Russian Armed Forces Reportedly Capture British Mercenary Inside Russia’s Kursk Region

The Russian armed forces have reportedly captured a British mercenary in the Kursk Region.

The captured individual was identified as 22-year-old James Scott Rhys Anderson.

According to a reliable security source speaking to Sputnik, a Russian state-owned news agency, Anderson, a self-proclaimed British national, is currently under interrogation.

A video of Anderson’s interrogation, released on Sunday by the Telegram channel Troika, provides a glimpse into the young mercenary’s background and motivations.

During the interrogation, Anderson claimed that he had previously served in the 22nd Signal Regiment of the UK armed forces from 2019 to 2023.

Following his departure from the military, he purportedly sought to join the Ukrainian Foreign Legion due to financial and personal challenges.

In the video, Anderson revealed that his decision to become a mercenary was influenced by his father’s incarceration and subsequent financial hardships, which led him to a point where he felt he had “lost everything.”

Reflecting on his actions, the British national admitted that his choice to join the ranks of mercenaries was a “stupid idea.”

Alternative Energy Crowd Gets Desperate After ‘Wind Drought’ Refuses to Lift

Conservatives, by temperament, tend to embrace most things traditional, particularly when those traditions carry the added charm of quaintness.

When it comes to our energy needs, however, most conservatives — indeed, most modern people in general — prefer reliability.

Thursday, on the social media platform X, in a post that went mega-viral, Mark W. Nelson, founder & Managing Director of Radiant Energy Group, noted “panic” among German utility executives following a “shocking 12-day wind drought.”

Nelson, who holds an M.Phil in Nuclear Engineering from Cambridge University, described the situation as “coming to a breaking point.”

The post featured a screenshot of a “desperate plea” from Dr. Markus Krebber, CEO of the European energy corporation RWE AG.

“At the beginning of this month, Germany’s power supply reached its limits,” Krebber wrote on LinkedIn.

Citing Nov. 6 as an example, Krebber bemoaned extreme high energy prices and “shortage of supply.” He also warned that the “same situation would not have been manageable on another day with a higher peak load.”

In other words, Europe’s over-reliance on wind power means that when wind speeds slow, energy producers sometimes cannot meet demand.

By Monday morning, Nelson’s post had nearly 41 million views on X according to public metrics.

According to the UK’s The Telegraph, diminished wind power generation coincides with what Germans call “Dunkelflaute,” or “dark wind lull.”

During periods when high-pressure weather systems result in reduced wind speeds, wind turbines naturally produce little-to-no energy.

This state of affairs suppressed energy supply and raised prices in the UK, Germany and elsewhere in northern Europe earlier this month.

Of course, British government officials have learned all the wrong lessons from “Dunkelflaute.”

For instance, Chris Stark, appointed in July to head the government’s new clean energy-focused Mission Control, doubled down on renewables.

“Even small amounts of low-carbon flex can displace a lot of gas. We’ll also need to support the build of a lot of new renewable generation – of all types, but especially offshore wind,” Stark said on Nov. 5.

Historians who immerse themselves in centuries-old correspondence eventually make an interesting discovery.

In short, our ancestors often wrote wonderful letters while sitting in a port town and waiting for favorable winds. They could not board ships and set sail until the weather cooperated. And sometimes that took weeks. Thus, in many cases, they made the most of their frequent downtime by putting quill to parchment.

There is, of course, something charming about a world so unhurried.

That does not mean, however, that virtue-signaling government officials should subject modern people to the vicissitudes of “Dunkelflaute.”

Trump’s Tariff Plan Has No Exemption for Oil Imports

Nov 26 (Reuters) – U.S. President-elect Donald Trump does not intend to spare crude oil from his planned 25% import tariffs on Canada and Mexico, sources told Reuters on Tuesday, as the oil industry warned the policy could hurt consumers, industry and national security.

Canada and Mexico are the top sources of U.S. crude oil imports, together accounting for around a quarter of the oil U.S. refiners process into fuels like gasoline and heating oil, according to the U.S. Department of Energy.

The U.S. and Canadian oil industries had been optimistic that Trump’s broad plans for protectionist trade measures would spare oil imports because many U.S. refineries rely on the two countries and have equipment designed to process their oil types.

Two sources familiar with Trump’s plans said that oil would not be exempted from the plan. They asked not to be named due to the sensitivity of the issue.

America’s top oil trade groups, meanwhile, said imposing the tariffs would be a mistake – exposing a rare moment of discord between the industry and Trump.

“Across-the-board trade policies that could inflate the cost of imports, reduce accessible supplies of oil feedstocks and products, or provoke retaliatory tariffs have potential to impact consumers and undercut our advantage as the world’s leading maker of liquid fuels,” said a spokesperson for the American Fuel and Petrochemical Manufacturers group, which represents oil refiners.

The AFPM said its industries would “continue urging officials to veer clear of any policies that could disrupt America’s energy advantage.”

The American Petroleum Institute, meanwhile, said in response to a question about the threatened tariffs that keeping up the trade of energy across borders is important.

“Canada and Mexico are our top energy trading partners, and maintaining the free flow of energy products across our borders is critical for North American energy security and U.S. consumers,” said API spokesperson Scott Lauermann.

Oil industry analysts and traders also warned the move would likely raise oil prices for U.S. refiners, squeezing margins and driving up the cost of fuel.

The U.S. imported about 5.2 million barrels of crude and petroleum products per day (bpd) from Canada and Mexico in 2024, with more than 4 million of that from Canada, data from U.S. government’s statistical arm showed.

