>The 150 year-old Baltimore and Potomac Tunnel is the oldest tunnel on the Northeast Corridor.  The 1.4-mile tunnel beneath densely populated West Baltimore connects Baltimore’s Penn Station to points south. The tunnel is the largest Northeast Corridor bottleneck between Washington and New Jersey and a single point of failure for the nine million Amtrak and Maryland Area Commuter (MARC) passengers who rely on it annually. In other words, there are no detours possible if the aging tunnel were to unexpectedly close. The tunnel’s tight curvature and steep incline requires trains to reduce speeds to 30 mph. These issues create chronic delays — more than 10% of weekday trains are delayed, and delays occur on 99% of weekdays.

Gaslighting as usual, the White House is telling Americans freaked out by the drones hovering ominously over parts of New York and New Jersey: Everything’s fine! Just trust us!

Since the first known spotting Nov. 18, at least 3,000 sightings have followed in New Jersey alone, and it’s spread to Staten Island and The Bronx.

Guesses as to what’s going on proliferate, some more believable than others: more Chinese surveillance, launches from an Iranian mothership parked off the East Coast, and so on.

Is this a case for Fox Mulder and Dana Scully?

Pushed by local leaders to address exactly what the heck has been happening in US airspace for nearly a month, National Security Communications Adviser John Kirby had the nerve to brush off concerns.

“Many of the reported sightings are actually manned aircraft that are being operated lawfully,” he insisted, and there’s no evidence the UFOs pose a threat.

Which might be reassuring if he hadn’t just indicated that the White House has no clue where the drones are coming from.

Translation: Don’t believe your lying eyes. Believe us.

Americans aren’t stupid; most people can tell the difference between an airplane or helicopter and the type of eerie, floating objects that have been reported.

And the Biden crew has absolutely blown its credibility on this front: Earlier this year, the White House stayed hush-hush about a Chinese spy balloon that it knew was taking a tour of American military bases.

They fully planned to keep it a secret forever, only to be foiled when civilians spotted the craft.

Who's sending the UFOs?

For that matter, why trust a White House that lied (again, knowingly) about how Joe would never pardon Hunter?

Not to mention years of gaslighting about the border being “under control” and months of bull about inflation being “transitory.”

If the US government actually has no idea what the drones are or who’s operating them, that’s a scandalous national-security failure.

But the feds have the resources to figure it out. Get on it.

People are scared: Car-sized objects that could be armed or equipped with surveillance gear are literally hanging over their heads.

Shame on Govs. Phil Murphy and Kathy Hochul, too: While other local pols clamor for more information from the feds, Hochul has been mum about the whole thing, and Murphy didn’t even attend a Wednesday briefing for local officials hosted by his office.

They should both be putting the Biden administration’s feet to the fire. Americans deserve real answers as to what’s going on in their skies. Their government owes them at least a plan for finding out.

SAN FRANCISCO — A former OpenAI researcher known for whistleblowing the blockbuster artificial intelligence company facing a swell of lawsuits over its business model has died, authorities confirmed this week.

Suchir Balaji, 26, was found dead inside his Buchanan Street apartment on Nov. 26, San Francisco police and the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner said. Police had been called to the Lower Haight residence at about 1 p.m. that day, after receiving a call asking officers to check on his well-being, a police spokesperson said.

The medical examiner’s office determined the manner of death to be suicide and police officials this week said there is “currently, no evidence of foul play.”

Information he held was expected to play a key part in lawsuits against the San Francisco-based company.

Balaji’s death comes three months after he publicly accused OpenAI of violating U.S. copyright law while developing ChatGPT, a generative artificial intelligence program that has become a moneymaking sensation used by hundreds of millions of people across the world.

Its public release in late 2022 spurred a torrent of lawsuits against OpenAI from authors, computer programmers and journalists, who say the company illegally stole their copyrighted material to train its program and elevate its value past $150 billion.

The Mercury News and seven sister news outlets are among several newspapers, including the New York Times, to sue OpenAI in the past year.

In an interview with the New York Times published Oct. 23, Balaji argued OpenAI was harming businesses and entrepreneurs whose data were used to train ChatGPT.

“If you believe what I believe, you have to just leave the company,” he told the outlet, adding that “this is not a sustainable model for the internet ecosystem as a whole.”

Balaji grew up in Cupertino before attending UC Berkeley to study computer science. It was then he became a believer in the potential benefits that artificial intelligence could offer society, including its ability to cure diseases and stop aging, the Times reported. “I thought we could invent some kind of scientist that could help solve them,” he told the newspaper.

But his outlook began to sour in 2022, two years after joining OpenAI as a researcher. He grew particularly concerned about his assignment of gathering data from the internet for the company’s GPT-4 program, which analyzed text from nearly the entire internet to train its artificial intelligence program, the news outlet reported.

