In Minneapolis alone, Antifa-BLM mobs damaged or destroyed over 1,500 businesses or buildings.

Antifa-BLM mobs were linked to conservatively 91% of the riots that resulted in the most expensive property damage in US insurance history.

But after today, violent Antifa leftists will no longer be able to roam free and terrorize American communities thanks to President Donald J. Trump.

A federal appeals court on Sept. 17 declined to lift a preliminary injunction blocking a plan by Health and Human Services (HHS) Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. to overhaul the department in line with the Trump administration’s policy priorities.

Attorneys general from 19 states and the District of Columbia filed a lawsuit in May challenging Kennedy’s restructuring of HHS, including layoffs and the reorganization of several agencies, arguing that the changes violate federal law and the U.S. Constitution.

On Wednesday, a three-judge panel of the Boston-based First U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals rejected the Trump administration’s claim that the states could not show they would be immediately harmed if the injunction were lifted pending an appeal. The panel noted that the lower court relied on hundreds of pages of testimony from state officials.

Any sale would represent the most dramatic change in ownership for the 182-year-old weekly since 2015, when British education publisher Pearson sold the majority of its 50% stake alongside its sale of The Financial Times. The magazine was founded in 1843 and has enjoyed Rothschild investment ever since.

However, overall readership has been in decline for at least a decade, which is the likely reason for the sale of shares by longtime benefactors. In 2015 The Economist maintained an audience of 1.6 million; that has fallen to 1.2 million in 2025, similar to reader numbers the outlet held in the early 2000s.

The day after Charlie Kirk’s assassination, Hayali glossed the story by conceding that “there is no justification for those groups celebrating [Kirk’s] death,” before deploring without any specific reference or citation “his often abhorrent, racist, sexist and misanthropic statements.” She proceeded to call Kirk a “radical religious conspiracy theorist” who nevertheless “struck a chord with many people,” given his large following and his “well-attended” events.

Later, Hayali appeared on a state media podcast, where she again with no evidence attacked Kirk as “too radical, too racist, misanthropic and misogynistic” and “simply inhumane.” She said that while “violence cannot be a solution,” “you don’t have to feel sympathy or pity” in connection to his violent death. Instead of offering condolences or regret for his murder, she advised that it would be better to “just shut up for a moment and perhaps not say anything at all.”

Member states are facing financial strain providing benefits to millions escaping the conflict

The EU will gradually wind down its temporary protection program for millions who fled the ongoing Ukraine conflict in order to encourage their eventual return home, the European Council has said.

Brussels invoked the Temporary Protection Directive in early 2022 after the Ukraine conflict escalated. First introduced in 2001, the directive provides benefits including residence permits, housing, jobs, education, healthcare, financial aid and social services.

Initially due to expire in March 2025, the scheme, which provides for over four million Ukrainians, has been extended until March 2027.

Discussions on exit strategies have been gaining momentum amid growing challenges for member states in managing the influx. This week, EU interior ministers agreed on a recommendation setting out a framework for Ukrainians’ “return and reintegration into Ukraine, when conditions allow.” Continue…

Prosecutors have claimed Calin Georgescu tried to incite violence after his election win was annulled

Prosecutors in Romania are taking former presidential candidate Calin Georgescu to court. He is accused of plotting a coup after his first-round election victory was annulled last year.

Georgescu, a former UN official, came out on top in the first round of the presidential vote in November 2024, after campaigning on national sovereignty, criticism of involvement in NATO and the EU and opposition to continued military aid for Ukraine.

However, his victory was canceled by the country’s Constitutional Court, citing “irregularities” in his campaign and alleged Russian interference – a claim Moscow has denied. Georgescu was banned from the race altogether, with the re-run of the election in May being won by pro-EU candidate, Nicusor Dan.

The materials will be submitted as part of a defamation lawsuit filed by the Macrons against US right-wing commentator Candace Owens, who has claimed that Brigitte Macron was born a man.

Tom Clare, who represents the Macrons in the case, told the BBC’s Fame Under Fire podcast on Thursday that they wish to disprove the allegations “both generically and specifically.” Owens’ claims regarding Brigitte Macron have been “incredibly upsetting” to the French president, Clare said.

Niagara Falls — once billed as Canada’s honeymoon capital — is looking more like a taxpayer-funded refugee camp. A response to an order paper question from Conservative MP Tony Baldinelli reveals 2,638 asylum seekers have been shipped into the tourist town since January 2024, housed in local hotels for months at a time while Ottawa racks up a $71,000 monthly food bill.

Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada admits the average stay ranges from 105 to 157 days depending on family size, despite a supposed “90-day limit” imposed earlier this year. That’s over three months in prime tourist hotels that would normally be booked by honeymooners and families.

Taxpayers are paying $99 per room, per night, plus $32.50 a day for meals and refreshments. In May alone, IRCC spent $71,395 just to feed the asylum seekers in Niagara Falls hotels. Multiply that across months and thousands of claimants, and the bill rockets into the millions.

