Connecticut Democrat Primary Election Scandal: Police Launch Investigation into Fraud After Video Evidence Uncovered of Town Clerk Dumping Multiple Illegal Absentee Ballots Into a Drop Box

Mayoral candidate John Gomes’ campaign released a damning video on Saturday showing evidence of election fraud in the recent Bridgeport Democratic primary. The video has prompted an investigation by the Bridgeport Police Department for “possible misconduct.”

The video on the Gomes campaign’s Facebook page shows a woman dropping stacks of ‘illegal’ ballots into an absentee ballot box outside the Bridgeport government center, where the city’s Registrar of Voters office is located, CT Mirror reported.

The Gomes campaign was able to identify the woman in the footage as Wanda Geter-Pataky, the Vice Chairwoman of the Democratic Town Clerk and a vocal supporter of incumbent Mayor Joe Ganim, who is seeking reelection. Gomes’ campaign claims that the video shows Geter-Pataky dropping off stacks of absentee ballots ahead of the September 12th primary.

“Video surveillance proving that the mayoral election was unequivocally stolen through corruption within City Hall by tampering with absentee ballots,” John Gomes said on his Facebook page.

Gomes lost to incumbent Mayor Joe Ganim in the Democratic primary by a narrow margin of 251 votes, according to the most recent preliminary count posted on the Secretary of the State’s website. Ganim won the absentee vote tally 1,545 to 779, while Gomes led on the voting machines.

The Bridgeport Police Department confirmed that they are actively investigating the actions shown in the video.

“The Bridgeport Police Department are actively investigating information regarding possible misconduct based upon a video that has surfaced on social media,” the department told CT Mirror.

The police department is investigating how the video was obtained and released to the public.

“The Bridgeport Police Department immediately initiated an investigation to determine if any criminal wrongdoing has occurred. In addition, an internal investigation is being conducted to determine if any possible breach to our security video management system has occurred,” it added.

Bridgeport Police Chief Roderick Porter said the department takes “these actions seriously and we will pursue possible criminal prosecution and/or administrative discipline as it relates to any such security violations.”

“Geter-Pataky, who the Gomes campaign alleges is the woman in the video, is one of three individuals the SEEC recommended for criminal charges following an investigation into complaints about absentee ballot handling in Ganim’s tight 2019 primary against Sen. Marilyn Moore,” according to CT Mirror.

The news outlet continued, “As a result, the Gomes campaign is alleging that the video is evidence of a string of absentee ballot fraud in the city.”

‘Prepare for long war’ – NATO chief

Jens Stoltenberg has said that the conflict in Ukraine will not end until Russia “lays down its weapons”

The West must prepare for “a long war” in Ukraine, NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg declared on Sunday. Despite claiming to want a “quick peace” in Ukraine, Stoltenberg insisted that he still supports President Vladimir Zelensky’s goal of a military victory over Russia.

“Most wars last longer than expected when they first begin,” Stoltenberg said in an interview with Germany’s Funke media group.“Therefore we must prepare ourselves for a long war in Ukraine.”

According to media reports over the last two months, Western officials and military planners have conceded that Ukraine’s ongoing counteroffensive against Russian forces is unlikely to succeed, leaving the front lines mostly unchanged as winter sets in.

According to Russian President Vladimir Putin, Ukraine has lost upwards of 71,000 men since the counteroffensive began in June. Despite this stark attrition rate – with some units losing 90% of their manpower, according to Ukrainian sources, Stoltenberg insisted that NATO will continue to push for a military, not a diplomatic, solution.

“We are all wishing for a quick peace,”Stoltenberg said. “But at the same time we must recognise: if President Zelensky and the Ukrainians stop fighting, their country will no longer exist. If President Putin and Russia lay down their weapons, we will have peace.”

After walking away from a Turkish-brokered peace deal last April, Zelensky issued a decree forbidding all negotiations with Russia. Furthermore, he has repeatedly vowed to retake the former Ukrainian regions of Donetsk, Lugansk, Kherson, and Zaporozhye, as well as Crimea, the latter of which voted overwhelmingly to join the Russian Federation in 2014.

