The United States military shot down a “suspicious airplane” over the Gulf of America moments before President Donald J. Trump and his entourage left the Superbowl before the fourth quarter of the Philadelphia Eagles’s blowout over the Kansas City Chiefs.

His early departure sparked online debate, with many saying that Trump, who was rooting for the Chiefs, was miffed that they were losing dismally 34-6 with little chance of bouncing back. The Chiefs rallied in the fourth quarter, scoring 16 points, but still lost 40-22, by which time Trump was back aboard Air Force One.

Our sources say Trump’s premature retreat came after he learned that a pair of F-22 Raptors performing a Combat Air Patrol over Louisiana and the Gulf destroyed a Gulfstream G550—an American business jet with an operational range of over 7,000 miles—that refused to answer radio calls and was flying without an active transponder and Automatic Dependent Surveillance-Broadcast (ADS-B) system.

The Raptors and a KC-135 tanker were already airborne when an E-3 Sentry (AWACS) detected the Gulfstream 140 miles south of New Orleans. AWACS vectored the super-cruise Raptors to the bogey and requested they visually identify the invading aircraft. The pilots lit their cans—military jargon for afterburners—and intercepted the Gulfstream 70 miles south of Port Fourchon. It did not answer radio calls and, concerningly, had no visible FAA registry number on its fuselage or tail. The raptor pilots noted that someone had spraypainted black paint over identifiable features.

The Raptors flanked the Gulfstream and waggled their wings, an internationally recognizable message saying, “Hey, we want to communicate with you.” Whoever was flying the Gulfstream took evasive action, diving suddenly from 27,000 to 17,000 feet and maneuvering the plane erratically. At that point, the Raptors passed directly before its nose, clearly indicating they were performing an interception. Still, the G550 did not respond and returned to its original heading—toward New Orleans.

The Raptor pilots fired a burst of 20mm shells in front of the Gulfstream. However, its pilot seemed undeterred.

As the Gulfstream approached the coast, the Raptors received permission to fire—though it’s unclear at this moment who exactly authorized the shootdown—and blew the Gulfstream to smithereens.

Many ignored the "freezing of your digestive process" potential serious side effect of Ozempic and similar weight loss drugs. Now, some are going BLIND.

Experts have sounded the alarm about blockbuster weight loss drugs like Ozempic leaving users blind.

Several studies have linked the shots to conditions that cause inflammation and block blood flow to the eye, causing severe and sometimes permanent vision loss.

Now, researchers have detailed nine new reports of US patients who went blind after taking semaglutide or tirzepatide, the active ingredients in Ozempic and Mounjaro, respectively.

One woman injected one dose of semaglutide for her diabetes and woke up the next morning blind in her left eye.

This prompted her to stop the medication for two months before her diabetes forced her to go back on it. Two weeks after restarting, she lost vision in her right eye as well.

Another woman who had been taking semaglutide for a year woke up one morning with a 'painless shadow' over her left eye. Testing revealed blood vessels in her retina had become damaged, leading to blindness.

And one suffered bleeding in his left eye after taking tirzepatide for a year. However, doctors told him to keep taking the drug due to a lack of evidence linking his condition to weight loss shots.

The experts said while the exact cause is unclear, drugs like Ozempic rapidly lowering blood sugar levels could damage blood vessels in the eyes, leading to vision loss.

Health regulators in Europe will investigate whether Ozempic and other weight loss drugs cause blindness.

Several studies have now linked the shots to a condition that blocks blood flow to the nerves of the eye, causing vision loss.

Harvard doctors began investigating NovoNordisk's blockbuster drug, which is officially approved for diabetes treatment, in 2023, after three patients taking the drug were diagnosed with the condition in one week.

Their findings, published in July, warned that Ozempic may be linked to a two fold increase in cases of non-arteritic anterior ischemic optic neuropathy (NAION).

Then, earlier this month two studies out of Denmark, where Ozempic's maker is based, found a similar connection.

Since their approval and mass circulation, patients have reported a number of unexpected side effects linked to the various weight loss drugs.

Black box warnings for the Ozempic include that it may increase the risk of developing thyroid tumors. The label also warns about the risk of developing stomach paralysis which can lead to nausea, vomiting and malnutrition.