The biggest impact would come from the levies on Canadian crude oil, which is an important source of supply to refineries in the U.S. Midwest.

“The Midwest will have to deal with higher gasoline prices as it will be difficult to replace the Canadian crude that they are using currently,” ship tracking firm Vortexa analyst Rohit Rathod said.

“Applying tariffs on over 4 million barrels per day of crude from your leading supplier seems self-destructive,” said Matt Smith, an analyst at ship tracking service Kpler.

U.S. refiners have a capacity to process more than 18 million bpd of crude oil in total, but often run at lower rates due to maintenance and other issues.

While the U.S. is the world’s top oil producer, with output at a record 13.5 million bpd of crude, much of it is light in density and not compatible with domestic refineries that are largely configured to refine heavy crude like Canadian and Mexican oil.

Converting units to run lighter crudes economically would require investing in new equipment.

Asked about the inclusion of oil imports, the Trump transition team noted that tariffs against China created jobs, spurred investment and resulted in no inflation.

“President Trump will work quickly to fix and restore an economy that puts American workers first by re-shoring American jobs, lowering inflation, raising real wages, lowering taxes, cutting regulations, and unshackling American energy,” said Trump transition spokeswoman Karoline Leavitt.

As he doubles down on Ukraine warmongering while pushing for assisted suicide legislation. A horror.

So much so that millions of citizens have signed a petition calling for general election.

Now, another ‘minor’ scandal ecloses on Starmer’s lap, as British Transport Minister Louise Haigh resigned today (29) over a decade-old fraud conviction.

Associated Press reported:

“In a letter to Prime Minister Keir Starmer, Haigh said, “I remain totally committed to our political project, but I now believe it will be best served by my supporting you from outside government.

‘I appreciate that whatever the facts of the matter, this issue will inevitably be a distraction from delivering on the work of this government and the policies to which we are both committed’, she wrote.”

Haigh’s resignation came right after Sky News and The Times newspaper reported that Haigh had been charged with fraud over a decade ago.

She had reported a work cellphone stolen after getting mugged, but later said she had ‘mistakenly listed it among the stolen items’.

“After she found the phone and switched it back on, she was called in for questioning by police. Haigh pleaded guilty to fraud by misrepresentation and was given a conditional discharge.

In a statement before her resignation, Haigh said that ‘under the advice of my solicitor I pleaded guilty -– despite the fact this was a genuine mistake from which I did not make any gain. The magistrates accepted all of these arguments and gave me the lowest possible outcome (a discharge) available’.”

Haigh has been an MP for Sheffield, northern England, in Parliament since 2015, and named for Transport Minister after Starmer was elected in July.

Starmer appointed Heidi Alexander, former London transport system overseer, in Haigh’s place.

Europe's Gas Storage Empties At Fastest Rate Since 2016

Europe’s gas inventories have depleted at the fastest rate for eight years, as the region has experienced repeated bouts of colder-than-normal temperatures and low wind speeds since the start of the winter heating season.

Combined inventories in underground storage across the European Union and the United Kingdom dropped by 83 terawatt-hours (TWh) between the official start of winter on October 1 and November 26.

Stocks have fallen more than four times faster than the average over the last ten years, and by the most for any year since 2016, according to data from operators compiled by Gas Infrastructure Europe (GIE).

Inventories were still 58 TWh (+6% or +0.55 standard deviations) above the prior ten-year seasonal average on November 26, but the surplus had narrowed from 122 TWh (+13% or +1.38 standard deviations) at the start of winter.

Storage facilities across the region were 87% full on average, sharply lower than 97% on the same date in 2023 and 94% in 2022.

Northwest Europe has experienced a colder start to the winter this year, after exceptionally mild winters in 2023/24 and 2022/23, which has boosted heating demand.

With the heating season now approaching the 20% mark, Frankfurt has experienced 377 heating degree days, close to the average for the last ten years, but many more than in 2023 (303) and 2022 (345).

London has so far shivered through 327 heating degree days, the coldest start to the winter for five years, and well above the number in 2023 (268) and 2022 (219).

While colder temperatures have boosted heating demand, wind speeds in the North Sea have been below normal, cutting generation from offshore wind farms and forcing more reliance on gas-fired units.

Based on inventory movements over the last decade, EU and UK stocks are currently on course to end the winter around 468 TWh (with a likely range from 293 TWh to 573 TWh).

The projected carryout is already much lower than the 532 TWh (with a likely range from 349 TWh to 718 TWh) when the winter began.

On this course, inventories will end the winter almost 30% below record carryouts at the end of winter 2023/24 and 2022/23.

TOUGHER REFILL SEASON

Stocks are still comfortable but can no longer be described as plentiful and prices have risen to discourage consumption and attract more liquefied natural gas (LNG) cargoes to the region.

Front-month futures prices on the Dutch Title Transfer Facility have averaged €44 per megawatt-hour so far in November up from €36 in September and just €26 in February.

After adjusting for inflation, front-month prices in November are in the 87th percentile for all months since 2010 up from the 43rd percentile in February, signalling the need to conserve stocks and attract more supply.

But the greatest futures price increases have been for deliveries after this winter ends, in the second and third quarters of 2025.

Because of the much bigger depletion this winter, traders anticipate Europe will need to buy much more gas to refill its storage facilities in the summer of 2025 than was the case in the summers of 2024 and 2023.

Futures prices for the summer of 2025 (April-September) have recently traded as much as €4 per megawatt-hour above those for the winter of 2025/26 (October-March).

The unusual backwardation is a sign traders expect Europe will have to pay more next summer to refill storage and ensure stocks are back to a comfortable level ahead of winter 2025/26.

