wasn't in the dump I was looking through. Another also had Feedback 1st and 6th, and the Flats as well. I guess that leaves Feedback 2nd, 3rd Plus and 7th.

While I found it sad that Naruke didn't return to the series beyond composition for the openings and endings after getting sick partway through WA4's development, I was glad that the replacements (Kouda and Agematsu) managed to keep the soundtrack quality high for subsequent games. I mean, they're clearly not Naruke's style, but I found them to fit quite well, as if respecting the standard she had set for previous OSTs.

Went looking for more specifics. 3rd Plus' differences seem to be that Desktop and 向かい風の彼方 are arrangetracks. Also seems like a second Vocal Collection for Wild Arms came out about a year ago (the previous being "Alone the World"), titled "Milestone" and containing a previously unreleased track by that name, in addition to vocal pieces from most entries in the series aside from 5. Not sure it's worth looking around for over one track when the rest on it might be ports (keyword: might; a lot having been in Alone the World prior, they could be arranges this time), but food for thought.

I knew she didn't compose the music of Wild Arms 5, but didn't know that detail about Wild Arms 4. At least they considered to call her back to compose (in collaboration with others) the music for the mobile game. If the franchise is 100% dead, I just hope she'll release more Feedback albums.

Most likely, yes; that's where the biggest budget tends to be, and when they're not being impressed by visuals on their own accord, they're likely being given kickbacks by companies willing to dump money into them as marketing. And really, that sort of view of games is a cancer, and probably pervasive on the consumer end as well: that good games that can very much stand on their own merit might as well just be there to kill time between the releases people are actually looking forward to (or at least told to). Granted, it probably didn't help either that for a lot of older fans, at least here in the west, WA4 killed any goodwill they had towards the series' future.
>I knew she didn't compose the music of Wild Arms 5, but didn't know that detail about Wild Arms 4.
Yeah, I think some of the tracks, even beyond the opening and ending, were still by her, but again, without direct attribution, it can be hard to tell who did what. Maybe the OST manuals might list such crediting? The wikis for the series out here sure don't, but those are rather spotty and often pages are barebones anyhow.
>At least they considered to call her back to compose (in collaboration with others) the music for the mobile game. If the franchise is 100% dead, I just hope she'll release more Feedback albums.
Yeah. Better than, say, Square-Enix only having Kikuta arrange two tracks for the Secret of Mana remake. They also brought her back for Score Re;fire, probably the only really good thing to come of the series 20th anniversary by my estimate. Not sure if that's set to see album releases, or has intentionally been concert only.

The music was definitely the highest point of the game. I can't say I hate 4 myself, but that might be because I first played it long after release, and hadn't paid full price/suffered pre-release hype backlash (in fact, I guess I had really low expectations coming from what other's had said and only bothered to play it because it was cheap). I got my $15 worth of enjoyment. Still not a good Wild Arms game though, and even pricewise, 3 being about $10 in comparison gave a lot more bang for my buck prior.
I kind of wonder what average Japanese series fan reception was like though, whether it was as venomous as western fans. I mean, given that WA5 brought back more of the western aspect, I assume that they'd have taken complaints there might have been about the sci-fi push into account, but did 4 prompt a longstanding "everything past 3 is dead to me" reaction there too?

I played 4 on emulator only. I never bothered to pay for games.
As for the japanese reaction, i do'nt know anything official. But judging by the game's theme and what was going on in japanese media at the time, i suspect that the whole plot of "muh adults are evil" might be what really made people avoid it, if they did avoid it. Many japanese entertainment productions at the time were pushing this propaganda of putting kids and teenagers against adults and portraying adults as being evil incarnate. I don't know what sparked that, or what was the intention behind it, but many fans of many forms of entertainment united to reject and boycott those containing that theme, from about 2001 up to 2008. Wild arms 4 might be one of the boycotted productions. The 5th game changing aesthetics might be just the studio trying to distance itself from the 4th game by taking away any visual aspect that might remind the 4th game. Japanese companies do that often, when something fails. They change the visual aspect in order to evoke change/deceive consumers into thinking that the new product has nothing to do with the rejected product.

Maybe, but 5 being an anniversary title, it still had Wild Arms 4's protagonists in it as cameos. So unless you mean avoiding the manga cut-in style for various cutscenes, or outward "adults are evil" vibe, I find it a bit hard to believe they wouldn't want to remind people about the fourth game (avoid the same mistakes, sure), when Jude and friends are right there. But then again, so was everyone else from 1/ACF, 2, and 3. Was a tad surprised there wasn't at least a reference to Sheyanne or Maxi in 5 though, but maybe the anime and manga were considered too distant.

We will only know for sure if someone digs up info from posts made by japanese consumers at the time in forums or other places for sure.
Another thing to take into account is the whole fiasco of western companies such as EA and Microshit promising funds for japanese developers at the time, in exchange for them publicly dismissing the japanese market. It may have cause a snowball reaction in the japanese fanbase of some games, studios and companies. And the consequences because of it might be growing even today, since a lot more of the japanese audience is either moving to PC, or abandoning video games at all. Even those embracing mobileshit are always avoiding cash grabs with famous brands, and only playing games from newer brands.