Zelensky’s stance is backed by Washington, where officials have repeatedly insisted that only the Ukrainian president can decide when to seek peace. At the same time, US Secretary of State Antony Blinken has condemned Putin for supposedly rejecting “meaningful diplomacy.”

Russia maintains that it is open to a diplomatic solution to the conflict, but that any peace deal would have to take into account the “new territorial reality” – that Donetsk, Lugansk, Kherson, Zaporozhye, and Crimea will never be ceded back to Ukraine. Furthermore, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov has said negotiations would be held “not with Zelensky, who is a puppet in the hands of the West, but directly with his masters.”

(Russia will never lay down their arms, they have no reason to, and NATO knows this. What Stoltenberg fears most is NATO is dead if Russia is not the “proverbial enemy at the gate”! It’s dead anyway, just wait and see!)

Chechen leader dismisses media reports about poor health

People who cannot tell the truth from a lie should “take a walk and clear their heads,” Ramzan Kadyrov has said

The head of Russia’s Chechen Republic, Ramzan Kadyrov, published a video of himself walking in the rain on Sunday. Earlier this week, several Ukrainian and Western media outlets reported that he had been hospitalized due to a kidney disease and had “fallen into a coma.”

“I strongly advise anyone incapable of telling the truth from a lie on the internet to take a walk in the open and clear their heads,” the Chechen leader wrote in a Telegram post featuring a video of himself walking in the rain. “The rain is wonderfully invigorating,” he added.

On Friday, Ukrainian news outlet Obozrevatel claimed that Kadyrov “had fallen into a coma,”citing a spokesman for Ukraine’s military intelligence, Andrey Yusov, who claimed that the Chechen leader had seen his “existing illness worsened,” leading to a “serious condition.”

Yusov added that Ukrainian intelligence confirmed this information through “various sources in medical and political circles.”

The rumors were shared by Western media outlets, including the New York Post and the Washington Examiner. The Post went even further and claimed, citing a Kazakh journalist, that the Chechen leader could have been poisoned and had “serious kidney problems.”

Kadyrov has had to repeatedly dismiss rumors about his health. In March, similar rumors were sparked by a small device he was carrying, which turned out to be an electronic Muslim prayer counter, according to the Chechen leader.

“I am alive and kicking,” Kadyrov said at that time. “A doctor is needed for the authors of these fantasy theories,” he added.

Here's The Climate Dissent You're Not Hearing About Because It's Muffled By Society's Top Institutions

As the Biden administration and governments worldwide make massive commitments to rapidly decarbonize the global economy, the persistent effort to silence climate change skeptics is intensifying – and the critics keep pushing back.

This summer the International Monetary Fund summarily canceled a presentation by John Clauser, a Nobel Prize-winning physicist who publicly disavows the existence of a climate “crisis.” The head of the nonprofit with which Clauser is affiliated, the CO2 Coalition, has said he and other members have been delisted from LinkedIn for their dissident views.

Meanwhile, a top academic journal retracted published research doubting a climate emergency after negative coverage in legacy media. The move was decried by another prominent climate dissenter, Roger Pielke Jr., as “one of the most egregious failures of scientific publishing that I have seen” – criticism muffled because the academic says he has been blocked on Twitter (now X) by reporters on the climate beat.

The climate dissenters are pressing their case as President Biden, United Nations officials, and climate action advocates in media and academia argue that the “settled science” demands a wholesale societal transformation. That means halving U.S. carbon emissions by 2035 and achieving net zero emissions by 2050 to stave off the “existential threat” of human-induced climate change.

In response last month, more than 1,600 scientists, among them two Nobel physics laureates, Clauser and Ivar Giaever of Norway, signed a declaration stating that there is no climate emergency, and that climate advocacy has devolved into mass hysteria. The skeptics say the radical transformation of entire societies is marching forth without a full debate, based on dubious scientific claims amplified by knee-jerk journalism.

