Netanyahu addressed these threats in a speech to the Knesset Monday, saying Israel was “ready for every scenario.”

While piling pressure on Iran, Trump has maintained that he is hopeful of making a deal. Tehran has also insisted it wants diplomacy, even while vowing an unbridled response to any aggression.

“President Pezeshkian has ordered the opening of talks with the United States,” the news agency Fars reported, citing an unnamed government source.

“Iran and the United States will hold talks on the nuclear file,” Fars said, without specifying a date.

The report was also carried by the government newspaper Iran and the reformist daily Shargh.

Without giving details on the content of any prospective negotiation, Iranian foreign ministry spokesman Esmaeil Baqaei said, “Countries of the region are acting as mediators in the exchange of messages.

“Several points have been addressed and we are examining and finalizing the details of each stage in the diplomatic process, which we hope to conclude in the coming days,” he added. “This concerns the method and framework.”

Speaking on CNN on Sunday, Araghchi said he believes his country can reach an agreement with the US.

Others in the region are also keen to avoid the tensions with Iran boiling over, and Jordan’s top diplomat communicated as much in a phone call with his Iranian counterpart on Monday.

“Jordan will not be a battleground in any regional conflict or a launching pad for any military action against Iran,” Ayman Safadi told Araghchi, according to a Jordanian foreign ministry statement.

Safadi added that Amman, a US ally, “will not permit any party to violate its airspace or threaten its security and the safety of its citizens,” and stressed Jordan’s support for de-escalation and restoring calm.

Meanwhile, the Kremlin said that Russia is still trying to de-escalate tensions around Iran, noting that it had long ago offered its services to process or store Iran’s enriched uranium.

Asked if Russia was discussing with Iran and the US the possibility of taking Iranian enriched uranium, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said: “This topic has been on the agenda for a long time.”

“Russia has been offering its services for quite a long time as a possible option that would lead to the removal of certain irritants for a number of countries,” Peskov said.

“Right now, Russia is continuing its efforts, continuing its contacts with all interested parties, and maintains its readiness to de-escalate tensions around Iran to the best of its ability,” he said.

Israel targeted Iran’s nuclear and ballistic missile programs during last year’s war, and has debilitated several of the terror groups funded by Tehran that seek Israel’s destruction. Trump has also warned Iran not to expand its ballistic missile stockpile.

Israel said its sweeping assault on Iran’s top military leaders, nuclear scientists, uranium enrichment sites, and ballistic missile program was necessary to prevent the Islamic Republic from realizing its avowed plan to destroy the Jewish state.

Iran has consistently denied seeking to acquire nuclear weapons.

However, it enriched uranium to levels that have no peaceful application, obstructed international inspectors from checking its nuclear facilities, and expanded its ballistic missile capabilities. Israel said Iran had recently taken steps toward weaponization.

Iran retaliated to Israel’s strikes by launching over 500 ballistic missiles and around 1,100 drones at Israel. The attacks killed 32 people and wounded over 3,000 in Israel, according to health officials and hospitals.

Iran has no plans to transfer its enriched nuclear material to any country and talks are not focused on such an option, a senior Iranian official said, pushing back against earlier reports.

AUGUSTA, Maine (WGME) - Maine Secretary of State and gubernatorial candidate Shenna Bellows says she has been doxed after coming out against ICE.

Bellows says her home address and personal contact information were spread online.

Mediation efforts reportedly coincide with a pause in Washington’s military pressure on Tehran

After weeks of ratcheting up pressure on Iran and openly floating the use of US military force, President Donald Trump has in recent days struck a more cautious tone, leaving the door open to diplomacy even as Washington continues to reinforce its military posture in the Middle East. Some media reports suggest that mediation efforts, including Moscow, are underway to bring Washington and Tehran back to the negotiating table.

When asked about Tehran, Trump told reporters on Sunday: “Hopefully we’ll make a deal.” Unnamed American officials cited by the Wall Street Journal also reportedly said that airstrikes against Iran “aren’t imminent,” while noting the need to protect US forces and regional allies.

Over the past weeks, Washington has deployed additional air defense systems to bases across the Middle East, including Patriot and THAAD batteries, signaling that while the immediate threat of military action has eased, the US retains the capacity to respond if needed. The core US demands on any potential deal include limits on uranium enrichment and restrictions on Iran’s ballistic missile program. Iran maintains that its nuclear program is purely peaceful.

