Marquette Poll: Supreme Court Approval Above 50 Percent

The approval rating of the Supreme Court rose above 50% for the first time since March 2022, according to a new Marquette Law School poll.
The poll released Thursday found that 51% of adults say they approve of the job the Supreme Court is doing, up from 48% in December. It's the highest mark since the high court had a 54% approval rating nearly three years ago.
According to the survey, 83% of Republicans and those who lean Republican say they strongly or somewhat approved of the high court. Meanwhile, 46% of independents say they approve while just 19% who identify as Democrat approved.
The Supreme Court hit a low of 39% in May 2024 and reached a high point of 66% approval in September 2020.
The Marquette Law School Poll surveyed 1,018 adults from Jan. 27-Feb. 5. The survey has a margin of error of +/-3.5 percentage points.

The FBI said Friday that allegations made against its agents labeling them as corrupt are "unfounded" and "deeply irresponsible."
The comments by the FBI appear to be in response to a social media post made by Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem about a report by the Los Angeles Times that cited a leaked document on an immigration enforcement action in LA.
"The FBI is so corrupt. We will work with any and every agency to stop leaks and prosecute these crooked deep state agents to the fullest extent of the law," Noem said Sunday.
"Making unfounded allegations calling FBI agents corrupt is deeply irresponsible and has not been supported by any evidence to date," the FBI said in a statement on Friday.
"Unless evidence of violations is presented, such comments undermine the men and women of the FBI. The FBI invites DHS to partner in determining the source of any leaked information and working together professionally to ensure the safety and security of ongoing immigration enforcement operations," it said.
Since taking office, President Donald Trump has embarked on a massive government makeover while firing and sidelining hundreds of civil servants and top officials at agencies, including the FBI, in his first steps toward downsizing the federal government and installing more loyalists.
Trump has picked Kash Patel, who has called for a radical reshaping of the nation's top law enforcement agency, to head the FBI. Patel's nomination has not yet been scheduled for full Senate debate and vote.

I'd like to see this too. I've actually bought all the Au & Ag I intended to buy but I'd make an exception if Jim/Ron sold some 1oz 8Chan/8Kun silver rounds. I might even buy a 1oz gold round or two if I liked the design.
There are probably a dozen or more private mints out there now that can help with design, engraving and the making of dies and minting of rounds.
They might be able to partner with a silver company like Chris Duane's and get a slightly better deal.
I have no experience myself. I've just been stacking for decades and keep my ear to the ground with respect to the metals "industry". There are hundreds of "custom" rounds out there so it can't be too difficult to get rounds made.
Doing it without having to charge insane premiums might be tougher.
Still, I wouldn't mind paying a little bit higher premium if it benefits the Watkins patriots and the great platform they have provided and maintained against all the odds in this Great Awakening.
Might be cool if anons could contribute to the design. Maybe a limited edition for the hard core anons/autists.

Ascension Island – a six-mile stretch of volcanic rock in the middle of the South Atlantic Ocean and part of the British Overseas Territory of St. Helena, Ascension and Tristan da Cuna – is home to the BBC’s Atlantic Relay Station. Managed and operated by Encompass on behalf of the BBC World Service, the stations’ six powerful shortwave transmitters have been beaming critical radio broadcasts to millions of listeners in some of the remotest parts of Africa for more than 50 years.
The Encompass staff, and roughly 800 other people who occupy Ascension island, are in a unique position; they have to work together in order to survive! As well as the shortwave transmitters to look after, Encompass engineers also run the island’s Power Station (consisting of 5 diesel generators and 5 wind turbines) as well as the reverse osmosis plant, supplying electricity and drinking water to the island’s population.
Ascension Island
Ecologically, Ascension is of special scientific interest. One of the last remaining habitats of endangered species including the Green Turtle, Sooty Tern and giant land crab. The island’s extinct volcano ‘Green Mountain’ rises to over 850 metres (2,600 feet) above the lava plains Georgetown (the island’s capital) and Two Boats Village which are the two main centres of population. Since the first British Naval base was established on the island in the early 19th century, Ascension proved to be a useful stopping off point for ships crossing the Atlantic due to its location almost half-way between Africa and South America, and it remains a strategic communications and logistics hub for both the UK and the United States. In the mid-1960s, the BBC built a relay station at English Bay on the northern tip of the island to transmit shortwave radio broadcasts to Africa and South America, plus a power station to provide the electricity and a desalination system for drinking water.
The practicalities and logistics of living and working on a remote rock in the middle of the South Atlantic, some 2,000 miles off the coast of West Africa, are awesome. Getting supplies, spares, and, of course, people on and off the island present an enormous challenge. Advance planning is essential; everything has a lead time of several weeks if not months. When the transmitter station needs a spare part, you can’t just drive to the local store or order online! Deep-sea fishing is the primary food source for the island’s inhabitants but providing meat and fresh fruit and vegetables is a major obstacle. A supply ship calls at Georgetown six or seven times a year en route from the UK to the Falkland Islands, and Encompass purchases extra capacity on the vessel so we can send fresh food for the staff every other month. The islands’ only ‘convenience store’ usually sells out within the first week of a new delivery! A very recent complication was that the ship was commandeered by the UK Government to provide emergency supplies nearer to home in the event of a ‘no deal’ Brexit.
Until recently, reaching Ascension Island was relatively straight forward. An RAF plane bound for the Falkland Islands used to touch down on the island twice a week to refuel. However, there is currently a major project being undertaken to repair and resurface the runway, and until this is completed, regular access is limited to much smaller military planes. There is one commercial flight a month from Ascension’s nearest neighbour, Saint Helena (more than 800 miles, or a two-hour flight away), which links with Johannesburg. These few military and commercial routes are the only opportunities to get people and goods to and from the island.