Many of these climate skeptics reject the optimistic scenarios of economic prosperity promised by advocates of a net-zero world order. They say the global emissions-reduction targets are not achievable on such an accelerated timetable without lowering living standards and unleashing worldwide political unrest.

“What advocates of climate action are trying to do is scare the bejesus out of the public so they’ll think we need to [act] fast,” said Steven Koonin, author of “Unsettled: What Climate Science Tells Us, What It Doesn’t, and Why It Matters.”

“You have to balance the certainties and uncertainties of the changing climate – the risks and hazards – against many other factors,” he adds.

Former Ambassadors Peter Hoekstra and Joseph Cella Call for Investigation into CCP-Linked Gotion

The Gateway Pundit reported that the State of Illinois is providing taxpayer funded incentives, of more than half a billion dollars, to lure a Communist China-tied company, Gotion, to build an electric vehicle (EV) battery factory in the state. Gotion will receive additional federal tax incentives.

On Friday, two former U.S. ambassadors called on the Treasury Department Friday to review Gotion according to the Daily Caller News Foundation:

Through the Michigan-China Economic and Security Review Group (MCESRG), former U.S. Ambassadors Peter Hoekstra and Joseph Cella called on the Treasury Department’s Committee on Foreign Investment in the United States (CFIUS) to compel Gotion, Inc., a subsidiary of China-based Gotion High-Tech, to file disclosure paperwork and submit to a full CFIUS review. Their request follows a Friday DCNF report which found that Gotion High-Tech established a joint venture company with a State Department-identified “Communist Chinese Military Company Subsidiary” in 2016, as well as several other DCNF investigations detailing Gotion, Inc.’s connections to the CCP via its parent company.

Gotion, Inc.’s previously-filed paperwork “provides narrow, de minimis, vague and incomplete information, and lacks the strict scrutiny and due diligence necessary for this massive and complex transaction that is shrouded by binding and punitive 5-year non-disclosure agreements,” Cella told the DCNF of Gotion, Inc.’s plan to build a facility in Michigan. “Many reasonably-thinking people consider Gotion to be evading CFIUS.”

Hockstra and Cella released the following statement:

This latest revelation points to Gotion’s parent company, Guoxuan High-Tech Company, Ltd., ties to a CCP military company, and further exposes how this ‘deal’ with the State of Michigan and other parties is corrupted from head to tail and a huge risk to our national security.

Following Gotion’s filing of Form 802, Guoxuan or Gotion did not receive a “safe harbor” letter from the Department of Treasury, and thus they both remain subject to CFIUS subsequently initiating a deep review of this transaction. Guoxuan, Gotion, and Mr. Chuck Thelen, the Vice President of North American Operations for Gotion, have engaged in a massive disinformation campaign to suggest all things otherwise.

Why are Governor Whitmer, the MED, and all parties to this “deal” forcing Michigan taxpayers to go all-in with them and this company with deep ties to the Chinese Communist Party and its military-industrial complex?

GOP Senators Cotton, Wicker, Collins, and Graham Urge Joe Biden to Send Tactical Missile Systems to Ukraine: “Not Doing So Will Only Prolong the War”

Senators Tom Cotton (R-Arkansas), Roger Wicker (R-Mississippi), Susan Collins (R-Maine), and Lindsey Graham (R-South Carolina) have penned a letter to Joe Biden, urging him to send MGM-140 Army Tactical Missile Systems (ATACMS) to Ukraine. The senators argue that not doing so will “only prolong the war” between Ukraine and Russia. The senators’ proposal is misguided and perilous for the United States and global stability.

The senators’ letter comes on the heels of the Senate Armed Services Committee’s unanimous approval for the Department of Defense to send long-range missiles to Ukraine.

The senators claim that the U.S. can provide these weapons “without any appreciable risk to its own combat capability.” They further argue that Ukraine “only requires a small portion of our stockpiled ATACMS” and that the U.S. can easily replenish its inventory.

