WASHINGTON (AP) — Blood tests for the coronavirus could play a key role in deciding whether millions of Americans can safely return to work and school. But public health officials warn that the current “Wild West” of unregulated tests is creating confusion that could ultimately slow the path to recovery.
More than 70 companies have signed up to sell so-called antibody tests in recent weeks, according to U.S. regulators. Governments around the world hope that the rapid tests, which typically use a finger-prick of blood on a test strip, could soon ease public restrictions by identifying people who have previously had the virus and have developed some immunity to it.
But key questions remain: How accurate are the tests, how much protection is needed and how long will that protection last.
The blood tests are different from the nasal swab-based tests currently used to diagnose active COVID-19 infections. Instead, the tests look for blood proteins called antibodies, which the body produces days or weeks after fighting an infection. The same approach is used for HIV, hepatitis, Lyme disease, lupus and many other diseases.
Because of the relative simplicity of the technology, the Food and Drug Administration decided to waive initial review of the tests as part of its emergency response to the coronavirus outbreak.
Right now, the tests are most useful for researchers studying how the virus has spread through the U.S. population. The government said Friday it has started testing 10,000 volunteers. The White House has not outlined a broader plan for testing and how the results might be used.
With almost no FDA oversight of the tests, “It really has created a mess that’s going to take a while to clean up,” said Eric Blank of the Association for Public Health Laboratories. “In the meantime, you’ve got a lot of companies marketing a lot of stuff and nobody has any idea of how good it is.”
Members of Blank’s group, which represents state and local lab officials, have urged the FDA to revisit its lax approach toward the tests. That approach essentially allows companies to launch as long as they notify the agency and include disclaimers. Companies are supposed to state that their tests have not been FDA-approved and cannot rule out whether someone is currently infected."

US Forces Korea contractor tests positive for coronavirus
after weeks in quarantine

"SEOUL, South Korea - An American contractor who works at Camp Humphreys tested positive for coronavirus Sunday after more than two weeks in quarantine, the military said.
It was the 22nd case affiliated with U.S. Forces Korea since the pandemic took hold in South Korea in late February.
The military also announced Saturday that the wearing of face masks is mandatory in on-base shopping facilities, post offices and food courts, and is encouraged for people who cannot stay six feet apart in other public areas and workspaces.
People affiliated with USFK also were encouraged to wear masks when outside in local communities “as a courtesy and sign of solidarity” in the fight against the virus.
The contractor had not visited Camp Humphreys since March 26 and had been directed by supervisors to self-quarantine since March 30 because he had been in direct contact with another person who tested positive, USFK said.
It didn’t give more details. However, that was the week that two other contractors and an American soldier who worked at Eighth Army headquarters tested positive, prompting the garrison to further restrict access and order most service members and others to shelter in place except for essential activities."

UK Spy Agencies Predict More Assertive China Post-Coronavirus – Reports
Successfully coping with the COVID-19 outbreak in recent months, Beijing set about restarting its massive economy a month ago. The rest of the world, meanwhile, remains on lockdown with economies virtually shut down, and hasn’t even begun to play catchup.
Britain’s domestic counterintelligence agency MI5 and its foreign intelligence cousin MI6 want London to reassess its relationship with China once the coronavirus crisis is over, and to consider methods to reduce Chinese access to the country’s high tech industries and education, the Guardian has reported, citing a source in Whitehall said to be familiar with discussions on the matter.
Specifically, the agencies wants No 10 to consider ways to restrict China’s ability to buy up UK high-tech firms, reduce Chinese students’ access to research at the country’s universities, and take other, similar measures.
According to the newspaper, MI5 and MI6 also fear that China may become “more assertive” in defending its political and economic model once the pandemic is over.

