Scramble Into Treasurys Could Spark Month-End Reverse Repo Chaos

In the days following the quarter-end burst to almost $1 trillion, usage of the Fed's infamous overnight reverse repo facility had shrunk by roughly $200BN, gravitating in the $750BN - $800BN range, until today when 71 counterparties parked $860.5BN worth of reserves at the Fed-see cap#2, the second highest amount on record. But despite renewed expectations that this latest push will finally send total RRP activity above $1 trillion as banks seek to park excess reserves/deposits anywhere but in the economy and/or markets, Curvature's Scott Skyrm disagrees, pointing to one notable change: the surge in yields.

As Skyrm writes in his latest Repo Market Commentary "with the stock market sell-off and the bond market rally, it only means one thing! A flight-to-quality." This matters because traditionally "a flight-to-quality will affect the Repo market by removing securities from the market."

And as "end buyers" purchase Treasurys and pack them away in their portfolios, "it means less collateral in the market" (reserves, i.e., cash, is what banks use to buy TSYs with, or - in the case of JPMorgan - not buy TSYs with as discussed earlier). Skyrm then writes that historically a large percentage of the securities purchased are the on-the-run issues, so "given the slow summer weeks and large issue sizes, I don’t expect Repo market activity to increase substantially." However, after a sleepy August, if volatility continues into the refunding and if yields reverse course and collateral is once again dumped, Skyrm warns that "we could have a pretty active August."

Not everyone agrees with this take: according to interbroker dealer Wrightson ICAP, RRP volumes could return to the $900 billion level by Wednesday or Thursday. But the biggest reason why many expect the RRP balance to explode in the next 10 days is because in May, the Treasury forecast that its cash balance on July 31 will drop to $450 billion; it was $698 billion on July 16, meaning that the Treasury will have to drain $250 billion in cash from the Treasury General Account, with the resultant reserves likely getting parked immediately at the Fed's repo facility...unless of course the Fed makes equities eligible for CET1 coverage, encouraging banks to use Fed reserves to buy stocks outright instead of through market intermediaries.

SHANGHAI (Reuters) - Two dams in China’s northwestern region of Inner Mongolia have collapsed after torrential rain, the water ministry said on Monday, highlighting the safety risks posed by ageing infrastructure during the summer flood season.

The dams, in the Inner Mongolian city of Hulunbuir, collapsed on Sunday afternoon. They had formed reservoirs with a combined water storage capacity of 46 million cubic metres, the Ministry of Water Resources said.

People living downstream were evacuated, with no casualties reported, it said.

DES MOINES, Iowa — Former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo told a gathering of about 100 conservatives in north Des Moines on Friday morning that their beliefs are under “assault,” but they can “retake” their country by getting engaged now.

“There is an assault on the ideas you all got up to come work hard for — and the candidates you all are working hard for,” Pompeo said in a speech and question-and-answer session for which he earned a standing ovation at both ends. Pompeo’s comments came at the Northside Conservatives Club gathering early Friday morning at the District Venue in the Ankeny neighborhood of Iowa’s capital. The address represents one of the earliest forays of a potential GOP presidential candidate in 2024 into the first state that will help decide who represents the party in the next presidential election.

Pompeo cited the surging battle by parents across America against Critical Race Theory as a point of inspiration and urged parents from coast to coast to continue speaking their minds at school board meetings, whenever possible. He also said that they should be “fearless” like he and former President Donald Trump were during the Trump administration.

Pushing vaccines while banning ivermectin is “global collusion” to cause as much harm and death as possible

Those working on the frontlines of the so-called “pandemic” all last year were indicating from the beginning that early treatment was of utmost importance, recommending proven remedies like hydroxychloroquine (HCQ) and ivermectin as therapeutic solutions. The medical deep state, however, was all the while engaged in a “global collusion” racket with Big Pharma, warns Dr. Peter McCullough, the goal of which was to “cause as much harm and death as conceivable.”

You see, by encouraging the use of safe, inexpensive, and off-patent drugs, the real doctors trying to save lives were cutting into the profits and eugenics goals of Moderna, Tony Fauci, Bill Gates, and other corrupt globalist entities who had worked long and hard for many years to bring about the global plandemic in the first place.

FDA trying to ban NAC because it could cure covid

No wonder the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) is now trying to ban NAC. Since it shows incredible promise as a natural remedy, or dare we say cure, for the Chinese Virus, it has to go because it is a threat to the establishment.

Instead of trying to help people with this simple, natural, easily accessible natural remedy, the FDA is trying to erase it from existence while encouraging people to rush out and get jabbed with these “mark of the beast” abominations that are both unsafe and ineffective.

“I’m glad that I personally always treated all my patients,” says Dr. McCullough about he has continued to buck the system and do what he knows needs to be done to save lives.

Hello again QRB, from your frens in the UK thread. Thought we might drop this fun dig re dating the RED BUS pic at Piccadilly Circus. While it didn’t narrow the timeframe it fills out the picture for anons and is still a proof of that we are over the target. A Canadian fellow (who should not be allowed to operate the camera function on his phone) made quite a few shaky nauseating short vids of the London pics timeframe which, although torture to watch, were very productive for us in getting some useful caps. I recommend heavy use of the pause button. It helps with the dizziness. A small poster sign and blurry yet distinguishable vertical playbill from a musical called ONCE can be made out in the vid. The poster seen in the Canadian’s vid has a white border which seems a fair match for one seen in the same spot of the kiosk on SV in May of 2014. One difference is ads for Miss Saigon which were we think changed in for another production we can’t ID yet. The poster is an ad for ONCE, a musical which was playing at the Phoenix from April 2013 to March 2014. While the billboard/posters for the ONCE musicsl seen in Q’s RED BUS pic are on right side of the ticket kiosk, and the small poster and vertical playbill for ONCE are on the front of the kiosk in the Canadian’s NYE vid, they are proof of one another being displayed at yhe same time, as the kiosk generally plasters advertisements for 2 musicals playing at that time. While this pictorial investigation did not narrow our timeframe for the Christmas holiday evidenced by the overhead street decoration fasteners above Coventry Street, it establishes that the picture was taken while the musical ONCE was still playing at the Phoenix Theatre in London. Once again, that musical ran from April 2013 until March 2014. So we are we are right where we need to be timewise.

Dropping these drops at QRB way ahead of our planned series of LONDON PICS vids to be dropped in GR, can’t even say just when.