Europe will have to attract more LNG cargoes away from the fast-growing gas markets in Asia next summer and that implies higher prices.

In most seasonal commodity markets, the biggest risk of shortages comes not from a single disruption but repeated disruptions in successive years.

Inventories are normally enough to absorb one unexpected supply disruption or demand shock but that will leave them depleted and poorly prepared in the event of a second disruption or shock.

Europe’s major challenge is what would happen if winter 2024/25 remains colder-than-normal and is followed by another cold winter in 2025/26. To minimise that risk, depleted inventories will have to rebuilt during the summer of 2025, and traders are already betting that will prove expensive as Europe competes for more gas with fast-growing economies in Asia.

Bill Gates Arla Project Adding Anti-Methane Compound To Cows’ Feed | Another Limb of The Fake Food Agenda | Silicon Dioxide, Propylene Glycol and 3-Nitrooxypropanol (“3-NOP”)

Arla has enlisted 30 farms to participate in trials of an additive to cattle feed that they claim will reduce methane gas emissions. As the safety of the product is as questionable as the dubious reasons for introducing it and the risk to humans is unknown there has quite rightly been a public backlash.

Aside from the health and environmental risks, as Dr. Lawrie highlights, this is just another instance of billionaires meddling with our food supplies. This should raise red flags for anyone who understands what, for example, Bill Gates’ aims are.

As part of its FarmAhead Customer Partnership initiative, Arla has joined forces with Morrisons, Tesco and Aldi to trial the use of Bovaer, a feed additive that reduces enteric methane emissions from cows on average by 27%. The project will also involve around 30 of Arla’s farmer owners.

As reported by The Grocer, the retailers made a joint statement on the trial and said it gave “the ability to address some of the climate challenges facing our food system.” However, Arla’s announcement has sparked a backlash from the public with some saying they will no longer shop at Morrisons, Tesco and Aldi.

Bill Gates has an unhealthy obsession with cows producing methane gas. His obsession is, of course, driven by how much money he can make out of his pandemic and climate scams. However, Newsweek reported that Bill Gates has not invested in Bovaer, he has invested in a similar bovine animal feed additive through Rumin8. Bovaer is a product developed by the Dutch company DSM-Firmenich.

Whether it is Gates, another oligarch or a large corporation attempting to corner the market and control the food supply through vaccines or feeds, the facts remain the same. There is nothing wrong with cows producing methane. On the contrary, as we noted in an article last year, methane from cattle is part of nature’s biogenic carbon cycle. Plants capture carbon dioxide (CO2) from the atmosphere, absorbing the carbon and releasing the oxygen, the carbon is converted into carbohydrates and consumed by the cow where it is digested and some of the carbon is belched from the cow as methane. After an average of 10 years, the methane is converted into CO2 and so the cycle continues.

Bovaer contains silicon dioxide, propylene glycol and 3-nitrooxypropanol (“3-NOP”). A report from the Food Standards Agency last year highlighted concerns about 3-NOP, stating that it “should be considered corrosive to the eyes, a skin irritant, and potentially harmful by inhalation” for humans handling the substance.

3-NOP may have adverse effects on the reproductive system, including decreased sperm counts and changes in testicular and epididymal weights. It may also alter rumen microbial communities as it changes the abundance of certain archaeal and bacterial genera.

Even though marketers may claim it is “safe and effective,” the risks to humans who ingest Bovaer-fed livestock products are unknown. If you want to avoid drinking milk or eating meat from Bovaer-fed cattle, a website called ‘Bovaer Free Farms’ has been started where farms are self-declaring themselves to be Bovaer-free.

The food industry is undergoing major meddling by billionaires and multi-national corporations and our food is changing. World Council for Health (“WCH”) recently wrote about Bovaer additives in animal feed. Well, there are also companies like Remilk leading the charge towards “animal-free” alternatives to traditional dairy. While these innovations are framed as breakthroughs in ethical consumption, this growing “fake food” trend has dangerous implications for both health and sovereignty.

With Bovaer designed to reduce cow farts by messing with their digestive system, Remilk, an Israeli startup, boasts that it can create dairy proteins without cows through a process that uses fermentation to produce proteins identical to those found in milk. Worryingly, this fake milk company has recently appointed executives from corporate monsters like Danone, PepsiCo, and Nestlé, to its board of directors.

This year, Canadian regulators gave Remilk the green light to market and sell their lab-grown, artificial “milk” product in Canada. There are troubling long-term implications of this “fake food” trend – especially considering the involvement of Bill Gates with his views on depopulation. Gates is a key investor in Remilk through his Breakthrough Energy Ventures fund. Thus, the deeper question remains: What is the true agenda behind this rapidly growing sector?

Gates’ investment in Remilk is not just a passive financial stake; it is part of a broader ideological commitment to using technology to reshape the world, including food systems. Through Breakthrough Energy Ventures, Gates has backed several companies focused on food tech, many of which advocate for lab-grown, synthetic foods. While proponents use “greenhouse gas” reduction as their argument in favour of these unnatural technologies, they may well serve a more insidious purpose – undermining traditional agriculture and facilitating the centralisation of food production under corporate control.

The involvement of Gates, whose “philanthropic” ventures serve his population control agenda as well as his bank balance, raises serious red flags. Gates openly advocates for the use of “innovative” technologies to manage global population growth. The push for synthetic, lab-grown food serves to further his ideological objectives – by consolidating power in the hands of a few, controlling what people eat, and pushing us toward a future dominated by genetically engineered foods and alternative proteins.