Other individuals have reported developing problems with suicidal thoughts, sexual dysfunction and hair loss as a result of the drug.

Roughly 6 percent of Americans who are currently using some form of the drug - representing more than 15 million people.

Criminal’s deportation case halted over son’s dislike for chicken nuggets

An Albanian criminal‘s deportation was halted partly because of his young son’s aversion to foreign chicken nuggets.

Klevis Disha, 39, entered the UK illegally as an unaccompanied minor. He later gave a fake name and falsely claimed to be born in the former Yugoslavia.

He was stripped of his UK citizenship in 2021 after serving two years in prison when he was caught with £300,000 known to be proceeds of crime.

It was later determined that he should forfeit citizenship because it had been “acquired through deception”.

But an immigration tribunal ruled it would be “unduly harsh” for his 10-year-old son, known as ‘C’ in court documents, to return to Albania with his father owing to food sensitivities, sensory issues and difficulties communicating emotions.

The only example listed in court documents was the young boy’s aversion to eating “the type of chicken nuggets that are available abroad”.

The court heard while the young boy had no formal diagnosis, education plans were in place to support his “emotional regulation, independence; reading and writing”.

Home Secretary Yvette Cooper appealed the judgment in August last year, arguing there was not enough evidence to show Disha’s deportation would be “unduly harsh” on his son.

Upper tribunal judge David Merrigan, who delivered the latest ruling on the case agreed, referring the appeal back to a new judge for further review.

“We can only see in the decision a single example of why C could not go to Albania,” Judge Merrigan ruled.

“We are not persuaded that the addition of this sole example approaches anywhere near the level of harshness for a reasonable judge to find it to be ‘unduly’ so.”

The case is ongoing.

A Home Office spokesperson, who said they did not comment on specific cases, said: “Foreign nationals who commit heinous crimes should be in no doubt that we will do everything to make sure they are not free on Britain’s streets, including removal from the UK at the earliest possible opportunity.

“Since the election, we’ve removed 2,580 foreign criminals, a 23% increase on the same period 12 months prior.”

Shadow home secretary Chris Philp told The Daily Telegraph: “This case shows how bogus asylum seekers and foreign criminals are ruthlessly exploiting human rights laws and weak judges to stay in the UK.”

Thousands of migrants working illegally in nail bars, car washes and restaurants have been arrested as part of the Government’s efforts to tighten UK border security.

Some 3,930 arrests have been made across 5,424 visits by immigration enforcement officers from July 5, when Labour took power, to January 31.

The mode automatically selects the fastest quiet speed as it advises pilots on the fastest, most efficient altitude based on weather forecasts.

It will be able to hit a top speed of Mach 1.3 – but will usually sit between Mach 1.1 and Mach 1.2.

It’s not the same tech used by NASA and its ‘quiet’ X-59 – as the sonic boom will be completely absent.

As well as the 600+ routes that will benefit from Overture’s existing Mach 0.94/Mach 1.7 hybrid speed, Boomless Cruise is set to add many other practical routes.

These will fly from coast to coast in the US up to 90 minutes faster when permitted by American regulators.

Trump plans to pardon former Democratic Illinois Gov. Rod Blagojevich

During his first term, Trump had commuted Blagojevich’s 14-year sentence for political corruption charges.

The news of the pardon is according to a person familiar with Trump’s plans who wasn’t authorized to speak publicly. The person said Trump planned to sign the pardon Monday afternoon.

Blagojevich was convicted in 2011 and served eight years of his sentence before Trump cut short his term.

Blagojevich appeared on “Celebrity Apprentice” in 2010, before his first corruption trial started. He drew praise from Trump at the time when he “fired” him as a contestant.

New York Democrats are working on a plan to deprive the Republicans of a much-needed House seat.

As Rep. Elise Stefanik takes up her role as Donald Trump’s Ambassador to the United Nations, the Republicans will lose another Congressional seat on what is already a razor-thin majority.

To try and squeeze that majority even further, New York Democrats have put forward legislation that would allow Governor Kathy Hochul to delay scheduling special elections until November.

Under current law, Hochul is required to schedule a special election within 90 days after the vacancy is declared.

The decision to allow this delay until November is all the more convenient for Democrats because it will coincide with New York’s state elections.

