Start with Re;Birth 1 to test the waters, then play Re;Birth 2 and/or Re;Birth 3 (with the Re;Translations), and then V-II.

Translation Statuses are:
HDN, HDN Mk2 and Victory: NISA cancer.
Re;Birth 1 and V-II: Translation is alright, no worries from these ones.
Re;Birth 2: Not obviously bad at the start, but gets much worse as it goes along: in particular Neptune and Ram were screwed hard during localization. However, there is a Re;Translation made on our very own board (see above links).
Re;Birth 3: Better than the original NISA translation in Victory but still quite a lot of cancer. Main game has been retranslated, translators still required to translate DLC content.
All of the spin-offs: Varying translation quality. These range from cancer to mediocre. Recent releases have been somewhat better overall.

Compile Heart seems to have shifted their priorities away from Neps somewhat to work on other stuff so I doubt they've got much work done on a new mainline game. I would tentatively say actually try it before saying that. I've at least not been able to get into it despite thinking the idea and design was neat. But no Noire gains more allies (friends) throughout based on different video games, and where (You) come is to save her at the start and serve to assist her. Outside of stages there's replying to different fan mail and ideally in a way that impresses her and results in some cute events with her, such as her cooking, and sleeping with (You). It's not terribly deep sadly.
Come to think of this I really want a Nep sim game with this idea fully fleshed out with all the girls. Not some weak mobile thing like Neptunia & Friends either.

I have a question for whoever did the Vita ports of the Re;birth 2 and 3 Re;translations if they're on here. Which files are actually necessary to alter to translate it and which ones just remove the English voice work (or in Re;birth 3 add it?) because I'm looking to re-pack them to delta patching. For most such mods it makes them a lot smaller to download, and with Re;birth 3 it's not hard for people who can use the translation to just install the official voice DLC. It might turn out to be bigger but I don't know.

Solo is definitely slower but also helps in not letting flashy visuals get in the way of seeing enemies and their cues. It's also educational because it has the same trick as Re;birth in that bunching enemies together = more hits = faster SP regen, and that mandragora type enemies also damage enemies on exploding so you can use them as impromptu suicide bombers in some situations.

Somehow pulled off a victory to cheetah's first appearance despite handicapping of using just Vert with glass cannon setup, and for 99% of the fight she was trapped in the boss hitbox. Sometimes that corrects itself but not this time and it was REALLY bad since I couldn't back up to use recovery magic and had to rely on items. Meanwhile he doesn't let up and parrying some of his attacks is awkward especially when I actually need to be using SP moves to actually do damage. So, I ended up burning through the standard restoration items, quickly dived into the menu to bind the other two (forgot about the HP+SP ones but thankfully that didn't matter), burnt through those and resorted to recovery magic which held on until he was almost dead and I got crippled by some status thing that interrupted casting, and died twice. Somehow managed to recover and finish him off after that. Anyway, while it's something to do so you can better focus on enemies and learn them, playing solo is kind of miserable. Early game enemies take time to kill, and bosses moreso require item and SP abuse and still take time. Thankfully I can switch to Green Heart now if I want. She really dishes it out.

Friend bought me Rebirth 1, 2, 3, and Megadimension VII. Going through Rebirth 1 so far.
I'm a total newfag to this (and JRPGs in general), so I didn't really know what to expect outside of "turn based combat" and "cute girls".
Seems fun so far, though? I like the roaming-around-while-fighting thing, and being able to just punch dudes is cool. Girls are cute, too, which is a plus.

Those Falcom guides are mainly for the order in which to play the games, not really how to play them or what one should do if they have trouble.
Nep doesn't really have such complications, just a few details that would be helpful to know. The OP does enough for the mainline games, and the spinoffs are sort of all over the place but you could really play any of them and be fine.

Well that sucks, I recently checked cuckchan's Nepgen (it's still as bad as it was when the second pic was posted in October 2016) and one guy was translating events from Mega Miracle Force. But they don't seem to care about making any sort of OC, or having discussions about the series for the most part. That's why I love these threads since you guys can easily do that, but the past couple of threads have been rather slow, like very slow. I really want that to change from now on. But, here's to what will be 4 years of theses threads.
I hope that RPG IF wants to reveal this spring will bring a renaissance to these threads.

Which isn't to say these threads are great or anything but there's nowhere to go but up, and they make me so thankful that this place is fairly quiet. High traffic usually correlates to low quality but imageboards turn that up to 11 if they're really generalized. So while it's partly culture, it's also partly that they have to post frequently to not have their thread drown in a sea of other more popular threads. That can't be kept to a high standard.

The problem with here is that most people have either played the games they've wanted to play a long time ago, and there's nothing new coming out related to Nep directly. There's other CH/IF games of course, but its looked at as more an after thought for these threads.

I've mainly been playing other games, unfortunately I've haven't played Trillion in months, I just feel zero motivation to continue… might be because of how tragic the game is, and partially because I have no save slots left so I'd have to overwrite one of my others and I just hate doing that, especially for a game like Trillion where it seems to be possible to have a bad end, and to be trapped in a bad situation if you fuck up your saves.
I really wish they allowed more saves, maybe its part of the challenge but I just feel fucking suffocated by it.
The other nep games, among other games period, have been on my backburner as a result… its very frustrating.
I think with hope Super Nep RPG might bring some discussion to the threads and revive it a little. Hopefully its not shit; I don't have much hope for non-nep games doing much for the thread though outside of a few posts.

Neptunia Doom would be pretty interesting.
I've been digging a lot into JRPG games and gameplay stuff recently, and I'm finding a lot of the newer games are a lot of fun. Implementing a sort of EXP grinding/levelling up system would be really easy for Doom and would work wonderfully for mapsets that turn into slaughter down the line.
This is slightly off-topic, but I've actually managed to throw together a small proof of concept. I'm looking forward to see how Neptunia influences it going foward. Outside of cute girls, which is mandatory.