Moreover, Gates’ backing of the fake food industry ties into broader concerns about transhumanism, the belief in using advanced technology to change human beings to “transcend” natural characteristics. Through genetically modified organisms (“GMOs”) and bioengineering, the push to alter human genetics is being orchestrated not only through food but in the guise of “vaccines” and other drugs.

The long-term effects of consuming synthetic proteins are largely unknown.

Marketed as environmentally friendly and animal cruelty-free, the health risks associated with eating these lab-grown products foods are not well understood, and the potential for unforeseen consequences – whether in human digestion, long-term health, or the biodiversity of our food systems – is high.

On the surface, these innovations may appear to offer solutions to social and environmental challenges. However, beneath the surface, they represent a dangerous convergence of corporate interests, technological control, and ideological agendas. As this trend accelerates, it is essential that we critically examine who is driving these changes, and why. Overcoming indifference is key. It is time to get active and withdraw our support of multinational corporations; it is time to support local food producers.

PANIC IN BRUSSELS: Alternative for Germany (AfD) Defends Germany’s Exit From the European Union, Leaving the Euro and Establishing a National Currency in Its Election Program

2024 may well come to be known as the year that the European Union started to crumble apart.

Brexit was just the start, as more countries are facing existential challenges because of Brussels’ crippling Globalist policies and wondering if leaving the EU isn’t the best option.

Now it arises that the upsurging rightwing party Alternative for Germany (AfD) has fully re-embraced its anti-European course in the final draft of its election program.

According to the German magazine SPIEGEL, the program paper states that the party has agreed on Germany’s exit from the European Union and the euro system.

Der Spiegel reported:

“’We consider it necessary for Germany to leave the European Union and establish a new European community’, the paper says. The EU is to be replaced by an ‘economic and interest community (WIG)’. To this end, there should be a referendum on an ‘adaptation of the European articles of the Basic Law’.”

The party foresees a transition period from the EU to the new TIG, negotiated by the old EU partner states and new interested parties.

“It goes on to say that Germany must ‘leave the euro system’ and introduce a stable national currency, ‘if necessary while retaining the euro in parallel’. This, too, will ‘not take place without conversion burdens’. However, these are lower than ‘the permanent costs of remaining in the euro system’.”

The AfD had moved away from a possible “Dexit”, and even leader Alice Weidel was said to instead want to work for a reform of the EU.

“The AfD draft contains further radical program points: Abortions are to ‘remain the absolute exception’ and are only allowed ‘in cases of criminological or medical indication’. The party estimates the number of abortions reported annually in Germany to be far too high. Instead, the AfD wants to adapt the mandatory counseling sessions before an abortion: ‘During pregnancy conflict counseling, mothers should be shown ultrasound images of the child so that they are aware of the child’s developmental stage’, the draft says.”

The AfD will also withdraw the gender self-determination law passed by Olaf Scholz’s coalition, which allows people who identify as ‘trans’ to change their gender and name on their identity card.

The use of puberty blockers used for ‘gender change’ in adolescents will be banned.

“The AfD is also striving for an economic policy based on a ‘market economy, national responsibility and friendly cooperation between European states’. For the party, this initially includes leaving the eurozone. At the same time, the AfD wants to hold on to cash as a ‘civil liberty’ [tool]. Which currency the AfD wants to introduce after leaving the eurozone remains open. However, she has words of praise for Bitcoin. This should be further deregulated, it is said.”

The draft mentions Russia as a ‘supplier of cheap gas’, and says that trade will be resumed. And Ukraine? A neutral state ‘outside the EU and NATO’.

In an apparent confirmation of what many derided as a “conspiracy theory”, the notion of a “Great Replacement” agenda, Prime Minister Starmer said that previous Tory governments “deliberately” decided to liberalise immigration following Brexit to “turn Britain into a one-nation experiment in open borders.”

“This happened by design, not accident. Policies were reformed… Global Britain – remember that slogan… That is what they meant. A policy with no support… Well that’s unforgivable,” he said.

While the prime minister was correct in noting that the so-called Conservative governments of Boris Johnson and Rishi Sunak allowed in unprecedented levels of immigration following Brexit — by refusing to put an annual cap on immigration resulting in nearly one million migrants arriving last year, alone — the open borders agenda imposed on the country pre-dates Tory rule.

Indeed, prior to the Labour government of former PM Tony Blair, the UK had net migration in the tens of thousands, however, under Blair this began to soar into the hundreds of thousands per year. In 2009, former Blair advisor Andrew Neather claimed that this was a deliberate policy to transform Britain into a multicultural society and to “rub the right’s nose in diversity.”

The mass migration policies of both Labour and Conservative governments have had a radical impact on the demographic make up of the UK, with the 2021 census finding that less than three quarters (74.4 per cent) of the population identify as a member of indigenous ethnic groups of the British Isles (English, Welsh, Scottish, Northern Irish, or British). This is compared to 80 per cent in 2011 and 87.5 per cent in 2001.

Associate research fellow at Birkbeck, University of London and a senior member at St Antony’s College, Oxford, Dr Paul Morland warned this week that if the political class fails to reverse course, the native white British population could become a minority in their own country by 2050.

Dr Morland, who has been described as the UK’s leading demographer, said that since the Blair administration, the UK has seen “more immigration than we had in the whole period from the Norman Conquest to the Second World War.”

He said that if the government continues on the same course, people in the country 30 years ago were overwhelmingly the descendants of people here a thousand years ago, that’s not going to be the case in the middle of the century.” However, Dr Morland argued that “nothing is predetermined”, pointing to the example of former British colony Singapore, which strictly controls immigration.

