He established a provisional government and began to issue coins in its name. This is what the Jewish people were looking for in a mashiach; Jesus clearly does not fit into this mold. Ultimately, however, the Roman Empire crushed his revolt and killed Bar Kokhba. After his death, all acknowledged that he was not the mashiach.
Throughout Jewish history, there have been many people who have claimed to be the mashiach, or whose followers have claimed that they were the mashiach: Shimeon Bar Kokhba, Shabbatai Tzvi, Jesus, and many others too numerous to name. Leo Rosten reports some very entertaining accounts under the entry for meshiekh in The New Joys of Yiddish. I go to sign in on the next available space, the third slot in a sticker. Because I am "that guy" for this, I don't have a pen. Taking one from the desk, I begin to write my name. The ink comes out as a fucking rainbow color. Well, that's what I get for not having a pen on me, I guess - so, I just keep writing. However, no matter how hard I try to focus, the letters just do not form. I try to one-line and repeat as we are taught in the military… And the whole thing still just looks like schizophrenic chicken-scratch. The other people all signed in in cursive, I noticed.
I move to just toss the sticker in the trash and get a new one - but then I realize there are two other names with it. I can't sign in for them or go interrupt their test over my error - so I leave it be.

Although courts-martial rules mostly discuss trial of US military, the rules also apply to "persons who by the law of war are subject to trial by military tribunals".

As a result of the knowledge of the sun and its location, and the location of the constellations, the cross of the zodiac was born, one of the oldest conceptual images in human history.