It was a horrific murder case that seemed really cut and dry—it was also a true crime story that made the rounds on TV in the mid-2000s. But this one came with a really bizarre twist. Instead of ruling the brutal stabbing death of Ellen Greenberg—a teacher stabbed twenty grisly times—as a homicide, officials called it a suicide.

And one of the top officials who signed off on this mind-boggling suicide decision wasnone other than Josh Shapiro, Pennsylvania’s prosecutor at the time and the state’s current Dem governor.

What was he thinking back then? Was he just another soft-on-crime Dem, or was there a deeper reason he let this case slide?

Well, we just might get our answer soon…

Now, that incredibly shady decision is finally being called into question, as Ellen’s death is being reexamined.

A lot of people now believe that prosecutor Josh Shapiro was more than happy to sweep this case under the rug to protect his political future. Because let’s be honest—how does anyone, with a straight face, call this a suicide?

Think about it. We’re supposed to believe that Ellen Greenberg: 1) chose to end her life by stabbing herself and 2) managed to do it 20 times—including multiple stab wounds to the back of her head and neck. When she was found, a five-inch kitchen knife was still lodged in her chest.

Shapiro thought this was a suicide:

It made no sense in 2011, and it makes no sense in 2025.

Ellen’s parents recently spoke with the Daily Mail, sharing their frustration over how Governor Shapiro handled their daughter’s case—and they have every right to be furious.

Daily Mail:

‘She was being abused,’ she says. ‘After reading the autopsy report many, many, many times, there were bruises in various stages of healing from abuse.’

Now after 14 years, Philadelphia authorities have finally agreed to reopen the investigation into her cause of death after the pathologist walked back his controversial ruling, declaring she died by suicide despite being found with 20 stab wounds – many to the neck and back of the head.

At the time of her death, family and friends of the 27-year-old elementary school teacher had noticed something wasn’t right.

Ellen was planning her wedding to her boyfriend of three years Sam Goldberg, trying on dresses and sending out ‘Save the dates.’

But she had asked her parents if she could move back in with them at their home in Harrisburg. She had begun seeing a psychiatrist and was prescribed anxiety medication.

She had put it down to stress with work and, according to her psychiatrist, she was not suicidal and she never disclosed any domestic abuse.

Sandee says her daughter never told her anything negative about her relationship with TV producer Goldbergand had never said she was being abused or was in danger.

‘But I knew she was struggling with something. But I didn’t know what,’ she says. ‘I tried to find out. But I just couldn’t get to the bottom of it… At the time I did everything I could.’

She adds: ‘It’s 14 years later. We are obviously suffering as she’s no longer with us. We will never be grandparents. I just wish I could have done more.’

Governor Shapiro has a lot to answer for now that other officials, including the medical examiner, are speaking out and making a lot of waves. The Daily Mail piece goes on:

Now, in a series of bombshell events this past week, Ellen’s parents are finally one step closer to getting justice.

First, Dr Marlon Osbourne who performed Ellen’s autopsy said he had changed his mind about her manner of death and, based on new information, no longer believes she died by suicide.

The day after Ellen’s death, Osbourne, who was a pathologist at Philadelphia’s Medical Examiner’s Office at the time, had ruled Ellen’s death a homicide, citing ‘multiple stab wounds by an unknown person.’

A few weeks later, following a meeting with Philadelphia police, he amended his ruling to suicide.

On Friday January 31, almost exactly 14 years to the day when he carried out the autopsy, Osbourne signed a written declaration saying that ‘it is my professional opinion Ellen’s manner of death should be designated as something other than suicide.’

‘I am now aware that information exists which draws into question, for example, whether Ellen’s fiancé was witnessed entering the apartment before placing the 9-1-1 call on January 26, 2011; whether the door was forced open as reported; whether Ellen’s body was moved by someone else inside the apartment with her at or near the time of her death; and the findings of Lindsey Emery, M.D. from her neuropathological evaluation of Ellen’s cervical segment sample,’ he said.

Three days after his bombshell statement, and just as a civil trial was set to get under way, a settlement was reached in the two remaining lawsuits brought by the Greenbergs against Philadelphia city officials.

While it includes a financial payout to the Greenbergs, the most significant part of the settlement is that the Philadelphia Medical Examiner’s Office has agreed to reopen its investigation into Ellen’s death.