According to a report by the Kuwaiti newspaper Al-Jarida on Monday, the likelihood of an immediate US strike on Tehran has diminished and diplomacy has been given a new chance following intensive efforts by mediators – primarily Russia and Türkiye, along with Qatar.

Russian President Vladimir Putin presented a set of proposals during talks in Moscow last week with the head of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council, Ali Larijani, prompting Trump to “postpone” any decision on military action to allow further discussion of the initiatives, an unnamed source told the paper.

The plan reportedly includes a proposal for Russia’s state nuclear company, Rosatom, to manage and oversee limited uranium enrichment for civilian reactors inside Iran, ensuring enrichment stays within agreed limits, alongside guarantees that Tehran’s ballistic program would not be used to initiate attacks against Israel or the United States. Russia has repeatedly said it believes the Iranian nuclear issue should be resolved through political and diplomatic means.

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov has urged dialogue, warning that “any forceful actions can only create chaos in the region and lead to very dangerous consequences.” Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov has stated that Moscow is ready to play a key role once again in reaching an agreement on Iran’s nuclear program, similar to its involvement in the 2015 deal.

Under the agreement, officially known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), Iran agreed to restrict uranium enrichment levels, reduce its stockpile of enriched uranium, and allow comprehensive inspections by the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA).

Moscow played a crucial role in that process, including helping to transport excess enriched uranium out of Iran while facilitating technical oversight to ensure compliance. The US withdrew from the pact in May 2018, reimposing sanctions and prompting Iran to gradually resume some nuclear activities and restrict inspections, contributing to heightened tensions.

Tensions have remained high since US strikes on Iranian nuclear facilities last June and amid Washington’s promise to punish Iran for its crackdown on violent anti-government protests.

Rep. James Comer, R-Ky., chair of the House Oversight Committee, rejected what he called a last-minute "special treatment" offer from Bill and Hillary Clinton to cooperate in the committee's Jeffrey Epstein investigation.

The rejection was just days before the House is expected to vote on holding them in criminal contempt of Congress.

For months, the Clintons have said they would not comply with subpoenas from the Republican-led committee, branding the subpoenas invalid and portraying the probe as political retaliation.

They had promised to fight Comer "for as long as it took."

But after some Democrats joined Republicans on the Oversight Committee to recommend criminal contempt referrals — a first step toward sending the matter to the Justice Department — the Clintons shifted tactics and proposed limited cooperation.

In a Saturday letter to Comer obtained by The New York Times, their lawyers said former President Bill Clinton would agree to sit for a four-hour transcribed interview with the full committee.

The lawyers asked that former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, who has said she never met or spoke to Epstein, be allowed to submit a sworn declaration instead of testifying.

They added she would agree to an in-person interview if required, but only "with appropriate adjustments for the paucity of information she has to offer in this matter," according to the letter.

Comer turned them down on Monday morning, calling the offer "unreasonable."

He said four hours would be inadequate for Bill Clinton, describing him as a "loquacious individual" who could try to run out the clock.

"Your clients' desire for special treatment is both frustrating and an affront to the American people's desire for transparency," Comer wrote in a Monday letter to the Clintons' lawyers.

Comer also rejected Bill Clinton's request to limit the interview to matters directly tied to Epstein. The former president, Comer wrote, "likely has an artificially narrow definition in mind" of what is relevant.

Comer said he is concerned Bill Clinton would refuse to answer questions about "his personal relationship with Jeffrey Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell, ways in which they sought to curry favor with powerful individuals and alleged efforts to utilize his power and influence after his presidency to kill negative news stories about Jeffrey Epstein."

Bill Clinton was acquainted with Epstein, the convicted sex offender who died in federal custody in 2019. He has said he never visited Epstein's private island and cut off contact 20 years ago.

Flight logs show the 42nd president took four international trips on Epstein's private jet in 2002 and 2003.

Philippe Reines, a longtime Clinton adviser, criticized the Oversight Committee Democrats who backed the contempt recommendations.

"Republicans are gonna Republican," Reines told the Times. "It's the Democrats who are disappointing, navel-gazing like this is a legitimate exercise in law and democracy."

A House vote could come as early as Wednesday. After a contempt vote, referrals would go to the Justice Department.

Contempt charges can include a fine of up to $100,000 and up to one year in jail. The Clintons previously accused Comer of a process "literally designed to result in our imprisonment."

In addition to ending the ruling with a bible quote, the elderly judge also dated the ruling on Feb. 31, 2026, an impossible date.

