I have seven, because I have an insatiable fetish for decreasing the I\O bottleneck. Six on RAID0 because I'm a maniac, and one for boot because I'm not stupid enough to have /boot on the same drive as everything else on an encrypted system.

I fell for the Nvidia GTX 1080 meme. The reason I went for it is because I use at least three monitors at any given time, and when I built this machine I was inattentive enough to accidentally buy a motherboard that didn't have SLI for the GTX 960s that I already had, and by the time I found out I already had everything set up and I was out of patience so I just got the new card and went with it.
It's actually pretty good. I'd recommend it if you frequent tri or quad monitor like I do.

Look mate, if I'm buying a computer, I will USE it like a computer. That means Game Maker, Fruity Loops, Vegas, the works. And a 300 dollar notebook simply WILL NOT run any of that adequately.
And yeah, why would I drop 300 bucks on something that I can't use as a proper computer? Because my phone is slow? You mean for the ten messages I post a week on it?
>>34563
Yume Nikki, as I said, has a few okay elements in it, but mostly it's just an edgy artsy "oh lol this is a dream so everything is wacky" game.
Sans is whatever, but he didn't test your ability to use Yellow, Green or Purple.

I like gen 1 cause its glitchy as well, but if you're gonna use, "problems ruin games" you arent holding a consistent argument.
There's also the fact that gen 1 was the first game they made, and it was in the 90's as a gameboy game. Its not gonna be perfect
How is pokemon shit though. Literally anything anyone on here says is shit to you. Yet you like Love Live. So I hold the firm belief you are projecting your insecurities on to others
Fun Fact: In pokemon firered and leafgreen, there is a place called pattern bush. Its actually the microchip of RBY, and it is full of bug pokemon. So the game was full of bugs is what they are getting at. A neat joke for nerds

Let me explain this again.
I go into Pokemon gen 1 expecting a good game. I get garbage, and disappointment.
I go into Undertale expecting a good game. I get garbage and disappointment.
But I didn't go into Pokemon expecting a good game. I went into it expecting a broken mess. And for that, it was amazing!
If I had expected a good game, I would hate it. But I wasn't, and that changes everything. I got exactly what I wanted, and so much more, and I'm happy.
If Undertale had amazing, game breaking, memory corrupting bugs - ones that are impossible on Game Maker - I would love it as a broken mess as well. But all it has is that letter thing that lets you skip cutscene triggers.
It's like if I took my copy of "shit game here" and used it as a paperweight. Shit game, pretty good paperweight.
Love Live! is a perfectly enjoyable SoL anime. Season two was kinda meh, but season one was pretty good. Generic, sure, but good.

Let's see here.
Movement in an RPG is gridless, 8 directional. Collision is, once again, dependent on that.
In my Mario Party clone, movement will be automatic, moving whatever number you roll automatically on the path you're on, unless you come to a junction, at which point you pick a direction (go look up Mario Party 1-8 gameplay and see if you don't get it.) There is no correlation. Nothing to carry over. The two are night and day.

Program to make games.
Kinda simplified the coding aspect, and gets a lot of the annoying things out of the way like graphics rendering and such.
AND IT'S BETTER THAN UNITY. UNITY IS BLOATED FOR 2D, AS IT RENDERS ALL THE 3D SHIT, JUST ON A FLAT PLANE, AND EVEN AT THAT, IT LOADS SO MANY BLOATED MODULES THAT EVERYONE ON AGGY DAGGY HATES IT
Unreal is way better for it, and it's not Java-tier like Unity is.
And it's fine, Poppers, I don't mind.
I have a name tho.
>>34623
Once again, I suppose it depends on what you expect. I expected a popcorn movie-tier SoL anime with some catchy songs and that's exactly what I fucking got. Great background entertainment.
It's why I dislike Serial Experiments Lain. I was promised that it'd be life-shatteringly-deep and shit, and all it was was a girl staring at nothing with a low buzz. You can argue about the semiotics at play, but semiotics won't save your shitty, "2/3rds of my anime is dead air" animu.