The way I kind of saw it with Breath of Fire 6, it could just well be that the brand and publisher just don't have the awareness with mobilefags that Square-Enix does. Square's kind of got the stigma for better or worse of being a JRPG company and quite a well known one, while people probably don't think nearly that much of Capcom or Sony. Capcom's had, what, Breath of Fire and Mega Man: Battle Network/Star Force? And Sony's main three being Wild Arms, PoPoLoCrois, and Arc the Lad. Also some other minor dabblings by both, but it's not like they've really tried to keep any of them very relevant in the years leading up to the mobile ones (though on the other extreme, there's something to be said against milking shit like Nintendo does). And then they essentially reboot Wild Arms and Breath of Fire as mobile games, without even porting the older games to see if there's interest there first? Just feels like they saw Square-Enix doing well at it and wanted some of that pie, like even an audience that would be apt to go "literally who?" about both still stood to earn them more money than their existing base on console or handheld. I suppose the real question is, how many people playing either were actually former fans, or did both cases anger those sorts over being tossed aside?
I still say Bamco has, at least in the past and in regard to Tales, had the right idea about mobile: giving the base there a few actual ports and some crossover titles to generate interest, but then telling them to go play the rest of the main games on actual systems if they want more, rather than shift focus to catering to them. Though, it's far less forgivable how they tried to nickle and dime them at the same time. Not even mobilefags with their shit taste in medium are apt to stand for shit like paying microtransactions to unlock save points, which the Phantasia iPort was heavily lambasted for, at least on this side of the Pacific.

I can tell from experience: Fate GO is so popular, that there are even arcade boots where they can play with their phones, real cards and shit. It also looks expensive, in fact i saw a guy in particular who was dropping cash like crazy.

>people probably don't think nearly that much of Capcom or Sony.
Sony never really wanted to invest money on JRPGS after the PS1 era. It's pretty obvious by looking at their ips. Now, since it moved the playstation HQ to California, i can almost say they won't even consider the genre anymore.
>without even porting the older games to see if there's interest there first?
Wait, didn't they port a few Wild Arms titles to the ps4 or something? I might be wrong, i stopped buying playstation since the ps2.
>I suppose the real question is, how many people playing either were actually former fans, or did both cases anger those sorts over being tossed aside?
Hard to say. Personally i don't like one of my favorite franchises ending up as a mobile game.
For games like Wild Arms and Breath of Fire, this look like one last "modern-day" attempt to revamp them and analyze how much people are still interested in them, while for more famous games it's just another way of milking money and with less effort.
>Bamco example
I'm not well informed on how Tales was doing at the time, but i suppose it might end up in the first case i mentioned above: to analyze if people are still interested and if so, deliver more proper games.

>Sony never really wanted to invest money on JRPGS after the PS1 era.
In Japan, Sony's always owned Wild Arms. It was the western branches that stopped giving a shit about publishing at the time, with SCEA ceasing to care after WA3, and SCEE after Wild Arms 1 (PAL never got WA2, 3 was published there by Ubisoft, and they never got ACF either). As to other RPGs, SCEJ did fund the continued existence of Arc the Lad into the PS2, Okage: Shadow King, Dual Hearts (or does that count as action/adventure?), Rogue Galaxy, Dark Cloud, and Tsugunai, so I wouldn't say PS2 was quite when they stopped caring about JRPGs. The Japanese branch, anyhow: SCEA only had interest in having their name on about half of those. Certainly right that they're probably long past the point of caring to keep having their own offerings though. Only RPGs I recall them funding for PS3 were Folklore and Demon's Souls (action RPGs). PSP had Wild Arms XF and PoPoLoCrois, both of which SCEA didn't give a shit about, and the latter of which seems to have been outright sold off as it's since been on phones and crossed-over with Story of Seasons for the 3DS.
>Wait, didn't they port a few Wild Arms titles to the ps4 or something? I might be wrong, i stopped buying playstation since the ps2.
I specifically meant that they didn't bother to port any of the older games (like 1 and 2) to mobile first. 1 and 2 did get digital eboot rereleases for PS3, PSP, and Vita, 3 got an eventual PS4 "HD" (IE: upscaled, trophied, and more expensive than the PS2 original is preowned where I am) PSN rerelease a few years back, and 5 got a PS3 PSN rerelease but only in Japan. I've heard before that XSEED supposedly wanted to try to port all the PS2 games to the North American PS3 PSN, but technical issues made it too difficult (could similarly be a reason why it took 5 until 2014 to get on Japan's PSN; 1 and 2 were 2006 and 2007 there).

>I can tell from experience: Fate GO is so popular, that there are even arcade boots where they can play with their phones, real cards and shit. It also looks expensive, in fact i saw a guy in particular who was dropping cash like crazy.
Probably, new IPs for mobileshit don't cause the automatic rejection that famous brands do when they are turned into cash-grabs.
As for expending like crazy, the Japanese urban population are conditioned since their infancy into becoming gambling addicts and impulsive spenders. The country's economy practically survives on those behaviors.

That was most likely me. Kind of stopped bothering with those when people wouldn't even so much as hazard a guess on the ones I'd been making after a while. Might have been my own doing though, for picking shit most people wouldn't have heard before anyhow.

The Genesis version of Mortal Kombat 1 and 2 had completely redone music that took full advantage of the sound chips in it. I honestly love the Genesis versions more for this specific reason. Especially The Pit here. I mean, jesus fuck, it gives this haunting tension that some bad shit was gonna go down.