“It’s a choice, what do we as a country want and does that manage to get expressed and implemented by our politicians. It seems quite clear to me that those two are not the same, the country wants one thing and the politicians are not prepared to follow,” he said.

Noting the “related” issue of declining birth rates, the top demographer said that cutting immigration must be accompanied with pro-natalist policies to encourage the native population have more children to mitigate the financial impacts of a declining population. Morland has previously pointed to policies implemented by the populist-conservative government of Viktor Orbán in Hungary, such as tax and other incentives for mothers, as a potential framework.

While Prime Minister Starmer committed this week to increasing economic opportunities for young people and reforming the immigration system, his government has refused to commit to an annual cap on immigration, which critics have argued is necessary to stem the massive influx of foreigners into the country.

Commentators on social media asserted that Starmer’s comments were an implicit admission of the much-derided “Great Replacement Theory”. Although often portrayed as a “racist” conspiracy theory, the concept, developed by French Renaud Camus, argues that the real aim of mass migration policies are motivated by economics, with leaders seeing their populations as little more than interchangeable cogs who can be changed out with little consequence to bolster GDP.

Speaking to Breitbart News in 2018, Camus said that globalist forces, such as those involved with the Davos-based World Economic Forum, support “the change of people and civilisation for the sake of the industry of man, the economic system which produces the Undifferentiated Human Matter, the human Nutella, spreadable at will.”

Health experts have warned a so-called 'quintupledemic', which could see the UK being hit by five simultaneous waves of diseases, could strike before the end of the year.

Dr Joseph Ambani claims it is a real possibility that flu, RSV, Covid, Norovirus and mpox could converge at the same time and put a huge strain on the NHS over the festive period.

He also emphasised the potential toll it will have on people over Christmas. "The human impact of such a scenario cannot be overstated," he explained. "Imagine hospitals stretched thin, families cancelling festive plans due to illness, and caregivers juggling the overlapping demands of multiple infections."

Echoing these sentiments, Dr Bruno Silvester Lopes of Teesside University warned of the reality of facing increased cases of norovirus, mpox, COVID-19, RSV, and influenza at the same time during winter, reports the Mirror.

He explained: "The concept of a 'quintupledemic' may sound dramatic. However, it's a realistic concern in a winter where Norovirus, mpox, Covid-19, RSV, and flu could circulate simultaneously.

He continued: "Public health awareness, robust surveillance, and individual vigilance are essential in preparing and addressing these outbreaks effectively."

It comes after an identification of a fifth case of Clade 1b mpox in Leeds, which differs from the cases identified in London. With the situation evolving, the UKHSA's chief medical adviser Susan Hopkins addressed public concerns by saying: "It is thanks to clinicians rapidly recognising the symptoms and our diagnostics tests that we have been able to detect this new case.

"The risk to the UK population remains low following this fifth case, and we are working rapidly to trace close contacts and reduce the risk of any potential spread."

The NHS lists typical symptoms of mpox, including a rash, fever, headache, muscle aches, backache, swollen glands, shivering exhaustion and joint pain, with the rash usually showing up one to five days after the first signs appear.

AN illegal immigrant already deported five times has been found living in the UK again.

Lithuanian Audrius Verkauskas was first removed in November 2015.

But he has continued to return and was also deported in February 2019, June 2021, May 2022 and August last year.

Police arrested him for unrelated matters in April in Peterborough — and then discovered he was in breach of his deportation.

Verkauskas, 44, was this week jailed for two years at the city’s crown court after pleading guilty to immigration charges.

He will be deported for a sixth time once he has served his sentence.

PC Tom Todd from Cambridgeshire Police said: “I hope this case sends out a strong message that people found to be in breach of deportation orders will be found eventually.

“Verkauskas knew full well he was illegally in Britain and had flouted the order multiple times so it is not surprising he has been handed a jail term.”

In October, The Sun revealed more illegal migrants were in Britain than any other European nation.

Researchers believes as many as 745,000 were still here — enough to rival the population of Leeds.

The number was equivalent to one in 100 of the entire UK population and more than ­double the 300,000 in France.

It is also ahead of the highest estimate for Germany, which at 700,000 has the second-largest illegal population.

The landmark research was compiled by 18 institutions, including Oxford University’s Compas migration study centre.

Study chiefs estimated the number of illegal migrants in Britain as between 594,000 and 745,000.

Up to 4,000 pensioners will die this winter. This is the single biggest attack on pensioners in a generation.

These are not my words, these are the words of the Labour Party in a report published in 2017 that discusses what will happen if the government cuts the Winter Fuel Allowance for those not on benefits.

Despite this, Keir Starmer and the Labour Party have decided to cut the Winter Fuel Allowance, meaning more than 9 million pensioners will lose out on payment, and only those on Pension Credit will now be able to claim it.

That means any pensioner who earns more than £11,343.80 a year may now have to choose between heating and eating.

Indeed, more than 40,000 pensioners who are terminally ill will lose the winter fuel payment according to the Telegraph, and the Winter Fuel Payment cut will put 50,000 pensioners into poverty next year according to the BBC.

An analysis by Policy in Practice suggests about 130,000 people will miss out on the Winter Fuel Payment because they are just £500 a year or less over the threshold.

We believe that not a single person in the UK in 2024 should die because of the cold.

We are calling on the government to raise the threshold for receiving the Winter Fuel Payment to at least £20,000 a year. Pensioners have worked and contributed to the system their entire lives, it is only right that we look after them and allow them to live their final years in peace and with dignity.

With the fourth named storm of the winter about to blast in from the Atlantic, new figures have revealed how much two previous gales will cost energy bill payers across the UK.

