You have to realise that, around… fourty ? years ago, something like that, gas companies in France lobbied so that diesel would get undertaxed. That meant most car manufacturers always made their cheapest models run on diesel. So, nowadays, numerous (if not most) old cars, and therefore least expensive ones and, thus, owned by poor people, run on diesel. However, diesel is terrible for the environment. Like, just awful. So for years and years and years, the government has tried to at least raise diesel's prices up to other types of gas' levels. It's as simple as that.
The real issue is, people who can't afford to lose their job because they can't feed themselves and their kids, have no access to transportation, healthcare, hospitals, schools, etc. are fucked by those, because, again, the only cars they can afford run on diesel, and more expensive gas means less money to feed yourself at the end of the week.
But to that, you have to add the fact that argument of "being environment-friendly" is kind of bullshit in the first place : in terms of diesel consumption, boats and planes are immensely heavier, and, weirdly, the price of gas for them wasn't planning on changing by a single cent. Basically, that was like saying "poor people have to make an effort for the environment, but rich industries don't have to".
THAT kind of mentality and practice is why people are pissed. And to be entirely fair, it's not even entirely Macron's fault, as the prices of gas for boats and planes are decided by some canadian agencies, which don't give a hoot's ass about environment, only about profits. But then, that implies the entire system is built to ensure poor people get poorer, and rich people get richer, and even manages to try and guilt-trip poor people for NOT making an effort.
THAT is the real reason behind this revolt. Not just gas.

What most people don't get is that old growth forests need fire. Fire is the reset button, it allows for non diverse forests to replenish nutrients for the next cycle of new and old growth. Want to live in the forest, go for it, but mitigate your property. Proper mitigation can save a house on its own in many cases, and in many others the mitigation gives firefighters a better chance of stopping fire from reaching homes.

The main hook for the story is the mystery of what happened on the final night when they fled the house. Unfortunately looking it up, the Save Wizard is a paid service requiring firmwares to be at 5.05 and below and other ps4 save editing methods/programs requires the same firmware restriction and for consoles to be jailbroken as well. And I also just hopped into the game and forgot that dusty tokens are only awarded once you take the treasure hint picture and send it to the now dead servers. So while you can find treasure chests offline, you can not gain dutsy tokens offline. The only way to gain access to that content is to be on a jailbroken ps4 or already have the save data. Save data that is locked to specific profiles so I can't even upload my save files for you to download to unlock the content for you.
Boy I fucking love online servers screwing over single player gameplay. And I love Sony for being unable to support the least fucking demanding online component of a game that likely cost them $10 a damn year, their own first party game at that. The worst part is how fucking low demanding their own first-party online service was. It wasn't MMO-tier or multiplayer lobbies and matching-making and having to sync every player on the server. It consisted soley of:

That's it. It was entirely asymmetric interactions since neither of the two involved players needed to be online at the same time even. You sent a pathetically tiny amount of data to the servers and the server would send it out a randomly chosen person with about a week's limit for them to accept/decline the rating/challenge.
The only saving grace is that this game was hit far less than other games relatively speaking since the overall content was, again relatively speaking to entire modes and campaigns and games even, minorly affected. Since the content locked out is entirely client side already in the game itself only needing an online check or homebrew to unlock and consists of a few outfits, photo items props, and poses/gestures. Content that can still be unlocked albeit if your ps4 is on a compatible firmware for homebrew/piracy/jailbraking/save editing. So thankfully nothing is permantently lost, unlike any other game where the content was actually stored/hosted server-side, it's only a matter of if your firmware will allow you to unlock it yourself yet or not.