Amidst an unprecedented attempt to shirk blame for the mishandling of the coronavirus pandemic, the World Health Organization (WHO) has now also begun to attempt to rewrite history. The organization, founded 72 years ago, has omitted key information from its own coronavirus timeline, ostensibly in an attempt to make it look better after accusations of WHO figures aiding China. On January 14th, the WHO is known to have parroted the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) line that there was “no clear evidence of human-to-human transmission” of the COVID-19 coronavirus. But the entity’s own “timeline” of the event leaves said error out.
Instead, the WHO skips right from January 10th, when they issued an “advisory” on the coronavirus, to Jan 22nd, when members of the Emergency Committee said the event did not constitute a Public Health Emergency of International Concern. This embarrassing misstep was corrected over a week later, after WHO Director-General Dr. Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus came under increasing pressure to end his pro-China campaign.
Now the Global Times newspaper – one of the propaganda outlets of the Chinese Communist Party – is doubling down on the WHO’s omissions, providing the graphic above which conveniently leaves off one of the most damning events of the coronavirus saga to date. The paper lends pages to defending the WHO, claiming “the Trump administration failed to listen to the advice of the WHO”. Indeed following the advice of the WHO would have landed the United States in further peril.
In 2014 the World Health Organization issued guidance that actively discouraged travel bans upon the onset of a virus. “In 2009,” the WHO claimed, “a systematic review of studies based on such models revealed limited evidence of the effectiveness of restrictions in air travel – within and between countries – in the containment of pandemic influenza”. In other words, the WHO wanted to risk American lives to keep the country’s borders open, and keep potential infected Chinese nationals traveling into the United States. The latest from the WHO and China comes as President Trump ratchets up pressure, insisting the United States will cut funding from the WHO following its gargantuan failure to protect lives during the coronavirus pandemic, instead spending more time on public relations for the Chinese Communist Party.

I understand why POTUS has to push some type of vaccine in addition to the cure. I just had an extended family ZOOM get together. The conversation drifted to the CCP virus, and EVERY FAMILY MEMBER (including TDS members, hard core conservative members, young adults trying to figure out life members) were singing Bill Gates praises and talking about all the different vaccines he was working on etc in the context that this is the ONLY way to heal this plague. If POTUS were to say, no, vaccines are not a good idea they ALL would freak. It is so engrained into the subconscious of the average TV watching person.
So although all day I am surrounded by my online compatriots of truth, we need to remember that we are the minority in general, and the rest are going to need to be coaxed ahead very gently or their entire minds could literally crack.
I can only hope that the vaccines that my family are so eager to inject themselves with are made safe by POTUS team and not the poisons we know can be deadly.

Recent findings regarding the origin of COVID-19 continue to support our January reporting that the disease may have originated from the Wuhan Institute of Virology - which was experimenting with bat coronavirus found to be 96% genetically identical to COVID-19.
On Saturday, the Daily Mail added an important piece to the puzzle; the institute was experimenting on mammals captured over 1,000 miles away in Yunnan - which is particularly notable because genetic analysis of COVID-19's genome has traced it to horseshoe bats found in Yunnan's caves
Also disturbing is that the lab had been operating in part on a $3.7 million grant from the US government.
The Mail on Sunday has learned that scientists there experimented on bats as part of a project funded by the US National Institutes of Health, which continues to licence the Wuhan laboratory to receive American money for experiments.
Results of the research were published in November 2017 under the heading: 'Discovery of a rich gene pool of bat SARS-related coronaviruses provides new insights into the origin of SARS coronavirus.'
The exercise was summarised as: 'Bats in a cave in Yunnan, China were captured and sampled for coronaviruses used for lab experiments. All sampling procedures were performed by veterinarians with approval from the Animal Ethics Committee of the Wuhan Institute of Virology.' -Daily Mail
"Bat samplings were conducted ten times from April 2011 to October 2015 at different seasons in their natural habitat at a single location (cave) in Kunming, Yunnan Province, China. Bats were trapped and faecal swab samples were collected," the paper continues.