Nearly four in 10 of the arrivals came from Nigeria, followed by Ethiopia, Sudan, and Uganda. Smaller groups trickled in from as far afield as Mexico, the Bahamas, and Papua New Guinea.

While the Liberals sent $282,000 to the Niagara Region to offset costs, no money was given to local charities or community groups dealing with the fallout, and there remains only one taxpayer: you.

Residents of the tourist town are left to watch as hotels fill up with asylum seekers while tourism dollars disappear.

According to the documents, transfers have now been paused, with the federal government pledging to wind down its Niagara Falls hotel operations by September 30, 2025.

Alberta is set to be the first Canadian province to include a citizenship marker on driver’s licenses and IDs in an effort to protect election integrity.

In a first for Canada, the province of Alberta will add mandatory Canadian citizenship status to all ID cards, including driver’s licenses, in an effort to combat voter fraud.

On Monday, Alberta Premier Danielle Smith announced the new initiative, saying it will “strengthen” the province’s “election system.”

“Alberta will be the first province to add a Canadian citizenship marker to driver’s licences and ID cards, strengthening Alberta’s election system and protecting the integrity of our democratic process by ensuring that only eligible citizens cast ballots,” wrote Smith on X.

Smith added that the new “change will also give Canadian citizens in Alberta a single, secure card to access programs and services more conveniently.”

In a more detailed press release about the new initiative, the government said that in the fall, it will introduce legislation to implement the addition of “Canadian citizenship status to Albertans’ driver’s licences or ID cards.”

“This change is part of a broader initiative to give Albertans a single, secure document that confirms both identity and Canadian citizenship. By combining identity and citizenship on one document, Albertans will no longer need to carry multiple pieces of ID to access services,” said the government.

Vigils were held around the United States following his death, as well as a few cities in Canada.

Police in Regina have arrested and charged two men with several offences, including attempted murder after an 11-year-old girl was shot in Saskatchewan’s capital city.

The charges are linked to an early morning incident on Aug. 11, Regina Police Service said in a press release.

Officers responded to a call from a home at approximately 2 a.m. in the 1000 block of Edgar Street where they found an 11-year-old girl who was suffering from a gunshot wound. The child was taken to hospital with serious injuries, police said.

Two men were arrested on Sept. 16 in connection with the incident, after weeks of investigation.

Anthony Nahbexie, 20, and Devon Nahbexie, 18, have been jointly charged with attempted murder, reckless discharge of a firearm, conspiracy to commit murder, unauthorized possession of a firearm in a motor vehicle, possession of a firearm knowing its possession is unauthorized, and possession of stolen property over $5,000.

Devon Nahbexie has also been charged with two counts of firearm contrary to prohibition order. Continue…

Toronto Police Launch Canada-Wide Manhunt in Homicide Case

A nationwide warrant has been issued by Toronto police for a city resident wanted for first-degree murder in the weekend shooting death of 43-year-old Paulin Harusha.

Toronto police responded to reports of a shooting in the Victoria Park Avenue and Sheppard Avenue E. area of Toronto just before midnight on Sept. 13, according to a Sept. 18 police news release.

Officers found a man inside a vehicle suffering from gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene despite life-saving measures, police said. The victim was later identified as Harusha.

Police said suspects were seen fleeing the scene in an SUV before officers arrived.

A warrant has since been issued for Meelad Tarin, 34, of Toronto, Det. Sgt. Alan Bartlett said in a Sept. 18 press conference.

“To Meelad Tarin, I have a message for you: seek counsel and turn yourself in,” Bartlett said. “If you know where Mr. Tarin is and are found to be harbouring or aiding him in any way, be assured we will investigate and lay charges as appropriate.” Continue…

Public Safety Minister Gary Anandasangaree says the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has refused to participate in the Liberal government’s gun buyback program.

“The OPP has indicated that they will not participate directly,” Anandasangaree told reporters ahead of a caucus meeting on Sept. 17. “As you know, they represent 26 percent of the overall policing in Ontario. This doesn’t mean that we can’t continue with the gun buyback program.”

Despite the OPP refusing to participate, the minister says he remains confident that the government will have a “robust” ability to collect guns in Ontario via collection facilities.

“More information will be forthcoming as we announce the program,” Anandasangaree said. “I’m very confident that we will have collection facilities available in Ontario.”

Although the OPP has said it won’t participate in collecting guns from Ontario residents as part of the buyback program, the minister says other police forces in Ontario have agreed to participate in the program.

“We will have police jurisdiction. Many of them are signed on, so I’m very confident that we will have a robust ability to collect guns in Ontario.” Continue…

The Liberal government is seeking $198,000 in damages from the company behind the ArriveCan app scandal, according to government records.

Conservative MP Larry Brock filed an Inquiry of Ministry in June to ask about the Canadian government’s lawsuits against GC Strategies, the company behind the ArriveCAN app that was used during the COVID-19 pandemic to obtain health information, such as vaccination status, from travellers entering and leaving Canada.