That's what I saw in it. Again, expectations.
I expected Kirby Planet Robobot to be an average platformer, and I got one of the most fun games in five years, and one of the most amazing OSTs I've ever heard.
So I love it.
I expected a broken mess of a game out of Gen 1 Pokeymans, and the broken-ness went beyond my expectations, so I love it for that reason.
I expected ground breaking, life shattering metaphorical introspections and shit from Serial Experiments Lain, and I got what I described earlier. So I dislike it.
I expected Undertale to be a fun RPG, heavily inspired by Mother.
I got ten hours of inconsistent graphics, lol randumb writing and meta humor, which is essentially the game screaming "OH DID YOU WANT TO BE IMMERSED?! NOOOO I'M ONLY A GAME I'M ONLY A GAME!!!!"
So I dislike it.

Mario Party 3 is one of my favorite games ever.
It depends on what minigames I'll use. Even then, the movement would have to be reworked to account for the faster pace, and jumping would have to be implemented, and at that point, it's just as good to rewrite it completely. Collision would also have to be reworked to account for that.

It's easier, and better practice, to just make good, reusable systems the first time, and not have rewrite them from scratch.

Now obviously enough, for stuff like movies/games, scripts are a necessity. But this is because you are an ACTOR.
The only time I would justify the use of scripts for youtube are informative videos

As for the video series, I mentioned a couple times, it's gamedev stories. I mean, the idea to make such a series came from the fact that no one I know is interested in listening to my gamedev ramblings, so I thought I might post it on vidme, maybe find more people into the subject.

It's sort of VN-ish, I suppose, but plays like an RPG Maker-style game. You can explore the town, and talk to/ignore anyone you want to. Everyone has their own schedules, as do people IRL, and you have to "catch" them, in a way. Of course, the window is rarely small, people usually have long-lasting events or places where you can consistently catch them.
My old project had puzzle elements to it, but I realized that I couldn't design them for shift, so I abandoned it and created something more conversation-oriented.

Programming is very incremental. I usually set my eyes on a specific element, sit down and finish it, in usually an evening or two.
This is more arbitrary, more subjective.
>So you really enjoy the process of coming up with the lines and stuff when you're in the mood for it?
I have to force myself to work for it sometimes, but seeing the finished conversation makes me happy.
>how are you going about it differently than the norm in regards to that?
Rather than just having the goal of "make the most friends", you don't have a set goal. Treating everyone "poorly" is not really objectively worse than threating everyone "nicely".
Of course, both have their own outcomes, as being a dick will mean that society will eventually shun you.

Makes a lot of sense, how far along are you with the programming? I'd imagine so but that's good you at least enjoy the finished product! I'm unfamiliar with that genre what do you do as far as the gameplay goes, wander around to talk to people and develop relationships and if so how do you get to the end of the game? Really cool idea man! I love the idea of every choice you make being your own and not being bound by the thought that maybe I'll miss something important if I don't do it exactly right so you're free to play it willy nilly and enjoy yourself.

> how far along are you with the programming?
I got a lot of the "generic" stuff out of the way. I need to finish the conversation maps, and then the graphics, to implement all the citizens' schedules and stuff.
> I'm unfamiliar with that genre what do you do as far as the gameplay goes, wander around to talk to people and develop relationships and if so how do you get to the end of the game?
Well, most VNs, you get introduced to a ton of waifu bait and have to waifu one. Some give you a harem route too.
But Persona, and what I'm doing, is that you can choose to talk to whoever, whenever, or completely ignore them too if you want. Of course, they have their own schedules, like real people, that's why the game is short and repeated playthroughs are encouraged.
Well, you'll be missing things in general by making certain choices, obviously, but you won't miss anything "essential", as nothing really IS essential. Basically, after the opening cutscene and the first conversation with your mom in the hospital, everything is optional.

How close are you to finishing the conversation maps and is it difficult to get all the schedules in order? So far, I have 22 planned characters, and wanna have around 30-35 once I'm done.
Not very far along. I'm 3/4s done with one of them, though that one is probably the most difficult, or at least one of.
>So for your game you can do whatever you want in essence then, like you could just be a lonely NEET if you decided to?
Exactly.
There's a shitposting social link for that reason. There's also an arcade, and if you feel like it, you can explore the town and see all the stuff that ends up happening. Be an observer, if you will.
>Yeah that makes sense but there's no real "true ending" correct? The true ending would be whichever you desired or am I wrong?