We’re compelled to imagine an America that is being rent apart both by a deadly virus and by a corrupt administration more interested in securing its authority, privilege and power that in healing and calming a traumatized nation.
Recently, Jared Kushner patted himself, and his father-in-law, on the back by paraphrasing one of Donald Trump’s favorite tropes: “We’ve done things that the federal government has never done before, quicker than they’ve ever done it before.”
That, ironically, may be true. In fewer than four years an American president has – through a historically unmatched combination of ignorance, hubris and racism – expanded wealth inequity to previously unknown levels, put hundreds of thousands of Americans at death’s door, put millions in unemployment queues and food lines, marginalized minorities and communities of color and, joint by joint, chipped away at the mortar that for over 200 years has bound us as a democratic republic, a diverse peoples, as a nation of the people, for the people – where all are created equal.
Ironically, Kushner’s callous, self-congratulatory comment was delivered a day after President Trump informed the nation that perhaps between 100,000 to 240,000 Americans could soon die from the pandemic, a pandemic that is disproportionately killing Americans from within our most vulnerable and least served communities in America – communities of color.
Imagine – tens, perhaps hundreds of thousands of dead Americans – brothers, sisters, strangers, sojourners, loved ones. While predictive models continue to be revised downward as new data is calculated, any level approaching such a scale is unacceptable.
Imagine considering that tens of thousands of Americans might die in this, the first iteration of a pandemic that may well persist beyond spring, a possibility that arises not as an act of God, not as a force majeure, not as a Black Swan event but out of malign ignorance and insatiable greed for power and profit.
That arises, in part, because America has permitted the empowerment of an intolerant, primarily anti-science, anti-facts, anti-Enlightenment, white nationalist movement that has attached itself to Donald Trump and the Republican Party in much the same way that ISIS and the Taliban have risen to power in the Middle East – through the corrupt alignment of fundamentalist religious and political interests in pursuit of power.
In 1945 Karl Popper wrote that: “Unlimited tolerance must lead to the disappearance of tolerance. If we extend unlimited tolerance even to those who are intolerant, if we are not prepared to defend a tolerant society against the onslaught of the intolerant, then the tolerant will be destroyed, and tolerance with them.”
That remains true today. For nearly four years too many Americans have blindly tolerated the intolerant because they were promised the ineffable, a fulfillment of dreams that once believed were unrealizable – promised an America based on delusional beliefs that some peoples were more deserving and worthy than others.
And based on those delusions they tolerated the intolerable.
And this year, since January, Donald Trump and the Republicans – out of fear of losing their power and privilege in November, have weaponized their political interests rather than the interests of the nation.
Through their parochial prism – a prism where today only 40% of Americans have “a great deal of confidence” in the scientific community – the pandemic is a chimera, a hoax, a flu that warm weather would dissipate – not a health threat to the nation that threatened its social, economic and political interests.
“It’s going to disappear,” Trump said. “One day, it’s like a miracle, it will disappear.”
It hasn’t disappeared and daily we’re forced to bear witness to what the lies, falsehoods, and manipulations – and, most grievously, lack of testing – have wrought.

Q photos with hash file names
The file names in Q photo attachments are 64 character hexidecimal hashes. For the most part, they cannot be decrypted/decoded back to clear text, but they are used as a proof such that the hash value of a clear text, like a name or perhaps even a future tweet (twat) from POTUS could be hashed and compared against the hash that Q provided us in the photos. A match would be a proof of foreknowledge (future proves past). I've been trying to hash POTUS twats, phrases, and names to try to find a match, to no avail. I'm hoping that given this knowledge to anons at large, we can find a match and thus provide a proof. The hash being used is SHA256. There are many simple SHA256 hash generators online. Simply go to one, enter the clear text and compare the hash value. Hashes are sensitive to case. Also, even a slight change to clear text will drastically change the hash value. So makes sure to check all possibilities.
Anyway, this is just a hunch, but I can't see any other reason that Q would name photos with hash values. Thoughts?