Wind farm operators are given 'constraint payments' to switch off their turbines when the wind is blowing too powerfully, to stop the grid from becoming overloaded. Ultimately, the cost is passed on to consumers through their bills.

For Storms Ashley and Bert, a staggering £26.3million was received by energy firms – and the vast majority of that sum relates to wind farms in Scotland. This is due to the long-running problem of getting renewable energy from remote hillsides north of the Border to the conurbations of England and Wales.

Meteorologists described Ashley as a 'weather bomb' and it caused widespread damage and transport chaos across Scotland and much of the rest of the UK back in October.

Storm Bert barrelled in from the Atlantic around four weeks later and left at least five dead across Britain, including a man while walking his dog in North Wales. Grandfather Brian Perry, 75, was described as "much-loved".

A man in his 60s died after a tree fell on a car in Hampshire, while a man in his 80s has died after his car entered flood waters in Lancashire. At least two more people died in car accidents.

Conall was named by the Dutch Met Office and the main impacts were felt in the Netherlands, although the weather system did bring further flooding to southern England already reeling from Bert.

Costly constraints

Storm Ashley (October 20-21): Total constraints £11,727,794 (Scottish wind farms £11,687,592)

Storm Bert (November 22-25): Total constraints £14,569,466 (Scottish wind farms £14,567,057)

Storm Conall (November 26): Total constraints - £489,639 (Scottish wind farms £484,762)

The Scottish Express calculated the totals using figures supplied by the UK charity, Renewable Energy Foundation (REF). They also show that 2024 is ALREADY a record year for constraint payments, with £342.1m paid out so far. Of that record total, £328.9m relates to Scottish wind farms.

It remains to be seen how much Storm Darragh will cost, with two rare amber warnings for high winds put in place by the Met Office over an 18-hour period this weekend for much of western British Isles including Glasgow.

Dr John Constable, director of the REF, said: “Electricity systems with large shares of uncontrollable generation like wind are unavoidably expensive to run, but they don’t have to be this expensive. Action from the regulator Ofgem is long overdue.

“The prices demanded to reduce generation are clearly excessive, and as Bloomberg demonstrated in February there is clear evidence that wind output forecasts are so inaccurate, particularly during storms, that wind farms are sometimes paid to reduce output that would not have been generated in any case.”

Industry body Scottish Renewables has said demand for energy continued to soar with chief executive Claire Mack adding: "A modern electricity network capable of delivering renewable energy to consumers, as well as investment in large scale, long duration energy storage solutions, such as pumped storage hydro, will be the best way to balance supply and demand within the UK’s energy system and minimise the cost of constraint payments.

"These costs have increased in recent years so the quicker we build more electricity transmission infrastructure, like the Eastern Green Link, the quicker we will reduce constraint payments while connecting more renewable energy to UK consumers, creating jobs and bringing investment to Scotland."

Puberty blockers for trans youths are banned indefinitely in the United Kingdom after a review found an unacceptable safety risk

The British government has banned the use of puberty blockers for children because they pose “an unacceptable safety risk’’.

Existing emergency measures banning the sale and supply of ­puberty-suppressing hormones will be made indefinite, following advice from medical experts, Health Secretary Wes Streeting announced on Wednesday (Thursday AEDT).

The ban will apply to England, Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales and also makes it an offence for doctors outside of the UK to prescribe the blockers for British children suffering gender dysphoria.

Mr Streeting said he was listening to “clinicians, not politicians” and declared it a scandal that such drugs had been given to trans youths without proof they were safe or effective.

“Trans people feel unsafe, unrecognised and unheard and that must change,” he told the House of Commons.

“The (puberty blocker) medicine has been provided on grounds of insufficient evidence, and young people go without the care and support they need.

“That evidence should have been established before being prescribed for this purpose. It is a scandal such medicine (has been) given to vulnerable young children without proof it is safe, effective or through rigorous safe­guards of a clinical trial.”

Some fellow Labour MPs claimed his decision was discriminatory, but the decision was widely lauded among prominent gender-critical voices.

Feminist campaigner Helen Joyce said on X that Mr Streeting not only stood firm on the temporary ban on puberty blockers he inherited from the previous government, but he carefully closed loopholes and has now made it indefinite. “This despite a sustained campaign of lies and emotional blackmail,’’ she said.

She hailed the move as another step towards puberty blockers being relegated to “a shameful chapter of history”, in which parents and health professionals were emotionally blackmailed into harming children in the name of progress.

Author JK Rowling said: “Only one gay rights group had the courage to campaign against the use of puberty blockers for gender-confused children: @AllianceLGB. They fought for the right of gender-questioning kids to grow up with their bodies and fertility intact. Blockers have now been banned in the UK.”

The government’s indefinite ban comes after a targeted review was carried out in the past few months by the Commission on Human Medicines which found the drugs posed an unacceptable safety risk in the continued prescription of puberty blockers to children.

The puberty blockers had been previously given to children who were questioning their gender but a temporary ban had been implemented in the wake of the explosive Cass Review which led to the closure of the controversial Tavistock Clinic.

Dr Hilary Cass said there was remarkably weak evidence to support the use of puberty blockers in children with gender dysphoria. She said allowing the blockers “may change the trajectory of psychosexual and gender identity development”.

The Mayo Clinic says the use of puberty blockers, known as gonadotrophin-releasing hormone analogues (GRHa), has been linked to reduced bone density, fertility issues, mood swings and in males cannot only impact on facial hair and reducing voice deepening, it can limit the growth of the penis, scrotum and testicles.

