The shitstorm going down on Plebbit over T_D getting quarantined the night of the debates, combined with the recent win by the GG wiki seems to have finally been enough to break me out of my malaise. I'm still working too fucking much IRL, but important shit is afoot everywhere and I need to quit being a spectating faggot who sits around dealing with life all day.
I'm working on angles. I've got an e-meeting with a couple of familiar faces from KiA tomorrow to start coordinating a big project that I've had backburnered for months, as well as reviving a project I abandoned back in 2016 because it seems like it'll be much more useful now. It was announced in August of 2017 for the anniversary, launched in October with Bonegolem generously providing hosting, and finished in time for Christmas that year. I have been brainstorming some ideas for how to pitch it to my Democratic Senators and will post them here for anyone else who would like to try to get it passed:

Make the argument that Gab serves as an echo chamber and further radicalizes individuals.
Make the argument that regardless of if social media sites are or are not unfairly targeted politically right content, some sort of auditing process could do wonders for keeping people from leaving main stream social media sites and keeping them off of sites like Gab.
Biden is currently the front runner in the polls, and his centrism is the kind of thing that the Democratic establishment is looking for. Biden recently pointed out his ability to work with segregationists as a strong point for him as a good candidate. Make the argument that the bill is in line with Biden's message of working with and not ostracizing people of extreme political ideologies opposite of what you may believe.

4. Due to how Youtube is pandering to kids incessently, anything with mature content is getting demonitized to the point that Minecraft and Fortnite are the only safe topics for most Youtubers (Despite the guns in Fortnite, there's no blood)
5.Specifically he points out Mortal Kombat 11 as a badly marketed game half because of it's quality, but mostly because of it's quality, which led to an unnatural price lowering on the second day of release by 10 bucks, which is unprecedented and insane in the marketing world, no product in the games industry has had this happen before now, at least very few.
6. It's entirely because of Youtube that game quality has lowered, censorship has skyrocketed and basically why Fortnite is the only thing really being marketed.

This loops back to your first point but when Andromeda came out, it was trashed not just because it was bad and bland but also because of the word of mouth gifs that got out. So while paid influence has some hold over the success of a game, the Earned aspect is still the primary I think.
I also don't think it's all just YT's fault. It's no secret marketing budgets have gotten bigger over the years and that's due in part to paying off the parasites. YT threatened this however because the gaming press were willing to just suck up the money for good reviews but Tubers can just show footage and give the player a view of how the game is.
That censorship view only applies to western companies as well, Japanese games and the like doesn't cater to supposed censorship policies.