For the Greenbergs, it’s a huge step forward that for a long time seemed so out of reach. ‘It’s taken me several days. I’m still wrapping my head around this,’ says Sandee.

As the dust begins to settle on this nearly 20-year-old botched cold case, you have to wonder—was this shady ruling one of the reasons Kamala Harris didn’t pick Shapiro as her running mate when so many thought she would?

Or maybe Shapiro was the one who kept his distance, realizing that teaming up with Kamala would have been the only case of actual political suicide he couldn’t cover up.

20,000 people vanish in 'Alaskan Triangle' - some think Bigfoot or UFOs could be to blame

Mysterious theories abound as to why an estimated 20,000 people have vanished within a vast region of the US known as the 'Alaskan Triangle. '

Extending between Juneau, Anchorage, and the town of Utqiagvik (formerly Barrow), this territory is characterized by thick forests, towering icy peaks, and expansive stretches of frozen tundra.

The scant population means there are rarely any witnesses to the mysterious disappearances. Since the 1970s, approximately 20,000 people have been reported missing in the area, prompting spine-chilling hypotheses about their fates.

The disappearance rate is said to be twice the national average, according to the Travel Channel. Reports of UFO encounters have heightened the mystery, with sightings of bizarre triangular craft witnessed drifting through the skies.

Speaking to the History Channel, Wes Smith said: "It's like everything you've ever been taught has gone out of the window, because how is that possible?"

Researcher Ken Gerhard, also speaking with the History Channel, said: "What I found when I was doing my research in the Alaskan Triangle, was that a number of these missing person cases legitimately could not be solved.

"This wasn't just a case of someone being mauled by a bear or falling into a crevasse, I mean, these were often people that were going about their daily lives.", reports the Mirror US.

He added: "They weren't out on some grand adventure and yet ultimately, they disappeared for no good reason."

The 'Alaskan Triangle' is notorious not just for the disappearance of hikers and occasional vehicles, but also for entire planes vanishing under mysterious circumstances.

Just last week, a small plane crashed into ice on the Bering Sea, resulting in the death of 10 people.

The single-engine turboprop plane, operated by Bering Air, was en route from Unalakleet to Nome when it disappeared on Thursday afternoon.

It was located the following day after an extensive search, with all nine passengers and the pilot confirmed dead, marking one of the deadliest plane crashes in the state in the past 25 years.

However, this is merely the latest in a series of tragic incidents. In 1950, a military aircraft carrying 44 people vanished without a trace despite a massive search operation.

Similarly, in 1972, US House Majority Leader Hale Boggs' private plane went missing, leaving no trace behind. Certain missing person cases have left investigators puzzled for decades.

For instance, mountain rescuer Gerald DeBerry disappeared in the White Mountains while searching for a missing woman in 2011. His vehicle was later found, but he was never seen again.

Amid these recurring disappearances, legends of mythical creatures like the Sasquatch, or Bigfoot, have resurfaced. Another local legend speaks of a creature known as Nantinaq, a giant, hairy being from Alaskan folklore similar to Bigfoot.

According to the tale, it terrorized the town of Portlock, Alaska in the 1940s, eventually forcing the villagers to abandon their homes and flee.

"With so much fantastic habitat and so few people to compete with, Sasquatches basically have the run of Alaska," cryptozoologist Cliff Barackman told The Daily Star.

Ellen Greenberg’s mom now looks back on the months leading up to her daughter’s brutal stabbing death in a whole new light.

‘I thought she was in a safe, loving home,’ Sandee Greenberg tells DailyMail.com.

‘I don't know what I think now.’

One thing she is now certain of is that Ellen’s violent 2011 death in the Philadelphia apartment she shared with her fiance wasn’t the only violence she suffered in her final months.

‘She was being abused,’ she says. ‘After reading the autopsy report many, many, many times, there were bruises in various stages of healing from abuse.’

Now after 14 years, Philadelphia authorities have finally agreed to reopen the investigation into her cause of death after the pathologist walked back his controversial ruling, declaring she died by suicide despite being found with 20 stab wounds - many to the neck and back of the head.

At the time of her death, family and friends of the 27-year-old elementary school teacher had noticed something wasn’t right.