This sense of urgency and the notion that the U.S. has an endless supply of missiles to spare is absurd. The Gateway Pundit previously reported that Joe Biden mentioned that the United States was running low on military ammunition.

Joe Biden admitted on national television that the US gave cluster bombs to Ukraine “because the US is low on other ammunition.”

“This is a war relating to munitions. And [Ukraine] is running out of that ammunition, and we’re low on it. And so what I finally did, I took the recommendation of the Defense Department to not permanently, but to allow for in this transition period where we had more 155 weapons… these shells for Ukrainians to provide them with something as a very low DUD rate,” said Biden.

“I wrote to President Biden with my colleagues and urged him to provide Ukraine with the missiles its military needs to win. Not doing so will only prolong the war and cost lives,” Cotton wrote.

We write to urge you to immediately send MGM-140 Army Tactical Missile Systems (ATACMS) to Ukraine. Additional delay will only further undermine U.S. national security interests and extend this conflict.

For many months, Ukrainian officials have stated the need for ATACMS to fill a critical gap in long-range fires capability. Providing ATACMS would enable Ukraine to strike key Russian logistics and communications targets as well as cruise missile and drone launch sites within Russian-occupied Ukraine. In particular, the longerrange unitary warhead variant of ATACMS should be sent without delay. The recent Ukrainian strike on Sevastopol naval port using the British Storm Shadow long-range weapon demonstrated the battlefield effectiveness of such weapons. Providing these weapons to Ukraine would maximize the likelihood of success in its current counteroffensive and follow-on operations. ATACMS could also augment Ukraine’s ability to destroy Russian defensive formations.

"We Dare Not Keep Silent": ATF Releases Anti-Gun Rule For Public Commen

Earlier this year, the Biden Administration announced its intent to move the United States "as close to Universal Background Checks as possible without additional legislation."

After much speculation on how far-reaching the rule would be, it has finally arrived, and it's worse than expected.

In its current form, the universal background check rule could subject those who sell even a single firearm to dealer requirements, including a background check.

While it is worth noting that none of this would be possible without the Republican-backed gun control known as the Bipartisan Safer Communities Act. There's still something that gun owners can do to combat this rule.

Under the Administrative Procedures Act, when agencies like ATF make rules, they must first submit the rule for public comment on the Federal Register.

During this period, citizens can give their thoughts on the rule and describe their unique situations as to how it will affect them.

If enough comments are negative, the agency will pull the rule and not proceed. Gun Owners of America has experienced massive success in defeating the ATF through this method. Most significantly, in 2015, we defeated the Obama administration's attempt to ban M855 "green tip" ammunition during the notice and comment period.

The first attempt at a pistol brace ruling during the Trump Administration was also defeated through the notice and comment period. ATF retracted the rule and "acknowledged there were legitimate uses for the devices," a statement that encapsulates the hypocritical nature of the agency itself.

And even if the rule goes through and becomes the law of the land, we're not out of options, but your comments are still extremely important to the next steps.

First, we lobby Congress to bring the rule under the Congressional Review Act. Gun Owners of America did this for Biden's pistol brace rule with H.J. Res 44. The House of Representatives passed a resolution that condemned the ATF rulemaking. Even though the resolution had no chance of being signed by Joe Biden, it still showed that ATF had acted against Congress's intent, sending a powerful message to the courts.

To get members of Congress to vote yes on this resolution, all we had to do was point to the massive number of comments left on the rule by their constituents.

Your comments matter in our lawsuits. If we can't get Congress to act, we can always take the ATF to court, something we're preparing to do right now over this rule. In our lawsuit, we will undoubtedly use the comments of GOA members to show how the rule adversely affects such a large portion of our membership along with the general population.

NATO admiral warns of ammunition shortage

With Ukraine consuming massive quantities of ammo, Western militaries are struggling to afford what’s on the market

Rising ammunition prices mean the West is spending more money on defense but ending up with less in its stockpiles, NATO Military Committee Chair Admiral Rob Bauer warned on Saturday. NATO officials have previously warned that the Ukrainian military is using more ammo than the West can produce.