Neato! Is that quite a lot of characters? And is there a possibility to form a relationship with each of them? Why is that one the most difficult is it hard to think of the dialogue for them? That's really cool man, sounds like a cool concept you're working on from what you've described, is it almost like harvest moon but without the farming and a bigger focus on the social aspect or am I way off? It's one of the only games I've played that sounds anywhere similar. Alien dogs eh, now that's an ending I can get behind, sign me up!

>Neato! Is that quite a lot of characters?
Persona usually has about 22 social links, and like 5 that auto advance, so about 17 characters to work for.
I wanna have double that, but two things.
1. Persona has dungeon exploration, I don't. Mine's exclusively about relationships.
2. Mine tend to be shorter. Every character in Persona has 10 conversations. Mine range from 4 to 8.
>And is there a possibility to form a relationship with each of them?
Like, loving/sexual? Not ALL of them, for reasons. But about half. And, of course, you CAN cheat if you so choose.
>Why is that one the most difficult is it hard to think of the dialogue for them?
It's the longest, and yeah, I'm trying to get it just the way I want it. Gotta get in the minds of people I do not comprehend.
>That's really cool man, sounds like a cool concept you're working on from what you've described, is it almost like harvest moon but without the farming and a bigger focus on the social aspect or am I way off?
Sorta, though I haven't played much of it. Yeah, Personas 3-5 are a bit closer, and a direct inspiration.
>Alien dogs eh, now that's an ending I can get behind, sign me up!

As I said, my biggest issue with 99% of rap is the shit, absolutely garbage instrumentals. It's, 99% of the time, a 4/4 signature generic beat, and one sample played perfectly on beat.
Besides, I hate most songs with "words". Out of my ~700 song playlist, only ~40, if not less, have lyrics, and even then, 10 are ELO songs and 10 are Shoji Meguro's work.

Well, I guess our contexts for WHEN we listen to music is different. Sure, Kirby music is an anti-depressant nowadays, and I listen to it whenever I post here, but really, I only listen to music when I go outside, and I only go outside to "take a break" anymore. Refresh myself, look around, see the sunset and look for inspiration. And think. Think a lot. Go over hundreds of potential, theoretical conversations in my mind, with people both real and theoretical. That's where most of Last Dawn comes from, and it's lyricless music that lets me think clearly with no distractions.
I can get music depending on the mood, yeah. I mentioned Kirby earlier for that reason. The whole soundtrack is either "let's go on a lighthearted adventure!", which of course cheers me up, or "you are facing the ultimate God of destruction, and he's going to kill everyone if you lose, but you WILL prevail", which, honestly, that's how I feel like most days, facing an undefeatable force.
The piano is my favorite instrument, and the most prominent in my work.
Embed related for some "weirder" stuff. The SID chip is a fucking masterpiece.

By auto advance do you mean they progress without you having to do anything, and are they extremely relevant to the story then? What is one conversation considered, like one meetup and all the dialogue that happens during that one scenario? What are some reasons you couldn't form a romantic relationship like straight or gay, or perhaps just not willing to love? That makes sense, its hard to understand the mind set of another especially someone radically different. Was the alien dogs thing a silent hill reference?

What are some reasons you couldn't form a romantic relationship like straight or gay, or perhaps just not willing to love?
Certain family members are unwilling, of course. One of them is nine years old. Other people, it simply would not make sense with their character.
A lot of people you can sleep with, I personally am not fond of the circumstances, but I try to stay "objective". But since I'm bi myself, there's no issue with same sex stuff.

Well, I'm not particularly fond of the example above. It mainly depends on the circumstances and the person you're sleeping with, that's what I find distasteful.

Yeah, of course not. Though there are more straight relationships, just as there would be IRL.