Ellen was planning her wedding to her boyfriend of three years Sam Goldberg, trying on dresses and sending out ‘Save the dates.’

But she had asked her parents if she could move back in with them at their home in Harrisburg. She had begun seeing a psychiatrist and was prescribed anxiety medication.

She had put it down to stress with work and, according to her psychiatrist, she was not suicidal and she never disclosed any domestic abuse.

Sandee says her daughter never told her anything negative about her relationship with TV producer Goldberg and had never said she was being abused or was in danger.

‘But I knew she was struggling with something. But I didn't know what,’ she says. ‘I tried to find out. But I just couldn't get to the bottom of it… At the time I did everything I could.’

She adds: ‘It’s 14 years later. We are obviously suffering as she's no longer with us. We will never be grandparents. I just wish I could have done more.’

On January 26 2011, Ellen was found dead on the kitchen floor inside the two-bedroom apartment she shared with Goldberg in Philadelphia.

She had been stabbed 20 times, many of them to the back of her head and neck. A five-inch kitchen knife was still sticking out of her chest.

Her family instantly believed she had been murdered.

What followed next was a controversial suicide ruling and 14 years of legal battles between Ellen’s parents, Sandee and Josh Greenberg, and Philadelphia officials to have that ruling overturned, launch a homicide investigation and finally reveal the truth about what happened to their daughter.

‘It's good news but it also took 14 years for this man [Osbourne] to flip flop. I think medical examiners take an oath of their profession to do medicine and I'm not exactly sure these medical examiners have been following the oath they signed up for.’

There are some obvious concerns that the same authorities they believe botched their daughter’s investigation for the last 14 years will now be leading this new review.

But, Sandee warns authorities that ‘the world is watching’ this time round.

‘There’s going to be a lot more transparency, a lot more accountability,’ she says. ‘And the world is watching.’

‘Those in the medical examiner's office and in other Pennsylvania law enforcement agencies, are going to be held a lot more accountable. Up until now, they've gotten away with a lot.’

The Greenbergs’ attorney Joe Podraza tells DailyMail.com he believes it’s only a matter of time before Ellen’s death is ruled as a homicide - a move that would finally lead to a full criminal investigation.

‘We expect that there is more than sufficient evidence to decide that the case is a homicide,’ he says.

‘The question then will be whether there is sufficient evidence to determine one or more people are responsible - and that still remains to be seen.’

One person who hasn’t publicly celebrated the reopening of the case is Goldberg.

Sandee tells DailyMail.com that Goldberg, now a married father-of-two living in New York, hasn’t reached out to her, her husband or their legal team about this huge development in his ex-fiancee's case.

She describes his silence following the medical examiner’s conclusion and city’s announcement of a new investigation as ‘very interesting.’

‘And especially not just him but his family. No one has reached out to us that I'm aware of,’ she says.

Sandee says it no longer surprises her.

The last time she and Josh heard from their once future son-in-law was in an email in 2013 announcing his engagement to his now-wife Caroline Shnay.

The couple married in January 2014 and now live with their two children in a Gramercy Park apartment they bought for $1.88m.

Their nuptials were announced in The New York Times - almost exactly three years after Ellen’s death - revealing fashion designer Shnay is the daughter of a prominent New York real estate magnate.

At the time, Goldberg worked as a features producer for NBC Sports but now works for LIV Golf.

Over the last 14 years, Goldberg and his family haven’t had any part in the Greenbergs’ pursuit for justice for Ellen.

‘In the beginning I never understood that behavior. You know, if you love someone, you want to help them feel good and protect them…’ Sandee says.

The Greenbergs have never accused Goldberg or anyone else of being involved in Ellen’s death.

And Goldberg has never been named a suspect or been accused of a crime. Goldberg did not respond to DailyMail.com's requests for an interview.

In all the years, Goldberg has only ever spoken out publicly about Ellen’s death once - in a written statement emailed to CNN in the fall of 2024.

In it, he insisted that Ellen died by suicide and blasted the ‘lies, distortions and falsehoods’ about him in the years since.

Attorney Larry Krasner had represented the Greenbergs in the early days in their fight to get Ellen’s case reopened. Then, in 2018, Krasner became the Philadelphia District Attorney and so, to avoid a conflict of interest, he passed the matter on to then-Pennsylvania Attorney General Shapiro. Shapiro’s office doubled down on the suicide ruling and denied a request to reinvestigate the case.