“Prices for equipment and ammunition are shooting up. Right now, we are paying more and more for exactly the same,” Bauer said after a meeting of NATO defense chiefs in Norway, according to Reuters.

“That means that we cannot make sure that the increased defense spending actually leads to more security,” he added.

The price increase has been primarily driven by the Ukrainian military’s consumption of artillery shells, particularly 155mm rounds for its Western-provided guns. NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg warned in February that Kiev was burning through this ammunition faster than the West could replace it.

At that time, US Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin said that American advisers were instructing Ukrainian commanders to“emphasize additional training on maneuver” in order to preserve their dwindling 155mm stocks.

It is unclear how many of these shells Ukraine has fired per day since its counteroffensive against Russian forces began in June, but Reuters put the figure at 10,000, while other media outlets have suggested anywhere between 3,000 and 8,000.

Bauer said that the ammunition shortage has not been responsible for the glacial pace of the counteroffensive. Instead, he highlighted the density of Russian-laid minefields as the top threat faced by Ukrainian soldiers.

In order to resolve the ammo shortfall, Bauer called on the private sector to step up production.

"Long term stability needs to prevail over short term profits,” he said. “As we have seen in Ukraine, war is a whole of society event.”

As NATO countries funneled tens of billions of dollars worth of weapons and ammunition into Ukraine since last February, Western leaders imposed draconian sanctions on Russia in a bid to cripple its defense industry. These efforts have not worked as intended, andUS officials reportedly concedethat Russia is now producing more missiles than it was before the conflict began.

NATO chief Jens Stoltenberg warned Sunday that the West must make preparations for a “long war in Ukraine,” and declaring that there is “no doubt” Ukraine will eventually join the American-led military alliance.

In an interview with the German Funke media group, the Norwegian politician threw cold water on the notion of the conflict between Russia and Ukraine coming to an end any time soon.

The comments come ahead of another planned Washington visit from President Volodymyr Zelensky next week when he will once again meet with President Joe Biden as well as members of Congress to lobby for additional military aid amid the fledgling counteroffensive against the heavily entrenched Russian forces, which are occupying large swaths of Ukrainian territory in the south and in the Donbas region.

According to reports, Congress is currently considering — at the urging of the Biden administration — a further $24 billion in aid to Ukraine, which would come on top of the $113 billion in American taxpayer dollars already committed to backing Kyiv in what has devolved into a proxy war with Moscow.

At the last summit of the Western military alliance in Vilnius, Lithuania, NATO leaders agreed that Ukraine could become eligible to become a member, however, it would first have to enact reforms in order to meet the alliance’s membership criteria.

A list of “minimum requirements” laid out by the American State Department in 1997 said that prospective NATO members must demonstrate a commitment to upholding democracy through “tolerating diversity”, “showing progress” towards developing a market economy, having a military “firm civilian control”, respecting the sovereignty of other nations, and show that it is “working toward compatibility with NATO forces”.

It is unlikely for the alliance to admit a country currently at war given that it would immediately trigger Article 5 of the NATO treaty, which mandates that all members come to the defence of another member state. Questions would also probably arise over ongoing border disputes between Russia and Ukraine, given that small territorial conflicts could potentially spark a world war if the borders are not firmly determined before Ukraine potentially joins the Western alliance.

So far, Kyiv has rejected any suggestion — even from NATO officials — to consider ceding some of its territory in exchange for a peace deal with Moscow and NATO membership, vowing instead to fight until the country’s 1991 borders are fully restored.

U.K. health agency 'closely' monitoring deadly virus in India, has up to 75% fatality rate

The United Kingdom is apparently monitoring the recent outbreak of Nipah virus in India, which has a kill rate of up to 75% of those who contract the illness.

The recent uptick in cases of the virus, which reportedly inspired the Hollywood pandemic flick "Contagion," has killed two people in the southern state of Kerala, according to the Daily Mail.