But, he added, the case made by the plaintiffs — led by the A.F.L.-C.I.O., an umbrella group of unions that represent many federal workers — did not meet the high legal bar necessary for him to immediately block the initiative’s access while the case proceeded.
“The record indicates,” Judge Bates wrote, that members of Mr. Musk’s team are federal employees “who have a need for the record in the performance of their duties.”
The ruling was a victory for the Trump administration and Mr. Musk in their efforts to scrutinize the activities and spending of federal agencies, which have faced several setbacks in the courts. For example, DOGE’s access to the Treasury Department’s payment and data systems was halted by a federal judge last week.
Unions representing federal workers, like the American Federation of Government Employees, have led many of the lawsuits against the Trump administration.

Former Special Counsel Jack Smith received $140,000 in pro bono legal services from high-profile DC firm Covington and Burling last month, shortly before he resigned from the Justice Department.
The legal services were labeled as a ‘gift’ on Jack Smith’s financial disclosure obtained by Politico.
The reason for the legal services was not immediately clear. However, it was previously reported that Jack Smith’s prosecutors sought legal counsel from high-powered DC law firms as Trump’s new DOJ was set to take over.
It was previously reported that Jack Smith’s investigators were fielding calls with lawyers in DC.
“One former senior White House official said aides inside the White House and across various federal agencies are intensely worried about the possibility that the incoming Trump administration will prosecute anyone deemed as having antagonized the president-elect,” CNN reported.
“Additionally, several prominent white-collar lawyers across Washington have fielded calls in recent weeks from government officials, including investigators from Smith’s office, who are concerned they could be targeted by the incoming Trump administration,” the outlet reported.
Rolling Stone also reported that Jack Smith’s prosecutors are afraid they will go bankrupt and are inquiring about taking steps to protect their family’s assets.
President Trump previously called for Jack Smith to be jailed.

Laid off from his construction job, Armstrong has driven to a storefront donation center where a valuable global commodity - the golden plasma in human blood - is harvested seven days a week.
Wedged between a dental office and a liquor store in a Pennsylvania strip mall, the place hardly looks like a cogwheel of international commerce.
But that's precisely what it is: part of a far-flung corporation that's raking in hundreds of millions a year thanks in large part to hard-pressed people like Armstrong.
In fact, the blood plasma business is so good these days that the family behind this company, Barcelona-based grifols SA, has amassed a $3.8 billion fortune, according to calculations by Bloomberg. The grifols family declined to comment.
Over the past decade, as international demand for plasma has soared and many Americans have struggled to make ends meet, plasma collection in the U.S. has more than doubled, according to the Plasma Protein Therapeutics Association, which represents the industry. grifols is riding the wave. The company's shares have climbed 37% in the past year, almost four times more than Spain's IBEX 35 Index.
After a series of acquisitions over the past two decades, grifols runs 220 collection centers in at least 32 states, a quarter of the U.S. total. The company posted net income of 596.6 million euros ($653 million) for 2018. More than three-quarters of its 4.49 billion euros of revenue was generated by the company's bioscience division, which runs donation centers in the U.S. and processes the collected plasma into drugs for sale.
For millions of people, many of them poor or underemployed, cash in the hand is worth a needle in the arm. On this gray December Monday, Armstrong has gotten $70 for as much as a pint and a half of plasma.
"We gotta pay the bills, eat," said Armstrong, leaning against his car in the parking lot outside the grifols center.
Of his day's plasma pay, he said: "It'll put gas in the car."