New Letter to Hegseth, DOD Warns of Obesity's Impact on Military Readiness

Rising rates of obesity across the U.S. Armed Forces are an “urgent threat” that needs to be rectified as soon as possible.

That’s according to a new letter drafted by national organizations and more than 70 national security, military and public health stakeholders, addressed to the Pentagon and Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth.

The correspondence cites increased rates of overweight service members and their obesity as the leading causes of recruitment disqualification, in addition to being key drivers of early separation, injury and serious adverse health events—describing all factors as “posing an urgent threat to readiness, manpower, and the overall health of the force.”

The letter’s main signees are the American Security Project (ASP) and Obesity Care Advocacy Network (OCAN), with support from other groups and organizations including the American Diabetes Association, American Psychological Association Services, and the Lupus Foundation of America.

Individuals Voice Concern

Another 13 individual signatories also signed on, including Ret. Brig. Gen. Stephen Cheney of the United States Marine Corps, former Republican New Jersey Gov. Christine Whitman, and Ret. Brig. Gen. Allyson Solomon of the U.S. Air Force.

“Maintaining a force that is physically ready is not optional,” said Solomon, also former commander of the Maryland Air National Guard, in a statement. “Rising obesity rates undermine operational effectiveness, limit deployable manpower, and create vulnerabilities in our national defense posture.

“Addressing these challenges through evidence-based prevention and treatment programs ensures that every service member has the tools and support to maintain peak readiness and meet the demands of their mission.”

BREAKING: DC based federal judge Ana Reyes (Biden appointee) has just blocked DHS from ending Temporary Protected Status (TPS) for 350,000+ Haitians in the U.S. whose legal status was set to expire *tomorrow*, which would have opened them up to deportation and a loss of their work authorizations.

In a scathing opinion, Judge Reyes says DHS Secretary Kristi Noem doesn’t have the law or facts on her side, and writes that it is “substantially likely” that Noem has “hostility toward nonwhite immigrants.”

Judge Reyes writes that the plaintiffs who sued DHS aren’t “killers, leeches, or entitlement junkies,” and says that they are a neuroscientist, a lab assistant, a nurse, and an economics major who were all facing deportation.

In the event that the protests are stalled but the organizations are not crushed, activists will revert to assassinations and Weather Underground-style terror attacks until they demoralize the populace and gather strength again. The office of the Tennessee District Attorneys General Conference hasreleased its annual state immigration report revealing that in 2025, illegal migrants committed 2,183 violent offenses, including 41 homicides, 145 sexual offenses, 11 child rapes, and more.

Republican State Rep. Dan Howell said he was shocked by the report and called the data “really, really bad.”

“These are the criminals liberals want to defend while trying to defund ICE,” he pointed out.

“Forty-one Tennesseeans are dead at the hands of illegal immigrants and hundreds raped. This will not be tolerated in this great state and we will do more to keep you safe,” Howell added. (emphasis original)

The “2025 Immigration Report” released on January 30 is a required (TN Code § 4-1-425 2024) annual report from the state’s district attorneys general conference. The law directs them to “collect and analyze data from law enforcement agencies on the number of persons not lawfully present in the United States charged or convicted of a criminal offense in this state during the previous year.”

The crime statistics in the report come from data collected from the “Public Chapter 1008: Arrestee Citizenship Status – Not Lawfully Present or Unknown” forms created by the Tennessee District Attorneys General Conference. Police in Tennessee are required to fill out these forms after arresting a noncitizen.

The report found that a total of 21,648 charges were filed against illegal migrants among 11,344 cases between January 1 and December 31 of 2025, averaging nearly 1000 reports per month. However, there are likely even more because one county (Bledsoe) did not submit its data in time for the report to be filed.

Migrants representing a total of 119 different countries were cited in the reports where country of origin was obtainable.

The categories of crimes revealed a shocking toll suffered by the state’s citizens at the hands of illegal migrants.

Among the categories of crime, the report includes:

2,183 violent offenses

41 homicides

1,592 assaults

145 sexual offenses

11 child rapes

40 aggravated kidnappings

2,920 DUIs

5,318 cases of driving without a license or on suspended/or revoked

966 Carjackings

36 Felony firearms offenses

66 Assaults on police or first responders

The “2025 Immigration Report” is now the second such report in compliance with the state law. The 2024 report, the first of its kind, collected data from only 73 of the state’s 95 counties and found that 2,719 non-citizens had been charged with crimes.