Five other cases have been detected, including a child of one of the victims. The report indicated that 800 people have been tested for the virus thus far. The U.K. Health Security Agency stated that it was "closely" monitoring the outbreak.

X account Alert Channel posted: "Reports are emerging from India of a highly dangerous Virus with a kill rate of 75% which is far deadlier than anything previously seen. #NipahVirus is spread by fruit bats, who can transmit the virus to people via contact with infected bodily fluids like saliva or urine left on fruit."

Public transport in the area has been suspended, and those from neighboring states are also being tested for the infection.

The illness is contagious and spreads easily, whether by sneezing or coughing. The virus can be fatal by causing respiratory issues and brain swelling, according to the report.

There are no successful vaccines against the virus. The only treatment is helping the patient survive the symptoms while the body tries to fight off the infection.

A spokesperson for the UK health agency said: "UKHSA’s emerging infections and zoonoses team continue to monitor the Nipah outbreak closely though our epidemic intelligence processes."

"Nipah virus has not been detected in the UK and the risk of importation into the UK is very low."

Professor Miles Carroll, an expert in viruses at the Pandemic Sciences Institute at the University of Oxford, said: "To date, there have been five confirmed cases and two deaths reported, with many of those affected being family members of the first patient."

"Scientists here in Oxford are working with local partners in endemic countries to find out more about Nipah so we can ensure the world is better protected from outbreaks of this kind."

He went on to mention that Oxford researchers are currently at work on using the same technology as the AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccine to set up a clinical trial for the Nipah vaccine.

There has never been a report of Nipah virus in the U.K. or U.S.

Nipah was first discovered in 1999 after an outbreak occurred among pig farmers in Malaysia, according to the U.S. Centers for Disease Control.

The company previously had set as a goal of establishing a carbon footprint of zero in coming years, and boasts now of having one product that is carbon-neutral.

However, a commentary by Mike Adams at Brighteon charges that removing all carbon from the atmosphere would involve the elimination of human, of animals, even plant species.

Adams describes Cook as an "eco-terrorist" and charges his ad calls "for the extermination of life on earth."

White House Gives Biden’s Stance On Pardoning Son If He’s Convicted Of Crimes

White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre said on Friday that President Joe Biden will not consider commuting or pardoning his son, Hunter Biden, if he is convicted of the crimes he is accused of committing.

Special counsel David Weiss filed charges against Hunter Biden this week stemming from a firearm-related incident from when Joe Biden was vice president in the Obama administration.

The indictment charges the president’s son with three crimes related to false statements made on a federal application to purchase a firearm. The charges relate to a time when, in October 2018, Hunter claimed he was clean of drugs to purchase a handgun. He later wrote in his memoir that he was addicted to crack cocaine at the time.

“Would the president pardon or commute his son if he’s convicted?” a reporter asked.

“So, I’ve answered this question before, it was asked of me not too long ago, a couple of weeks ago,” she said. “And I was very clear, and I said, ‘no.'”

Two of the counts carry max sentences of 10 years in prison, while the third carries a max sentence of five years, according to NBC News. The stiff sentences are a sharp contrast to the agreement worked out under the plea deal that was blown up in federal court by a judge. The plea agreement would have freed Hunter from jail time and instead put him in a diversion program that, if completed successfully, would have wiped the gun charges from his record.

Hunter, “knowing that he was an unlawful user of and addicted to any stimulant, narcotic drug, and any other controlled substance … did knowingly possess a firearm, that is, a Colt Cobra 38SPL revolver,” the indictment says.

Weiss signaled earlier this month that he was looking at charges against Hunter related to lying on a federal firearm registration form and owning a gun illegally. Weiss wrote in a notice to Judge Maryellen Noreika in Delaware that he was considering charging the Biden heir with gun charges, though Weiss did not mention other charges related to Hunter’s overseas business dealings or taxes that are the subject of an ongoing corruption investigation by House Republicans. Hunter’s failed plea deal struck with Weiss included two misdemeanor tax charges as well.