After four days of marathon talks, major global oil producers have finally inked an agreement to slash oil output by 10 million barrels per day, in a bid to boost the energy market amid the coronavirus pandemic.
The members of the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries and other oil-producing states outside of the cartel reached the agreement on Sunday evening.
"We now announce the completion of the historic agreement to reduce production by approximately 10 million barrels of oil per day from members of "OPEC +" starting from May 1, 2020," Kuwaiti Oil Minister Khaled al-Fadhel announced on Twitter. Shortly afterwards, the bloc confirmed the news.
The cut will protect oil producers from falling prices, triggered both by de-facto OPEC head Saudi Arabia flooding global markets with oil, and by falling demand amid the coronavirus pandemic.
OPEC and its allies had been trying to hammer out an accord since Thursday. While the first round of the virtual talks resulted in an agreement on the biggest supply cuts in history – 10 million barrels per day (bpd) amounting to around 10 percent of global supply – they ended without a resolution due to a disagreement with Mexico.
Mexico City refused to slash production by 400,000 bpd as asked and abruptly abandoned Thursday’s emergency meeting. One day later, Mexican President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador came up with a plan of his own, saying his country would reduce production four times less than the cartel demanded, while an additional 250,000 would be compensated by the US.

Testing at a hospital in Chicago found that 30-50% of patients who have been tested for COVID-19 have antibodies in their system, which means they likely already had the virus and are immune, at least for an unknown period of time.
“A phlebotomist working at Roseland Community Hospital said Thursday that 30% to 50% of patients tested for the coronavirus have antibodies while only around 10% to 20% of those tested have the active virus,” Chicago City Wire reported on Thursday.
Sumaya Owaynat, a phlebotomy technician, said she tests between 400 and 600 patients on an average day in the parking lot at Roseland Community Hospital. Drive-thru testing is from 9 a.m. to noon and 1 to 4 p.m. each day. However, the hospital has a limited number of tests they can give per day.
Owaynat said the number of patients coming through the testing center who appear to have already had coronavirus and gotten over it is far greater than those who currently have the disease.
“A lot of people have high antibodies, which means they had the coronavirus but they don’t have it anymore and their bodies built the antibodies,” Owaynat told Chicago City Wire.
More than 500,000 Americans have tested positive for COVID-19, and more than 20,000 have died. According to one model, the number of deaths per day peaked on Friday and will begin to fall.
A key to re-opening the U.S. economy will be testing to find out who already has had the virus (some reports say up to 50% of those who have contracted SARS-CoV-2 show no symptoms). Those with antibodies can return to work as they’ll be immune to the virus.
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has already begun preliminary studies to try to find out who is carrying antibodies.

Q photos with hash file names
The file names in Q photo attachments are 64 character hexidecimal hashes. For the most part, they cannot be decrypted/decoded back to clear text, but they are used as a proof such that the hash value of a clear text, like a name or perhaps even a future tweet (twat) from POTUS could be hashed and compared against the hash that Q provided us in the photos. A match would be a proof of foreknowledge (future proves past). I've been trying to hash POTUS twats, phrases, and names to try to find a match, to no avail. I'm hoping that given this knowledge to anons at large, we can find a match and thus provide a proof. The hash being used is SHA256. There are many simple SHA256 hash generators online. Simply go to one, enter the clear text and compare the hash value. Hashes are sensitive to case. Also, even a slight change to clear text will drastically change the hash value. So makes sure to check all possibilities.
For instance, the hash value for "HAPPY EASTER!" (without quotes) is 2f0e868447d61dc54fee2549ba9df8168c779a19fe898d504bbbb2f553ff520a
Anyway, this is just a hunch, but I can't see any other reason that Q would name photos with hash values. Thoughts?

