- Promote social ethics that are disingenuous like doxxing, "reverse psychology", or promoting propaganda.
- Promote tactics that are unethical, illegal or involve violence outside the scope of the Law.
- Employ Fear, Uncertainty and Doubt to dissuade research.
Topic sliding If information of a sensitive nature has been posted on a discussion forum, it can be quickly removed from public view by topic sliding. In this technique a large number of unrelated posts, or posts aimed at diluting the information presented, are submitted in an effort to trigger a topic slide to literally push content out of view. Operators can control several fake UIDs via the bots they make use of; these can also be called upon in the other techniques to mask the intent of the operator from the users at large. Although it is difficult or impossible to censor the posting it is now lost in a sea of unrelated and bogus postings.
Seeding bad information Operatives will insert flawed or bogus information from time to time as an ongoing tactic, depending on their skill set and the needs of their mission. Their most common ruse is providing information or evidence which is backed by bad source material in the hope that the "source of the source" is never checked. Cultivating tacit approval (The legal term for this is 'silent agreement') Attempting to attain this state is done using a technique where operators will try to convince the user population to ignore, or not respond to bad information or false assertions. This is done in a bid to reduce push-back against the above mentioned tactics. It's worth noting that the reply filtering mechanism of the boards (which currently can't be disabled without code changes from the site admin) is used as a weapon of sorts in this tactic: Filtering with software prevents anons from defending against seeding bad information and astroturfing consensus. This is why the operators push so hard to condition anons into filtering material they disagree with.
How to spot a Clown's bot
NEVER DIRECTLY ENGAGE A BOT It just wastes bread with their responses, and hands them a target to programmatically lock on to without handler interaction. It seems that the easiest way to foil the bots is to point them out by proxy, by copy/pasting the user's ID as a quoted reference and intentionally breaking its post link in your response and/or answering it with a meme until they start misfiring because they can't parse the response to lock onto a target correctly.. Doing this can also make the bots look artificially erratic and easier for other anons to spot.
What we know about the cl0wnbots
- Are used to facilitate topic sliding, manufacturing consensus, obfuscation of intent, and general disruption
- Require a handler to watch for and be in the thread
- Cannot enter threads themselves
- Respond to replies and each other, and can create replies
- Can pick up random or contradictory meme flags
- Activate on lists of trigger words; these can change over time
- Use a combination of legit pasta, pre-written points, or spam targeted at various objectives.
- Have unwittingly pasta'd supportive replies
- Are employed mostly at night and on weekends (US time)
- Add to bump limits
- Can be filtered by ID once they are observed
- Are not perfected and can be easily spotted
- Were deployed starting on the /CBTS/ board
- Have certain flaws that can cause them to misfire in sometimes comical ways
- The handlers can make bogus clown threads, but also can be confused by accidental ones

Myanmar army ruler takes prime minister role, again pledges elections
Myanmar's military ruler Min Aung Hlaing has taken on the role of prime minister in a newly formed caretaker government, state media reported on Sunday, six months after the army seized power from a civilian government.
In a speech on Sunday, Min Aung Hlaing repeated a pledge to hold elections by 2023 and said his administration was ready to work with a future regional envoy on Myanmar. The announcement and speech came exactly six months after the army seized power Feb. 1 from a civilian government following elections that were won by Aung San Suu Kyi's ruling party but that the military said had been fraudulent. Min Aung Hlaing has chaired the State Administration Council (SAC) that was formed just after the coup and that has run Myanmar since then, and the caretaker government will replace it. "In order to perform the country's duties fast, easily and effectively, the state administration council has been re-formed as caretaker government of Myanmar," a newsreader on state Myawaddy television said. In his speech, Min Aung Hlaing repeated a pledge to restore democracy, saying, "We will accomplish the provisions of the state of emergency by August 2023." He added: "I guarantee the establishment of a union based on democracy and federalism."
Shortly after the coup, junta leaders promised new elections within two years. The reference on Sunday to August 2023 was interpreted by some local media as extending that time frame by six months. Min Aung Hlaing also said his administration would work with any special envoy named by the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN). ASEAN foreign ministers are to meet on Monday, when diplomats say they aim to finalize a special envoy tasked with ending violence and promoting dialogue between the junta and its opponents. The army seized power after Suu Kyi's ruling party won elections that the military argues were tainted by fraud. It has said its takeover was in line with the constitution. The country's electoral commission has dismissed the fraud allegations. After the coup, Suu Kyi, 75, was charged with several crimes. Her trial on charges of illegally possessing walkie-talkie radios and breaking coronavirus protocols is scheduled to resume on Monday.
The military authorities have faced months of protests, strikes that have paralyzed public and private sectors, and a resurgence of armed conflicts in the borderlands. The authorities have branded their opponents as terrorists. "At present, the whole country is stable except for some terrorist attacks," Min Aung Hlaing said in his speech. The Assistance Association for Political Prisoners activist group has accused the armed forces of killing 939 people in suppressing dissent since the coup and said at least 6,990 military opponents have been arrested.
The military said the number of protesters killed is far lower and members of the armed forces have also died in violence. It said its response has met international norms in the face of threats to national security.