Robert F. Kennedy Jr., whose father and uncle were both killed on the campaign trail, had a tense moment at a rally in Los Angeles when a heavily armed man posing as a federal law enforcement officer was apprehended by his security guards.

Taking to X (formerly Twitter), Kennedy expressed his gratitude for his private security team .

“I’m very grateful that alert and fast-acting protectors from Gavin de Becker and Associates (GDBA) spotted and detained an armed man who attempted to approach me at my Hispanic Heritage speech at the Wilshire Ebell Theatre in Los Angeles tonight” Kennedy said in an X post on Saturday, adding that he hopes the administration of US President Joe Biden will grant his request for Secret Service protection, noting that he is “the first presidential candidate in history to whom the White House has denied a request for protection.”

According to a statement issued by his campaign, the man claimed to be part of Kennedy’s security team and told them that he “needed to be taken to the candidate immediately.” Spotting a gun, the security team removed the man from the area and notified the Los Angeles Police (LAPD).

The campaign also claims that there was a second man, who was arrested by the LAPD along with the prime suspect, who had a backpack that contained at least one other handgun, multiple knives, and extra ammunition.

The LAPD confirmed in a statement that they received a call at around 4:30pm on Friday reporting a man with “a loaded gun in a shoulder holster and a badge stating he was a U.S. Marshal.” The suspect, identified as Adrian Paul Aispuro, 44, was arrested and taken into custody. He is being held on $35,000 bond and is facing a felony charge for carrying a concealed weapon.

Kennedy, and his father, a New York senator and presidential candidate, were both assassinated over half a century ago, filed an application for Secret Service protection in April, but despite several follow-ups, his requests were rejected by the White House.

In an X post last July, Kennedy claimed that since his father’s assassination in 1968, all candidates for president have been provided with Secret Service protection, “but after 88 days of no response and several follow-ups”, he received a letter from theBiden administration saying that “the protection is not warranted.”

Kennedy’s campaign manager, former Congressman Dennis Kucinich, called the decision “shocking and repugnant,” and accused Biden’s office of politicizing the Justice Department and security apparatus.

White House Gives Biden’s Stance On Pardoning Son If He’s Convicted Of Crimes

White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre said on Friday that President Joe Biden will not consider commuting or pardoning his son, Hunter Biden, if he is convicted of the crimes he is accused of committing.

Special counsel David Weiss filed charges against Hunter Biden this week stemming from a firearm-related incident from when Joe Biden was vice president in the Obama administration.

The indictment charges the president’s son with three crimes related to false statements made on a federal application to purchase a firearm. The charges relate to a time when, in October 2018, Hunter claimed he was clean of drugs to purchase a handgun. He later wrote in his memoir that he was addicted to crack cocaine at the time.

“Would the president pardon or commute his son if he’s convicted?” a reporter asked.

“So, I’ve answered this question before, it was asked of me not too long ago, a couple of weeks ago,” she said. “And I was very clear, and I said, ‘no.'”

Two of the counts carry max sentences of 10 years in prison, while the third carries a max sentence of five years, according to NBC News. The stiff sentences are a sharp contrast to the agreement worked out under the plea deal that was blown up in federal court by a judge. The plea agreement would have freed Hunter from jail time and instead put him in a diversion program that, if completed successfully, would have wiped the gun charges from his record.

Hunter, “knowing that he was an unlawful user of and addicted to any stimulant, narcotic drug, and any other controlled substance … did knowingly possess a firearm, that is, a Colt Cobra 38SPL revolver,” the indictment says.

Weiss signaled earlier this month that he was looking at charges against Hunter related to lying on a federal firearm registration form and owning a gun illegally. Weiss wrote in a notice to Judge Maryellen Noreika in Delaware that he was considering charging the Biden heir with gun charges, though Weiss did not mention other charges related to Hunter’s overseas business dealings or taxes that are the subject of an ongoing corruption investigation by House Republicans. Hunter’s failed plea deal struck with Weiss included two misdemeanor tax charges as well.