A 23-year-old soldier who was honored by President Donald Trump for his heroic actions during the El Paso Walmart mass murder last August was found dead this week.
Army Pfc. Glendon Oakley Jr. was heralded as a hero, and the United States Army awarded him the Army Commendation Medal for his actions during a mass murder on Aug. 3, 2019, in Texas.
The Fort Bliss soldier was credited with saving children as gunfire erupted at a Walmart in El Paso. Oakley was shopping at the Foot Locker in the Cielo Vista Mall, across from the Walmart. Once he heard the gunfire, Oakley Jr. drew his weapon and ran outside of the store. He allegedly saw children running and screaming, so he herded the children to safety.
"It was a whole bunch of kids in there," Oakley said after the tragedy. "I hope nothing happened to the kids. I tried to pick up as many as I could and bring them out with me."
"I pulled my gun out," Oakley continued. "When I hear gunshots I just think … take cover, save whoever you can."
The mass killing resulted in 22 deaths and 24 people injured.
On Wednesday, Oakley was found dead in his quarters at Fort Bliss, an Army base in El Paso. On Friday, Fort Bliss officials confirmed Oakley's death, but they did not provide many details.
"At this point in the investigation, foul play in not suspected," post officials said in a statement. "No further information will be released at this time to protect the integrity of the investigative process."
Oakley's death is under investigation by the U.S. Army Criminal Investigation Command.
Oakley would later meet President Trump, who said, "What a job he did. You'll be a movie star, the way you look."
Two months after the incident, Oakley was arrested on a deserter warrant for going absent without leave. "Pfc. Oakley was absent without leave and was apprehended pursuant to a military administrative warrant," Army Master Sgt. Vin Stevens said in a statement. "Pfc. Oakley is in police custody pending return to Ft Bliss where the chain of command is prepared to receive the Soldier and address the issue according to applicable laws, regulation, and the Uniform Code of Military Justice."

Bad Apple? 4 Cops in 1 Dept. Accused of Drugging, Raping at Least 7 Women
St. Louis, MO — The number of women who accuse four St. Louis police officers of raping them currently stands at seven. Three of the women are police officers themselves. All seven are now seeking justice against the cops they say raped them.
Allegations of rape by the cops go back a decade. After the women came forward the St. Louis Police Department placed four officers on administrative duty. They will all be receiving their salaries as the investigation progresses. According to KSDK News, at least one of the cops allegedly drugged and raped his fellow coworkers:
So far, multiple victims have come forward with accusations against the officers, including allegations that some of them were drugged and then raped, according to documents obtained by 5 On Your Side. One of the officers is accused of sexually assaulting six women – four of them were police department employees, including civilians and officers, according to the documents.
Unfortunately, the identities of the officers is being protected by the department while the allegations are being investigated — supposedly. But much is known about the allegations which we at TFTP will now summarize for our readers.
The first female officer said she was raped by a St. Louis PD officer on January 17th. She reported the crime to internal affairs claiming the alleged rapist cop had his way with her in the back of his truck outside Mimi’s Subway Bar & Grill in Ferguson at about 1:30 a.m. The St. Louis County Police Department has been conducting the criminal investigation while the St. Louis County Prosecuting Attorney, Wesley Bell, reportedly is gathering all the available information on the alleged rape.
A former police department employee (civilian or officer status unknown) reported to police she had been raped some time between 6 and 8 pm on the 15th of December 2019. No further information is known at this time about her allegation. The same officer was accused twice of rape in 2010 (once by a fellow female officer) and again in 2012 but was somehow allowed to keep his position within the police department. To be clear, the St. Louis police officer is accused of raping four women over a 10-year period. He can only be characterized as an alleged serial rapist at this point, if the allegations are true, allowed to keep his job presumably because of his badge. KSDK described the 2012 incident:
[The victim] said this officer sexually assaulted her while she was unconscious inside her West End neighborhood apartment. In that case, the victim told police she confronted the officer about his actions, but that he left her apartment without explaining himself. She reported her case to police in 2012 and to Internal Affairs four days after it happened.
Not to be the only cop raping women all by himself, the officer we just described is also accused of raping another woman in 2010 alongside a fellow male officer in gang-rape fashion inside his own home. That alleged rape was also reported to Internal Affairs but just like the other four women he is accused of raping, nothing happened to either officer. Neither one was criminally charged and their rape complaints were sealed.