The blockers stop puberty by impacting the release of hormones from the pituitary gland. For females, it induces a menopause-like state, stopping menstruation and limiting breast development.

Patients may then consider gender-affirming hormone therapy causing some permanent changes that cannot be reversed.

Mr Streeting said the CHM was an independent body made up of leading clinicians and epidemiologists which advises on medicine safety.

“They took evidence directly from clinical experts, consultant pediatric endocrinologists and patient representatives, including representatives of trans people, young people and their families.

“They have concluded that prescribing puberty blockers to children for the purposes of gender dysphoria in the current prescribing environment represents, and I quote, ‘an unacceptable safety risk’,” he said.

Ex-BBC journalist jailed for child sex offences

A former BBC journalist has been jailed for eight years for a string of child sexual abuse offences.

Duncan Bartlett, 52, was jailed at Wood Green Crown Court in north London after admitting paying money to watch live streams of children being sexually exploited.

He had pleaded guilty to 35 offences at an earlier hearing on 30 August.

The Metropolitan Police said detectives seized electronic devices from Bartlett and recovered nearly 6,000 indecent images of children.

They also found evidence he made payments to people in the Philippines who would arrange live films of children being sexually exploited for Bartlett to watch.

Bartlett - who worked as a BBC journalist for 14 years until 2015 – was arrested in September 2021.

He spent time as a correspondent in Tokyo and presented "World Business Report" on the BBC World Service.

Bartlett, from central London, continued working as a researcher and expert in China at London's SOAS university until after his guilty plea.

He appears not to have told his employer about his offending and the university did not discover the details of the case until today.

A spokeswoman for SOAS confirmed Bartlett was a research associate and contractor at the London university's China Institute between 1 January 2021 and 30 September 2024.

She said: "Although not a permanent member of staff or in a student-facing role, he was paid as a contractor to produce a series of podcasts about China, producing his last edition in September 2024.

"Neither SOAS nor the SOAS China Institute were aware of any legal proceedings before we were contacted by the media about this case today."

Just when King Charles was trying to make peace and end the rift with his younger brother, disgraced Prince Andrew, yet another scandal blows up in the Royal Family’s face.

Buckingham Palace is reportedly investigating visits made by an alleged Chinese spy to royal residences – at the invitation of the Duke of York.

The Chinese businessman, identified by the British Justice only as H6, was invited to events at Buckingham palace, St James’s Palace and Windsor Castle.

All the facts surrounding the espionage scandal came to light after a court heard that the Chinese individual, who was described as a ‘close confidant’ to Andrew, is banned from the UK on national security grounds.

The Telegraph reported:

“Buckingham Palace is understood to be investigating the various occasions when H6 entered royal residences, to ascertain with whom he may have had contact.

[…] H6 was allegedly invited into Buckingham Palace twice and also attended a function at St James’s Palace and an event at Windsor Castle.”

This comes after UK’s MI5 have been revealed to also be investigating money given to the Andrew’s business venture by Chinese donors with alleged links to H6.

Many link that to the fact that it is not known how the Duke is paying for the upkeep of the 30-bedroom Royal Lodge.

The King has been informed of the investigations and allegations before they became public.

The Chinese businessman brought a recourse to the Special Immigration Appeals Commission after then

Home Secretary Suella Braverman said he should be excluded from the UK back in March 2023.

“Judges were told that in a briefing for Mrs. Braverman in July last year, officials claimed the man had been in a position to generate relationships between prominent UK figures and senior Chinese officials ‘that could be leveraged for political interference purposes’.”

Royal commentator Kinsey Schofield said Andrew is a ‘liability’ to both the monarchy and the British Government, and the situation is ‘a major headache for the King’.

“The royal expert emphasized that Prince Andrew ‘continues to be a liability to the monarchy, but potentially now to the Government’.”

Representatives for Andrew said he has ‘followed advice from HMG and ceased all contact with the individual after concerns were raised’.

“They added: ‘The duke met the individual through official channels, with nothing of a sensitive nature ever discussed. He is unable to comment further on matters relating to national security’.”

According to Schofield, serious consequences may ensue for Prince Andrew’s position within the Royal Family.

“She claimed: ‘Under extreme circumstances, Prince Andrew’s title as the Duke of York could be removed by an Act of Parliament. […] ‘This is the newest addition that I think is rocking the royal-watching community, and maybe that is the next step here’.”

Royal Navy’s Last Cold War-Era Submarine Set for Decommissioning

The HMS Triumph, the last of the Trafalgar Class submarines built at the end of the Cold War, arrived in Plymouth, England ahead of her official decommissioning ceremony early in 2025. The Royal Navy nuclear-powered attack submarine had a distinguished career including on the frontline in the Afghanistan war and played a central role in the fall of Libya’s Muammar Gaddafi.

Designed to hunt out and destroy enemy submarines and surface ships, the Trafalgar Class gradually been adapted to perform other roles. Each of the submarines displaced 4,500 tonnes and had a length of 280 feet (85 meters). The Royal Navy reported a top speed of 30 knots.

Laid down in Barrow shipyard in 1987 and commissioned in 1991, Triumph was the 19th nuclear-powered boat built for the Royal Navy and the last of her class. She was built alongside her six sisters Talent, Trenchant, Torbay, Tireless, Turbulent, and Trafalgar, all of which preceded her in decommissioning.

Shortly after being commissioned, in 1993, Triumph demonstrated her capabilities traveling 41,000 miles submerged without support from the UK to Australia. At the time, it was the longest solo deployment ever undertaken by a Royal Navy nuclear-powered submarine.