The ArriveCan app cost between $54 million to $59.5 million, with federal auditors being unable to determine the precise amount. The app became the subject of extensive news coverage and Parliamentary committee meetings due to controversies around the app’s cost and development.

On Sept. 15, a response was provided to the inquiry that said the federal government is seeking just under $200,000 in damages, as well as “pre-trial and post-judgement interest on damages claimed” and “other relief as the court deems just.” Continue…

B.C. provincial authorities say the province’s coast is not at risk after a 7.8 magnitude earthquake struck near Russia’s Kamchatka Peninsula around noon Pacific Time on Sept. 18.

The earthquake struck about 9.6 kilometres under the water, around 410 kilometres southwest of Bering Island, Russia, prompting tsunami warnings for Alaska’s Aleutian Islands and the Amchitka Pass from the U.S. National Weather Service.

In a Sept. 18 statement around 1 p.m. Pacific Time, B.C.’s emergency management office said, “The [U.S.] National Tsunami Warning Center has advised that no zones of coastal British Columbia are at risk from this event. Repeat, no zones of coastal British Columbia are at risk from this event.”

According to the U.S. Geological Service (USGS), the Sept. 18 earthquake was an aftershock of an 8.8 magnitude earthquake that occurred off the Kamchatka Peninsula on July 29 of this year, one of the eight strongest earthquakes since 1900. Continue…

Former Justice Minister David Lametti has been appointed Canada’s ambassador to the United Nations, the Prime Minister’s Office announced, while a number of former Trudeau cabinet members and current Liberal MPs are reportedly set to be appointed to diplomatic positions in the near future.

The PMO confirmed in a statement on Sept. 18 that former Justice Minister David Lametti has been appointed Canada’s ambassador to the United Nations. Lametti currently serves as principal secretary to Prime Minister Mark Carney.

The PMO also announced the same day that Vera Alexander will serve as Canada’s ambassador to Germany. Alexander most recently served as associate assistant deputy minister of people and talent management at Global Affairs Canada, focusing on improving human resources and Canada’s foreign service.

Ottawa is asking the Supreme Court of Canada to set limits on the manner in which provincial governments can use a controversial clause in the Charter of Rights and Freedoms.

Section 33 of the Charter, known as the Notwithstanding clause, permits provincial governments to override specific provisions of the Charter by enacting a law, which simultaneously prevents judicial review of the legislation in question for five years.

Federal Justice Minister and Attorney General Sean Fraser announced on Sept. 18 that he filed a factum with the Supreme Court outlining the government’s “position on constitutional issues raised” by the usage of the clause. Fraser said the case is about more than the immediate issues before the court and will determine how federal and provincial governments use the clause “for years to come.”

Ottawa’s submission to the Supreme Court said the court should set limits on when the notwithstanding clause can be invoked, arguing its repeated usage amounts to “indirectly amending the Constitution” and that it’s the equivalent of “ denying its very existence.” Continue…

Former Transport Minister Chrystia Freeland will again appear before a parliamentary committee following a unanimous vote by its members, after new emails appear to reveal her department was aware weeks in advance that BC Ferries intended to use a $1 billion loan from the Canada Infrastructure Bank (CIB) to help purchase four vessels from a Chinese state-owned shipyard.

Emails reportedly exchanged in late April between BC Ferries president Nicolas Jimenez and Transport Canada deputy minister Arun Thangaraj detailed BC Ferries’ plans to contract a Chinese shipyard to build four new ferries, according to internal documents obtained by The Globe and Mail.

Freeland, who was transport minister at the time, had said she was “dismayed” and taken by surprise when BC Ferries announced its procurement plan in June. The emails suggest her department had known about the plan since at least April.

The emails reportedly include a June 22 email from Jimenez to Thangaraj which expresses frustration about Freeland claiming she didn’t know about the deal in her public comments despite having been warned a month-and-a-half earlier. Continue…

Ontario carjacking victim stabbed in neck during Facebook Marketplace test drive: police

Toronto-area police arrested two men and charged them with attempted murder in relation to a violent carjacking in Brampton earlier this year that sent the victim to hospital with a stab wound in his neck.

According to Peel Regional Police, on May 10, a man who had posted his Dodge Challenger for sale on Facebook Marketplace was on a test drive with the two suspects when one of them “produced an edged weapon.”

The pair of men from Windsor, 22 and 20 years old respectively, threatened the vehicle’s owner with violence and then stabbed him in the throat when he refused to get out of his car.

After the suspects fled the vehicle, the victim was found and taken to hospital to be treated for serious injuries. The car was found the following day in Windsor.

Peel Regional Police said Windsor Police Service aided in their investigation that led to the arrests on Sept. 11.

In addition to attempted murder, the pair are also charged with robbery and aggravated assault. They’re being held for a bail hearing. Continue…

They arrested Gezim Topalli Tuesday at his Halifax home. He’s slated to appear in Halifax provincial court Wednesday on three counts of mischief related to religious property, three counts of property damage and public incitement of hatred.