Former Vice President Joe Biden laid out his plan on Sunday for reopening the country in an op-ed for the New York Times in which he argued that beating “the virus is the ultimate answer to how we get our economy back on track,” while bashing the Trump administration’s initial, sluggish response to the coronavirus outbreak.
Biden, who last week became the presumptive 2020 Democratic presidential nominee after Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders dropped out of the race, argued in his piece that the public health crisis and the economic crisis are the same and slammed the Trump administration for failing to speedily respond to the crisis.
"As we prepare to reopen America, we have to remember what this crisis has taught us: The administration’s failure to plan, to prepare, to honestly assess and communicate the threat to the nation led to catastrophic results," Biden wrote. "We cannot repeat those mistakes."
Biden argued for the need to keep up social distancing guidelines until the U.S. sees a dramatic decrease in the number of new COVID-19 cases. He added that hospitals and health care workers need to be prepared with the proper supplies in case the virus reemerges later this year or sometime in the future before a vaccine is available.
The former vice president said that the only way to safely reopen businesses across the country is to establish widespread testing and contact tracing programs that protect individual privacy, while also echoing many governors’ calls to Trump to more freely use the Defense Production Act to speed up the fabrication of ventilators and personal protective equipment.
Biden noted that a recent Department of Health and Human Services report on testing for this virus “made clear” that the country is far from achieving the goal of being able to rapidly and widely test for the contagion.
“We should be running multiple times the number of diagnostic tests we’re performing right now. And we should be ready to scale up a second form of testing: rapid serology tests to tell who has already been infected with the coronavirus and has antibodies,” Biden wrote.
“This isn’t rocket science; it’s about investment and execution. We are now several months into this crisis, and still this administration has not squarely faced up to the “original sin” in its failed response — the failure to test.”
Biden’s plan comes just two days after President Trump announced that he was forming a second coronavirus task force to explore ways to, at least partly, reopen the economy. Since the start of the outbreak in the U.S. and the implementation of social distancing guidelines, the economy has gone into a tail slide and more 16 million Americans have lost their jobs.
Biden argued that separating the response to the virus and the economy is not the way to tackle either crisis.
“Make no mistake: An effective plan to beat the virus is the ultimate answer to how we get our economy back on track,” he wrote. “So we should stop thinking of the health and economic responses as separate. They are not.”

As the US scrambles to ramp up both testing capacity and the speed at which results are delivered, one courier in New England was perhaps taking this directive a little too seriously when he crashed on Interstate I-195 in Seekonk, Mass, near the Rhode Island border on Tuesday morning. However, in some long overdue good news, none of the test samples inside the car were damaged, according to CBSN Boston.
Massachusetts State Police sent a hazardous materials team to examine the samples and the team determined that they "were not compromised" and the container holding them was intact.
The courier, who was driving a Honda Civic, bumped into a tractor-trailer on the westbound side of 1-95 at Exit 1 around 7:50 am. The contact caused the Honda to spin out and hit an ambulance carrying a 70-year-old patient. Fortunately, no one was hurt.
“Initial observations of a liquid spill led first responders to suspect the samples may have spilled and a state hazardous materials response team responded to the scene,” State Police spokesman Dave Procopio said in a statement.
“Further investigation by the hazmat team revealed that the spilled liquid was the Honda driver’s coffee, and that the container holding the samples was intact and undamaged, as were the samples inside.”
The driver, a 49-year-old woman from Rhode Island, was taken to the hospital as a precaution for potential exposure to the virus.
Another courier was called and ended up delivering the samples to their destination.
It wasn't immediately clear if there is now an Uber Delivery service for coronaviruses (although we are confident a lightbulb is going off above the head of some cash strapped San Fran VC) or why couriers carrying biohazardous equipment are taking leisurely strolls in Honda Civics. Then again, imagine if the woman was driving a Tesla…