Following what was described as his own ‘appearance of a conflict’ - after rumors swirled that Shapiro had a connection to the Goldberg family - he sent the case back to the Philadelphia District Attorney’s Office, which then passed the case to the Chester County District Attorney’s Office.

In November 2024, Chester County said there was not enough evidence to say a crime had been committed.

However, one month later, a judge ruled that the Greenbergs’ could take the city of Philadelphia to trial over an alleged ‘cover-up’ of their daughter’s case, paving the way for the settlement.

Now, after 14 years of resistance from Philadelphia officials and the family pouring $700,000 into their own investigations, Ellen’s case is finally being reinvestigated.

Despite the apparent flaws in the initial police response, Podraza is confident that a proper homicide investigation will still uncover evidence to prove Ellen was murdered.

‘There's still evidence that exists that was not compromised and some investigating activity that still needs to be completed such as fingerprinting on the knife,’ he says.

‘I understand from experts that can still be done and it can still yield information. Even though the premises were cleaned, there are still, as I understand from experts, traces of blood and things of that nature that still can be discerned from the premises even at this late date.’

A homicide ruling - or any ruling that is not suicide - will lead to a full investigation and access to all public law enforcement resources like grand juries, subpoenas, investigators and so on, he explains.

‘When that becomes available, we will be able to get down to what actually happened in this case,’ he says.

‘And I believe, I really truly believe in my heart, that we will get to the bottom of what happened to Ellen and hold whoever murdered her responsible.’

Star Trek legend William Shatner is confident that alien life exists- but doesn't believe intergalactic visitors have boldly gone to Earth yet.

The actor revealed that he doesn't believe that ETs have abducted humans either, despite hundreds of people's claims.

When asked whether alien life is already here, Shatner, who has been to space with billionaire Jeff Bezos, replied: "No, not yet.

“I don't think the little beeps on the radar screen are unidentified flying objects. There's something, but it's not a foreign guy saying, 'I'm going to land.

I see a guy in the Florida swamps, I'll pick him up instead of the President of the United States.' But I do believe that life flourishes in the universe. "

Shatner did say he felt alien life exists, though. "We are finding out that the building blocks of life are all around us…universal. We see meteorites that carry the building blocks of life,” he said.

"So in my imagination, my humble opinion, life is flourishing in every direction. Life on earth, for example, is demanding. There's life everywhere wanting to exist.”

The 93-year-old spoke exclusively on the red carpet at The 52nd Annual Saturn Awards, where he was honoured with the Lifetime Achievement Award.

Shatner, who is most famous as Captain James T Kirk in the Star Trek TV series and film franchise, flew to space on October 13, 2021.

Then aged 90, he became the oldest person to ever travel into space. “It profoundly changed me,” he added. “I grieved for the world. We are in real trouble. For people to say it (global warming) is a hoax is stunning.

The fires are a result of global warming, with the heating of the earth and lack of moisture and dry vegetation. We have just had a global warming event. It is not going to get better. It is going to get worse.

He continued: “That is what I am in grief for. I saw the beauty from a distance. And I realised it is going to disappear and die…and we walk around with our heads in the clouds."

Shatner admitted that his iconic role, which he played from 1966 to 1994, made him become fascinated about life beyond the stars.

“I became intrigued, not that I wasn’t, by what is out there both physically and spiritually," he said. “Is there life out there? If there is, what is it thinking? What is our fate?

What are we doing? So Star Trek being a science fiction show and conjecturing the future made me think more about that than I would have.”

Shatner’s Lifetime Achievement Award was the highlight of a star-studded Saturn Awards held at the Universal Hilton Hotel.

Christopher Lloyd, Lea Thompson, and writer-producer Bob Gale of Back to the Future were in attendance to celebrate the 40th Anniversary of the all-time classic time-travel adventure and to receive The George Pal Memorial Award for its filmmakers and stars. presented the Award to all three.

Other notable attendees included Colin Farrell, Denis Villeneuve, Nicolas Cage, Mark Hamill, Juliet Lewis, Antony Starr, Peter Weller, and Nancy Allen, among many others. All attended to collect and present the Saturn Awards.
