Northern Ireland Secretary Hilary Benn has defended the government's defence spending plans after John Healey's resignation.
Speaking in Belfast, Benn says the defence investment plan "involves difficult decisions", but adds that he "would draw attention to the fact we have seen the biggest increase already in defence spending as a result of the decisions the PM has taken since the Cold War".
"We are living in dangerous and difficult times… the PM has my full support. We need stability and he's going to carry on doing his job in the way that he has," he says.

The next key date that matters and I want people to understand this. As someone that believes it is not safe to have a political party or vote now due to this going on. The next key date that will likely have a reaction when this is done is July 4 most do not understand this… this is not just a national holiday if the formal birth of the country but it is also 90 days from November the day you vote is usually November 4. It has been a long standing tradition that no political issues be discussed in some greater form. It is said that some times bi partisan legislation some times does better during this period actually in getting done.
This is something that is important and it is extremely important to note that these people do hold all the keys almost to eliminate these issues it is unlikely the DOJ or other forms of this are in the way. That is where it is natural on things like this. I believe this is not a formal law however only 30 days is a formal law actually this is because of legislation that is effected possibly is all.
That is where again this is important I expect this to end any day and I hope it does. There is no excuse for this to continue in any form now and this is where it is not just Judges but others that can do things to some point in areas at lest. I will keep this in mind when it finish again it is very unlikely that I will be talked out of things only a few maybe 3 I would entertain on subjects like this is all. There is me now counting how I will be treated why is this more it is 30 days before this important date that is more of a infomal agreement that is universally understood in government. So this is where I will be seeing the difference if it last this long.
To me there is no reason period that this should continue is all. I consider this the most dangerous part that bad actors may come out of the wood work at this time. That I do ask peoooe consider this and all I have been though and this is now turned into a waste of time and resources now. This is all I ask.