Flagship Chinese telecommunications giant Huawei is offering global telemedicine services to counter the coronavirus pandemic, but U.S. analysts suspect the public health applications will extend China’s high-tech surveillance state overseas. “These things sound so wonderful that it's almost easy to forget how dangerous they are,” a senior U.S. official told the Washington Examiner. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo has discouraged allies around the world from partnering with Huawei to build their cutting edge telecommunications networks, arguing that Beijing’s spy services will exploit the next generation wireless technology. Now, Huawei is attempting to follow the coronavirus into countries where public health officials are struggling to identify new cases and provide health care — with ominous implications for intelligence and national security. “Huawei is an extension of the Chinese state,” the Heritage Foundation’s Klon Kitchen, an expert in the national security and economic implications of technology policy, told the Washington Examiner. "Beijing and Huawei are demonstrating the agility and the ability to kind of take advantage of the moment, and they're continually trying to integrate themselves further and further into host nation infrastructure and services.”
Huawei officials have made no secret of their hope that they see their pandemic response as a potential tool to counter U.S. pressure. “The U.S. will continue to increase sanctions on us, and we will have to complete [the new technologies] before that happens,” Huawei founder Ren Zhengfei said during a recent interview with the South China Morning Post. “Even when the West is feeling the mounting impact of the coronavirus, most of our projects can actually enhance their capabilities." The company says it has launched a platform to “use innovative technologies such as cloud and AI to fight the pandemic,” including diagnostic services such as “AI-assisted CT scan analysis.” Huawei has offered “remote temperature monitoring” services to India, one of the world’s largest economies and most important U.S. partners in the Indo-Pacific region. “5G remote imaging diagnosis platforms for collaboration and 5G medical robots were also used to help care for quarantined patient,” Huawei India told local media. “The success of 5G applications in the public health domain could also inspire businesses in other sectors to leverage 5G's popularity and explore new applications of the technology.”
That candid marketing strategy, paired with the need to identify and isolate patients infected with the coronavirus as quickly as possible, might induce some health policy officials to import the same kinds of technology that Chinese telecommunications giants have provided to dictators in need of modern surveillance programs. “The same types of things that they use in networked health systems, software, and hardware are also applicable in other things,” a senior U.S. official told the Washington Examiner. “It's connectivity plus AI to make usable intelligence about that that you can exploit. So telemedicine becomes a huge dimension of that, of getting all the feeds and things and being able to make diagnoses or other things that give you intel about the person.” U.S. officials warn that all data provided to Huawei is available to Chinese intelligence analysts. “That information is going to be made available, by law, to the Chinese government, and therefore it is surveillance,” Kitchen emphasized.
The data collection needed to fight the novel coronavirus could be an intelligence officer’s nightmare if the information passes over Huawei systems, according to a former member of President Trump’s national security team. “This contact tracing? Contact tracing is really about listing out who you've been in contact with,” the Hudson Institute’s Rob Spalding, a retired Air Force general, told the Washington Examiner. “So if you're building a dossier on somebody, if you’re doing contact tracing, you know everybody they have a relationship with.” If Huawei can help public health officials with contact tracing, it could help Chinese spy agencies figure out, for instance, which government officials are spending the night with women who aren’t their wives. “The limits are only your own imagination,” the senior U.S. official said.