Triumph participated in many front-line operations that took her around the globe. Among them was serving in the Afghanistan war in 2001 where along with Trafalgar she formed part of a task group that was part of the American-led invasion. During Operation Veritas, Triumph launched Tomahawk missiles at targets. The boat was also part of Operation Ellamy in Libya where she fired Tomahawk missiles as part of coalition cruise missile strikes designed to defeat Gaddafi’s air defense system.

In 2016, the boat was out of service for an extended period while undergoing extensive maintenance and equipment upgrades. It was part of what the Royal Navy called a transition to peacetime service.

Her decommissioning brings to an end a career spanning 34 years and an important part of the Royal Navy’s history. She departed the Clyde Naval Base in Scotland for the final time and was escorted by an array of vessels and onlookers from shore as she reached Plymouth Sound.

“Having spent many years serving in Trafalgar-class SSNs it is with both pride and sadness that I see these excellent submarines reach the end of their career,” said Rear Admiral Andy Perks, Royal Navy Director Submarine. “The last of the Cold War submarines, these vessels have helped keep our country safe for over 30 years.”

She was the 10th Royal Navy vessel to bear the name HMS Triumph. The first was a 680-gun galleon built in 1561 and was the largest built in England during the reign of Queen Elizabeth I.

The Trafalgar Class is being replaced by the Astute-class attack submarines. Highlighted as the largest, most advanced, and most powerful attack submarines ever operated by the Royal Navy, the massive new submarines are each 7,400 tonnes displacement and measure 318 feet (97 meters). The Astute fleet will eventually consist of seven boats. Five are currently in service while two additonal boats are under construction at BAE Systems in Barrow-in-Furness.

PANIC IN LONDON: British Pubs Fear They’re Running Out of Guinness, Begin Rationing Pints

Pubs in the UK fear that they may be running out of Guinness and in some cases are even rationing pints of the famous black beer.

If this keeps up, there really will be panic in the streets of London. The famous Irish brew is as popular in England as it is in Ireland. There is a constant demand for the product and anyone who has spent time in England can tell you that the English love their drink.

Luckily, the shortage has not been an issue in Ireland. If they ever started to run short of Guinness, it’d likely be an international incident.

Guinness stocks run dry as pubs forced to ration pints

Pubs across the UK are having to ration pints of Guinness amid a national shortage of the iconic Irish stout ahead of Christmas.

Establishments have been panic buying the beverage in the hope they don’t run dry over the festive period, as some say they have already run out of stock completely.

Pubs such as the Old Ivy House, in Clerkenwell, London, introduced rationing rules last week to preserve their stock – but still found themselves short of supply.

The landlady Katie Davidson told The Times that they had issued cards to customers allowing them to purchase one pint of the black stuff – but only once they had bought two other drinks first.

“I normally make sure I have seven barrels per week and I would up that in the run-up to Christmas,” she told the paper. “But I was restricted to only four [by our brewery]. So on Wednesday, when I got my order, we only had half a barrel left in the cellar at the busiest time of the year. And we’d run out by 10pm on Friday night.”

Nigel Farage flew to Mar-a-Lago, Florida, and has met with Elon Musk amid claims that the world’s richest man – and ‘first buddy’ to President-Elect Donald J. Trump – is poised to donate $100 million to Reform UK.

The meeting lasted for an hour, yesterday (16).

The meeting will fuel rumors that Mr. Musk, the Tesla boss and owner of X, is ready to plough some of his estimated $300billion fortune into the British political party.”

Musk has repeatedly torched leftist British PM Keir Starmer in recent months, and has shown interest in the rise of Reform.

“Speaking about their talks with Mr Musk in Florida, Mr Farage and Mr Candy said: ‘We had a great meeting with Elon Musk for an hour yesterday. We learned a great deal about the Trump ground game and will have ongoing discussions on other areas’.

[…] ‘We only have one more chance left to save the West and we can do great things together. Our thanks also to President Trump for allowing us to use Mar-a-Lago for this historic meeting. The special relationship is alive and well’.”

Reform’s treasurer Candy has committed to giving £1million of his own money to Reform, but is heading a push to raise ‘tens of millions more’ from other wealthy business figures.

Spain’s Navantia Rescues Historic Shipyard Harland & Wolff from the Brink

LONDON, Dec 19 (Reuters) – Spanish state-held shipbuilder Navantia will acquire the shipyards of Britain’s Harland & Wolff, the Belfast-based company best known for building the Titanic, the British government said on Thursday.

The government said in a statement the deal, which is subject to regulatory approval, would secure all four of Harland & Wolff’s shipyards – in Belfast, Arnish and Methil in Scotland, and Appledore in southwest England – and protect around 1,000 jobs.

“This investment is great news for Belfast, for the Northern Ireland economy and, above all, for Harland and Wolff’s hugely skilled shipbuilding workforce,” said Northern Ireland minister Hilary Benn.

In a separate statement, Navantia confirmed the deal and said it expects to complete it by the end of January.

Neither Navantia nor the British government disclosed the price the Spanish company will pay for the shipyards.

In September, Harland & Wolff called in administrators after failing to secure funding to run the business, as energy price rises and wage increases ate into profits and pushed up debt.

Trading in its shares on the London Stock Exchange was stopped in October and in July the British government declined the company’s request for a credit facility of 200 million pounds ($253 million).

Harland & Wolff, founded in 1861, signed a manufacturing subcontract with Navantia last year relating to the 1.6 billion pound-project to build support ships for Britain’s Royal Navy.

The government said the deal would ensure three ships to transport munitions, spares and supplies to UK aircraft carriers would be built and delivered.