The practice, he told the Times, ran afoul of the country’s “fair use” laws governing how people can use previously published work. In late October, he posted an analysis on his personal website arguing that point.

No known factors “seem to weigh in favor of ChatGPT being a fair use of its training data,” Balaji wrote. “That being said, none of the arguments here are fundamentally specific to ChatGPT either, and similar arguments could be made for many generative AI products in a wide variety of domains.”

Reached by this news agency, Balaji’s mother requested privacy while grieving the death of her son…

So you want to hunt space aliens, but can’t find anyone to pay you to do it. You wouldn’t be the first.

While there are no listings on ClearanceJobs for “UFO hunter” (or “UAP hunter”—unexplained aerial phenomena), there are places where sightings happen often enough that hunting little green men may as well be in the job description.

The ClearanceJobs Guide to UFOs (and Where to Work to See Them)

Here are a few places known for UFO sightings, and a few jobs you can expect to find there.

You’ll need a clearance or (eligibility for one), because of course you need a clearance to work where they’re hiding the flying saucers.

1. Nellis Air Force Base

This entire article could consist of nine words: Just get a job at Nellis Air Force Base. Where do I even start. UFOlogists divide alien species by their distinct characteristics.

There are the Grays—the short, skinny creatures with giant, glossy eyes. The Reptilians, who might secretly control the government (if my brake lines fail mysteriously, you’ll know the truth).

And, among others, the Tall Whites, which are… well… tall and white. There is (allegedly) a Tall White base at Nellis.

I’m not saying for sure that there is! But if there is, you would do well to work there.

Because that cleared job for an administrative assistant might be for an Air Force officer.

But it might be for someone—or something—a bit more exotic. Among the companies hiring at Nellis are AECOM and Lockheed Martin.

As of June 2018, most jobs listed in the ClearanceJobs database are Top Secret (of course!) and orbit the aviation field—especially for aircraft engineers, mechanics, and technicians.

(The F-35 is responsible for many of these jobs. That’s a pretty advanced plane. Wonder where we learned to make it?)

2. Denver International Airport

The Reptilians live beneath Denver International Airport. Allegedly!

I’m not saying there are space aliens who live in subterranean airport bunkers connected by a labyrinth of tunnels, but there are definitely tunnels down there, and maybe bunkers.

Reptilians remains a question mark—for now. Get a job there and perhaps you can answer the greatest question to yet vex humankind.

The vast majority of posted Denver jobs are in the information technology field. Lockheed Martin alone employs over 9,000 in the state.

They first set up shop in Denver in the mid-1950s at the request of the Air Force, who wanted to bring its rocket capability inland, safe from enemy attack.

An hour south of Denver (if you want a long commute) is Colorado Springs, home of the Air Force Academy.

No branch of the military is more associated with flying saucers than the Air Force. It can’t be a coincidence.

NJ Drone 'Invasion' Just In Time For Congress To Reauthorize Orwellian Law

A series of drone sightings over New Jersey that began in mid-November has left residents and lawmakers spooked about the possibility of foreign adversaries breaching US airspace with drone swarms. While officials have attempted to reassure the public, some lawmakers have stoked fear, leading to widespread panic on social media, with people interpreting anything moving in the night sky as a potential drone (even commercial jets and stars).

Days ago, the FBI and the US Homeland Security Department released a statement indicating, "We have no evidence at this time that the reported drone sightings pose a national security or public safety threat or have a foreign nexus."

"Historically, we have experienced cases of mistaken identity, where reported drones are, in fact, manned aircraft," the federal agencies said.

White House national security communications adviser John Kirby said many of the purported drone sightings are commercial jets with no evidence of a national security or public safety threat.

If actual 'truck-sized' drones (some say Iranian origin) were flying in some of the world's most restricted airspace, let's use common sense—the Pentagon would have scrambled F-22s and F-35s on the East Coast almost immediately. Since that hasn't happened (as far as we know), we can't help but be suspicious about the whole drone situation. Additionally, no private satellite data shows that Iranian drone carriers are parked off the coast; in fact, these vessels are located 7,500 miles away.

Let's take a step back and review some of Elon Musk's tweets on X:

Sept. 30: "Drone swarm battles are coming that will boggle the mind"

Sept. 29: "Epic drone wars coming"

Sept. 5, 2023: "The Drone Wars are already a big deal, but we ain't seen nothing yet …"

What did Elon know ahead of time?

Even President-elect Trump wrote on the Truth Social platform: "Can this really be happening without our government's knowledge? I don (sic) think so! Let the public know, and now. Otherwise, shot (sic) them down!!! DJT."

Fox News reporter Bill Melugin asked Musk on X his thoughts on the situation… "Alien spaceships controlled by Iran obv," Musk replied.