"Recent findings regarding the origin of COVID-19 continue to support our January reporting that the disease may have originated from the Wuhan Institute of Virology - which was experimenting with bat coronavirus found to be 96% genetically identical to COVID-19.
On Saturday, the Daily Mail added an important piece to the puzzle; the institute was experimenting on mammals captured over 1,000 miles away in Yunnan - which is particularly notable because genetic analysis of COVID-19's genome has traced it to horseshoe bats found in Yunnan's caves.
Also disturbing is that the lab had been operating in part on a $3.7 million grant from the US government.
The Mail on Sunday has learned that scientists there experimented on bats as part of a project funded by the US National Institutes of Health, which continues to licence the Wuhan laboratory to receive American money for experiments.
Results of the research were published in November 2017 under the heading: 'Discovery of a rich gene pool of bat SARS-related coronaviruses provides new insights into the origin of SARS coronavirus.'
The exercise was summarised as: 'Bats in a cave in Yunnan, China were captured and sampled for coronaviruses used for lab experiments. All sampling procedures were performed by veterinarians with approval from the Animal Ethics Committee of the Wuhan Institute of Virology.' -Daily Mail

Sunday on MSNBC’s “AM Joy,” House Intelligence Committee chairman Rep. Adam Schiff (D-CA) said he would investigate what warnings from the intelligence community and health organizations that President Donald Trump ignored in the early stages of the coronavirus pandemic.
On “real-time oversight,” Schiff said, “We are right now going through our intelligence holdings. What did the intelligence community make us aware of at the end of last year or earlier this year? Other committees are doing like analyses.”
He continued, “It is very important, I think, in reviewing the intelligence component to this to realize the intelligence piece is just one piece of the warnings coming to the administration. A lot of those warnings were in the public domain. They came from public health organizations, like WHO or CDC or his own National Security Council, and ignored those warnings.”
He added, “We are diving deeply into what does the intelligence community know, what resources we would bring there, and what do we need to do prospectively to better protect the country in the future. That last piece, how do we protect the country in the future, is really the mission of that independent commission we based on, we used the model the 9/11 commission.”

Japanese health care facilities stretched thin, doctors say

"TOKYO-Japanese health care facilities are getting stretched thin amid a surge in coronavirus patients.
The Japanese Association for Acute Medicine and the Japanese Society for Emergency Medicine, representing such professionals, have issued a joint statement warning about a “collapse of emergency medicine,” which may lead to the collapse of medicine overall.
The statement said many hospitals were turning away people rushed by ambulance, including those suffering strokes, heart attacks and external injuries. Some people who were turned away later turned out to have the coronavirus.
Masks and surgical gowns were running short, the statement said.
Japan has nearly 7,000 coronavirus cases and about 105 deaths, but the numbers are growing. The government has declared a state of emergency, asking people to stay home."

Greek authorities think Erdoğan regime plans to push virus-infected migrants to EU
The Hellenic Armed Forces, Coast Guard, and Police are on high alert after government officials received intel that Turkish regime leader Recep Tayyip Erdoğan is planning a “sea Evros” as thousands of migrants gather in towns and cities along Turkey’s Aegean coastline.
According to a report from Greek newspaper Kathimerini which cites “sources that cannot be named but which are considered reliable”, the Erdoğan regime is planning to push virus-infected migrants to Greece and other EU member states.
The same sources also say that thousands of migrants, many of whom were present at last month’s border crisis at Kastanies and Pazarkule, have been moved from migrant camps in the interior of the Turkey to the country’s coastal regions. Turkish authorities are said to be overseeing the migrant’s movement toward the coastline.
The fact that the Hellenic Coast Guard has blocked 21 ships full of illegal immigrant in the past two weeks near the area of Lesbos and Agothonisi supports the information put forward by Kathimerini’s sources. Furthermore, the accumulation of migrants along the Turkish coastline also seems confirm that Erdogan is preparing swamp Greece’s eastern Aegean islands with migrants.
Authorities in Greece have also collected information which suggests various NGOs are also helping migrants in Turkey make their way illegally to Greece.
Earlier this month, Turkey threatened to send back migrants to the Greek border as soon as the global COVID-19 pandemic has ended, as Voice of Europe reported.
“When the coronavirus pandemic is over, we are not going to deter any immigrants who want to return to the Greek-Turkish border in Pazar,” Turkish Interior Minister Süleyman Soylu.
