Them: I can’t post this online because it’s not quite public yet, but government officials had a town meeting with all of the residents of chimney rock and basically told them the town was being bulldozed, bodies and all and the land was being seized by the federal government they would not be able to move back and basically their homes the ones that were standing were no longer theirs and the federal government owned it all. I don’t know what crazy play for land this is, but there’s a lot of conspiracy about lithium mines and let me just tell you, as someone who lives in Charlotte and has friends who live in the area of Western North Carolina, they are not being helped and this is actually being a stand down operation by federal government

They had a town meeting yesterday and someone from the federal government told them all of those things in the town meeting, but doesn’t want the information getting out. Also, they are not picking up the bodies. The stench of the bodies everywhere is insane and for some reason, the government does not want to pick up the bodies. One pastor of a local church was going to order to door delivering water and they changed their delivery request to body bags because so many of the homes that they’ve gone to have needed body bags, we’re trying to keep the body count. They’re not picking up the bodies. They don’t wanna identify the bodies and they’re just leaving them to rot in the streets.

Additional information about recovery efforts:

The FAA has embedded personnel at North Carolina’s Emergency Operations Center (EOC) to assist with airspace coordination, ensuring the safety of flight and priority access for emergency services.

Many of the airports in the area are non-towered and pilots should use extreme caution when flying in the area. For the Asheville Regional Airport (AVL), general aviation pilots should not try to land without prior clearance from FEMA to ensure the safety of aircraft and personnel. Follow the airport's Facebook page for updates.

The North Carolina Department of Transportation - Division of Aviation has stated that Asheville Regional Airport, Hickory Regional Airport and Foothills Regional Airport are hubs of Helene activity and for general aviation pilots. Please check for any flight restrictions before operating there.

The volume of activity in the traffic patterns and ramp areas of these airports is very high due to a combination of fixed-wing, helicopter and drone operators. Please exercise extreme caution and always follow right-of-way rules due to the possible space constraints. For a review of procedures and operations at non-towered airports, please review FAA Advisory Circular 90-66B, Non-Towered Airport Flight Operations.

Pilots should exercise extreme caution in eastern Tennessee due to numerous flight operations engaged in post Hurricane Helene disaster response and recovery efforts.

Pilots planning to make a supply drop are encouraged to first coordinate with local community-based organizations that understand the airports’ ability and capacity to receive airdrops.

Also consider tankering fuel through impacted airports to reduce the demand for fuel at these locations.

If you are flying a drone to support recovery efforts, ensure you are flying under Part 107 or the statutory requirements for public aircraft. Crewed aircraft always have the right-of-way and most likely will not see your drone. Mountainous terrain makes see-and-avoid even harder.

If you are a helicopter pilot, consider a safety refresher by watching a rotorcraft collective video on YouTube, including this video on sharing low-altitude airspace with drones.

Nearly 20,000 migrants illegally crossed the border from Canada into the Swanton Border Patrol Sector. Officials report this is more than the prior 17 years combined.

In FY2020, President Donald Trump’s last full year in office, only 574 migrants crossed into the Swanton Sector’s area of operation in Eastern New York, Vermont, and New Hampshire, according to a social media post by Swanton Sector Chief Patrol Agent Robert Garcia. By FY22, that number nearly doubled to 574. From there, the numbers skyrocketed to 6,925 in FY23 and 19,222 in FY24

Chief Garcia reported the nearly 20,000 migrants encountered in the Swanton Sector in the recently ended FY24 came from 97 countries.

Apprehensions peaked in June when Swanton Sector agents apprehended 3,310 migrants. According to the CBP Nationwide Encounters report, the number fell to 2,751 in July, 2,198 in August, and approximately 1,412 in September.

U.S. Border Patrol Chief Jason Owens praised the Swanton Sector agents for reducing encounters by 50 percent from June to September. He did not explain as to what the Border Patrol did to reduce the record-shattering apprehension numbers.

U.S. Customs and Border Protection officials have repeatedly refused Breitbart’s requests to interview Chief Owens or Chief Garcia regarding the cause of the sudden spike that began in mid-FY21 and why the trend reversed during the last quarter of FY24. The agency has also not released migrant got-away numbers for the Swanton Sector.

Border Patrol officials previously told Breitbart Texas that most migrants crossing from Canada into the Swanton Sector are not looking to surrender. Rather, agents must track down and rely on community tips to find the migrants attempting to sneak into the U.S. interior.

In June, Chief Garcia reported that agents apprehended migrants from 85 different countries this fiscal year, Breitbart Texas reported.