I've become accustomed to a certain amount of misfortune to befall my life at all times. I find a strange comfortability in being a loner now. Have felt this way for a while.
An example I love to use is the feeling of showing up uninvited to the party. Because I have literally done this before, many, many times. It never ends well. You end up feeling isolated among company.
At that point? I would MUCH rather stay home watching anime, or jerking off, playing vidya, etc. Spending time playing vidya with my little brother or something.
I truly feel connected to my family. I used to resent them, but I realized that they were there for me when no one else was
I also have a strong feeling that once I move out, Im gonna be on my own. The extent of my social interaction will be work, and maybe visiting my family here and there. I could also invite my brother that doesnt even live at the house anymore, thats a thought I've had
Thats really how I'd like it though. Leave me alone to my anime. Just leave me be if all you're gonna do is wish I weren't around. And, yeah, I said I showed up to parties uninvited. But people there gave me this fake bullshit saying they were glad I came.

My family's not "there" for me. They'd hate me if they knew what I was, and my mom hates me because in her eyes, I'm a failure for failing high school.
>I also have a strong feeling that once I move out, Im gonna be on my own. The extent of my social interaction will be work, and maybe visiting my family here and there. I could also invite my brother that doesnt even live at the house anymore, thats a thought I've had
I'll live with nii-chan, the only person willing to jump through the hoops I present to him to gain my trust, as he, of course, gets something out of it, unlike any of you. But I'll never see my family again.
>
Thats really how I'd like it though. Leave me alone to my anime. Just leave me be if all you're gonna do is wish I weren't around. And, yeah, I said I showed up to parties uninvited. But people there gave me this fake bullshit saying they were glad I came.
I get that a lot too. People saying that they're glad to have me around, that they don't hate me, that they want me to get better and wish the best for me, but I can feel the disdain in their voices. I'm a failure, as I'm not a normie.
>At most I would LOVE my own dog, but I dont think I'd be quite ready to support another life at that time
This, honestly. Nii-chan has a cat, though, so that might be something.

My little sister likes me, but she likes everyone. She's the type of innocent child that, when I say "me and exey broke up", she says "well, get back together!".
She's going to avoid even thinking of my existence when she grows older and starts going to school, which is in a few months, actually.

I only went to the parties to drown myself in liquor. And attempted to feel like I was part of something. Neither of those ever really helped. And I never felt like I was part of something

I never go to parties anymore, obviously. Only one person invited me to their grad party, and it wasn't even someone in my fucking class. I still felt pretty eh there as well.

I don't even feel like I'm a part of this world, honestly. I'm an observer. Like an alien, walking around, scared that people will see through my disguise.
We're technically gonna have a graduation party as well, but…
1. it involves people.
2. i'm not graduating.

>I'm an observer
kinda feel like that as well
I didnt even have a grad party, and I graduated on time. Its really nothing special at all. I didnt go to senior year prom either. Shit is over rated and expensive out the ass.
I did go to junior year prom though cause I was selected for… whats it called again? That thing where you are selected to be voted for as prom king. People loved to vote me in to shit like that. never won any of them I guess they did this as a joke, or they thought I had autism and wanted to make me feel good about myself
Thats pretty pessimistic of me, but I feel like that's what it was

We never had Prom, per se, we have different traditions here. But yeah, I did not belong, simple as that, and everyone knew it. They never acted hostile towards me, but they didn't even try to involve me anywhere, and that's good, I suppose.
I find myself observing the world a lot, honestly. Staring through the window, looking off the bridge nearby my house, or just watching the sunset with music playing. I'm, honestly, not a part of this world. I'm not a part of anything, really. And I never will be.

During one of my midnight walks, I wrote "do a flip, faggot" on it, knowing full well how possible it is that I will follow those same instructions one day.

I like to spend as much time as physically possible unconscious though I can't do it too often, been doing a ton of nitrous lately. That's a really cool way to do it, what's your characters predicament if you can reveal it? Is the story something along the lines of dark souls where a lot of the lore is detailed in item descriptions? Well sleeping with family members is a pretty interesting choice hahaha, if you dislike it why'd you decide to bring it into the game in the first place? Yeah being nice to people generally doesn't do anything positive for me but I'm gonna keep on trucking either way, one of the few things if not only, that makes me think I'm worth anything aha. Makes sense I hadn't thought about it like that, probably is pretty taxing having to write dark and gruesome stuff all day.