No actual drones have been recovered, and footage on X frequently features amateur videos mistaking drones for commercial aircraft. Furthermore, as far as we know, the FAA has not closed large sections of airspace or diverted planes. While we are not dismissing the possibility of foreign adversary-operated drones breaching heavily restricted airspace, we are pointing out the extraordinary hype on social media (with no substance), which has caused widespread panic with some users on X calling this a "psyop."

X user mcm_ct_usa makes the point the purported drone sightings could be a"psyop against you to manipulate Congress into passing the new H.R.8610 (Counter-UAS Authority Security, Safety, and Reauthorization Act of 2024)which will include appropriations and enhanced government powers to control you, and they're even going so far as to use it to push for acts of war against other countries."

It's coincidental that last week, a Homeland Security joint subcommittee held a hearing on H.R.8610, the Counter-UAS Authority Security, Safety, and Reauthorization Act.This bill would renew and reform counter-UAS legal authorities and strengthen the FAA's oversight powers of drones.

"The reason we need legal authority is that without it, use of the most effective types of drone detection and counter-drone technologies could violate criminal laws,including those that prohibit destroying or disabling aircraft in flight and intercepting signals and communications," said Brad Wiegmann, the DOJ's deputy assistant attorney general for national security.

Withcurrent drone-countering authorities set to expire on Dec. 20,the sudden surge in purported drone sightings and the accompanying MSM and social media panic might make a bit more sense—as an effort to push for the reauthorization of Orwellian drone laws.

The White House has ruled out foreign adversaries and hobbyists as the cause of the drone invasion in New Jersey, leaving many residents to speculate it could be aliens.

The internet has been flooded with images and videos showing bright orbs and triangle-shaped craft having in the night sky that move in bizarre flight patterns.

George Noory, host of Coast-to-Coast AM and a leading voice of the unexplained, told DailyMail.com: 'It's bizarre. There's something else very, very nefarious about this.'

The drones are avoiding capture, he said, adding, 'They shut their lights off, they are undetectable in some cases. It's very, very bizarre. This could be an act of war for all I know.'

But alien tech? Norry said it doesn't add up. 'I'm going to rule out extraterrestrial. It doesn't sound like that,' he said. 'It sounds more like a military effort than anything else.'

Pentagon Deputy Press Secretary Sabrina Singh said the initial assessment is that 'this is not the work of a foreign adversary or a foreign entity.'

The FBI and Homeland Security are investigating, and politicians have conflicting takes.

White House National Security spokesman John Kirby said this week that many of the reported drones are manned aircraft being operated lawfully.

'A congressman out of New Jersey believes that there is an Iranian ship parked off the East Coast of the US and it is sending these drones over certain military bases, Donald Trump's golf course, and strange strategic locations,' Noory said.

The drones were first spotted in northern New Jersey, near Morris County, in November.

Residents said the drones gather in clusters at night and fly with their lights off. They appear to avoid detection by helicopter and radio.

'There's some helicopters that have been seen in the area, and these things seem to avoid those,' said Noory.

A few spots drones have surveyed: military research facility Picatinny Arsenal, President-elect Donald Trump's golf course in Bedminster, and around critical infrastructure including water reservoirs, electrical transmission lines, police stations and military bases.

'Drones are legal as long as they're registered with the FAA and are allowed to fly around certain spots,' Noory said. 'But this is weird.'

There are some notable no-fly zones even for registered drones: around airports, military installations, certain landmarks, nuclear plants and stadiums during sports games.

The FAA issued a temporary ban on flights over Trump's golf course and Picatinny Arsenal Military Base after requests from federal partners.

Noory said the fact that there's been no official statement on what's going on could mean the government doesn't want to worry U.S. citizens.

'Maybe there's something that's a little more nefarious, a little more dangerous and they don't want to alert and panic the public,' he continued.

'I'm hoping to God that our government is investigating this very thoroughly. I have to assume they are — they're just not letting us all know what's going on.'

'The other thing you've got to be concerned about is, drones carry missiles in some cases. Hope to God that these aren't warfare.'

One of the strangest parts of this story is the size of the reported drones, Noory said.

'They obviously are not from hobbyists. There's not a bunch of kids flying these little toys around,' he added.

Celebrity podcaster Joe Rogan said he's not buying the government's official explanation for the wave of mysterious drones UFOs spotted over New Jersey.

Rogan reposted a video of the White House's national security communications advisor John Kirby telling reporters that the sightings posed no 'national security or public safety threat' — but pushed back on Kirby's effort to allay Americans' fears.

'This is what the kids call "sus,"' Rogan posted to X.com, then floated his own theory.

NJ Drone 'Invasion' Just In Time For Congress To Reauthorize Orwellian Law

A series of drone sightings over New Jersey that began in mid-November has left residents and lawmakers spooked about the possibility of foreign adversaries breaching US airspace with drone swarms. While officials have attempted to reassure the public, some lawmakers have stoked fear, leading to widespread panic on social media, with people interpreting anything moving in the night sky as a potential drone (even commercial jets and stars).

