The "special maritime and territorial jurisdiction of the United States" has been expanded to include any place outside the jurisdiction of any nation when the offense is committed by or against a national of the United States (see 18 U.S.C. § 7(7)). Among the offenses within the special maritime and territorial jurisdiction of the United States are the crimes of murder, manslaughter, maiming, kidnapping, rape, assault, and robbery. Pursuant to 18 U.S.C. § 7(1) there is also jurisdiction over such offenses when they are committed on the high seas or any other waters within the admiralty and maritime jurisdiction of the United States that is out of the jurisdiction of any particular state. New evidence suggests Ukraine played a key role in creating Trump-Russia collusion narrative at the behest of Obama officials

As Ukraine underwent dramatic changes in 2014, Vice President Joe Biden played a critical role in the Obama administration’s involvement in the revolution that ousted Ukrainian president Viktor Yanukovych.

Following the revolution, Biden would use his influence to help force the creation of the troubled National Anti-Corruption Bureau (NABU). Notably, during the 2016 elections information leaked from NABU on Trump’s campaign manager Paul Manafort that helped to create the false narrative that Trump colluded with Russia to win the elections.

Biden would also use the threat of withholding a billion dollars in American loan guarantees to pressure Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko to fire the prosecutor general. At the time the prosecutor had been investigating Burisma, a Ukrainian natural gas giant that Biden’s son, Hunter, was a board member on.

President Donald Trump’s personal lawyer, Rudy Giuliani, recently said “keep your eye on Ukraine.” In his comments to the Washington Examiner, Giuliani highlighted the “plot to create an investigation of President Trump based on a false charge of conspiracy with the Russians to affect the 2016 elections.”

The term “special maritime and territorial jurisdiction of the United States”, as used in this title, includes:

(1) The high seas, any other waters within the admiralty and maritime jurisdiction of the United States and out of the jurisdiction of any particular State, and any vessel belonging in whole or in part to the United States or any citizen thereof, or to any corporation created by or under the laws of the United States, or of any State, Territory, District, or possession thereof, when such vessel is within the admiralty and maritime jurisdiction of the United States and out of the jurisdiction of any particular State.

(2) Any vessel registered, licensed, or enrolled under the laws of the United States, and being on a voyage upon the waters of any of the Great Lakes, or any of the waters connecting them, or upon the Saint Lawrence River where the same constitutes the International Boundary Line.

(3) Any lands reserved or acquired for the use of the United States, and under the exclusive or concurrent jurisdiction thereof, or any place purchased or otherwise acquired by the United States by consent of the legislature of the State in which the same shall be, for the erection of a fort, magazine, arsenal, dockyard, or other needful building.

Strengthened Trump crippling Democratic Senate recruitment, 0-7 so far

President Trump, riding the surging economy to better approval ratings, is giving top-tier potential Democratic Senate candidates pause as they mull taking on Republican candidates with strong ties to the White House in 2020.

At least seven Democrats have refused to enter Senate races in states the party has invested in, a surprise since some of those states have been judged on the verge of turning liberal blue.

The United States pushed for Shokin’s removal and Biden led the effort by personally threatening to withhold $1 billion in loan guarantees. In an interview with the Atlantic, Biden recalled telling Poroshenko, “Petro, you’re not getting your billion dollars. It’s OK, you can keep the [prosecutor] general. Ukrainian prosecutors refused to provide the UK with needed documents and in January 2015 a British court ordered the assets unfrozen. Most likely it's concurrent jurisdiction. I'm in an area with lots of concurrent jurisdiction and a few exclusive federal jurisdictions. We would almost always handle criminal prosecutions in the concurrent ones. Not to say that NPS and the US Attorney's couldn't and/or wouldn't be able to…it's just they seemed to focus on the 'federal' crimes and let us handle the normal 'state' criminal statutes. Everybody has their niche.

All bets are off on a military installation with concurrent jurisdiction and that's a lot of what we had, so these discussions arose frequently, but amicably.