LAS VEGAS (KLAS) – A Las Vegas father who contracted COVID-19 while on vacation texted his fiancee from the hospital, “I should have gotten the damn vaccine,” she later told Nexstar’s KLAS.
Michael Freedy, 39, a father of five, and his fiancee, Jessica du Preez, traveled with their family to San Diego in mid-July.
He later tested positive for coronavirus and developed difficulty breathing with pneumonia in both lungs, du Preez said.
“Oh my [expletive] God. This is terrible,” Freedy sent du Preez in a text message from the hospital. “I should have gotten the damn vaccine.”
“I went to the ICU that night to see him, after getting one of the worst phone call updates ever,” du Preez wrote in a GoFundMe post. “The nurse told me to contact next of kin and to take all of his belongings home with me.”
Du Preez said Freedy died in the hospital Thursday morning.
“We were just holding off and now to think that if we just had gotten the shot a week before or a month before when one of our jobs had a vaccination thing, he could still be here,” she said.
Both du Preez and her eldest child got the first dose of the vaccine when Freedy was admitted to the hospital, she said.
She hopes her family’s story prompts othersto take the virus seriouslyand avoid a similar tragedy. A GoFundMe for the family had raised nearly $20,000 as of noon Friday.

Sudan’s official gold output nearly doubled in the first half of 2021 as authorities reined in smuggling, a Sudanese Mineral Resources Co. official said, marking a partial success in efforts to salvage the economy.
The North African nation recorded production of 30.3 tons between January and the end of June, compared with 15.6 tons in the same period the year before, Al-Sadig Al-Haj, head of planning and research at the state-owned company, said Sunday by phone. Sudan pocketed about 38.2 billion pounds ($86 million) from gold in the first half of 2021 and targets 104 billion pounds from a total 100 tons by the end of the year, al-Haj said. He attributed the rise to “strong measures” imposed by the mineral ministry and other state institutions to prevent illicit cross-border trade.
Sudan, where dictator Omar al-Bashir was overthrown in 2019, is racing to turn around an economy shattered by years of mismanagement and international isolation, with a substantial increase in gold sales a key component of its 2021 budget. Finance Minister Gibril Ibrahim in June said Sudan was trying to attract private investment to the industry dominated by informal mining and that smuggling meant authorities see only a relatively small proportion of total output.

Two red objects between Mars and Jupiter may explain how the solar system formed
A group of scientists has discovered two unusually red objects in the asteroid belt between Jupiter and Mars, and they may have originated from farther in the solar system. These objects — called 203 Pompeja and 269 Justitia — are redder than the reddest known objects in the asteroid belt and may have migrated to the area from beyond Neptune. If that's true, then they could provide insight into the chaos of the early solar system and into how the solar system as we know it today came to be.
The team led by JAXA's Sunao Hasegawa identified the objects through observations collected at the Infra-red Telescope Facility and Seoul National University Astronomical Observatory, according to the paper they published. As The New York Times points out, most objects in the inner solar system tend to reflect blue light, because they're devoid of or have very little organic materials. Objects from the outer solar system such as the Kuiper belt, however, tend to be redder. That's because they have a lot of organics like carbon and methane, which may have been the building blocks of our planet. As you may know, the Kuiper belt is the region extending from the orbit of Neptune where you can find remnants of our solar system's formation.
If Pompeja and Justitia truly were transplants from beyond Nepture, then they'd serve as evidence for the hypothesis that a fraction of the asteroids between Jupiter and Mars came from the Kuiper belt. They'd also support the set of theories, called the Nice Model, on how our gas giants settled into their orbits. The Nice model says our giant planets formed closer to the Sun until an instability forced Neptune, Uranus and Saturn to move outwards and Jupiter to move inwards. The event would've caused asteroids rich in organic materials to scatter and move around the solar system.
Of course, more observations and evidence are needed to be able to prove that the two objects are from the Kuiper belt. The good thing is that since the asteroid belt is much closer to us than Neptune, it would take a spacecraft less time to reach them if ever Earth's space agencies decide to send a probe to study them more closely.

Morocco Reports 6,189 New COVID-19 Cases over Past 24 Hours
The number of people vaccinated to date (1st dose) has reached 13,672,764 while 10,129,424 people have been fully vaccinated (1st and second dose), the ministry pointed out in its daily COVID-19 bulletin. The total number of COVID-19 cases reported since the start of the outbreak of the virus rises to 629,717 while the number of recoveries increases to 566,008 which corresponds to a recovery rate of 89.9%.
Regarding coronavirus-related deaths, they rose to 9,833 with fourty-eight new cases recorded in the past day in the regions of Casablanca-Settat (11), Marrakech-Safi (8), Tangier-Tetouan-Al Hoceima (8), Rabat-Salé-Kenitra (7), Beni Mellal-Khenifra (4), Souss-Massa (4), Draa-Tafilalet (3) and Fez-Meknes (3), the ministry said, adding that the fatality rate remains at 1.6%. The new COVID-19 cases were reported in the regions of Casablanca-Settat (1,799), Marrakech-Safi (950), Rabat-Salé-Kenitra (822), Souss-Massa (778), Tangier-Tetouan-Al Hoceima (367), the Oriental (308), Draa-Tafilalet (306), Guelmim-Oued Noun (283), Beni Mellal-Khenifra (268), Fez-Meknes (159), Dakhla-Oued Eddahab (96) and Laayoune-Sakia El Hamra (53). The number of active cases rose to 53,876 including 985 in a critical or severe condition, the ministry added.