Days ago, the FBI and the US Homeland Security Department released a statement indicating, "We have no evidence at this time that the reported drone sightings pose a national security or public safety threat or have a foreign nexus."

"Historically, we have experienced cases of mistaken identity, where reported drones are, in fact, manned aircraft," the federal agencies said.

White House national security communications adviser John Kirby said many of the purported drone sightings are commercial jets with no evidence of a national security or public safety threat.

If actual 'truck-sized' drones (some say Iranian origin) were flying in some of the world's most restricted airspace, let's use common sense—the Pentagon would have scrambled F-22s and F-35s on the East Coast almost immediately. Since that hasn't happened (as far as we know), we can't help but be suspicious about the whole drone situation. Additionally, no private satellite data shows that Iranian drone carriers are parked off the coast; in fact, these vessels are located 7,500 miles away.

Trump’s Pick For Border Czar Issues Dire Warning To Chicago Mayor

The man that President-elect Donald Trump has tapped to be his border czar, Tom Homan, has made a bombshell promise in a massive blue city.

He was on hand in Chicago, a city whose mayor has vowed to fight the Trump administration on its deportation plans, where he said he would start on “day one.”

He gave the comments on Monday at a Christmas party hosted by the Northwest Side GOP, WFLD-TV reported.

“All that starts January 21st, and we’re going to start right here in Chicago, Illinois,” he said.

“If your Chicago mayor doesn’t want to help, he can step aside. But if he impedes us —if he knowingly harbors or conceals an illegal alien — I will prosecute him,” he said in a stern warning to Democrat Mayor Brandon Johnson.

He also took a swipe at the state’s Democrat Gov. JB Pritzker in his speech.

“Chicago is in trouble because yourmayor sucks and your governor sucks,” he said.

“January 21st, you’re going to look for a lot of ICE agents in your city, looking for criminals and gang members,” he said, indicating that the deportations would start the day after the inauguration of the president-elect.

The governor’s office responded to the comments with blistering words.

“It’s no secret that Illinois will face countless, baseless attacks over the next four years from the Trump Administration. Rather than responding to every ridiculous boast from Trump lackeys, Governor Pritzker is focused on what he was focused on during the first Trump term: leading our state with competence instead of chaos,” it said.

In a segment in November, CNN host Kasie Hunt interviewed Homan and played two video clips — one of Denver Mayor Mike Johnston, who has promised to obstruct czar Tom Homan’s efforts to apprehend illegal immigrants. Johnston made headlines earlier for suggesting that he would like to see city police block federal immigration authorities from entering Denver, an action he compared to Tiananmen Square.

Hunt then played a clip of Homan during a Fox News segment with host Sean Hannity, where he promised that Johnston and other obstinant Democratic officials would face legal repercussions if he followed through on his threat to block federal immigration authorities.

“But look, me and the Denver mayor we agree on one thing. He’s willing to go to jail. I’m willing to put him in jail. There’s a statute, Title 8, United States Code 1324 – AAA. And what it says is it’s a felony if you knowingly harbor and conceal illegal aliens from immigration authorities. It is also a felony to impede a federal law enforcement officer,” Homan.

“So if you don’t want to help, that’s fine. He can get the hell out of the way, but we’re going to go do the job. President Trump has a mandate from the American people. We’ve got to secure this country and save American lives,” he added.

That led Hunt to react with a stunned “Ooof!”

Earlier in November, Boston’s Democratic Mayor Michelle Wu faced scrutiny after vowing to deny federal authorities access to city resources during raids aimed at locating and arresting violent criminals.

While a 2014 city ordinance prevents cooperation on civil immigration matters, it does not apply to criminal cases, according to the Boston Herald. Wu told a local TV station, “We are not cooperating with those efforts that actually threaten the safety of everyone by causing widespread fear and having large-scale economic impact.”

Homan further elaborated on the duties Trump has entrusted him with during his interview with Hannity.

“I find it shocking that any mayor of a city would say — President Trump’s been clear. We want to concentrate on public safety threats and national security threats,” he said.

“I find it hard to believe that any mayor or governor would say they don’t want public safety threats removed from their neighborhoods. I mean, I don’t know what the hell is going on in Denver, but we’re going to go and we’re going to fix it. If you don’t want to fix it, if he doesn’t want to protect his communities, President Trump and ICE will,” he continued.

That led Hannity to ask: “So you will be going into Colorado, Illinois, New York, California, and you are going to you are going to uphold the law of the land. That’s your commitment. It doesn’t matter what these elected politicians threaten or say that they are going to do?”

Homan was adamant: “We’re going to enforce the law, period, and they’re not going to stop us.”
