What’s going on in Upstate New York?

Granted we are a small blog with small (but growing) sample sizes. We also happen to have a reliable contact in that area who finds these stories and reports them to us.

The first one was 53-year-old Syracuse teacher’s union president Bill Scott. He died 10 weeks after the second Pfizer shot. Mr. Scott is the first story that we labeled a “near-term death.” Though the time range is fluid, these individuals typically die anywhere from nine to 12 weeks after their second injections.

Jeff Kimpland is the 53-year-old Syracuse musician who died nine weeks after the Johnson & Johnson injection. We covered near-term “vaccine” deaths in Chicago, Ohio, New Jersey and elsewhere. But Mr. Dietrich is now the third one in Syracuse since April.

Mr. Dietrich was a journalist and editor at Syracuse-area publications for the last 32 years. He is survived by three adult children.

VERZINO, CALABRIA — A 49-year-old mother of three and agricultural entrepreneur is dead as Italian prosecutors open yet another phony “manslaughter investigation.”

Ms. Anna Biafora received the first experimental AstraZeneca injection at a Crotone Red Cross Center on May 30, according to Gazzetta Del Sud – Catanzaro. She went to the San Giovanni di Dio emergency room on June 7 complaining of severe stomach pain. Doctor discharged her 15 hours later with some Pepto Bismol and a gastritis diagnosis. But Ms. Biafora knew there was something seriously wrong with her.

She returned to the emergency room the following day. Doctors admitted her to the civil hospital and ran a battery of tests. They found several blood clots in her intestinal arteries. The blockages led to intestinal ischemia and infarction. In other words, large amounts of intestinal tissue was suffocated to death, placing Ms. Biafora in a life-threatening condition.

Doctors transferred her to the intensive care unit (ICU) and performed several “interventions,” according to media reports. It’s unclear if she received emergency surgery. But the interventions caused her condition to deteriorate further. Ms. Biafora remained in ICU for 19 days until she passed away on Monday, June 27.

Mr. Michael Mitchell received his first experimental Sinovac Coronavac “inactivated virus” injection on February 22, according to his Facebook page. The president of the influential American Federation of Labor and Congress of Industrial Organizations, Richard Trumka, unexpectedly died overnight.

AFL-CIO released an official statement shortly after several lawmakers and President Joe Biden paid homage to Trumka.

“The labor movement, the AFL-CIO and the nation lost a legend today," the organization stated in a press readout. "Rich Trumka devoted his life to working people, from his early days as president of the United Mine Workers of America to his unparalleled leadership as the voice of America’s labor movement. He was a relentless champion of workers’ rights, workplace safety, worker-centered trade, democracy and so much more."

Richard T. Farmer, the founder and chairman emeritus of Cintas Corp., died on Aug. 4, according to a LinkedIn post by the Miami University business school named for Farmer's family. He was 86.

The business leader and philanthropist's life story is literally one of going from rags to riches. His company grew through acquisitions and start-ups, transforming the family business into a public company that reported a $1.1 billion profit on sales of $7.1 billion at the end of the most recent fiscal year. The company ranked No. 410 on the most recent Fortune 500 list.

Despite being a hard-charging businessman, his manner was without pretense. "He was low-key, more interested in learning about you than talking about himself," a remembrance posted on MU's Farmer School of Business webpage noted. "He seemed just like a 'regular guy.' "

When Farmer joined Acme Uniform and Linen Co. in 1957, the family-owned industrial rag business in Kennedy Heights employed 12 people.

Over the next five decades, Farmer demonstrated how his precise focus on a deceptively simple formula for growth transformed the small local company into a national powerhouse.

Today, Cintas is now not only the nation’s largest uniform rental company but a business-to-business juggernaut, supplying more than a million customers with floor care, restroom supplies, first aid and safety products, fire extinguishers and testing, and safety and compliance training.

“Everyone at Cintas is deeply saddened by the passing of Dick Farmer, our founder and chairman emeritus," the company said in a statement Thursday afternoon. "The story of Dick’s life is very much intertwined with the history of our company. His legacy and the culture of honesty, integrity, and professionalism that he instilled at Cintas continues today and into the future."

Italian man identified as top crime boss arrested in Madrid

A fugitive Italian man identified as a leader of what is believed to be one of the world’s wealthiest criminal organizations has been arrested in Madrid, Spanish and Italian police said Thursday.

Italy’s Carabinieri identified the man as Domenico Paviglianiti, 60, a leader of the Calabrian-based ’ndrangheta crime syndicate.

Paviglianiti was arrested in a joint operation with the Carabinieri, Spain’s National Police said in a statement. Italian prosecutors said the arrest took place Tuesday.

Paviglianiti was carrying fake Portuguese identity papers, six cellphones and 6,000 euros ($7,100) in cash when he was arrested, according to the Spanish statement.

Police believe Paviglianiti is the head of a ’ndrangheta clan named for him and which operates around the world from its base in three villages in Italy's Calabria region.

Brazilian customs enforcement officers conducted a search of the jet on Wednesday at Leite Lopes Airport in Ribeirão Preto and discovered 24 suitcases containing drugs belonging to Gonzalez Valdes, a Spanish national who boarded the plane at Fortaleza-Pinto Martins International Airport in Fortaleza, Brazil. The plane was headed to Belgium.

“Dozens of suitcases containing cocaine were seized in a Turkish business jet. Cocaine, reportedly belonging to a passenger who was flying from Fortaleza Airport in Brazil to Brussels, Belgium, was confiscated. The passenger and pilots were taken into custody,” Kıdık tweeted.

In the video Brazilian police officers are seen questioning the Turkish pilot about a suitcase, and the pilot says it belongs to Valdes. Then the police ask the Spanish passenger to open the suitcase. The police officers conduct a quick test on the powder in the suitcase and confirm that it is cocaine.

ACM Air released a statement in which it denied any responsibility for the cocaine found on its jet.

“We would [like to] inform the public that the customer in question and his personal belongings are not connected in any manner to our company or our air crew, and the responsibility for checking passenger belongings lies completely with the airport authorities, and our air crew and plane will be brought to Turkey as soon as possible after the completion of the legal proceedings,” the statement said.

Meanwhile, journalist Timur Soykan claimed that the jet in question had once belonged to the Prime Ministry, when it was operating under tail number TC-ATA. “The Turkish jet in which suitcases full of cocaine were seized in Brazil used to belong to the Prime Ministry, with tail number TC-ATA, which was very famous in the past. Its tail number was changed to TC-GVA before being sold,” Soykan tweeted.
