IRGC vows Hormuz closure, regional strikes over threats to Iran’s nuclear facilities
We have reported throughout the day how Iranian officials have been warning the US against attacking Iran’s nuclear power plans following Trump’s threats to do so.
Now,the IRGChas also released a statement, sayingthat should the power plants be targeted. , the Strait of Hormuz will be “completely” closed and won’t be reopened until the facilities are rebuilt.==
It also said thatIsrael’s power plants, energy infrastructure, and information and communication technology will be “extensively targeted” and that similar companies in the regionwith American shareholders will be “completely destroyed”.
It added thatpower plants in countries in the region hosting US bases will be legitimate targets.
Turkish minister engages with Iran, Egypt, US and EU to mediate war: Report
A Turkish diplomatic source has told the Reuters news agency that Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan had discussed steps to end the war betweenIran, the US and Israel with counterparts from Iran and Egypt, as well as US officials and the EU.
The source said Fidan had held separate calls with Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi, Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty, European Union foreign policy chief Kaja Kallas, and US officials, without elaborating further.

Israel strikes Lebanon’s Qasmiyeh Bridge: Report
Lebanon’s National News Agency reports that an Israeli attack hastargeted southern Lebanon’s Qasmiyeh Bridge, after Israel’s military earlier warned it would strike it.
Footage shared by Israel’s Kann broadcaster appears to show a series of explosion simultaneously on and near the bridge, with a cloud of smoke rising up.
As we reported earlier,Qasmiyeh Bridge is a key route along the coastal highway, and itsdestruction would effectively cut off parts of southern Lebanon from the rest of the country.

Netanyahu faces questions over Israel’s air defences, war timeline

The Israeli prime minister has given remarks both in English and in Hebrew.
In Hebrew, he talked about the “miracle” that nobody died in Dimona and Arad, where over 180 people were injured in overnight Iranian missile attacks.He talked about the need for patience, saying that this battle will take as long as it takes. (Which is in Bibi talk that means forever!)
In English, he also talked about the need to destroy Iran. He adopted some of Trump’s more combative rhetoric regarding the rest of the world,saying that the US and Israel are fighting this battle on behalf of the world, protecting the world, and that other world leaders should join.
This is important for Netanyahu because he’sfaced a lot of questions about how much longer Israel’s air defences can provide protection, how much more time he needs for his proclamations to become a reality.
On day one, Netanyahu told the Israelis that Israel had considerably degraded Iran’s ability to fire missiles. But of course, we’ve seen an escalation in the firing of missiles, not a calming down, with more and more impacts.
